Today we got out early to rent Pal Mickey from the store at the Beach Club. I had to put the deposit on my credit card, and was told I could bring him back by noon tomorrow. Then we headed to the Magic Kingdom. I figured that was a good park to try out Pal Mickey.
We arrived about 9:30 and the lines at the entrance were horrible. I thought missing the initial opening, we'd avoid the crowds, but no go. The lines went fast (especially since we don't bring a back pack and can breeze through security). Pal Mickey kept giggling all the way down Main Street, but I never heard what he said. Not until we reached Tomorrowland did I figure out you need to press his hand when he giggles so he can tell you something. I'm sure I missed a lot on that initial walk. We did Buzz, watched a marching band (I got pulled in to play a shaker; I was the only adult walking around, but it was fun!). Then we headed for Space. Wandered through Fantasyland and got Stephen to rides Small World (I love this ride) then off to Haunted Mansion. After that we headed to Adventureland and were surprised to see the pirate show outside Pirates of the Caribean. They were very funny, then we rode Pirates.
Lunch was at Pecos Bills; another hot dog (with fixins') and McD's fries (I think I'm in a rut). After lunch we rode Splash and then the RR all the way around. We headed out via Aloha Isle to get a Dole Whip (I love these).
From here we headed back to DTD and shopped. Then back to the room for a brief nap. Then to Epcot. Dinner was at America for Stephen and Japan for me. Then we went to FW to ride M:S and TT. Then back to WS to see Roland again, enjoy a Kaki Gori and find a good seat for Illuminations. Tomorrow night is Spectro, so this is our last chance and we want a good view. We shared a bench in Canada with a nice couple from North Carolina. They were retired teachers and we had a wonderful converstation with them.
We said our goodbyes and left WS via Mexico, walking all the way around then out the International Gateway. It was very romantic with it so empty. Got a vanilla malt for Stephen and then returned Pal Mickey. Not too impressed with Mickey. He told us stuff we already knew or stuff about characters that we didn't care about. If you have kids or aren't very familiar with WDW, it's a good idea. Or, if you like lame jokes
. Not worth it for me.
We were in bed by 10:00 tonight. Tomorrow is our last full day, so we plan on starting early.
