It's going to be one of those mornings. I just got back from a doctor's appointment. One that isn't supposed to occur until NEXT Wednesday. Apparently the person with whom I made the appointment 8 weeks ago told me the WRONG date. So I came in to work today (despite my son having oral surgery to have his wisdom teeth removed this morning), left for lunch an hour early (to be on time), and found the doctor's office locked and dark. A quick phone call revealed that I was wrong. Heaven forbid that they make a mistake. Apparently they told me 12/29 and I heard and wrote down 12/22. I guess I should have known that something was up when I didn't get a call from their office reminding me of today's appointment. Grrrr.

So I hope that the rest of the day goes better. I might just head home after lunch (round two) and see how James is doing.

I had that happen to me too, John. With the dentist.
But my appointment was actually earlier than they told me....good thing they did call to remind me or I wouldn't have been there.
I took my appointment card to show them.,...it was THEIR fault.

Hope James is doing well. Christin was out of it for a day and then wasn't too bad.

:wave2: Hi Lily!

Nancy, not a boring day really... just don't want to do anything today. And htere are things I definitely need to do ;)

Tomorrow though, I might just pop in a DVD and knit. I did want to get a scarf done by Saturday night. We'll see

John, sorry about teh appt... I've had that happen, but fortunately they called to remind me before I went the wrong day. Never had it off by a week though!

And best wishes to James! I ws doing pretty good by the night after I had mine removed :)

hi gang...so much for posting everytime I looked in yesterday...i didn't get to look in as much as I wanted to.

We went to OUtback for dinner last night (the deaf and hard of hearing teachers and interpreters and honorary me). We had ressies for 6pm and when we got there they wanted to put us at 2 booths...uh...no...we made the ressie so we could all sit together cuz we were doing a christmas exchange. So we told them we wanted to wait. The manager was very nice and set us up in the bar with 2 free appetizers and bread. We were finally seated an hour after we were supposed to be (they were waiting for a table to finsih up!). But we had a good time anyway!! The margarita's helped too!!

I came home and went to bed, I was so tired I couldn't see straight.

This morning I stopped at WAWA to get gas and my coke. While I was in there I got a cup of hot chocolate. Well, the guy in front of me was getting hot chocolate but adding a little of the Mocha Alert Cappaucino (high octaine caffine). He told me that it really made the hot chocolate velvety. So I tried it. It was wonderful...then the caffine hit and I have been bouncing around like a dang yoyo all morning!! :teeth: it really was high octaine stuff!!

John...sorry about the doc, hope James feels better after his surgery! yuck!! Have I mentioned how much I hate dentists? I have I mentioned that I have to have 4 hours worth of work on my teeth next week? My dislike of dentists is why they are giving me Valium when I arrive :teeth:

Elaine...I would love a boring day!!!

Beth and Karen...I would love to take the whole day off but I used all of my personal days for WDW and so I have to take it without pay :( so I have to come in. But in the future I will be lying to them to make sure I don't have to use personal time. It sucks to be an honest person.

Nancy...enjoy your movie. I've heard of DVD's but I don't think I would even know what to do with one if I had one!! :rotfl:

Amanda...I have plenty of things your DD could label for me :teeth: Stop in when you can!

Pam...you get all the work done that you had to do??

Lily...

JRKaren... I hope that was a temproary hello/goodbye and not a permanent good bye! I think you need to say "see ya later" or "I'll be back"...don't scare us like that!!

Okay, gotta do some work!!

hugs to all!!
tara

I'm glad to hear Dave's mother is improving.

Sherry, nice to see you! I hope y'all have a great Christmas.

We are actually going to do a Christmas Eve service with friends at their church because we are not crazy about the one our church does. :teeth:

But we will be there Christmas morning. I suspect we will be up in plenty of time to get ready, especially since there will not be a Sunday School hour.

And Lainey, I see you at least narrowed it down to us Southern Baptists. However, we are not lazy. We get plenty of exercise by flying off the handle and jumping to conclusions.

I believe you mentioned something about margaritas? Perhaps that explains the vision problems. ;)

You realize this is not the first time I have thought of you as a yo-yo don't you? :) It's nice to have a YaYa YoYo though.

Yeah, what she said....

Just got a call from Sue. Apparently, we got out money's worth with James' wisdom tooth extraction because his surgery went VERY long. I guess that all four of his teeth were severely impacted. I feel badly for my baby. I hope that he doesn't have any nerve damage from the surgery. That's my greatest fear. I know that his oral surgeon is a good one, but I am still praying for a good outcome.

Tara - For the record, I'm not very fond of the dentist either (although they don't have to give me vallium).

Thanks for all of your concern.

Not sure how to take the Southern Baptist thing since I am also Southern Baptist...

Alan, we are still having Sunday School. We will be at church from 10am till 12pm. Good thing the church is across the street from my Dad's house.

John, I had 5 impacted wisdom teeth removed. Talk about moneys worth. I had no pain, felt great. Todd had his removed and also felt great, unfortunately his jaw now 'POPS' when he chews. Drives me insane. I use to love to eat without the television on, no more...need it to drawn out the 'POP'.

Cassie left after we went to lunch. She had fun. One lady here gave her magazines to go to town on. Give the kid magazines, tape and scissors and she is in heaven for hours.

It is dead here...next week will be worse. Oh well, I have projects to work on.

Now if I could just get my manager to Geneva. Appears the picture we sent for his VISA is too close up. Funny how that picture has been fine for all the VISAs he has applied for in the last 2 years...including the same as what we are applying for now. Of course with him on vacation this is throwing a 'glitch' in my day. Taking another route would double his cost. UGH!

Gotta go.... :moped:

Yeah, what she said....

hehee!! That could have had something to do with it!! But I was not impaired, I wouldn't drive impaired...just tired! :teeth:

That's me...the YAYA YOYO!! :rotfl:

Oh, so that's what all that weird activity that went on when I saw y'all at WDW. You know, Catholics can be known for that as well... maybe I'll make a real one out of you yet ;)

Tara, sorry about the wait at Outback, but nice you got free food with it. I do wonder though... mixing margaritas and high octane coffee... wouldn't they just cancel each other out? :p

John, I hope that he won't have any nerve damage. I know my brothers were also severely impacted, and ohter than being whiny (he does it well... I love him but he does ;)) he came out fine!

Oh Amanda, pay no attention to Alan and I... we tease each other about religious stuff quite a bit! Neither of us is one bit serious about it either ;)
Glad that Cassie had fun! I used to have a bunch of washable markers in my drawer at work. Came in handy many times... especially when little ones would visit. Give them a stack of scrap paper and those and they would be thrilled! Good luck with the VISA for your boss.

Oh and Tara... I think a Yo Yo Ya Ya is a bit on the "conservative" end for ya, don't ya think? :love2:

They would have if I had done them back to back!! I drank the coffee this morning!! (although given the recent history of some teachers in VB apparently drinking margaritas for breakfast is quite common!! :rotfl: )

Headed out of work and home to pick up the clan. Then we are headed out for a bite to eat and then to Super Walmart :confused3 We have eaten everything we bought for Christmas morning so we must stock up again! :rotfl:

Hope to be back later...but if not...have a good evening!

Howdy.

Okay, a good deed was rewarded today! I was supposed to leave work at noon, but we had to vacate a storage facility. No big, I'll take 2 hours overtime. THEN, I get on a conference call with my Dist. Mgr and she says absolutely no overtime. I ended up staying til 3 and earned Christmas Eve off. Woohoo!

MIL is still in surgery. Ed should be calling any minute to let me know how it went.

Bethie, hooray, no more crutches! As a veteran of moving during the holidays, I agree that you should put up decorations. Makes it seem a little better.

Tara, Margarita? Not a Wallaby Darned? Those are yummy.

Nancy, glad you figured out what to make and got a day off from the baking!

Gotta go grocery shopping and address those cards.

Back later.

Suzanne

Hey All,

Been a quiet day. The kids were at camp and I was home. They are doing all kinds of fun things at camp so they wanted to go. Tomorrow is their party and they want to go to that too so I will be home alone again tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow I can get their gifts wrapped. I wanted to do that today but I was waiting for their meds to come from Fedex and that got all messed up. I only got one kids meds and they were delivered to my office not home. Got that all fixed up with the company and now the other meds will come tomorrow. I couldnt get out to the store to get the wrapping paper. Gonna do that tonight after dinner when dh is at home to keep the kids.

Very quick hi... Luis and I haven't had a Thursday night to ourselves in a while... so we are enjoying it together. While he is watching football (bowl week widow here) I am off to get some ice cream!

:rotfl: Tara, good luck with the shopping! Hopefully it isn't too bad for y'all!

Woohoo for Christmas Eve off Suzanne! Glad to hear it :)

Good luckw ith wrapping Karen!

I'll be back later! Tomorrow I am happy to say I will be knitting most of the day as soon as I clean up in the kitchen. Thinking I might make empanadas tomorrow too since I have a lot of time to roll dough... and they are good for left overs!

See y'all later!

Yay!! for the day off, Suzanne.

I'm headed off too....:wave2: See ya tomorrow.

Cant sleep so Ive been reading the boards.

Suzanne your MIL has been in my prayers all day long. How did the surgery go? Will she be in the hospital for Christmas? Congrats on getting Christmas Eve off! Thats so wonderful!

I just figured something out that made me happy. I took some time off for Christmas and figured I would lose about two days pay. Well I just refigured it out and I am only losing one days pay not two and I have six days off in a row!
