We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

I haven't seen the Magic, Memories and You show.... tell me a little more about it?

I remember when i was a kid I waited forever to see mickey. I had an autograph book but mom had sent me up without the pen, thinking he probably had one he just used for all of them. For the record, he did not. I was a little perturbed about that, and since it was 28 years ago and I still remember, it must have been a big deal! Not so big though...that i even have said autograph book anymore ;)

The Magic, Memories and You show is new show that started last year. It happens right before Wishes and is a show that is projected right onto the castle itself. The castle seems to transform and come to life right before you eyes - it turns into It's a Small world, blasts off into space, turns into balloows being released into the sky, etc. It's all set to a soundtrack of classic Disney music and quotes and also includes some projections of Photopass pictures of guests taken throughout the day. It's best to see it somewhat close to the castle so you can really see all the effects. I love it. I am sure that you can you tube it or google it and see a video of it. It's really cool in person, though.

Oh no! I am sorry to hear about your traumatizing experience. ;) Hopefully all these trips to Disney will help make up for it in our daughter's mind. She's definitely a lucky duck that she gets to go so many times. She loves looking through her autograph book.

Okay, time for some quick comments as I get caught back up!!!

Love, love, love those pictures of her with Rapunzel!! :goodvibes

As random as this may be, I also like the picture of her on Dumbo. Mainly because of the background! Sunset at WDW is my favorite time of the day. All the lights are coming on and it just seems like another magical part of WDW has come to life.

Hi Tink!!!!!! I've missed you! Does this mean you'll be starting your PTR soon?

Thanks, she loves Rapunzel. She wears the dress, she has a couple rapunzel dolls too.

Sunset at WDW is pretty. Especially before it gets too dark. I love when the lights on Main Street come on. So, not that random!

Awww, how cute that she has the Minnie dress pose! Adorable!

HAHA, she nodded to being locked up in a tower! That's such a funny moment!

I just read recently that the tomato soup at Pinocchio's Village Haus is very good. I'm kind of intrigued! I love a good tomato soup! Have you or your DH had the one at Earl before? How does it compare?

What a wonderful CM who helped you before MSEP! I too would have panicked. With so many people just waiting around and sitting already especially in the dark, I might have even started crying!

She certainly has her poses down pat. And she still pops into them when taking pictures.

Yes, she totally said that we locked her up in a tower! I was like - no! We really don't!

We really liked the tomato soup at Pinocchio's Village Haus - it wasn't too tomato-y (is that a word). I haven't tried the one from Earl so I can't compare those. It was a nice surprise though when we found that since we find the counter services options at MK to be a bit lacking for our tastes.

I have to admit that if the CM hadn't found me, I probably would have been in tears in minutes. I was definitely panicking.

Oh - and I finally read the KK4 book and can not wait to read the next one! I was waiting for it to come out in paperback but I may just need to borrow the next one frm the library. It takes so long for them to come out in paperback!

After our busy day of park hopping, we woke up on Sunday with plans to once again cram as much as we could into our “last” day at Disney. (Yup, that may be quotation marks around the word last – that may or may not be a hint……)

See this look? This is our little girl telling us to get a move on.

ry%3D400

We have places to be and characters to see. She even practiced her Minnie Mouse pose in the elevator since she was dressed like Minnie.

ry%3D400

Our plan for the day entailed – character breakfast buffet at the Swan, hanging out at Typhoon Lagoon, and ending our trip with a signature meal at Flying Fish. I think we drove to the BC and parked there so my husband could get his Beach Club fix. He needs to smell the lobby and just walk through the lobby doors at least once a trip. Plus, it’s just a quick leisurely walk along the Boardwalk to the neighboring hotel.

I was trying to get a nice scenic shot but someone was a bit impatient.

ry%3D400

My husband with his favorite background.

ry%3D400

And just a friendly little gecko….with an orange bulge. What the…..?

ry%3D400

I happen to think the weekend breakfast buffet at the Swan is a perfect way to get in a character meal at the last minute. The only definite plan we had for the trip was the ADR for dinner, so this breakfast idea was a last minute addition. They don’t take reservations for breakfast and it wasn’t a bad wait at all. I think we waited maybe 5 minutes before we were seated. Plus, the food is pretty good. Not that our little girl cared about the food. She only cared about one thing.

ry%3D400

Yup, seeing her friends. See how happy she is now?

ry%3D400

Pluto and Goofy came one right after each other so there wasn’t too much time to focus on our food just yet.

ry%3D400

She was just enamored.

ry%3D400

Now we could start eating. Why, hello Mickey waffles. We've missed you so.

ry%3D400

I do have to say that while they looked the same, they didn’t taste the same to us. It could have just been an off day, but they didn’t taste like the addicting Mickey waffles at the resorts and the parks. Hmmmm. Not sure why. That’s okay, my omelet won me over.

ry%3D400

My hubby telling me to stop taking pictures of our breakfast so he can eat. I think he was trying out the Eggs Benedict.

ry%3D400

Here’s someone who doesn’t mind that I take a lot of pictures.

ry%3D400

For some reason Pluto stopped by again. Either that or our little girl accosted him into stopping – which is a totally feasible possibility.

ry%3D400

At least you can see that she is making some headway with her breakfast. Although, once a friend stops by, all bets are off. Huge hug for Dale.

ry%3D400

I guess he does look pretty cuddly too.

ry%3D400

Here is the large tree in the center of the restaurant.

ry%3D400

I have to admit that prior to our May trip in 2010, I was always getting Garden Grove confused with Garden Grill. It made the ADR process a little more difficult, but all better now. I do want to try Garden Grill one day.

Chip got a big hug too.

ry%3D400

He must have been just as cuddly because he also garnered a big smile.

ry%3D400

Now it’s time for a little prom picture pose with Chip.

ry%3D400

A full belly after a fun breakfast with furry friends = a happy little girl and her mommy.

ry%3D400

No idea what pose we are rocking here. No idea. It’s not even close to being a heart.

ry%3D400

Since I’m on vacation, I always feel the need to pose with signs. But we love the Boardwalk area.

ry%3D400

wait, daddy! I need to get in the picture too! And pose…..

ry%3D400

Oh, you didn’t like that pose? Okay, I’ll try another one. And pose…..

ry%3D400

Alrighty then, enough with the posing, time for some swimming! It’s typhoon time!

Pictures of your little one with characters never gets old! She is just the cutest! :cutie:

We love that area too! It is just so beautiful and serene and I :lovestruc the smell of the BC! :)

D for Disney!!! :thumbsup2

Glad you guys enjoyed Garden Grove for breakfast!! (I always mix the Grill and the Grove up in my head too!) I've been for the non-character breakfast there, it's always pretty good!

Hmm..."last" day? I wonder what day of your trip this actually was!

I'm glad you like them because there will be more to come! She loves her characters. I just ordered her another autograph book for this next trip and told her that we needed to only put in her absolute musts meets because it's a shorter trip with more people.

The BC does have such a nice smell to it, doesn't it? We always sniff all the different beachy candles in various stores hoping to find a similar smell.

Haha, D for Disney, I like that! ok, we'll go with that.

While most of the breakfasts I have on vacation are pretty good, I was happy to get some good bacon that morning. For some reason, the bacon at Disney is a bit lacking. Glad I am not the only one that mixes us the two places.

Hmmm, yes, we shall see what Irene did to our travel plans....

Isn't it funny how Disney characters turn so many frowns upside down :)
Great update :thumbsup2

Great idea for a last minute character meal and it looks like plenty of character interaction, too.

Your omelet looks yummy!

I love the Boardwalk area and can't wait to stay there this summer! :goodvibes

Fun breakfast! I've never even head of that one! Your DD is so adorable, love the poses all the time-especially the one with the Boardwalk sign. My DH is kind of obsessed with the beach club too :lmao:

Right? Disney can just make you instantly happy again. I know it works for me! Thanks for reading!

It definitely has worked for us twice as last minute character meals. It's only on the weekends and I think those are the characters that are usually there, but I think it's good enough. And the food is pretty tasty. I love the make your own omelet bar. I can put my order in and fill up my plate a bit and then go back and collect my omelet. Now I am hungry......

The omelet was good! Thanks!

Where are you staying again? I love that area and am so excited to go back soon! We loved the Swan and Dolphin the last time we were there so I hope we like it again this time around. And always good that I get the nurse's discount! :thumbsup2

I only know of this breakfast because I was researching places in the Swan and Dolphin for that year we stayed there. We enjoyed it then and found it pretty good again. I think many people are obsessed with the Beach Club. Our obsession stems from staying there a few years back. I do have to say that the biggest drawback was their lack of a decent food court. The food mart was just so tiny and limited.

My vacation begins with one night off site (not sure where yet) then checking into SSR bright and early. We have a treehouse for 5 nights. :cool1: The my DH and I are going over to the BWV for 3 nights and I have a 4th night waitlisted. I definitely want to explore the Swan and Dolphin a little bit more and that breakfast looks so great. do you know if they take Tables In Wonderland there? I'll have to check that out.

Hahah I can see why you would be a little confused about the difference between Garden Grill and Grove... they have practically all the same characters! How funny. It seems weird that a character breakfast wouldn't be so popular! It also seems weird that the Mickey waffles weren't great... hmmm. :confused3

CUTE pictures once again! :cutie:

I loved reading your TRs, and I'm looking forward to reading more!! Our next trip isn't until December (:yay:), so this is really helping with my Disney withdrawal:). Your daughter is adorable!

oooh, I hear the treehouse villas are so nice! I would love to stay there one day. I will be living vicariously through your photos once again.

I don't now if they take TIW since we aren't AP holders. But there are definitely a few places there that we wanted to eat at once DD is a bit older.

Right? Not only do the names sound similar, but the characters are almost the same too! Only Garden Grill has them in cute farmer clothes. I attribute both things with the facts that the Swan & Dolphin are technically Disney hotels. The food was still good, just didn't give us the Mickey waffle fix that we had been craving.

Thanks! And I take it that you are a NICU nurse? :thumbsup2 Oh, a december trip will be awesome with all of the decorations. One day I will see them all in person! Thanks for reading along!

How'd you guess? ;)

We've always gone from the end of October through the beginning of November. When we get there, all of the Halloween decorations are up; and, halfway through, they put up the Christmas decor. Unfortunately, none of the Christmas shows start until after we leave:sad2:! So we're really excited to get to fully experience Christmas at the World:woohoo:

I would love to experience all of that one day. However, after our recent February trip, I have been hesitant to attempt any travel plans in the winter. Then you thrown in Hurricane Irene and I am weary of late summer as well. I would love to see all the parks decorated for the holidays though. Maybe November before Thanksgiving would be good......but first, saving up the money. At this rate, our house will never get updated since we keep taking trips!
