Wendy's Salads

The salad changes don't bother me.. BUT the day they change the chili is the day I revolt!

It looks like "certain markets" may still have the old salads. The Chicken BLT salad was my favorite. The "new" BLT salad has bleu cheese (eww!) and an avocado dressing (which I'm sure I could substitute). The only thing that looks enticing now is the Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad, but that is a day-killer when it comes to calories and fat!

I just went to Wendys and I HAVE TO complain.
I dislike pretty much everything on a burger [except lettuce, bun, burger, cheese, and ketchup].
I always ask at places for a PLAIN burger with only cheese on it, please. I will add ketchup myself.

At wendys it appeared plain, so I took a bite. I could taste it immediatly: mustard. It had mustard ALL OVER the top portion. It appears that they covered it in cheese to hide it. I can't stand the taste of mustard so I wiped it off and put a lot of ketchup on it. I still taste it

Looking at the calorie counts for every single one of those salads will keep me away from them easily. 660 calories before croutons? No thank you!

I went over to Wendy's last week since I was craving the Mandarin chicken salad and was so disappointed to see it was gone. I decided to not try any of the others as I do not care for blue cheese and some of the other ingredients. I instead hit up the grocery store and made my own version which was yummy.

I will miss the salad a lot as it was an easy go to meal during busy days.

I decided to not try any of the others as I do not care for blue cheese and some of the other ingredients. I instead hit up the grocery store and made my own version which was yummy.

I will miss the salad a lot as it was an easy go to meal during busy days.

I agree!!! I was so disappointed to see that they had gotten rid of the mandarin chicken salad. It was so yummy and the calorie content was not that bad. I wish they would bring that salad back!

I like the Apple Pecan Salad. I just get the mid-size with my drink, so its a little cheaper. Oh and I found out this week you can request it without blue cheese. So now I enjoy my salad without having to pick tiny pieces of molded cheese off for 10 minutes!

We went to our Wendy's a few weeks ago and saw the new salads. I can't stand the taste of their burgers but DH loves Wendy's so whenever we go I'd get the Taco or Orange salad. When I saw the new salads (our don't carry any of the old ones), I finally just got a chicken sandwich (not bad, but not great either since it was dry). Figures I finally find something I like at Wendy's and have been eating for the past few years, then they go and change it. There was too much weird stuff on the new salads for me to risk trying to $6. Thanks for posting the link to Wendy's. I'm going to write to them after I get off the DIS.

Wendy's was recently bought out by Arby's. (I live in the same town as the Wendy's headquarters.) Our town had the best Wendy's of any we've ever tried elsewhere. Since the buy out, they've changed everything, upped the prices and the quality and service has really deteriorated. It's so disappointing.

Not to mention, we have severe nut and avacado allergies in my family, so with the addition of the salads, we can't risk the cross contamination.
Not really all that heartbroken, just miss the "old" Wendy's.

I had no idea they were bought out by Arby's! It seems like that would go the other way around? Arby's is not real popular around here??

Oh well! I guess you can tell them directly what you think about the new salads, though.

I totally agree with this! I miss the taco salad because it was such an easy, relatively low point option and a quick drive through. So disappointed!


I did get an email response back from Wendy's about it saying that they were taking the complaints into consideration - so maybe if enough of us take the time out of our busy day to complain, they will hear? Who knows.

After reading this thread, I went to a Wendy's today to try one of the new salads and they still had the old salads! Nothing new - same Mandarin Chicken, Taco Salad, etc. (priced at $4.79-$4.99).

I tried the BLT Cobb yesterday, minus the blue cheese. It was really good, but not as good as the old Chicken BLT or the Mandarin Chicken.
