Got a letter today that the Paradise Beach Adventure excursion in Puerto Vallarta at 12:40 was cancelled by the vendor. They put us into the 7:40 group, but I called and told Disney Cruise Line to cancel all together. I am not interested in that time.

Did they just cancel the 12:45 pm excursion for your cruise or for all West Coast cruises?

I've heard that the Krystal Hotel in PV (within walking distance of port) allow cruisers to use their facilities for the day. I believe they charge $10 per adult but you can use the $10 towards food & drinks.

I noticed that the 12:40 time is still listed on the DCL website, although they are often slow to change things on the site. I, too, wonder if it's just on your sailing or on all West Coast sailings.

now why would they go and do such a thing?!!?

that's the one we were looking into...hmmmm...i hope we find out soon, if it's cancelled only for that date & that time block...or for the whole entire west coast cruise.

just curious...why wouldn't 7:40 work for you?

so now it's cancelled, what are you plans? and ideas? :flower:

For this particular excursion, I don't like 7:40am because I don't usually like to swim and stuff so early. I think we are going to play it by ear and see what Puerto Vallarta is like. Maybe do some shopping or sightseeing. No definite plans.

That explains something. We are on the 5/28 cruise and tried to book the 12:40 excursion but it was sold out. I've been calling every few days to check for cancellations. When I called Friday, the CM said that they didn't have a 12:40 departure. I thought she didn't know what she was talking about but it appears as though I was the one that didn't know what she was talking about. :)

We are also not interested in the 7:40 departure. We are fairly early risers, usually up by 6:45. However, I was worried about getting the kids off the ship at such an early time considering it be like 6:40 to us and the kids are likely to be up late on the ship. I believe PV is on CST and we are on PDT.

I just wanted to post an update.

I was able to book the 12:40 pm departure online for our 5/28 cruise. I called Disney to see what was going on. The CM told me that the 12:40 departure had been cancelled but it reopened 4/26 and is now scheduled to go.

Thanks for the info. I had tried to book the 12:40 departure and was told at that time only the 7:45 departure was available. I called back this afternoon (the on-line system was showing all Puerto Vallarta excursions sold out) and was able to change to the 12:40 time. So, if you really wanted the 12:40 time, call DCL back, you'll probably be able to change!!

When I was in Puerto Vallarta about 6 yrs ago on a cruise, the best thing we did was to get off the ship and take one of the many taxis waiting to take us around the island. It was wonderful. He took us wherever we wanted to go and also showed us some places that were special on the island. We were two couples and it cost us $150(total) in an air conditioned van from 8:30am until 4:30pm. It was so nice just going at our own pace.

we want to do our own thing too . do you remember the name of any public beac to go to? thanks

I don't think that kids would like traveling around the island we take taxi when I go with husband alone. But grandsons are 10yrs old and 4 yrs old we are going to the hotel and the beach.

We didn't go to a beach but that was our choice, we drove all over the city. Went to see tour a couple of hotels that we wanted to see, went shopping in different parts of the city and one area was wonderful as it was a local shopping area with very very few tourists. We had lunch out, did some other sightseeing. We had a ball and love the place so much that it is one location we are dying to go back to. I think a lot of it had to do on the fact that we saw so much
