Wendy's Salads

I am just curious if anyone else out there is disappointed that Wendy's changed their salads? Or maybe you like the new ones?

I was disappointed because I really liked the old Taco Salad and don't really like the new one (Baja Salad). Nevermind that they are now over $6.00 - not including a drink.

Anyway...I was just wondering if I am the only one.

They changed their salads?

I liked the Taco salad. Did they change the Mandarin Chicken salad, too? That was my favorite.

I liked the taco salads too -- they are far too pricey though!

They changed them all....

They still have some of the same things in them - but they are now "premium" and have different dressings and sauces and some strange things in them.

For example - no more Taco Salad - but the Baja Salad has additional things. Here is the description of it.

A hearty salad with a Southwest flair, featuring fresh pico de gallo, guacamole and slow simmered chili, all topped with a red jalapeno dressing.

I just don't like that stuff on there - I want my OLD salad back. And I ate them a LOT.

Nooo! It looks like they discontinued my favorite Oriental Sesame dressing.

Not happy at all. 2 of them have bleu cheese in them. Yuck. Are there really that many people out there that like bleu cheese? So that leaves a spicy salad, which gets mushy quick because of the hot chili and a boring ceaser salad.
I loved their chicken BLT salads.

Now I have no good fast food salad place to go too.

When she asked about the chili, the women said it was on it.. my sister was like" show me?!" Thankfully the manager came over and told them they have to GIVE the chili as a side.. its not already on the salad... I wonder how many salads she gave out before they realized that!

I loved Wendy's, but I never did like their salads. I love salads and eat them almost everywhere I go, but to me, theirs had no taste at all. My biggest pet peeve was the taco salad, I can't stand the idea of hot chili on a cold salad, YUCK.

That reminds me of a time I went to McDonalds. I wasn't reading off the menu as I knew what I wanted. I asked for a "Chicken Caesar Salad."

The girl said, "We don't have that."

I looked over at their refrigerated cases which had a glass front. I said, "Yes, you do. That's one right there."

The girl looked over and said, "No, we don't sell Chicken Caesar Salads."

I looked around for the hidden Candid Cameras. Then I stared at the menu. "There it is, right there on the menu," pointing to it.

The girl looked up and said, "That's a Caesar Salad with Chicken. You said you wanted a Chicken Caesar Salad."

"You're telling me you couldn't figure out that's the same thing?!?"

She had the modicum of intelligence to look somewhat embarrassed then.

ICK! I loved their Chicken BLT Salad. I do NOT like blue cheese in any form! That sucks pond scum!

I actually like the Baha Salad...
Way more flavor and texture than the old 'chili on lettuce' salad.

Maybe I was lucky, but the guacamole on mine when I tried one the other day was so good, with bite sized chunks of fresh avacado.

I hate that they are now around $6.00, but extra ingredients like that fresh guacamole are going to raise the price.

I have tried two of them. LOVE one but not too wild about the other. The Apple Pecan Chicken with Pomegrante Vinegrette is REALLY good, imho. Tonight I tried the Cobb--not as good. The Avocado Ranch dressing doesn't have much taste to it. Both of them have blue cheese though.

I had the chicken apple pecan one today. It had blue cheese and cranberries on it too. It was actually really good. But it was $5.99 plus tax.

I don't like that they changed the dressings, apparently now I can't get honey mustard dressing with my side salad any more.

I wish Wendy's would bring back the salad bar they had in the 80's. It was so good.

I am SOOO disappointed that they changed their salads. I found out last weekend when I was craving a Mandarin Chicken salad. I loved that salad. I never used the sauce or the noodles, i used my fat free ranch, but i loved it! It was easy to pick up on the go. It was low in points for me ( I am on weight watchers).
I don't understand why they do this. It is something healthy and hlalth conscious people can still go and eat there.
I didn't like any of the new choices.
Oh well, maybe if people stop eating there they will realize they the shouldn't change a good thing. I think we all need to write and complain.

Aren't those cranberries so good with the apples? and I love that Pomegrante dressing.

I actually did not realize that they had replaced the old salads with these new ones, I just thought they were an addition. I always like new things on a menu but don't understand taking away something that was working. I also find it odd that they would choose to have at least two salads with blue cheese and it not be something you can choose to leave off. I like it on the Apple Pecan salad but not on the Cobb--its the dressings that make the difference in the taste, I guess.



Someone mentioned weight watchers. I didn't figure the Cobb, but the Apple Pecan is 10 pts. Which is more than I ususally use in one meal, but it actually kept me full and I didn't get hungry all afternoon, so didn't use any snack points.

Wendy's changed their taco salad? Yeah they did, about 20 years ago. Use to be a good meal, then they changed it to just being a small salad. Can't be bothered by them changing again because I haven't had a good Wendy's taco salad for about 20 years now.

Oh darn, I LOVED their BLT salad and Mandarin Chicken salad. I don't like blue cheese so that cancels out two of the salads, I don't really care for chicken caesar salad and I don't like eggs.
