Thanks Nancy!!

We have to come back on Jan. 3. I'm surprised they don't have us back on the 2nd. But I would refuse to come since that is the day of the Rose Parade and I can't miss the Rose Parade (unless I miss understood the ad for it on HGTV).

I'm a little ticked...I have a meeting at Jarrod's school for his special ed. eligibility screening at 915 on the 3rd. I asked if I could take it as sick time (I should have just done it and kept my mouth shut...that's what I get for being honest). The principal told me no that I had to take it as personal leave since my class will need to be covered. Heck, I might just take the whole day and extend my Christmas vacation!! that would show them!!

Anyway, most of my Christmas cards are addressed. I have come to realzie though that I need more cards...I didn't think I knew that many people!! hehehe (most of which are from here!!)

Alan...hope the girls feel better soon. I have one with an ear infection and a sinus infection. thank goodness for amoxocillian!! Cures what ails you!!

tara

2 chores crossed off the list - bindings are on the skis - and the guy at the shop said I got a fantastic pair of skis for DS!! Yahoo - because I also got a fantastic price on them!

I also did the grocery shopping. :Pinkbounc And stopped at Subway! :rolleyes1

And got 5 presents wrapped.... :teeth:

Elaine - DS joined the HS Ski Club, they will take a bus each Saturday to Peak 'N Peak in NY.

DD prefers to go up further in NY to Holiday Valley. In fact, that's where she is right now.

Well -- I have to wrap more presents, do laundry, iron DS's shirt for the concert and then start supper. I can see that the invoices and cleaning/decorating will be pushed back to tomorrow. :guilty:

Pam, Yay for the wrapped presents. Hope you're not doing invoices on Christmas.

Alan, goodthing you got to the doc before Christmas. Hope the young ones get to feeling better quiclky and that they keep it to themselves!

Tara, sorry about the morning appointment thing. It is difficult managing things as this when you are required to be at your job during the day.

Nancy, what's on the menu?

Kimmar, just thought of this... just be glad I don't add confetti to my cards. When I do, it can be a real pita to deal with. I did one far worse than Nancy last year :p
....

Yay for E! NOT puttin' 'fetti inmy card.....uhhhh, WHAT card??!?!? :scratchin

Tara, that sounds like an awfully short break compared to what I am used to in schools. Hope your boys get well soon!

Yay for getting through chores Pam! I just got through my ironing. Finishing up putting away clothes is up next. And ty... I have a feeling those places are a bit too far away for me to consider. Not that I am sure I will ski again. The 2nd to last time I skied, I hurt my knee terribly. And when I went back the next year (same place in NY that I hurt it) I just didn't have the strength to do it. Though Luis said once he wanted to try... we'll see ;)

:wave2: Hi Lily!

Kimmar, I dont' think I have your address anymore. I have a spreadsheet of all the people I send to. I did lose some names though over time and due to transferring. Sorry

Back to chores... fun fun ;)

Not sure what is on the menu yet (at least not the main event) Waiting for Christin to get home from work to tell me....it was between ham and turkey (or both). Since she won't eat either  no idea what I am waiting on her for ;)
Green salad, veggie tray, rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole ;), sweet potatoes, pecan pie and chocolate cheesecake. Does that sound like enough? :teeth: I see us eating leftovers all week.

DS used to ski with the HS...so much easier for us ::yes::
How far does he have to go, Pam?

LOL..most of my cards went to DIS people too, Tara....and most that we have received have come from them too.
I think we lost touch with people we "really" know ;)

Alan....hope the girls get well fast....and aren't too uncomfortable with what they have. And...hope they don't share that.

Our schools got out last Friday and go back the 2nd....2 weeks this year. I think that is pretty usual, if I remember correctly.

Nancy, that menu sounds good to me! I think we are having turkey breast this year (only 4 meat eaters). I did get makings for stuffing (save the apples and nuts I'll pick up on Monday) and gravy. I will probably get the potatoes on Monday as well. Might either make flan or chocolate chip cookies. I rarely make flan though... might be time to have it again. We'll have some bread (I can whip up biscuits in no time though), veggies and cranberry sauce I bet. Luis is off the day we are doing the family thing, so I'm sure my dad and I will do most of the cooking since I believe my sister & BIL are at work. No problems here though :)

Clothes are sorted, folded, ironed and hung up... I was waaaaaay behind on that!

Besides being a lazy bum...

I'm too dang nosey to say hi every time I pop in.. then y'all will figure out how nosey I really am with the pure number of posts I make just seeing what is all said.

If that made sense...

off to heat up left overs. Lily, I laughed because last night we didn't have the left over stew because of the pizza (not unlike y'all)

 :rotfl:

The decision is.....ham!! ;)

We're having chicken fajita roll-ups....ala Applebee's...just finished the pico de gallo and the dipping sauce.

Have a good everning everyone.

Hey All,

Well we got our checks today. Bosses wife was surprised he didnt give them to us yesterday. Oh well. We also got an added surprise. I got a bonus and a nice one. That was so nice especially since I havent been there a year yet. I also got a big ole hug from the bosses wife before she left for the day since I wont see her before christmas because I am off until Wednesday of next week.

Tara Im sorry you are not getting much time off for the Christmas break. Our kids last day was last Friday so they get two weeks also. Mine have been at camp all week through the city. They have been having a good time. They want to go bowling tomorrow so they are going to camp rather than staying with me. Gives me time to wrap their presents though which is good. Im glad to hear your doctors visit went well and that you were deemed healthy again. Im sorry to hear you have to use personal time to do the stuff for Jar instead of sick time. Dh's company is like that too. I would take the whole day and let them try and find a sub for you on the day after Christmas Break.

Elaine Im sorry to hear that the weather is playing so badly with your sinuses. That happens to me too sometimes. Try to stay as hydrated as possible with warm fluids. The humidifier is also a good idea as well as steam inhalations if you can stand to do them.

Nancy your menu sounds wonderful!

Alan I hope the girls get better quickly. Poor kiddos. Glad you found out about it though before Christmas when it would have been impossible to get a doctor to see them. I will keep them in my prayers.

Pam you busy girl you! Sounds like you got a lot accomplished today. Im praying you are able to get the rest done when you want to get it done.

Hi Lily! How ya doing sweetie?? How cold is it there. Its probably just chilly here for you but its in the 50's and for us thats cooooold LOL! :cold:

Tomorrow is just going to be a quiet day for me. I will take the boys to camp and then come home and wrap presents. I also have to wait for a delivery of the kids meds. Hopefully I will also get a call from the neurologist who STILL hasnt called me back even though I called again today. Sigh....frustrating.

Well I think Im gonna get the kidlets into bed and get myself into bed. Its cold and Im tired.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

Ham sounds good! I think we usually do that if we have a larger group. Though I do love making ham gravy!

yay for the bonus, Karen! Enjoy it!

I'm heading off to bed... see y'all later!

Evening, all.

Two twelve hour days in a row have made me scarce. All the christmas shopping is done, except for my stepdad. We're not sure if we'll see him-I'll know tomorrow afternoon.

MIL's surgery is tomorrow around noon. She's in good spirits, just not happy that she needs it. Guarantees that she'll be in the hospital for Christmas. I guess the silver lining in that is that it is the first Christmas without Nancy-that was already going to be hard.

Got the Christmas cards, but haven't had time to address them. Would be nice if I could steal time away at work, but that's not gonna happen!

Nancy, Pecan pie homemade? Yum!

Alan, Baptists sleep later, but they've got a much longer service!

Kimmar, watch out-we may all confetti you!

Elaine, if I said hi everytime some days, I'd have about 20 :wave2: Most days, the time I post is about the only time I get online.

Pam, sooooo are you going to wrap wet, used skis? :rotfl2:

I ordered that World of Disney tree skirt and it arrived today. It's gorgeous-lined and everything. (psst, to get to the 50 bucks and free shipping, I bought the toppers, too)

Uh oh, Ed's looking at the clearance catalog that came with the order. He's just as bad, if not worse about buying stuff from them, lol!

Suzanne

Grrr... I'm still not seeing when replies are coming in... I suppose y'all will have to see me :wave2: a lot ;)

Suzanne, I hope you get to relax sometime soon... sounds like you've been super busy lately. Best wishes to your MIL today with the surgery. Does stink she'll be in for Christmas, but I'm sure y'all will make do.

So far I have a boring day ahead of me. I have more cleaning to catch up on and I need to wrap presents this weekend. Especially the kitty ones :teeth: The rest don't need to be done until the 27th and since Luis and I only do small gifts, his isn't wrapped, but wil go in his stocking :)

Hi all.....been lurking a little, but not much. Work has been hectic. My boss moved closer to the big boss and work has increased for both of us.

Alan...Baptist don't get to sleep in. I go to Midnight Mass with Todd's parents and then have to get up to get ready for church the next morning. Need to be at Dad's by 9:30am, he is about 30 minutes away. By the time I get the girls up and ready, it is still getting up earlier than I like. Actually my brother is giving me a hard time about breakfast on Christmas morning. He thinks I should 'skip' church so we can do the Christmas breakfast together like we did last year. He doesn't go to church. I told him no way. Christmas was about Christ and my focus was going to be there.

The girls are doing great. Cassie is at work with me right now. Not sure I will have any tape left in the label. Anyone want their name on a label :goodvibes Todd and Mandy are suppose to come at lunch time and Cassie will go home with them.

Have a terrific day everyone....gotta get to work!

Good morning Ya Ya Family! It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood-- :sunny: and a crisp 20º, headed for a high in the low 40s! Only snow that's left is the dirty stuff that was piled up by the plows in the parking lots and some areas that get no sun. But life is good and I got to put the crutches away in the trophy case yesterday!! Knee is not fully healed and doc says I will need surgery eventually, but he wants to put it off as long as possible by trying the cortisone shots. Wasn't anywhere near as bad as I had been lead to believe--I've had allergy shots that hurt more! So, I'm back behind the wheel and will be able to ring my bells with no trouble at all 3 services Christmas eve!

It's amazing how feeling better changes your outlook, too. I didn't care about Christmas decorating mostly because it was just too hard, since I couldn't do much. Now, I've asked Dave if he minds taking the tree stuff over to the new place over the next two days (it's a minimum of 2 car loads!) and tomorrow night I'll get it all trimmed so we have it to enjoy for at least part of the season. I'm hoping we can get moved next week, still haven't gotten ahold of a mover, but we'll see.

We're going up to NJ to see Dave's mom on Christmas Day. She had another fall and they found she was having some real problems with irregular heartbeat. Dave and his sister were preparing for the worst since she looked so bad. A pacemaker was put in yesterday and mom has virtually made a complete turnaround! Her color is back, her spirits are higher, she's got much more energy and she's eating like a horse! Thank the Lord! We'll have dinner with the rest of the family, then, and I'm really looking forward to that, since I haven't been to a family dinner in years. There may be as many as 15-20 folks there!!! Can't wait!

Suzanne, hope all goes well with your MIL's surgery, will be keeping her in my prayers. Also hope you are able to get some rest. I can certainly sympathize with the extended work hours and exhaustion! A day off mid-week sure helps me ALOT!!!

Nancy, I hope the dinner we're going to has a menu as tasty as yours sounds!! I vote for the ham too!! And the homemade pecan pie....sigh......heck, I'll settle for store-bought. Haven't had that in a looooong time. YUM!!

Pam, sounds like you really scored with the skis! Hope DS has a great time with them! Get the paper put to bed and the invoicing done? You deserve some time to relax and enjoy the holidays, too!

Laine, now that your laundry is sorted, folded, ironed and put away, can you come do mine? I'm pretty far behind and haven't ironed in about a month! sounds like you are heading for a nice family holiday too. Enjoy!!

Tara, that positively stinks that you have to stay in school so long before the holiday break! Are they expecting so many snow days that they scheduled such a short time off? And grrrr to having to take personal leave to go to Jar's school meeting! If they want to be that inflexible about it, you may as well take the whole day, like you said! Oh, and I'm right there with you on the Rose Parade! I haven't been paying much attention to the TV lately--you say they aren't doing it on the 1st as usual?! Hmmmmmm, because it's a Sunday? But they play football on Sunday all the time, what's the difference? Maybe they were trying to give the workers another day off from their regular jobs?!! LOL!!

Alan, what a shame the girls had to come down sick again so close to Christmas. Hope they feel better quickly and the holiday is joyful in every way for all of you! How's the Mrs.' ankle doing?

Hey, Kimmar!!! Sorry I wasn't able to put the confetti in your card--I couldn't find it until AFTER all my cards went out! Knowing how much you enjoy confetti-filled cards.......:teeth:

Well, my time here is up. Gotta head for the store and make the coffee!! Ya'll have a wonderful day and I'll ketchup with you again tonight, I hope.
:grouphug:

Boy am I tired.. and the stupid server busy error was bugging me!

:wave2: Hi Pam!!! Don't work too hard today!

Amanda, nice to see you stop in! And too cute with Cassie! If she is trying to make more, tell her I'd love one :teeth:
Oh and I think them S. Baptists are more lazy than the rest of y'all
:duck:
(ly/mi Alan)

Bethie, glad that your mood is improving! And glad to hear the knee is improving! I hope surgery won't be too bad when it comes up! Oh and no thanks on the laundry... it was bad enough to do my own ;) best wishes to your MIL

I've been at this reply for far too long! Phone interrupted it

Good morning.

Boring day, Elaine? Pop in a movie....I plan to. Today is my day to do what I want, of course there will be things I feel I have to do.
Tomorrow starts the pre-holiday cleaning and shopping, etc.

Beth...so glad you're feeling better. Too bad we all aren't closer, we could have a tree-trimming party :bounce:
Glad MIL is feeling better.

Amanda....good to see you  We miss you and Todd around here.
Cassie can make labels for all the BaBs. That should keep her busy :teeth:
Mine are Lily, Wally, Bianca, Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, George, Jorge, Sage, Herbie, Basil, Cookie, Nicholas and Pigasus :)

Suzanne....hope you get some rest soon.
Christin scored Christmas Eve off :bounce:

Yes, stupid server busy caused me to lose a PM this morning  I am copying now before I post...just in case.

Yay!! for bonuses, Karen.
We still have to deal with paying taxes on the check Dave got
