Welcome Wednesday

We are excited to say that we will be arriving at MCO at 2:30 PM on January 19th and staying at BWV for our first DVC stay and I really hope we can make it to the meeting by 4:00 PM. :goodvibes

We might be tempted to go directly to the meeting and check in after. :thumbsup2

Tracy, we still got a hat! We got white ones, they are really nice! They did hats and pins...pins weren't for everyone though. Maybe they mix it up? I would rather have a hat than a pin too. :goodvibes

Thanks Brook - I just won't say anything to DH and hope we get the hats. Glad to see I'm not the only one who would like the hats over the pins. :goodvibes

Friendsofpluto - if you go to the DVC Christmas Party - get there early. We went last year and there got to be a very, very long line to get it but it was really fun. Got pics w/ Mickey & Minnie and several others all in their Christmas garb. Loved the ornament and the "special" pins you got to buy there.

Just to clarify, by "Christmas Party" we mean the Merry Member Mixer held (almost) every Thursday in December? Or is there a distinct "Christmas Party" in addition to the Merry Member Mixer?

Have they officially announced the day and time for the Merry Mixer? I made our ADR with the assumption that the Merry Mixer will be on Thursdays.

2 questions if someone can answer about the WHW...
Do you have to pre-register or sign up in advance anywhere? If so, where or how.

About how long do they last?

We are going down in October and this would be our very first one.

Thanks!

No pre-registration is required, but you will have to show your DVC ID badge to get in...one badge will be sufficient for your entire group.

They generally run about an hour or so... sometimes depending on how quick the game is played. ....sometimes a little longer.

I'd make sure of the time. One time we went down, and missed it by an hour, and another time we went and it was canceled due to another event.

Have a great time... understand that this is kind of a "tounge-in-cheek" form of entertainment, or some would say "campy". It is a light hearted form of entertainment where you can gain some general disney/DVC information in the form of a Jeopardy style game show, and relax a little. ...and of course there's some sort of parting gift, most of the time baseball caps. We enjoy it, and it should be attended at least once, but from these boards i know others feel otherwise.

Welcome Home Wed was held at 4pm. Does anyone know what time the Merry Mixer is held? I bought my MVMCP tickets this night. I believe the Mixer was held at Epcot last year. Is this correct?

Here is a good thread about Merry Mixer:

And here is a good summation:
It's a DVC party held in a big tent outside the International gateway to Epcot. They usually have cookies, lemonade, etc, and the holiday characters come and have games and dancing for the kids. They give out a DVC ornament, and you are able to buy special trading pins if you choose to stand in line. Other years they have also had a give away gift basket, but not sure if they are doing that this year or not. It is usually each Thursday of December from 3-5.
