Went to MK yesterday...where is everyone?

Wow, we took MIL to MK for her first time yesterday and there was no crowds! I mean you could walk anywhere without bumping into a single person. The wait times were great to. Most rides were 10 minutes. Fastpass was broken for Splash Mountaind so that was 30 minutes but that still wasn't bad. Have fun for everyone heading out in the next week or so.

Off to AK!!!!!!!

Glad you are having fun! I know for us we don't like to take the kids out of school anymore now that they are older so we never go during school time. Keep having a magical time!!!

Tuesday May 6th at MK was a nightmare-probably because of Spectro and FW. were there for rope drop and the crowds just kept coming. Then we hopped over to MGM and walked on TOT in the middle of the day??? Why was everyone at MK?? We then went back to MK for spectro and FW and even the least crowded areas for viewing were a mob scene-yikes I'll never do that again especially in that heat.

We were ther on May 6th too and it was AWFUL! We got there early, left for 3 hours and then went back for dinner and the parade/fireworks. It took so long to get out of there that night. Thankfully that was the last day of our trip and the entire week before the crowds were almost non-existent. We had been at MGM on Monday and were able to ride Rock & Roller Coaster 3 times with no wait and walked right on ToT too.

Sooooo, from what I'm reading, I should be HAPPY that there is no FITS or spectro scheduled for my MK day.

You've just helped me to see the brighter side of never having seen spectro and being bummed it wasn't going on that day!

Thursday May 1 was the only spectro on my trip and it was packed I think that really draws the crowds. It was so packed in fact we decided to skip trying to see it- they were 6 deep by 7:30 and go to fantasyland and toontown guess what?? No one was there we rode every ride walk on even dumbo and in toontown we had 8 characters to ourselves for ten minutes- they opened the doors at the judges tent and all 8 interacted with my 3 year old at the same time - magical!! So even in a crowd you can find the Magic!!

WE are leaving Tuesday for WDW....I planned to visit MK that evening for the parade and fireworks.(the only times during visit.)

But u guys have almost scared me off...maybe we should just go to Fantasmic instead??? Hmmmmmmmmmm???

My DS is at WDW this week with his GF. I am happy to hear it is not crowded!

We were at MK on May 1st. Got there at 7pm and were able to score curb seats across from the train station. We debilerately stayed away during the day because we thought it would be crowded. Went on Wednesday, the day before and the lines were fairly small. Actually had the first ride of the day on Dumbo with my niece. Pretty good for a 40 yo who had never been on Dumbo until 2 years ago and I have been going to MK since 1972. We were down the same time last year end April/beginning May and actually found it a little more crowded than last year.
I would save Fantasmic for another day. We walked in about 10-15 min before it was supposed to start on Wed 4/30 and there was still one section with no one seated yet. It had rained hard from about 4:30pm until 6:30pm then cleared up.

If you don't mind sitting for 1.5 hours to score a curb seat I can't handle that wait and after 7:00 it packs up quick for the 8:45 parade.

We were on one of the benches across from the Train Station on May 1st. They were great seats. Got there around 6pm. Actually it was not a bad wait. Many interesting people to see going by. We did not go to this park during the day because I knew it would be crowded. I was surprised that these benches were empty at that time, but the seats up at the train station were all taken by then.

We were on one of the benches across from the Train Station on May 1st. They were great seats. Got there around 6pm. Actually it was not a bad wait. Many interesting people to see going by. We did not go to this park during the day because I knew it would be crowded. I was surprised that these benches were empty at that time, but the seats up at the train station were all taken by then. We left when the announcement came on during the fireworks that it was the grand finalle. We were able to get on the first bus back to the Boardwalk. We did not wait at all.

I hate to disagree with anyone but I have to - DH and I just got back tonight after 8 nights/9 days at CBR and the crowds were absolutely horrible - there were lines for every ride and fast passes were used up and unavailable early on in the day, about 5:00 pm or so. The bus transportation was so awful the first few days that I actually called to complain as did others - wait for a bus from and to parks reached 50 minutes. I have to admit after one individual complained to the Disney Transportartion Director in front on the other patrons, the transportation got much better. Just beware - the crowds and the heat are awful!!! At least the hours are better here on in but we were not too happy with them when we were there.

DNBoise what hotel were you at- where were busses bad- it is amazing how crowds change in a week also if you go to EE park later in day that one is always busiest. Hope you found magic anyway. I have had bad buses before no fun! Our trip busses ran well 4-26-5-2

This was our third trip for the first week of May. We found the crowds to be significantly larger than we saw on past trips. MK was very crowded the days we went. We left by 11:00 because the lines were so long. We did take advantage of EMH and were able to see alot. Tues night was a nightmare getting in and out of MK! MGM long lines for Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney, but no lines for anything else. Epcto and AK had very manageable lines. Overall we were very suprised at how crowded the parks were for this time of year.

Yesterday everyone was at EPCOT .... we waited 20 minutes just to get thru the bag check and ticket line!
