We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

the sky even looks cold in your pictures! thanks for the piggy bank info. i'd heard of that one, but didn't know the details. i think my kiddos would love it!

Sounds like a fun afternoon, well except for the seagulls.

I love all the poses your little one comes up with. She is such a cutie :cutie:

That is about the coolest hopscotch ever!

Yes, the seagulls were very aggressive that trip. We barely noticed them in August, but there was no avoiding them that day!

I don't know where she comes up with half of her poses. You should see her at home when she is dancing along with the tv and posing.

That was a cute hopscotch board, right?

I have never really explored Innoventions, but I sort of want to! It seems like there's a lot of fun things to do in there... the piggy bank activity seems cute and it would be fun to make some paper! Maybe if I have time next trip I can stop in there.
I'm so sorry it was cold :( Ugh I'm going in December, so I'm praying that it won't be freezing. But who knows, really.
Haha the pictures with you guys in the background are really funny :rotfl:
It sounds like you got to do a lot before your friends left! So that's fun!
And sorry about the seagulls.... They loved to swarm around us in January and February so I completely understand how you felt
Thanks for updating! I can't wait to read more!

We usually don't take the time to explore Innovention, but with the lower crowds and cooler temps in February, we were able to do a lot more (plus the lack of roller coasters in our itinerary). I saw the paper making activity in someone else's TR and have wanted to try it ever since.

I think December can get chilly too, but it looke like we just happened to be there on a cooler week. It was warming up again on our last days there and it was still warmer than New England in February!

And I finally got caught up on your TR. Thanks for reading along!

I think little kids love the piggy bank game. My girl found it so much fun just to carry around the piggy bank. And it's not like she doesn't have her own at home? :confused3

It was a bit cooler than we like on our vacations, but it's okay. At least we weren't dripping sweat like on past trips.

That is too funny that you guys were cheesin' in those pictures! And that your hubby just likes to appear in random photos. His whole "picture with a Brazilian Tour Group" idea is awesome! I may have to implement that on my upcoming trip in October......

You are so right that the seagulls in Epcot are scary! I'm surprised you didn't see me screaming and running away from them.

Ah, yes, we have now passed on the "random photo" trick to our 13 year old nephew. He found that to be a brilliant idea and tried it out while we were in Universal. My husband is much taller than me so he was able to pop his head up at the top of the crowds in the background. You should definitely do it in October! :thumbsup2 We can start a new game - like spot the DISer!

Perhaps my screaming was blocking out any other noises so I didn't hear your cries of terror.

I never thought Disney could be that cold until this past December...one day we were there the day temperatures were less than 40 degrees! Our coats barely were put away during our trip, I hated having to wear it so much!

Love your photopass shots, how funny you were sneaking into the background!

I know, we've only ever done Disney/Florida when it's warm/hot out, so it was so wierd to have to layer up while we were there. You don't want to have to wear a coat when you have travelled south for vacation!

Yes, we were cracking up the whole time we were invading their pic. It was a fun moment.;)

Luvin the update! I so wanna meet Marie and Duffy this trip!

great update! Love that you and your DH were sneaking into the photos. I have a waiter friend who would always get into the photos the guests were taking.

I just saw the shout-out! I feel so special to have been mentioned! She got to make paper; that's so exciting!

All caught up! The Innoventions building is one that we skip most of the time. There have been a couple of things lately that I have read about in there that is making me think about scheduling a little time for our next visit. The bank game looks super cute. Dylan would probably like it.

The PP pictures were funny. I love the idea of doing that to tour groups. The pictures in France were really pretty in front of the fountain. That's too bad that it was so cold. When we were there last December, right at the end of our trip it was starting to get really cold. When we got home, it was all over the news about the deep freeze they were having there. We felt lucky to have left when we did!

Those pigs are just so adorable! I want to play that game just so that I can get a picture with it, haha.

It was so much fun being able to make paper. I want to do it again next May and write something like, "Disneymoon" on it and put it in a scrapbook!

Haha, love how you guys were photobombing!

Boy, just seeing your pics with DD all bundled up makes me feel chilly now!

Thanks! Marie and Duffy are out in Epcot pretty often, so I hope you get a chance to meet them too!

Thanks, we had a lot of fun with our friends this trip. And the photo crashing was just a bit spur of the moment, but so fun to do! That's funny about your waiter friend - did he make wierd faces too?

Hi Tink! I miss reading about your life and adventures. Your TR was one of the first ones that got me hooked so I remember so much from your trips and think of you all the time when I am there. Can't wait to read about your wedding planning! Let me know when you start the PTR.

We used to skip the Innoventions buildings all the time too, but since we have gone a bit more frequently recently, we have done more exploring. She loved carrying the piggy bank around.

Yes, my hubby quite enjoyed popping into the tour group photos. He was tall enough that his head would just be visible and he would just stand there and grin. It was cold in February, but not too bad. We just aren't used to touring Disney when it's not super hot and humid out.

You should totally do the game on your Disneymoon. Just for the photo ops alone. The game is pretty quick so it won't take too much time. And I learned about saving money. :thumbsup2

Um, the paper thing is totally up your alley. I bet you could totally do something cute for your special trip! They had their own stamp there to use, but maybe you could pack one of your own?

Man, I started off this TR updating at a pretty good clip. Now I have fallen a bit behind. Sorry for that, but at least I am able to fit in another quick post. Hope y'all are still with me!

Since we had a little bit of time to kill and wanted to warm ourselves up a bit, we headed back into Innoventions. Some of the adults were interested in test driving the Segways. I had checked the time and realized that it was time for the Disney Visa Meet and Greet. So while everyone else was riding around on two wheels, the munchkin and I headed over to get in line. Lucky for us, it was a pretty short line.

The cast member took one look at my little princess in her Minnie Mouse hoodie with her Minnie Mouse pendant necklace and said, “let me guess….is your favorite character Minnie Mouse?”

And my little girl looked at him shyly and nodded her head in confirmation. When we asked him who was behind the curtain, he said it was a surprise. Soon we had reached the front of the line and the cast member said it was just going to be a few minutes, they were waiting for a special friend to arrive.

I hadn’t done the Visa character meet before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t know if we would just see one character or more, but I was hoping it would be someone my little girl would like. Imagine our delight when we walked in and saw not one, but two characters waiting for us – Minnie Mouse and Goofy!

She headed straight into the arms of Minnie Mouse.

ry%3D400

She seemed just as happy to see Goofy, too.

ry%3D400

They hugged it out for a little while.

ry%3D400

Then it was time for some posed pictures and our little girl just had to hold Minnie’s hand.

ry%3D400

She had taken off the Minnie Mouse sweatshirt at this point, but if you look carefully, you can just make out her Minnie Mouse pendant necklace. She wore that everyday while we were in Disney.

ry%3D400

I even got in one photo myself, but really, I think my little girl stole the shot here. She is just too cute sometimes (but I am biased).

ry%3D400

I mean, do you see her little pose?

ry%3D400

Poor Goofy, he was a bit off to the side by himself there, but it was kind of hard to compete against Minnie Mouse.

ry%3D400

Especially after Minnie handed her a sheet of special stickers.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Thank you Minnie Mouse!

ry%3D400

I love you, Minnie Mouse!

ry%3D400

Don’t worry, Goofy, you get another hug, too!

ry%3D400

That was well worth it! I had a hard time picking out which picture to get printed. Good thing I had preordered the cd- totally worth it this trip!

By this point, the rest of the group had finished up with the Segways and were playing around with the video game area. We reconvened and made our way to the front of the park. We hopped on Spaceship Earth one last time and then exited the park.

To be honest, I can’t remember what we did exactly after this. We said goodbye to our friends in the parking lot, but after that, my memory is a bit fuzzy. All I do know is that we ended the evening at the Wilderness Lodge (and that is only because I have the photo to prove it). This is what happens when I don’t write anything down and try to write this TR almost 8 months later. Whoops.

Anyways, my husband had never visited the Wilderness Lodge and I could tell he was impressed as soon as we entered the lobby. He was pretty much awed by the architecture inside.

I, of course, had to pose for the obligatory photo with the totem pole in the lobby.

ry%3D400

My little point and shoot camera on this particular setting does not do the lobby justice.

We walked around a bit, took in the atmosphere, and checked out the menu for Artist Point. After our experience at Flying Fish, we were debating changing our remaining ADRs to fit in another signature meal. We have found that resort hopping is a fun way to end our days at Disney, especially when the parks close so early during the off season.

Up Next: I smell strawberries!

Those Minnie Mouse pictures are TOO CUTE!!!
I didn't know you could test drive the segways. Did they have fun?
I love Wilderness lodge :) I made an ADR at Whispering Canyon for next trip just so I have an excuse to go there LOL

Thanks for the update! Can't wait to see what's next :wizard:

I didn't know you could test drive segways! My DH would LOVE to do that! Great Minnie pictures. I agree with you--she's adorable :goodvibes

That's so cute that Minnie was one of the characters to be met! And Goofy doesn't look too left out either! I wonder if they had found Minnie for her little fan or if she was supposed to be there already!

Great pictures! Your little one just looks so happy! I love that Visa greet area since it usually isn't very busy and you can meet more than one character at a time.

Isn't the WL pretty?! Staying there is on my "someday" list.

What a fun meet & greet! Your DD looks so happy in all the pictures :goodvibes I would have had a really hard time deciding which picture to print too!

We went to the WL for dinner a couple of years ago and I thought it was just beautiful. Can't wait to stay there - in just one week!!! :woohoo:

I must admit I am two updates behind because I always see you TR when I am at work (no pictures). But you are now third in line for me to view when I get home. Can't wait to see more PP pics of your lovely daughter. You sure did get your moneys worth out of that CD. :thumbsup2

Aw, thanks! Yes, she can definitely strike a cute pose and smile when she is in the mood - and she is almost always in the mood at Disney.

I don't know if you can still learn to use the segways or not, but it's pretty fun. I did it on one of our previous trips and my husband totally enjoyed it. You have to be a certain age to do the demo. One year I want to take one of those tours around Epcot on the Segways.

I totally want to try Whispering Canyon one day, so I'll look forward to your future review! :thumbsup2

I can't remember which Innoventions it was in, but we've done the Segway demo a few times. Or actually, I've done it once and my husband has done it multiple times. And thanks! Her character friends just bring out the happiness!
