Use Year

I would buy in August so I could walk, everyone who has a December uy complains they cant walk, especially for bwv

I know this response is from august but this explains a lot. I have been thinking of purchasing and I cannot get around what use year to get or look for. I have watched multiple videos. If I travel in March, April, and June I should aim for September use year?
Based on this information alone, I'd avoid April/June/Aug/Sept UY because you would have travel that fell in the last 3 months of your UY. Any other UY would be fine - again, based only on this information.

But, the bigger question that will help you find the ideal UY - which months are you LEAST likely to use your points. If you think you might want to go in November or December sometime, you don't want February or March. OTOH, if you think you might like to go in the low point month of September but would be very unlikely to travel in December, then I wouldn't go with October or December, and February or March would be fine.

For December travel in particular, some will advise against a December UY because it makes "walking" reservations very difficult, and that is sometimes needed to secure certain rooms at certain resorts. But, how difficult depends on what resort and room type. Generally, resort view studios will be very difficult. A 1 BR preferred view will likely not be so difficult. But, there can be some variance by resort on how difficult and which rooms.

February UY
February sounds great for the March, April, June travel. And if you are buying a direct contract soon, like in the next couple weeks before February, you would get 2025 points for basically free. And then on February 1st, get your 2026 points. This is the time to move if you are wanting February and going direct.
