Elaine.....how big a pot of noodles do you need??? I would probably make them the night before too..but just b/c I'm NEVER out of bed on time in the mornings.....how are you going to reheat them???

Your post reminded me of a question I have or rather a request....I want to make a vegetable soup this weekend...does anyone have a chicken broth based recipe??? I'm not really into the tomato based ones. THANKS!!!

Forgot to say hi to Kimmar!! Hi CS too!!!

Kristy, I will have a crock pot with the sauce and was just going to mix it all in there in the morning, so the sauce will be hot and figured the noodles would get warm fairly quickly too. I am making a big old pot of stuff for tomorrow and if I have leftovers I can alwyas freeze. But with this group of guys, many bring containers to bring home left overs!!!! So the better my food is, the less I take home ;)

Off to head to the store now. Need to pick up the beef for the sauce and a can of tomato paste for tomorrow just in case I need to add it in.

See y'all later :)

and let it sit in the fridge till the morning. Premixed spaghetti is always more yummy the second day if you ask me. The flavors of the sauce get nice and absorbed by the noodles and YUMMY!!!!! That is JMHO!!

Alphabet Soup

Recipe By :50's Prime Time Cafe, Disney-MGM Studios
Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Soup

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1/4 cup carrots -- diced
1/4 cup rutabaga -- diced
1/4 cup celery -- diced
1/4 cup onion -- diced
1 cup crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup peas
1/4 cup frozen green beans
2 tablespoons pearl barley -- cooked, cooled
1/4 cup alphabet pasta -- cooked, cool
3 cups water
2 chicken bouillon cubes
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in
1/4 cup water

In soup pot, add water and bouillon. Bring to boil. Simmer, covered, 15 minutes.
Add carrots, rutabaga, celery, and onions. Simmer 15 minutes or until tender but not mushy.
Separately cook, rinse, drain, and cool barley and alphabet pasta. Set aside.
After vegetables are tender, add tomatoes, peas, and green beans.
Simmer an additional 5 minutes.
Stir in cornstarch and water. Allow soup to thicken slightly and add barley and pasta.
Heat only long enough to warm all ingredients.

Sloooowww again :(

No, Liz, no movie...took kitty #4 to the vet for shots, but she ended up not getting them and getting blood and urine tests instead. She's a sick little girl :(

No fear, Liz, I volunteer to watch Pirates for you....how many times do you want to watch it? :teeth:

Welcome back, Alan :wave2:

Elaine, I want spagehetti!! But I'm on Atkins too :( At least for a while....good way to get a jump start.

Liz...Happy birthday to Greg! You could go with an Atkins-friendly cheesecake or Carborite Bars....the Caramel Crispy ones are pretty good ;) (not as good as the REAL stuff, but better than nothing).

Bethie, I think you need to post more around Jeannie and Pam... I think they look for their posts now since they are known to be zany

Elaine - that's really code talk for us being weird, huh???:hyper:

Really - we don't do anything - except erase our tags ...
:o And Boo - I love what you tagged yourself with!! :teeth:

Alan - your interview will be at 7:45 am - don't forget to wear your chaps and spurs......

Cooking questions - EEK!!:earseek: Don't ask me anything.....

CS....I'll see if Ty is available for this job ;)
LOL Alan...I don't think that guy will work.
Elaine....if you're using the crockpot, I would go with Liz's idea...I just don't like for my noodles to get too cold is icky.
Nancy....yummy...but I'm so NOT a mastercook, and need an easier recipe ::yes::

Alan
You call that a man?

Can't resist, saw RHPS many weekends during my college years! All though if Riff showed up, he can hang out with me, I seem to attract the weirdos!

Hey all! :wave2:

No time for a ketchup, wanted to pop in and say hi!

DH had his first physical therapy session yesterday. The girl said he did really good. He goes again tomorrow, then MWF for the next month. The dr. has changed his date to go back to work to MARCH!!  He is going to try to get him to change it, but I don't think that will happen.

Hi there YaYas!:wave2:
Not staying tonight. Boards too slow for me right now.
Like the pics though. Suzanne, that is a cute coupple of guys you got there. All the other pics I like too.:teeth:

DS has the loans in his name. We figure it would make him want to do this more.

Feel kind of sick, going to crawl in bed and see if I can get the POTC from DS to occupy me.

Liz, give me all the nap time you got. I think I can't have too much right about now.
g'nite pirate:
