Well - SHE SHAVED!

This reminds me of that Family Guy episode where Peter screams our "MEG JUST GOT HER FIRST PERIOD!" :rotfl: Funny stuff.

I read your other post about this....

You still haven't told us what her father has said :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I am "dreading" the day DD5 starts asking me, but if she needs it, I will let her whether she is 9 or 15......

:goodvibes

Why do you people have to make condescending comments? Is it really your concern at what age the OP's kid starts shaving? She wasn't asking for anyone's permission; just seeking some kinship with other parents of children who are growing up. I think the way she raises her daughter is her business when it comes to something as trivial as when to allow her to shave. I could see if she was letting her go at it with a rusty Bic razor, but she's not. Good grief. :confused3

I think I was 15. Boy do I feel old. Don't have any DD's though, but I'll feel it when the DS's want to shave!

When I first read it I thought 9, Good Grief by the time my DD4 and DD1 get up there they will be moving it down to 7..... My niece is 10 and she is shaving already, one day she came out of the bathroom and her mom just looked at her and said oh my gosh you shaved your legs!!!!!!!!! She said yup I had to mom I am the hairiest girl in my class , her mom said she laughed so hard at that she couldn't be upset, then she showed her how to do it safely, with her own razor, not hers!!!LOL!

I was thinking the same thing, why do ppl need to voice their opinion about how old she is. I don't remember the OP asking if they thought DD was to young to shave? Mind your own!

To the original poster, I too started shaving at 9 (Italian with very dark hair LOL) the first few times my mom did it for me with her electric razor but then I started to get the hang of it and did it on my own with a regular old razor. DD has very hairy legs too and she is 5, however she has dirty blonde hair and favors the irish in DH more then the italian in me but I still think she will probably be shaving by 10 as well.

Glas everything went well for DD :sunny:

LOL he doesn't know yet. They go Thursday to his house for the weekend so I'm sure I'll hear something.....I'll post it when I hear it, or maybe pigs will fly and i wont hear anything...

When and if he does say anything...my reply will be "do you want me to consult you when the tampon vs. pad conversations start?"

Ha! Ha! DH has already told me that this is something he is perfectly ok with not hearing about unless absolutely necessary :rotfl:

Way to go Mom!!!
You listened to her and supported her...good for you!! It has nothing to do with age...only need!

I am sure in the winter she'll let it grow to keep her warm if nothing else! :rotfl2:

I'll voice my opinion because I can. I have that freedom! Woo Hoo!

My dd has light hair and not much of it. That's why I thought that 9 was young.

My dd's only 4 and already needs to shave. The poor thing is Italian, French and Filippina. ;)

:rotfl2: I know what you mean. DD is half Greek; if she ever gets a look at her back, i predict major laser hair removal in her future. :rotfl2:

DD12 started shaving last summer and she loves nothing better than to sit on the side of the tub, slathering various lotions & potions on her legs and scraping away with, not one but TWO razors--to get a close shave. Then she trots around wearing shorts and shows us her smooth legs. :rolleyes1 Lord, if i live through this one...

I don't think there should be a set age for when a child starts shaving. I too thought I was going to wait with my daughter, but at age 10 she had long hair on her legs and hair under her arms. She was embarrassed to take gym and to swim with her friends. I knew it was time to let her start. Age had nothing to do with it.

I let her shave once or twice to feel older, then I bought her Nair and felt better about my decision.

Trust me, that feeling "older" feeling doesn't last long!! LOL Now, at 13 she wants electrolysis done everywhere so she doesn't have to shave again. :rotfl:

I am glad your helping her with it and love the tampon and pad comment!
