Jeannie, I do agree, we seem to have some open minded people here... and I think it is about the issue at hand (whatever it may be) and not anything to do with who it is. Just how I think though (and yep, we all know I am a looney)

Lily, I respect your right not to vote!!! Very cool!!! I just don't like to be the one who makes decisions on locations and all so voting is a good way to do it

Well we all know I'm politically incorrect and ornery too. I dont think we should have to change the name from Roadkill Cafe to Roadside Cafe. These whiney people need to get a life. Its just a thread--harmless to any and all animals. So my vote is for the Yaya Roadkill Cafe.
Dh and the boys are watching Terminator 3 but so far to me it looks just like the second one. Well I have limited time here. Ds breathing down my neck to get on computer.

I'm guessing that this seems to be a unanimous vote so far for Roadkill Cafe!!! That's cool!!!

Anyone feel like discussing that "PC" stuff dealing with it more? My honest thought on this... the Ya Ya's have been a long standing group here... if anything it would get a few slightly more interested in who we are than to offend. Now I am the first to not to want to offend someone, and I say unless it seems to be a mistake or a problem, that naming the next one "Welcome to the Ya Ya Roadkill Cafe" (& Bed and Breakfast... if you all like that as it has been tossed otu a couple of times) will be the way to go with it... of course our very own Jeannie could help with the story of how we got there.

Now with that said, if there are strong objections *here* within *this* group, I'd listen to those a lot quicker than just a possibility of bothering others outside. And if you do have a real problem with it, let me know and we'll make it work so all aren't too uncomfortable (PM too if you need). I don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill (gack, didn't believe i said that) but I also do realize this can be a very sensitive issue... so I don't want to bother anyone with it. Hopefully it doesn't though

I am all for the whole Roadkill thing, but if Pam is fearful of getting flamed, I think we should reconsider the name. I personally thought Nancy's was quite funny...you know the one that said you know what Pam cook with!!! But if anybody is gonna flame a yaya...look out cause you will have me to contend with!!! Today is Greg's birthday, so I got up REALLY early to pass out presents and good cheer, and now it is time for me to pass out in my beddie!! It is a beautiful thing to wake up and wish someone OLDER than you a happy birthday!! Of course I only rubbed it in a "little" bit that he is so much older than me...(4 years).

Nap schedule is wide open today!! Just let me know when I need to nap for you and I will accomodate. 10 - 11 is bad for me though....I am getting hooked on a daytime reality show, Starting Over. I love the drama of a bunch of distressed women living "happily" in one big house!! Ah, gotta love TV!!

So on that note, I am headed back to beddie bye!! PoohSue, love the pic!! Too cute!!

What is the scoop on student loans?? This will run $18,000 a year!! We will pay a set amount and then she's on her own - so she knows she has to get loans - can she do that in her name?? What about the first year - I thought they wanted it all paid for to make sure the student will stay in school??

Deena - that was the only college she applied to! Had her heart set on that one - and a lot of other kids got rejected! I think I will have a major party - but then I remember that I have to chip in on the costs and she reminds me that she will be home frequently - probably with her laundry and needing more $$$!

Fire away the questions.....I am very well versed in borrowing money from those kind Direct Student Loan people....but I also know how to get grants and scholarships as well!!! When in college (not that long ago) I workend in the Finacial Aid office!!! I learned a lot of valuable information!!

Pam, the student loans I got were in my name. I started off with the subsidized loans from the govt. Fortunately between that and what my dad said he was going to give, I came out okay. I had (I think) $21K from my dad and $16K in student loans by the time I was done. Man typing that out... $47K for 4.5 years (Ohio State makes it impossible to graduate in 4 years unless you do extra courses here and there, and I wasn't going to kill myself to do that) But if she can start with student loans then she can hold off on interest being accrued until after she gets out of school. There are other loans she can get out there as well (all able to be in her name). I'd start here http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and go from there to see what you'll need. Good luck, and it sure can be done!!!

Morning all!

I'm with Nancy on the location thing. I'll back ya'll whatever you decide to call it. But, I do think B & B should be in it.

Well, ya'll the inspection was done and the list of demands is absolutely ridiculous. More cosmetic than actual things that need to be fixed/corrected. We already took the offer which was less than listed price. So, now we go to battle over this inspection thing. I'm not getting a good feel for this.

Elaine wish I were there to help ya with the knitting. Casting on /off was not my best but, it's all a matter of getting the right tension/consistency to start. Haven't knitted in quite some time and the one and only sweater I made I couldn't get over my head when I was done .

Suzanne, great pic of your guys! Looks/sounds like they are having a blast.

Can you believe it's snowing again - temps are falling - going from 30 (which we haven't seen for soooo long - I think that lasted all of 5 hours ) into the teens by late afternoon - with an anticipated 2-4 inches of the white stuff - then temp falls to 4 during the night with a windchill of below zero.

Punxsutawney Phil better come through for me!!! (Or guess what we will be serving up on the Cafe Menu.... )

Hmmm... quiet morning in here. I just got an annoying e-mail... "Please don't start any work on these orders until we find out if this is what we want to do or not" Ummm... kay I got this order 2.5 weeks ago, what did they think I was going to do with it??? Oh well.

Rose Mary, I've heard that about the tension and all that with knitting. Someone told me that if you get the right needle size it is so much easier to get right... we'll see. I am thinking I am just going to have to do this left handed and go from there. Starting with a scarf should help since it doesn't need to make it over my head

Well now I just get to wait on someone to decide if I can go ahead with the work or not. It's truly annoying when this happens.
