After we had gotten our glimpse of the Superbowl MVP, we booked it out of the park. We werent the only ones, either. There was a mass exodus out of Main Street, not as bad as park closing, but still pretty crowded. We saw cheeseheads and Packers jerseys everywhere. It was pretty fun I have to say, a fun atmosphere. There was even one cheesehead (literally, he was wearing the big hat) that had just flown in from the game just to see him in the parade?!
The clouds were rolling in and soon enough, the sky opened up and fat drops fell from the sky. We scurried back to our room to regroup, and this is what we found.
An elephant.
and
..?
We just relaxed for a little bit in the room before heading back out in the rain. My husband and I changed into slightly warmer clothing since the rain had brought about a drop in temperatures. We then went for a little car ride, allowing some time for our munchkin to take a little nap. Yup, for all of those who read our previous TR, you know that this little naptime routine continued this trip. We ended up driving around Celebration, Florida most days, just checking out the houses and dreaming of what it would be like to live there.
We soon headed back towards the Epcot resort area for our dinner ADR. My husband and I were pretty excited about this dinner. One good perk of having to double book hotel rooms when we made that side trip to Miami was that we ended up having extra dining credits to use up. We decided to put those extra TS credits to good use with a signature meal and a dinner show later on in the trip. Our choice for dinner tonight
..Flying Fish.
We parked at the Boardwalk hotel and ran into the lobby since it was still raining out. While we have stayed at the Beach Club once before, we never really explored the Boardwalk hotel. We got to the lobby just in time to see the magician perform. Acutally, I dont know if he was a magician, maybe he was a juggler? Either way, he was a very entertaining performer. I love that Disney adds these little touches to their resorts.
We wandered our way through the resort and headed out the back to the boardwalk to get to the restaurant. Even with her hoodie jacket, our little girl was still a bit chilly. She ended up borrowing my scarf to keep warm and dry. I think she rocked it pretty well, dont you think?
When I made the reservation for Flying Fish, I added in that we were celebrating our anniversary. Not our wedding anniversary, but our dating one. It was 13 years in February that we have been together and I thought that was a good enough reason to celebrate. We decided on Flying Fish because the menu appealed to both of us and we were hoping that our little girl wouldnt be too out of place here. I was worried that she might be too young or too loud for California Grill or Narcoossees. We also booked a relatively early dinner to not disturb other diners.
We were seated right away and given some nice souvenir menus. How cute!
I apologize that I didnt get any pictures of the entrees and appetizers, but they were delish! We actually are debating going back next month and eating there again. We had a wonderful server and in addition to the customized menus, we also got complimentary glasses of champagne. Nice! If my memory is correct, this is what we ordered:
For an appetizer:
Signature Flying Fish Cafe "Crispy Maine Coast Jonah Crab Cake" - Savory Vegetable Slaw, Roasted Red Pepper Coulis, and Ancho Chile Rémoulade
My husbands entrée:
Signature Flying Fish Café "Potato-wrapped Red Snapper" - Leek Fondue with a Veal Glace, Red Wine, and Cassis Butter
My entrée:
Oak-grilled Maine Diver Scallops - Artichoke, Fresh and Sun-dried Tomato, Basil, Pecorino Romano and Mascarpone-laced Risotto di Carnarolli, with Proscuitto di Parma Cracklins
Our little one had:
Bowl of Mickey Pasta - with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese
She could have had a fruit skewer as her appetizer but I asked if she could get a bowl of just cantaloupe instead and they were happy to oblige. Yay! Made for a happy little girl.
The food was all so good. As our first signature meal, we were not disappointed. I did get some pictures of our desserts though, and they were definitely delish! I am not that great at food pics so well just have to make the best of it.
My husbands dessert:
A Trio Sinful Chocolate Indulgences - White Chocolate-Almond Créme Brulée, Almond Florentine and Cranberry-Orange Biscotti, Decadent Flourless Chocolate Torta, and Raspberries Chcolate Bread Pudding, Cherry, and Tahitian Vanilla Accents
My dessert:
White Chocolate and Almond-scented-Créme Brulée - Almond Florentine and Cranberry-Orange Biscotti
And our little girls dessert (which I have to say is the best kids dessert ever!)

:
Mickey's Chocolate Puzzle - white chocolate puzzle, sugar paints, creamy-topped chocolate cupcake
The idea was to put the white chocolate puzzle together and then you could paint it with the edible paint. Then you can eat it!
I dont know if our girl played with the puzzle and paints more or if I did.

And there was a yummy looking dirt cupcake that went with it. Seriously, can I order a dessert off the kids menu next time? We were definitely happy and full when we left the Flying Fish.
The rain had stopped by this point, but it was definitely cooler out. Luckily we had brought along our daughters coat so she could stay toasty warm. By this point I think it was close to 8pm so we decided to walk over to Epcot and just catch Illuminations before heading back to the hotel. Sigh, the perks of having a park hopper, right?
We loved using the back entrance to Epcot and it brought back memories of staying at the Beach Club. Before we knew it, we were in France.
I love how different France looks in the background. We stopped by one or two countries and got a Duffy bear stamped. I miss the masks that they used to have at the kidcot station. Although it was kind of fun to color the Duffy bear. Because of all the rain, Epcot was pretty empty and we were able to get a fabulous spot for Illuminations right before the lights went out.
I always think that fireworks at Disney are the perfect way to end the night. We had a morning ADR the next day so we headed back to our room and called it a night.
