We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

It's amazing, how crazy fans are. Just taking a plane to fly down to see the Super Bowl MVP in a parade at Disney. I'd have to stay for a week, if I did that! Haha, but that's me ;) Love the little gifts left in your room and I think this:

Is the towel form of a cyclops/elephant/cobra. Hehehehe :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a really nice dinner at Flying Fish! All the dishes sounded great. Especially those desserts :goodvibes Mmmm... creme brulee and I love the whole idea behind the kids dessert. I may just get that to fulfill my lost childhood dream of playing with my food before I eat it :P Hahahaha

Those are some fantastic pictures of IllumiNations. Where exactly wore you? I may have to scope out that spot the next time I go. ::yes:: And yeah, Fireworks are the best way to end a day at Disney.

Can't wait to read about your ADR the next morning! :mickeyjum

Your dinner at Flying Fish sounds great! That is another restaurant on my list to try, there are so many places I haven't been yet that I want to go to, I see many trips in my future to accomplish this ;)

Creme Brulee is my favorite dessert, so I would have been all over yours, but how fun was your DD's dessert?!

Love the family photo in France, such a great picture! And being able to just walk over to Epcot for Illuminations - awesome :cloud9:

Oh no, rain! :headache: While I understand there's nothing you can do about, I just don't like it to rain on our trips!

I know how important nap time is! Driving around, looking at houses, and dreaming sounds like so much fun! We love to drive around and explore new places. And what better time to do that than when your little one was sleeping?! Perfect!

Oh yum, your food looks so good! I'm going to have to check out the whole menu. And yes, she rocked that scarf! You go girl! :cutie:

That pic with France in the background is so good!!

Sounds like you guys had a wonderful Disney evening! Flying Fish looks great, and how nice that they're so accomodating to the little ones! That dessert does look awesome - why can't adults paint their food too?

I know, right? I don't even know how long that guy stayed at Disney. But he sure was a dedicated fan to fly to the Superbowl and then fly over to Orlando - not to mention the cost of a park entry ticket just to watch the parade! I wish I had that kind of money at my disposable.

hmm, nice guess on the towel animal. Maybe it's a new breed?

yes, the dinner at Flying Fish was sooooo good. I am sorry about not getting pics, but I didn't know if I would be writing a TR. I do know that I got just as much fun out of playing with my daughter's dessert. She was occupised with the cupcake so i got a chance to paint her puzzle in between bites of my creme brulee. :goodvibes

as for our spot for illuminations - I forget where it was exactly in terms of what countries, but it is one of those lower patio areas that I usually see roped off. I've seen wedding receptions and other functions there before, so I was happy to see it open and empty!:thumbsup2

We did enjoy our dinner. Your review of Jiko and obvious love of that restaurant makes me want to try it one day, too. It's just not as high on my husband's list. We have different tastes and Flying Fish was a compromise for us. You're right though, so many places to eat at in Disney!

I love creme brulee too, and I loved it there. The maple one at Le Cellier is a bit sweet for me, but this one was divine.

Hi Tink! I figured you would also understand about naptimes. The good thing for us is that we have had the luxury (like you guys) of going to Disney often enough that we don't need to go commando on our trips. Although my hubby may disagree with that - he thinks I get a little park crazy. :confused3

I don't like it to rain on our vacations either, but it was okay since we were just inside eating for most of it.

Have you started planning your Dismoon/honeymoon yet? I was going to ask you on FB, but couldn't find you. :confused3

I like that France pic too, the whole feeling just looks different in there.

I was worried about some of the Grand Floridian restaurants being a bit too "nice" for us to bring a toddler, so this place worked out great. I have to admit, I was a bit jealous when her dessert came out. I hear that they have that dessert at a few of the signatures.

oh, Flying Fish is so yummy!!! i was going to ask if i could order the kids dessert and then last minute i decided to order something off the adult menu. I'm glad i did because it was my favorite dessert all week.
i'm glad the rain helped with the crowd levels for illuminations:thumbsup2

I got rid of my FB, so that's why you couldn't find me.

We have started thinking abot where we want to stay and stuff. We are thinking a couple nights at Vero Beach, then the rest of the trip at WDW we want to stay at the Poly. I've been thinking about places for us to eat. Fiance has requested one place he for sure wants to eat: Le Cellier!

There were a lot of good choices at Flying Fish. Sometimes though, the kids dessert options are more tempting than the adult ones! :rotfl:

Yes, we lucked out since we were eating during the rain and it had stopped when we were done. :thumbsup2 So very low crowds.

I figured you had gotten rid of your FB. Do you think you'll go back on it or something? I know it's a ways away, but I'm gong to want to see wedding pics!

Do you think you will do a PTR for your honeymoon? I have always wanted to stay at the Poly, especially because we always seem to end up eating there a ton. Are you going to do any character meals? Or do you think you are going to go all "grown-up" and with more adult meals? There are so many options in Orlando!

Your dinner at Flying Fish sounds wonderful! It was so nice of them to add the little extras for your "anniversary"! (belated congrats by the way!) I want that kiddie dessert too :)

I love the picture of the 3 of you! What a beautiful family!

Don't you worry, I'll make sure you see pics! I can always e-mail them/PM them.

Yep, I am planning on doing a PTR when it gets closer; unless things get too crazy so close to the wedding! But I will for sure be doing a TR!

I'm not sure if we're going to do any character meals. Now that we've done them with Little Guy, it just might be weird to do those without him! I think we might stick to more of the "adult" meals. Like I said, Fiance wants Le Cellier..I want to try the Cali Grill! It's always been my dream to eat there.

It was really good, sorry we didn't get any pics of the actual meal. We musthave been way too hungry! Doesn't that kiddie dessert just look delicious?

Thanks! I always like your pics too, Dawn!

yay! I love seeing wedding pics and whatnot, even if it's still a ways away, I am already excited to see them. Definitely email/PM some or a link. ;)

Even if it gets too busy for a PTR, you know you'll have a ton of readers for the TR! :goodvibes

We have also always wanted to try Cali Grill. I'm sure you'll love it since you enjoy your sushi, too. So many choices!

Looks and sounds like a great meal at the Flying Fish! I am glad something good came out of having to double book rooms! This meal seems great. I LOVE the mickey puzzle and paints. So cool!

That was a really good meal. I had heard about the mickey puzzle and paints before and was so excited to see it on this menu. I didn't even give ym daughter any choices with her dessert - I just picked that one! :rotfl: We BOTH enjoyed it. ;)

We woke up Tuesday morning bright and early once again – not via an electronic alarm, but via our other alarm – a little wiggly 3 year old girl. No matter what time she goes to bed, early or late, she always wakes up relatively around the same time, but always no later than 8am. Occasionally we get an 8:30am, but that’s rare. Good thing she was up bright and early this day since we were off to the Animal Kingdom for breakfast.

I had been looking forward to the Tusker House breakfast for so long, especially after reading reviews on the DIS. We got all bundled up in layers, key for this February trip since the temperatures seemed to vary so much from hour to hour. Our plan was to eat breakfast with Donald, walk around AK for a bit, then head back to the hotel in the early afternoon. We had some friends coming into Orlando to join us for a couple of days, my BFF and her fiancé, Auntie Nini and Uncle G (that is what our little girl calls them ever since she was little and the names have just stuck as she has gotten older). We were all excited for 2 days at Disney together.

I do remember that is was pretty cold this morning. We had a 9:20am ADR I think, just after the opening of the park, but we still had to wait a bit for our name to get called. Or it may have just felt like a long time because we were so cold. While we had on layers/sweatshirts, we weren’t in coats because it was supposed to warm up and we didn’t want to have to carry them around all day. Once our name was called, we headed up and got in line for a picture with Donald. I was a bit bummed that we couldn’t add the Donald PP pic onto our card, especially because we had already prepaid for a cd, but I figure that’s how they try to get a bit more money out of you. The Donald pics were pretty cute too. We got a couple with our camera, but at the time, we thought the pics would be included in the package so we didn’t take more.

She loved Safari Donald!

ry%3D400

See how happy she is?

ry%3D400

We took a family pic too, but like I said, that was not purchased……

We got a quick tour of the inside and were shown to our table. I really liked the inside of the restaurant and the way the breakfast buffet was laid out. I will admit that I was most excited to try out the famous jungle juice! It did not disappoint – I loved it and definitely had refills of the juice. Once again, no food pics, we were too busy eating and keeping an eye out for characters.

First up was Mickey Mouse. I love their safari gear!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Then a super tall friend stopped by. Goofy.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Our little girl was so excited to see characters at our meals, but she did a good job at waiting patiently for her turn.

ry%3D400

Then we saw the other main reason I had booked Tusker House – Daisy Duck.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I was trying to cover a lot of the characters with our character meals, just in case we had a hard time finding them in the parks. Of course, you can see that we already saw a fair amount by this point, and our daughter was not one to pass a character by without saying hi.

Before Daisy had gotten too far away, it was time for a conga line!

ry%3D400

Our little girl manages to squish herself to the front every time.

ry%3D400

I sincerely apologize to anyone who she may have cut off. We are still working on that concept of not cutting in front of other people. She understands waiting in line when there is one established, but when it comes to the parades, dance parties, etc., she has a tendency to squeeze her way to the front. Obviously we need to work on that a bit. I think she just gets so excited.

Once we finished greeting all of our friends, we were able to focus on finishing up our meal. I also ended up getting a hot chocolate to go. Perfect on a crisp cool day. Our waitress had offered up the juice to go, but since it was so cold out, I opted for a hot chocolate instead, otherwise I would have taken her up on that offer!

After we were done with our meal and our tummies were full, we headed over to Camp Minnie-Mickey. Since we didn’t buy the Donald pic from the breakfast, we decided to see if we could find him at the camp to try for the pic again. We were just hoping that we wouldn’t end up at the characters the exact same time that the Festival of the Lion King show let out. That happened earlier in the week and the lines get long so fast then!

cont.

When we got to Camp Minnie-Mickey, we saw that we were in luck! There was barely a line for Donald Duck so we made a beeline for that hut.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And we were able to get a few PP pics here to make up for the breakfast ones.

ry%3D400

Including the bonus PP pic.

ry%3D400

We had just seen Mickey, and Goofy at the breakfast, and Minnie Mouse had a long line, so we jumped in to see some chipmunks instead. Every time we came across Chip & Dale in MK, there was a super long line, so I was not passing this short line up.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I really like this pic.

ry%3D400

I love how snuggly they were with her.

ry%3D400

Chip seemed attracted to the sparkly Minnie Mouse on her sweatshirt.

ry%3D400

And that earned him a nice hug.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I have a soft spot for Chip and Dale myself. I always find them a lot of fun to visit. When I was in college, my good friend and I were actually waiting in a nearby line at MK for another character when I felt someone tugging me out of the line. It was Dale and he proceeded to pull me all the way out of line and dragged me over to their line instead. He then got “yelled” at by Chip for dragging me over there and the two of them played tug of war with me. I, of course, was loving every minute of it. It made for a fun memory that my friend and I laughed at over the course of the trip.

Before we left Camp Minnie-Mickey, we stopped off to give a quick cuddly hug to a pair of bunnies.

ry%3D400

They are just so cute and snuggly looking. Who could be afraid of those two?

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

But you know who can be a bit intimidating?

ry%3D400

We ran into that big fella when we were coming out of the restrooms and he had no line. Unfortunately, our little girl was a little scared of him, I think due to his height. But as long as I held her, she was fine with waving to him and touching his paw.

ry%3D400

Up next: do you think we were done with AK yet? Or characters?

Aww great update!

Your Tusker House pics have me so excited to be having breakfast there later THIS MONTH :cool1:

As for the little one making her way to the front...well that's not all bad. Being assertive will be an asset as she gets older :thumbsup2

As always, the pictures of her are adorable. Definitely among the cutest kiddos on the Dis :cutie:

You are lucky..my DD5 still wakes at 6 no later than 6:30 a.m. even on the weekends...she starts kindergarten in September, watch then she will try to sleep late:laughing:

Love the pics of her with all the characters but especially Chip & Dale. They are so much fun. I am glad you mentioned that the pics with Donald at Tusker House are not included with the prepaid CD.. We will be doing Tusker House this visit and are excited.. never been there before either.

Oh, the juice alone is worth going to Tusker House for, so yummy!! Glad you guys enjoyed it. I love the pictures of your DD stading with her autograph book and waiting for the next character to come :goodvibes I think it's so great that she enjoys them so much.

The Chip and Dale pictures are beyond adorable, we've always had good interaction with them too.

Great character pics! I also have a special fondness for Chip and Dale. When DBF was pushing me around the parks when I had to use the wheelchair, C&D came randomly up to give me high-fives (not once, but twice during our trip!). It was very sweet and is one of those nice Disney memories :goodvibes.

Haha, I used to sleep like your munchkin too and end up in the weirdest positions. In the middle of one night, I woke up with one of the threads from my comforter wrapped around my toe. It was wrapped in such a way that I couldn't undo it, and my mom had to get up to do it for me. She was like, "How in the WORLD did this happen?!?" It was really tight! I used to always wake up on the floor too because I fell off my bed often. Haha, eventually I'd wake up as I was almost about to fall. Other times, I'd be like, "Just embrace it ..." and I'd grab a blanket on my way down.

I've never eaten at a Minado ... not yet! A lot of my friends have, but I'm nervous about that because I don't like the pressure! I recently went to Sushi Village for a friend's birthday party. This buffet required checking things off on a list, and the stuff was brought to the table. There was sashimi on it, so what we should have done was go all out on that! But my side of the table really likes rolls too, so we got full on rice (but we did order a plate of sashimi afterwards though!).

YES, Maleficent is so scary now because of KK. I didn't like her beforehand either, but now it's terrifying! Part of me wants to go up to her in the parks though and take a picture with her with a scared look (that won't be too difficult to do!). I wonder if the CM would know what's going on if people asked her things regarding KK.

How cute that your DD wanted a picture with the Ariel and Eric!!!

I must still be a little kid because I like bubbles too! When I do the dishes, I try to squeeze the dish soap bottle to get a bubble to come out and float in the air. If I'm with someone, we watch it until it pops and then we go, "Aww ..."

I could totally get a haircut at WDW next year! I know it's not healthy, but I only cut my hair every 2 years to donate (I know it's supposed to be trimmed constantly, but I don't really get split ends like I used to when I was in HS). The following year is a cut year for me, but I need my hair long for the wedding. My mom was like, "Cut it the day after on Sunday and then leave for your honeymoon on Monday." Haha, I could totally have them cut it there although what I'd do with the hair all day long is beyond me ... that'd be weird! Do they only cut dry hair there?

I love how the characters don't seem to think twice about inappropriate hand positions. They're probably so used to it especially with the size of most of the people they take pictures with! Plus, since the kids don't even realize it, I like that the CMs don't point it out or move the hands because then it would draw attention to it.

LOVE the picture of your DD waving as the parades goes by not just because of her expression but because of your husband's expression too!

I'm so glad you liked Flying Fish! It's one of the possible places we might want to eat for our Disneymoon. We know we won't really get a chance to eat at all these places later on, so we want to enjoy it now.

How nice to have a hot chocolate to go! Makes sense! I don't remember it being that cold when we were there, and that was only a week later, right? Never mind, I lied. Haha, I had my heavy hoodie on at MK!

Haha, your "They are just so cute and snuggly looking. Who could be afraid of those two?" comment about Thumper and his girlfriend made me laugh because I was thinking, "ME!" And that means I, of course, would be intimidated by Brer Bear! Howard and I have an inside joke about him now though. It literally started on Saturday when we heard a song at church (some of our dancers in our coffeehouse were taking a break) rapper sounded like Brer Bear! It'd be hilarious if we could find him for a picture, but I totally might chicken out. He is rather cute though!
