Welcome Wednesday

Attended our First Welcome Wednesday during our current trip at BCV. Had a great time. Was picked as one of the game participants. Nice way for DVC to give away prices to participants. The give away is a new DVC pin that is new to this event. I will not give it away, but definitely worth attending for this. The caps are nice, nut this is cooler.

DiznyDi will be thrilled to hear that - a new pin, and one she doesn't have . . . . . so I guess I will have to do ANOTHER WHW. (It HAS been the allusive RED hats that have kept us coming back)

I collect the MNSSHP pins and this one I love since it has a special DVC person on it.

AirTran has changed my flight time, so I'm not going to be able to make the one next week. From a 9AM arrival, to a 2:30PM arrival. It was something I had planned to do.

It was fun had trivia questions- jeopardy game and give aways. Snacks included popcorn or cracker jacks. Maybe you can hit on next trip.

We attended one earlier this month and got white DVC hats, they are very nice! They gave away a lot of pins, but we didn't get one. Instead I won a Portrait Session, I was THRILLED as I had one booked for the very next day for my son's 3 year pictures. They had some really great prizes, even a Jonas Bros package they gave away to a young girl - a DS game and more.

Overall we were very impressed with the whole setup, it was fun, lots of prizes, and informative all in one.

How difficult are the trivia questions? Are they only about DVC or general Disneyana?

We've got a trip booked for January 2011. Even though it sounds like the Welcome Home Wednesday event is no big deal, I'll go to make sure I don't miss a new and unusual experience.

Same reason I went the prom 22 years ago, really.

Where are the WHW held now? We are planning on attending next month when we are down there.

We try to make it to them during our trips. When staying at the BWV or BCV it's easy. My husband was a player and won the huge double DVC beach towel, my daughter was a player and won a golf size DVC umbrella and the last time we went my husband was picked from the box and won a DVC cooler folding camping seat. It was pretty neat, and did fit in our suitcase for the trip home. We have many hats, and a few beach bags that were give aways. We won't make it next week. Even though we arrive on Wednesday, we have an ADR at LeCellier for 4:00PM.

Where are the WHW held now? We are planning on attending next month when we are down there.

I'm wondering also. I'm figuring it's somewhere in the Epcot resorts area, and since I'll be at BCV in a couple weeks, I was planning to go.

They are still held at the Atlantic Dance Hall on Boardwalk at 4 pm on Wednesdays. We were there last week too but didn't win anything. I really liked getting the new "Dee Vee Cee" pin.

I attended the Chicago DVC event today. They did mention the new Dee Vee Cee pin. I was happy to mention that we received one this past Wed. Tigger- thanks for the compliment. I had a blast. Great memories from this trip. Know I have to see about the DVC Christmas party. We will be down at the projected date. It will be the same day we will be attending the Chrristmas party at MK. I would not mind a DVC ornament.

The questions for the most part are not hard - and if the contestants that are chosen don't know they answer, they ask the audience, whoever raises their hand first gets to answer. And then draw names from a box too for other prizes. The questions are both general Disneyana and DVC.

I'll probably be a minority of one , but I was looking forward to the DVC baseball caps. We don't collect pins, and we were going to attend our first one on our next vacation. I'm thinking DH may want to skip it now.

Anyone have a picture of the Pin? I was a "contestant" in February...we received one of the cooler/stadium seat chairs. My wife and i attend most Welcome Home Wednesdays when we're there.

Even though I have plenty of DVC hats, I would not want this pin and I am a pin collector. I am not, and I am being nice about this, a Dee Vee Cee fan by any stretch of the imagination.
