We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

That's so cute with your daughter on IASW, trying to sing in other languages. Awwww... just adorable. Poor you having to listen to that song over and over again in the car hahaha (: I love all the little things you noticed on the ride, I don't think I even remember them being there. :thumbsup2

I'm surprised they let your daughter drive on the Tomorrowland Speedway, I haven't been on it, but I thought there was a certain height limit, so that you could see over the steering wheel. She did still seem to enjoy it despite banging from side to side :teeth:

Love her little haircut motto with the Harmony Barber Shop. I wonder how long her hair would be if you ended up going with it.... I'm guessing that whole thing would've been thrown out of the door then Hahaha But she still got her haircut either way :)

Sorry you weren't on the side of the street Aaron Rodgers came by on, but you still got to see him nonetheless (:

Can't wait to read about your signature dining experience! :mickeyjum

What an awesome day at the MK:goodvibes

I was also totally obessed with the Royal Wedding, it was all so exciting.

I love the pic of your daughter playing with the bubbles, you can see how much fun she is truly having.

Love the story about her haircut...too funny.

Can't wait for more

What a great day you had and how fun that you saw the Super Bowl parade! The pics with the fairies are adorable but the one on her daddy's shoulders is the best :cutie:

I always like the pics of her with daddy, whether it's them walking hand in hand or her on his shoulders. Always so cute. The parade was pretty fun to see - quick, but fun.

Another great update! :)

I loved watching the Royal Wedding as well!

I am SO excited for the new Little Mermaid ride. Have you watched the video of the ride over in Disneyland? It opened in June! It looks so neat! The clam-mobiles look similiar to what we ride in for Nemo at Epcot.

Wow, such a big girl getting her hair cut! I always get nervous taking Little Guy because he sometimes does not like to sit still that long. But, I really want to take him to get his hair cut at Main St. because it would be such a fun memory. How does getting in there work? Do you just walk up and ask? Do you call ahead to make the appointment?

Even though I don't like the Packers..it was neat that you got to see Aaron!

I bet it was fun to watch the royal wedding knowing that you will be getting married yourself soon. It was the same weekend as my BFF's wedding, so we kept joking that they were trying to steal her thunder. :rotfl: Have you seen the pictures comparing Will and Kate with Cinderella and Prince Charming? So funny. That's why my little girl loved watching it with me and she said her favorite was Prince William. It looked like the Cinderella wedding to her.

Oh, I have't seen the video for the new Little Mermaid ride. I will have to check it out soon.

You should totally take the little guy there for a haircut! Everytime we go, it's all boys/men getting their haircuts. I think they have started taking appointments, but I found it easier to wing it. Typically early morning or during a parade are good times. You can usually if there is a wait just by walking past. And all of the barbers are great at keeping the kids entertained. You can also get some pixie dust sprinkled on your hair at the end. I loved seeing a grown man have that done.

Lucky for us, the theme song does not drive us crazy. We happen to like it and it's so cute to hear her sing it. Also, that particular Disney cd is in my husband's car and I have more of the princess songs. ;) So I hear Mulan's Reflections a lot. As for noticing all the stuff, for some reason, I always feel the need to take pictures on the ride, even when I've been on it a ton.

I don't remember if there was a height requirement. I know there was one for riding alone, but we all rode together in one car. My husband had his arm around the back of her and wrapped around her so that he could help shield her and lesson the impacts. If there is a height limit, then I think she must have just made it.

Yes, the haircuts would be quite pricey if we had to fly to Florida each time! Luckily she enjoyed the Snip-its here as well. If she wants to continue getting haircuts at Disney in addition to other ones, that's fine with me.

Let's just say our dinner was yummy!

Thanks, it was a great day at MK! And the weather was pretty nice too, right up until the end of the parade.

I was so obsessed with the Royal Wedding and am still obsessed with them. i have a problem.

you put bubbles near her and she is happy as a clam. She absolutely loves chasing after them.

Thanks for reading!

Love it!

Hi! Sorry about surprising you in the outlets, I hope you don't mind. It must have been really neat to time your trip with the Super Bowl. Now if Tom Brady was there I would have made sure to be on the right side of the street!

What a great update! Your daughter continue to be the best character magnet. She even likes posing with pictures instead of the real thing. That was too cute. How nice that she enjoyed her haircut! You've started a tradition.

Oh my gosh, I totally didn't mind, just surprised. Plus, could you tell I was a bit flustered? We don't live super close to the outlets so we were trying to get some shopping errands in before I had to work tonight. I realized that I never actually introduced myself of anyone - sorry!

We were really excited about the timing of the trip because at the time, the Pats were on a roll. So we were hoping for a Brady appearance (although I really wish he would cut off that hair and go back to the pre-Giselle days).

Nice bumping into you! It was my first encounter ever!:goodvibes

Thanks, glad you are enjoying it. I don't know if she was a character magnet, or we were just extra aware of them this trip. I do feel like there were a lot more out and about.

She loves to pose. She's a total character. And she loves getting her haircut at Disney - even her friends at daycare know that she gets her hair cut there. :rotfl:

hi just read the trip report your daughter is sooo adorable!!!! thats cool you got to see the super bowl parade i mean aaron rodgers is no tom brady but hey who is (die hard pats fan here lol) still a cool thing to see cant wait to read the rest!

I Love reading your trip reports, you all seem to have so much fun! Your daughter is too cute!! :cutie:

Aw thanks! We usually have a good time, because really, you are on vacation and at Disney! My daughter is definitely happy as a clam there and is forever asking to go back.

Thanks and I'm happy you are enjoying it so far! We did have a little debate in our heads about whether we would watch the superbowl parade if the Steelers won and Big Ben was there (neither of us are fans), but since it was Aaron Rodgers, we were happy to see it. And seriously, can Tom just cut his hair already? I am pretty sure Giselle is sucking all the manliness out of him.

It was a cute shower. I just felt bad for my BFF because there was so much drama and stress around it. It was supposed to be a special day for her and I don't know if it ended up being that way. But we made up for it later on in the week.

Yeah, it is too bad that these type of things have a lot of drama sometimes. But it is good that you got to make up for it later in the week!

I am glad that the construction walls are amusing/attractive. At least there are some photo opportunities!

And it is so cute that your DD got her haircut at the Barber Shop. Cute meet and greet with the fairies. Even if they were less engaging, you still got some great pictures!

Hopefully her driving will get better.
However, the last time were were there, my DD was 10 1/2 and her driving was like your DD's. Bam, then jerk to the right, Bam, then jerk to the left. We still laugh about it.
Whenever we split up and my DS rides with my DH and she rides with me - we start laughing right off because we know what it is going to be like.

I just got caught up with your TR..:cool1: I have to say I am kind of jealous that the weather was cool for you..must be nice not feeling refreshed and not like a vat of sweat..LOL..We are going August 26 and the heat & humidity is going to be horrific..:scared1: but we usually go first or second week of September :rolleyes1 Your DD is getting so big..what a cutie..and how she loves the characters. MY DD is now 5 and still a little shy with some of them:confused3 Oh and Tom Brady needs to be "DEGISELLIZED" he was so much better looking and manlier before her..what is she doing to him :confused3:confused:

We met up with my BFF and her fiance later in the week (coming up soon!) so we helped make the trip more worthwhile for them. They loved touring the World with DD.

I typically find that Disney does their best to keep the contruction walls somewhat nice to look at. I love the Walt Disney quotes on the walls, too.

DD LOVES getting her haircut at Disney World. :cloud9: She will actually wait for a while to get her hair cut if there is a line.

10 1/2? Better et practicing before she gets behind the wheel in a real car! But your description is exactly what our rides our like with DD driving. And she is laughing hysterically the whole time. She loves it. Good thing there is enough room between the lanes so that if both cars are next to each other and swerving, there is no collision!

It was really odd for us to be touring the World in cooler temps. I have to say that we were hoping for slightly warmer temps (70s at least) since we were escaping the winter storms. My husband really wanted some pool time. Our last trips have always involved profuse sweating. And I'm sure our next jaunt in August will be just as bad - I think we may be in Orlando at the same time. However, this is not supposed to be a "Disney" trip but an "Orlando" trip as we are hitting up WWoHP first. I did convince my husband into at least one day at Disney, for my daughter, of course. ;) So I totally know what you mean with the warm temps. Last May I think was freakishly hot the week we were there.

I am so glad you know what I mean about Tom Brady! He looked so much better when he was with Bridget Moynahan - so much more manly and I think he played better back in the day, too.

I am in love with the parade picture on the shoulders! What pure joy!
Great haircut. I'm glad she's agreeed to get her hair cut at home too!
What a score with Vidia and Fawn! It seems like it's always Terrance, maybe Rosetta.
Glad the rides are getting more love:)

Yes that one! I love it too!

I forgot to mention, I love that pic of your little one on her Daddy's shoulders. I really wish our little ones could have a play date. And I'd love to meet and chat with you! Maybe someday. :)

I love watching her face and reactions when we are at Disney and during parades. she is just so happy and excited. She waves at everyone.

We did see Terrance before in May, but we never met Vidia or fawn. Silvermist continues to elude us.

Aw thanks! Well, you know how much I loved all the pics of your little guy on your FI's shoulders. :goodvibes I know, it would be fun to get all the little ones together for a mini-Dis meet! Can you imagine the fun it would be, especially if it were at Disney?

After we had gotten our glimpse of the Superbowl MVP, we booked it out of the park. We weren’t the only ones, either. There was a mass exodus out of Main Street, not as bad as park closing, but still pretty crowded. We saw cheeseheads and Packers jerseys everywhere. It was pretty fun I have to say, a fun atmosphere. There was even one cheesehead (literally, he was wearing the big “hat”) that had just flown in from the game just to see him in the parade?!

The clouds were rolling in and soon enough, the sky opened up and fat drops fell from the sky. We scurried back to our room to regroup, and this is what we found.

An elephant.

and…..?

ry%3D400

We just relaxed for a little bit in the room before heading back out in the rain. My husband and I changed into slightly warmer clothing since the rain had brought about a drop in temperatures. We then went for a little car ride, allowing some time for our munchkin to take a little nap. Yup, for all of those who read our previous TR, you know that this little naptime routine continued this trip. We ended up driving around Celebration, Florida most days, just checking out the houses and dreaming of what it would be like to live there.

We soon headed back towards the Epcot resort area for our dinner ADR. My husband and I were pretty excited about this dinner. One good perk of having to “double book” hotel rooms when we made that side trip to Miami was that we ended up having extra dining credits to use up. We decided to put those extra TS credits to good use with a signature meal and a dinner show later on in the trip. Our choice for dinner tonight…..Flying Fish.

We parked at the Boardwalk hotel and ran into the lobby since it was still raining out. While we have stayed at the Beach Club once before, we never really explored the Boardwalk hotel. We got to the lobby just in time to see the magician perform. Acutally, I don’t know if he was a magician, maybe he was a juggler? Either way, he was a very entertaining performer. I love that Disney adds these little touches to their resorts.

We wandered our way through the resort and headed out the back to the boardwalk to get to the restaurant. Even with her hoodie jacket, our little girl was still a bit chilly. She ended up borrowing my scarf to keep warm and dry. I think she rocked it pretty well, don’t you think?

ry%3D400

When I made the reservation for Flying Fish, I added in that we were celebrating our anniversary. Not our wedding anniversary, but our “dating” one. It was 13 years in February that we have been together and I thought that was a good enough reason to celebrate. We decided on Flying Fish because the menu appealed to both of us and we were hoping that our little girl wouldn’t be too out of place here. I was worried that she might be too young or too loud for California Grill or Narcoossee’s. We also booked a relatively early dinner to not disturb other diners.

We were seated right away and given some nice souvenir menus. How cute!

ry%3D400

I apologize that I didn’t get any pictures of the entrees and appetizers, but they were delish! We actually are debating going back next month and eating there again. We had a wonderful server and in addition to the customized menus, we also got complimentary glasses of champagne. Nice! If my memory is correct, this is what we ordered:

For an appetizer:
Signature Flying Fish Cafe "Crispy Maine Coast Jonah Crab Cake" - Savory Vegetable Slaw, Roasted Red Pepper Coulis, and Ancho Chile Rémoulade

My husband’s entrée:
Signature Flying Fish Café "Potato-wrapped Red Snapper" - Leek Fondue with a Veal Glace, Red Wine, and Cassis Butter

My entrée:
Oak-grilled Maine Diver Scallops - Artichoke, Fresh and Sun-dried Tomato, Basil, Pecorino Romano and Mascarpone-laced Risotto di Carnarolli, with Proscuitto di Parma Cracklins

Our little one had:
Bowl of Mickey Pasta - with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese
She could have had a fruit skewer as her appetizer but I asked if she could get a bowl of just cantaloupe instead and they were happy to oblige. Yay! Made for a happy little girl.

The food was all so good. As our first signature meal, we were not disappointed. I did get some pictures of our desserts though, and they were definitely delish! I am not that great at food pics so we’ll just have to make the best of it.

My husband’s dessert:
A Trio Sinful Chocolate Indulgences - White Chocolate-Almond Créme Brulée, Almond Florentine and Cranberry-Orange Biscotti, Decadent Flourless Chocolate Torta, and Raspberries Chcolate Bread Pudding, Cherry, and Tahitian Vanilla Accents

ry%3D400

My dessert:
White Chocolate and Almond-scented-Créme Brulée - Almond Florentine and Cranberry-Orange Biscotti

ry%3D400

And our little girl’s dessert (which I have to say is the best kids dessert ever!):thumbsup2:
Mickey's Chocolate Puzzle - white chocolate puzzle, sugar paints, creamy-topped chocolate cupcake

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

The idea was to put the white chocolate puzzle together and then you could paint it with the edible paint. Then you can eat it!

ry%3D400

I don’t know if our girl played with the puzzle and paints more or if I did. :rotfl: And there was a yummy looking “dirt” cupcake that went with it. Seriously, can I order a dessert off the kids menu next time? We were definitely happy and full when we left the Flying Fish.

The rain had stopped by this point, but it was definitely cooler out. Luckily we had brought along our daughter’s coat so she could stay toasty warm. By this point I think it was close to 8pm so we decided to walk over to Epcot and just catch Illuminations before heading back to the hotel. Sigh, the perks of having a park hopper, right?

We loved using the “back entrance” to Epcot and it brought back memories of staying at the Beach Club. Before we knew it, we were in France.

ry%3D400

I love how different France looks in the background. We stopped by one or two countries and got a Duffy bear stamped. I miss the masks that they used to have at the kidcot station. Although it was kind of fun to color the Duffy bear. Because of all the rain, Epcot was pretty empty and we were able to get a fabulous spot for Illuminations right before the lights went out.

I always think that fireworks at Disney are the perfect way to end the night. We had a morning ADR the next day so we headed back to our room and called it a night.

Up next: Breakfast with Donald
