The last time I got my DH to WDW was for our 10th anniversary and my birthday. We stayed at the YC. When I checked in I found out that we had received an upgrade to concierge. It sure was nice. They said they had overbooked the regular rate rooms and would I MIND being moved? Nope, no problem with that!

Same experience as Virgo 10, but at CR. They hadn't really overbooked, but a tour bus pulled in just before us, and that group had more people than # of rooms reserved. The CM also asked us if we MINDED.

We also got an upgrade to a suite in Toronto when my husband showed up in a cast and on crutches, and we asked about a wheelchair rental for our stay. (It was a business meeting and he had injured his foot the week before; too late to cancel.)

Acquaintances of ours (at a different meeting) got upgraded at The Ritz when they couldn't get a room with a King bed, as they had specifically requested. The only King available was in the Presidential Suite, so that's what they got...at standard rate!

I think I posted this once before, but during Easter Week '03, my husband and dd decided to come down to watch my DS march at MK. I was going with my DS on the bus and staying with him at a shabby Ramada.

I called Disney and tried to book them into Al Sports, where the rest of my family was staying. They didn't have any preferred rooms left, so they asked me if they would like to stay at Coronado Springs or POR for the same price as the value resort. I went with POR and they loved it.
