Sherry, I'll keep thinking good thoughts! I do hope you hear good news today!

Alan, you're a meanie!

Slow moving today. not sure why but nothing feels like it is getting done. I need to run errands but I sure don't feel like going out

Here's a funny for you...shows you just what a moron I am...I gave my kids assessments this week to determine if they have to stay in the reading class. So I give the 6th graders the ones that are different from the 7th and 8th. I was very proud of myself that I remembered to do it that way.

So yesterday I was grading one boy's and I expected him to test out of my class but instead of only getting one or two wrong out of the 48 he got 43 wrong :scared1: So I talked to him and asked why he thought he did poorly. So I told him I would let him take it again the next day and see if he had better luck. Not the best option but the only one I could come up wiht. In the meantime I graded two more tests and came up with the kids doing poorly too. So now i'm thinking that instead of instilling knowledge in children I'm really sucking them dry of their knowledge.

Well, this morning as I sat contemplating the reason for their poor performance it hit me. They were using the "K" book and I was grading it using the test they were SUPPOSED to take, the "L" book :rotfl: :rotfl: So once I graded it correctly the poor boy only had five wrong!!! He scored out two grades above his current grade. I left my other kids and ran down the hall to tell him that not onlly did he do much better than I thought but he was actually going to get out of my class!!! Before I knew it,he threw his arms around me and gave me the biggest hug. I felt horrible for making the poor kid think he had done so bad. :( But all is well now!!

Great "teech-r" story... :teeth:

Nancy...good thoughts to your DDIL's BF. that's awful! Lucky girl...Todd...was just asking about you yesterday...Alan...have fun on your cruise...I'm too chicken to take the kids on a cruise. Maybe when they are 30 I'll consider it!!
Elaine...a friend of mine was so short that she could buy capris for average height people and they would be full length for her!!...
Kimmar...great ketchups. How's school going up in New Joisey? It sucks here!! :teeth:...
tara

Not much better HERE - the 8th grade GEPA test is in a few weeks, and my 8th graders are NOT READY!! :guilty:

Yeah, yeah...I know..

*Alan goes back to his spot in the corner *

Although I did mean to say in that reply to Tara that we are not taking the kids with us. This is vacation ;)

I'm starting to suspect that while standing in the corner everyone else has left the room and turned out the lights......

well, maybe Alan ;)....but :badpc: dang...server busy is messing with me again...and it makes me mad

Alan...hahaha!! I know...some teachers are such dingbats!! Oh well!! Glad you are taking you and the missus on the tirp and making it a real vacation!!

...got THAT right.....

You do realize that I was teasing Tara about grading with the wrong book and not commenting on teachers in general, right? ;)

Nancy, same here too ;) Though I have been lucky and been a bit too busy today to care that much.

Poor Alan, sitting in a corner all by himself
(serves ya right)

Tara, good luck at the DMV, I am headed there in the next week or so myself. I hate going

Wanted to send prayers Nancy's way also...I left that out yesterday...

Amanda might need some prayers.. :rolleyes1 ...Been driving her crazy with this trip I am trying to put together next year...We are taking my parents out west next year...2 week trip with lots of driving..some of the sites we hope to see include Grand Canyon, Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Zion N.P., Byrce Canyon, Hoover Dam, Corn Palace, Black Hills, Mt. I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!!! :grouphug:

Hi, all. Bye, all. Off to get the rest of dinner done. I swear, sometimes I wonder how Ed survived without me. Called to find out what to make, then from to supermarket because he couldn't find the sauce we needed. Oy...then I got home and the stuff was waiting for ME to make it.

Suzanne

Wow..that is a trip, Todd. Covering lots of territory.
No Yosemite?

DMV.....hmmm....2 years to go here. Don't mind going there. Just have to time it right to miss the crowds.

Glad you've been busy, Elaine. Me too, but when I took my lunch break, I wanted to play :(

Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend? This 11 days is going VERY slow. Isn't it time to go yet??

Alan...we knew what you meant!! :teeth:

DMV wasn't terribly bad. I was only there about 50 minutes. The worst part was that the automated number thingy called my number and told me which window to report to. I went and then waited almost 10 minutes with no one at the window. People looked at me like I was a fool for standing there with no one assisting me. I finally asked the man at the next window (who didn't have anyone at his window) "did the person work here fall into a hole or did they die?" I told him that I was summoned to this window and that there was no one here to help me. So after mulling it around for a few seconds he agreed to help me. Never did see anyone go to that window!

What are we doing this weekend?? WE want to go to the zoo tomorrow but that is dependant on the weather. Supposed to be 70 degrees but there is a chance of rain...so we will play it by ear. That is all we have planned for the weekend.

Going to read a few other boards and then go night night! See you all tomorrow!

Quick hi... I know not much to catch up on, but I might meet friends for waffles for breakfast and I need sleep now if I do that.

Went out to dinner... supposed to do it again tomorrow.

Found a Minnie sweatshirt at TDS for only $20... and in an XS! I've *never* seen that size before!

Need to fly

'nite!

Morning, all.

Lainey, you saw an XS? I've never seen those, either. Hmmmmm, although you probably could fit into a kids 10/12, they fit a lot of 'kids at heart'. I'm looking forward to some Herbie T's-you'll see long sleeve, and we're getting short sleeve.

Grrr. I got an email at work, stating that I could download my w2 (we got this late last year, too). When I go to the website, it tells me to correct the errors highlighted in yellow, and NONE are. It worked fine last year! So much for doing my taxes this weekend. I can get my mortgage stuff online, too.

Ed did something different. I woke up and found that they house felt nice and comfy. Ends up that he left the Lanai screen open. Usually, this place is locked up like fort knox if anyone's sleeping, lol!

Gotta go to work in a couple of hours. I'm taking a brief DIS break before I go and be productive.

Suzanne

Morning all! Debating on if I really feel like going outside right now or not :teeth:

Todd, with that type of a trip, I will definitely keep Amanda in my prayers!!!! In all seriousness, have fun planning that trip, and even more so on it! Some of our friends did a similar type of trip with similar locations and loved it! Saw lots of neat things along the way :)

Karen, hope your mood is better today!

Suzanne, I am always shocked to think how the men survived with out us before ;) How long have you two been married though? You always seemed like such newlyweds to me ::yes::
And yep, and XS is what I wear almost everywhere I go now for shirts. Granted a couple of the slightly smaller cut places I prefer a S (or Juniors) for the chest alone. Some places and XS is too big. My pants size is closer to a S though (thank ye Lord for hips ) but in several places I am XS there as well. So yep, I do know that a M in kids fits and I do try them on. Only once in a blue moon will I not like them due to the arm length. I almost bought a child's coat at WDW but the arms were about 1-2" too short. Wound up with an adult S and it is swimming on me. But oh well. Sucks to be a shorty sometimes. I swear if I were about 4" taller I'd never have that problem!

Nancy, so sorry that your play time didn't work out for you! That really does suck. Since I am very easily distracted, I do float from job to job around the house, so if it isn't moving here, I won't bother to sit down for a minute, I just move onto another thing.

Tara, glad you survived the DMV... I really need to go sometime in the next 2 weeks. My license expires two weeks from today  and while I could travel with my passport, I doubt they'd let me rent the convertable w that one :p

I think I'm going to look at the temp... if it is too cold, I doubt I'll head out. Oh dinner out tonight again for us. Nothing too exciting tomorrow.

Morning, all! Getting ready to check out and hit the road for home. Been a stressful few days and my poor DH was exhausted, so I let him sleep in. Thank you all for all your thoughts and prayers.

Been thinking about MJ and praying for that situation, as well. I can certainly empathize.

Lucky Alan and Rebecca!! A cruise!! Ya'll deserve it and I know you'll have a wonderful time.

Sorry it's still so soggy up there, Nancy. Hope the next week speeds by for you, for sure! I know you'll it will be a super trip!! Give my love to Pooh!

Tara, I loved your "teacher story". Too funny about trying to grade the kid's test with the wrong answer key. Definitely sounds like something I would do.

Well, Dave is out of the shower and we are just about all packed up, so I best give him the computer to pack. I'm working the crop at the store tonight, so I will see ya'll tomorrow. :grouphug:
