We traveled to Orlando this past weekend to look at some property down there. Naturally being a passholder, I would have to stay OP and sneak into the parks.

Well we left Boston Friday morning and had to be home Sunday evening. It was just DH and I with another couple. I booked 2 rooms at the AKL with king beds, a nice treat for us. When we checked in the CSR made a quick call and when she hung up she leaned over and kinda whispered to us she was giving us 2 Savanna rooms! Well I'll be!!!! We all just kinda stood there with our mouths hanging open. What a nice surprise! Of course we felt SUPER guilty all weekend thinking our kids would have loved this!!

What a nice resort AKL is!! We had a blast.

Whats your magic story?

On our first stay at the BC we had a standard view room booked. It was my 4yoDD 1st trip and she "helped" me check in. she was chatting away with the CM telling him how excited she was to see cinderella, the fireworks, the plane ride down, everything she wanted to see with her sister (8yo)...non-stop jabbering...when we were done he said to Mallory.."wait until you see your room"! We didn't realize until we checked in that he had upgraded us to a wonderful waterview room with a huge balcony......

she drew him a picture and we all added our thanks....

a wonderful special way to start the trip

That is awsome! A priceless trip im sure!

Wow that's awesome! You didn't even have to do anything for it! LOL! We got upgraded last trip, but dh had to "work" for it. So it wasn't a magical thing like yours!

Those are great, I love it, Disney at its best. Here is an early one for us, buried a bit in this report... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=30391 Still remember her name, Xenia. And when we finally got there, our upgraded lagoon view was further upgraded to concierge when we checked in. And his name, Orlando. My family experienced the best.

I feel real lucky

My last three trip I was upgraded to concierge at no extra cost:teeth:

Several years ago we were upgraded to a Jr. Suite at the BC for our aniversary. It was on the ground floor by the quiet pool.

On a trip a couple years ago, we had made our reservations for Sunday through Sunday at the AKL.....and then found out that our plans on Saturday had gotten cancelled before we'd booked our flight. We were using points rather than $$$, so we decided to try to get into the All-Star for Friday and Saturday night before transferring to the AKL. Reservations made, we headed for Orlando a few weeks later.

When we got to check-in at the All Star Music, there was a line practically around the block  But we dutifully waited our turn until we got to the front desk...and found out that they'd over-booked. Well, when the girl behind the desk found out we were only staying a couple days before transferring, she was on the phone and next thing I knew, we had our room at the AKL for the duration of our stay...FOR ALL-STAR RATES :) :) :)

Booked standard view at BC for our 30th anniversary a few years ago. When we checked in we were upgraded to a jr suite on the first floor by the quiet pool. It was a great start to our celebration!!

It didn't happen to us in WDW but we were upgraded in Las Vegas. I had always wanted to stay at the Venetian and so when we got the chance to go to Vegas we decided to stay there. When we were booked in we were upgraded to a high roller suite. It had a complete view of the Las Vegas strip, 4 toilets, a 12 seater marble dining table, 2 jacuzzis, a jet steam room and our own sauna!! The room even came with its own butler!! (But we didn't use him.)

Wow! Did you ask for that, or did they just do it? I've heard of that happening to people, but never 3 times in a rolw! Lucky you!

off season and a nice attitude helps

Not at Disney, but on our honeymoon cruise, our TA booked us under my mother's frequent cruiser number instead of mine. That bumped us up to "Diamond" status, which included lotsa free food in the room, like chocolate covered strawberries. Nice benefit!

Our last stay at Y & BC we checked in and were given a key. They were busy so our bags were 'in line' to be brought up later.
Imagine our surprise when we opened the door to the room and found.....................someone else's stuff everywhere!!!! Unpacked suitcases, toiletries, shoes and towels on the floor, unmade beds, etc.
We high-tailed it back down to the front desk. The CM was furious - apparently this family had done this before. They were supposed to check out but had kept one copy of the key and left their stuff in the room! The CM apologized profusely and moved us to a beautiful lagoon-view suite. So, for about 15 seconds of discomfort, we had a week of bliss!

We stayed at the AKL September/October 2002. 2 days before the trip we found out that I was pregnant with our dd so we already felt magical. At check-in, without us making any requests, we were upgraded from a standard view to a savannah. I was thrilled!

That is the only time we have received an upgrade at WDW or anywhere else for that matter.

Ahhhh yes, how well we remember. It was just 2 nights at BWV for we were going on DVC Members Cruise. We booked a standard view suite. (can we say small?) When we opened our door we were "treated" to a 1 br. DH liked that soooo much that he added 100 more points while on the cruise. This entitled us to entry into the drawing for a free week stay through Interval International. We won a week in Cancun.
:earsgirl: :earsboy: :sunny: Life is beautiful.

Wow.... you all must live right. The only thing that comes to mind for me is not at all "magical". On our honeymoon to the Carribbean Beach.... booked through a TA months in advance, requested room with king bed. Arrived and were told that there were no king beds available that night.... :sad1: But we were on our HONEYMOON... was no one listening? They offered to move us as soon as one became available. We got moved the next day....oh well...............P

Yes - just last week at the GF...we had booked two standard view rooms and were upgraded to Lagoon View. I didn't even ask...we just found out when we arrived at the rooms. It was a nice treat!
