We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

Love that she was practicing her poses!! I sure hope that you got to see Rapunzel, those waits were monsterous.

Do I detect an extra day in the works? :lmao:

She still does her poses at home too.

Um, what sucks is that is sounds as though the waits aren't any better now and I think she really wants to meet Rapunzel again. Since we miss each other by a day or two, I should find a way to get the info from you on what the wait is like. It's more a family vacation and less a full on park vacation so there won't be park hopping and it's a one day shot at getting the MK done. So I am already nervous about how the character meeting is going to go.

There may be an extra day in the works........:rolleyes1

It's too funny that you remember the details of Irene so clearly! You will just have to wait a smidgen longer to see what happens with our return flight....

Well, my older son was sent home from college that weekend. Imagine having Irene during your freshman orientation! He never got to check in because of the school's proximity to the coast and Denny and I were supposed to go to Williamsburg that weekend, so we were anxiously waiting to see what would happen with the weather. Yup - I remember that weekend really well. It was freaking nuts!

Wait, did you write about that in your TR? Because that sounds vaguely familiar. Irene caused more issues as we also had plans for Labor Day weekend somewhat in your neck of the woods and we didn't know what kind of damage the storm was bring about. Last year was not a good year for travelling for us.

Your little girl racing to meet the characters???? I'm shocked and amazed!! ;) She is so adorable!

I'm interested to hear about how Irene impacted your trip home. Hopefully not too much!!

I did. :rotfl2: In fact, I rented points for the same Williamsburg TS owner for late April and I said jokingly "let's hope there aren't anymore hurricanes or other natural disasters". :rotfl: He must have thought I was serious because he informed me that there are no hurricanes in Virginia in April.

Right? Who would have thought that she would be interested in seeing characters? Surprise, surprise. Actually, you should have seen her this morning. She wanted to dress like Minnie Mouse today and then got to the top of the stairs and struck her Minnie Mouse pose. :rotfl: My husband was like - oh geez.

Yes, first the blizzards in February with trying to get to Disney and now Irene.....

Hmm, he only said no hurricaines. What about natural disasters? ;) Williamsburg should be BEAUTIFUL in late April. Perfect sightseeing weather is my guess. Not too hot and spring will have bloomed.

just now finding your trip report. looking forward to reading it all!

Well, :welcome: and I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for reading!

I'm back an all caught up. :)

I love the poses. She's very observant because I don't think too many children take notice of the details she seems to :thumbsup2

After all that I sure hope you got to see Rapunzel!

yay, you're back! Can't wait to hear/read about your trip.

Seriously, she is so observant. She is always surprising me with the things that she notices. As you know, she is obsessed with the princesses and girls.

Update coming right up so you'll see if we get to see Rapunzel!

So when I last left off, we were approaching the Fairytale Garden to see how far back in line my husband was to meet Rapunzel. I was hoping that it wasn’t going to be a 2 hour wait. We rounded the corner and saw the line that was stetching along the wall…….and he definitely wasn’t in the front half. He was close to the end of the line so we met up with him and talked about what the wait was going to be and whether or not we should continue to wait. I mean, we only had this one day at Disney and I didn’t know if I wanted to spend it in this super long line.

But, as we were discussing things, the CM up front started letting people in for the next meet with Rapunzel. Apparently you wait in the line and for each Meet and Greet session with Rapunzel, they will let in a set group of people at a time. Then you are let into wait a little more in the courtyard area. So while we pretty far back in line, we were actually let in to the next meet session. Once inside, we waited a bit, made a quick bathroom run and watched the other little princesses meet Rapunzel. There was many a purple princess dress in the area. Then it happened…..

Our little girl looked at us and asked us for her autograph book. We had brought along the same book from her February trip just in case we ran into some characters that we hadn’t gotten earlier…..and left it in the hotel room:eek:……..and someone was very sad.

I desperately searched for a random piece of paper, anything in our park bag that we might be able to use for an autograph, but no luck. And I wasn’t about to buy a book just for one autograph since we were almost done with the day. I felt so bad. Bad mommy. It’s okay though, she soon got over it.

ry%3D400

Because she got to meet her new favorite princess, Rapunzel.

ry%3D400

They had such a cute conversation. This Rapunzel was so cute and peppy!

ry%3D400

She was talking about how happy she was to be outside and out of the tower, how her mother kept her in the tower for so long, and just asking questions to our little girl. She then asked her if she was locked up in a room too, and what did our little girl do? Nod her head, yes!! Um, I swear we don’t! Rapunzel looked up at us in shock and started laughing then. Ah, the joys of conversing with a toddler.

No idea what she had said.

ry%3D400

All in all, it was a cute interaction and Rapunzel does take her time with each person. And I am so glad it didn’t take 2 hours. Although it did take probably about 45 minutes total from when my husband got in line.

ry%3D400

And I just wanted to share one last Rapunzel photo with you. I put this together so that I can hang it up in her room at some point. What do you think? I really like it and it makes me happy. I am hoping that my little princess will like it. I consider it my very own Disney ad. haha.

ry%3D400

So after our meeting with Rapunzel, we wandered around a bit and got ready for some nighttime festivities. We did stop off to say hello to a little elephant.

ry%3D400

And check out some holiday decorations. Someone wanted a new stocking. Christmas is only 6 months away, it's never too soon to start thinking about decorations, right?

ry%3D400

Since we didn’t give her a new stocking, she talked her way into a new light up toy. Yes, she is an only child and she has us wrapped around her little finger.

We continued our tradition of chowing down on food while waiting for the Main Street Electrical parade to start. We found a spot near the Hub and I went off in search of food. I stopped off at Pinocchio’s Village Haus and grabbed some tomato soup for the hubby and then ran to Columbia Harbor House for our usual platter of fried shrimp and fish. So I headed back to the Hub, precariously balancing all the food, and found……lot’s of people that were not related to me. :scared1:

I walked back to the exact spot and saw no familiar faces. I walked back and forth, still no luck. I saw that what looked like the perfect front line spot had changed and was now blocked off differently. I had interpreted the taped lines wrong. So I figured that meant that my husband had moved to a new spot. But I had no idea where. And I quickly started to panic. There were hundreds of people sitting around waiting, it was dark out and the lights had dimmed, and I had lsot my family. Lucky for me, a really nice castmember spotted me and must have seen my distressed look and offered to help. He steered me over to a spot where I could put all the food down and then dig out my cell phone to call my husband. He even stayed with me and then helped carry the food to the new spot – down in Frontierland. It was so nice of him and I really wish I had gotten his name so that I could thank him with one of those written cards. I was just so panicked at the time that I couldn’t think straight. He made small talk with me while we walked over and tried to calm me down from my frenzied panicked state from earlier. That probably helped my husband out too, because I am sure he would have gotten an earful from me about moving around if I had still been all worked up. This nice man even came by at the end of the parade to ask us if we had enjoyed the show. I really wish I had gotten his name just so I could thank him and tell him how much it helped me. It’s those little things that makes Disney special.

Anyways, back to the parade. Here comes a bunch of MSEP pictures!

Then it was back to the Hub.

It was time for my two favorite shows. Wishes is my absolute favorite and the new castle show is a close second. Here are a few of the pics from Magic, Memories and you. I even have the music for both shows on my Ipod. Cue the music now…..

A twinkle of light, a tower so tall….

Wish on a star, wherever you are, You can make a favorite memory

ry%3D400

You sail 'round the world
You fly through the air
So high in the sky that you can see most anywhere

ry%3D400

Every day a favorite memory
Share another perfect memory
Open up your heart and let the memories begin!

ry%3D400

Sigh, love it. Then it was time for Wishes, but I have no photos of that. Our little princess had fallen asleep on my lap by this point. So my husband and I just sat there and enjoyed the show together while I covered her ears from the loud fireworks.

I love this!!! So precious!!! :goodvibes

The M&G with Rapunzel sounds really cute! Too funny that your little girl told her that she lives in a tower though! :rotfl:

I'd never want to navigate parade crowds at night holding food! That was very nice of the CM to help you out!

Even with the mixup on the autograph book it sounds like a magical evening :goodvibes

Ya just never know what is going to come out of a child's mouth do you :rotfl:

The pictures are all so cute! I love the ones of the castle memory show too! We saw that close up for the first time this trip and I loved it :lovestruc

That pic you made of Rapunzal and you DD is adorable

So glad you didn't have a long wait for Rapunzel. Another wonderful photoshoot.

OMG - I can't believe your DH moved that far away and you needed to find him. What a wonderful CM to help you. :thumbsup2

Very pretty pictures of the castle. I am finally going to see that show in June! It's taken me forever! :rotfl:

Oh my goodness, I LOVE that photo you made! It's just perfect. AHHHH DISNEY.

Thank goodness for awesome CMs! :worship:

The Magic, the Memories, and You is seriously the best thing ever. Even reading those words made me tear up (and proceed to hum/sing the rest of the song...) AHHHH! :lovestruc

Fantastic Rapunzel picture!!! 45 mins is too bad for her. I think we waited that long for the fairies.

We may be able to work something out so that I can alert you to the lines. We'll chat closer to.

What a great CM!! That was so nice of him, he probably saved the night.

I love, love, love the M,M,&Y show, sometimes I watch it on youtube when I need to cry a little :rotfl:

Yes, she would still complain a bit here and there about not having the book, but it was okay. I mean, she still got to see her.

Yes, the funniest things do come out of their mouths! You should have seen our faces when she said that.

Isn't it the best show? I am sure Caitlin has some awesome pics of that show. I seriously love, love, love it.

Thank you! I am so happy whenever I see that. I really want to make one for her big Jessie moment and her Annie moment too, but not sure yet on quotes.

So glad you didn't have a long wait for Rapunzel. Another wonderful photoshoot.

Thanks missy! She does enjoy her photos with the characters.

I know, right? I was like, seriously? That was a big move you made! The CM seriously saved my night. I was melting fast and probably would have ended up in tears real soon.

Thank you! I am glad that other people like it too. I didn't know if it would just be me and that other people would find it cheesy. Her room could seriously be a Disney promo with all the pics that will eventual adorn her walls.

I know, the CMs just make the trips that much better at Disney!

Isn't that an awesome show? It blew my mind the first time I saw it. I love that it also gives me the same magical feeling that Wishes does.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Since we got into the next meet, it worked out great. I don't know what we would have decided to do if we had to wait for another round. She really wants to see his this next trip too.....

Yes, we'll have to figure out a way so that I can plan better or try to prepare her for the possibility of not seeing as many characters if it's crowded.

The CM sure saved the night! I ended up not yelling at my hubby for moving so far away.

Aw, I can see that as a good idea too. DD has me pull up the Move It, Shake It parade all the time.

I haven't seen the Magic, Memories and You show.... tell me a little more about it?

I remember when i was a kid I waited forever to see mickey. I had an autograph book but mom had sent me up without the pen, thinking he probably had one he just used for all of them. For the record, he did not. I was a little perturbed about that, and since it was 28 years ago and I still remember, it must have been a big deal! Not so big though...that i even have said autograph book anymore ;)
