I will be working on it tomorrow and try to find a permanent solution to that. I'm quite miffed, but dont' feel like messing with it anymore today. I really really really did NOT want to climb through the craw space tomorrow though. So wish me luck as I fix this!

Headed out early in the morning for a fun day of shopping and talking with my friend.

You could've saved that cattle prod for me, but I rounded up the family idiot yesterday When someone is in my mom's condition, you DON'T start telling other family members about her house being your legacy. Geez.

Was going to go back to the hospital, the oncologist was giving my mom and sister a hard time about her decision and hovering, trying to get her to change her mind. Unfortunately, I was at teacher conferences when this went on, so I didn't get the calls. All resolved now, going at the crack of dawn to help out.

Our bright spots today were that the boys got their report cards. Kevin got three awards and Neil did far better than we expected in the first marking period of mainstream. His teacher says he will definitely be honor roll next marking period! Too bad he was home sick once last marking period and again today.

Tara, I try not to be that parent! We went in expecting to hear Kev needs to buckle down and Neil isn't doing his work. Surprise!

Jeannie's going to France? Woohoo! Please come back and tell me it's just like Impressions de France at Epcot. That movie has me salivating at the idea of going.

Karen, got anywhere to evacuate to? Probably shouldn't be too bad since you're on the other side of landfall.

Shep, loved the Mammoth Cave pics...so, historic entrance...does that mean you did the 2 hour or 4 hour tour? On my list of places to go back to, did the 4 hour many years ago, then my sis and dad did the overnight that I missed.

Okay, got phone calls to make and info to find out. Florida laws regarding transport out of state and catholic burial requirements-want to make sure we have our facts right...

Suzanne you are in my thoughts and prayers. Do we need to send the cheeto patrol out after the legacy person?? After the week I have had Im ready to cheeto anything that moves so Im game!! CONGRATS on the kids report cards!!! How wonderful!!! Nope we really dont have anywhere to evacuate to as the only family we have down here lives on the side of Florida that will get hit first, which reminds me I need to call them tonight. Its gonna get nasty down here but I think we will be okay. We have a generator if the power goes out and lots of supplies. I dont think the winds will be bad enough to say rip off roofs or anything like that. maybe shingles but that would be about it. Im worried about you too. If this thing heads more north then you are in its path. Have you been able to prepare with all the other things you have had on your plate? Do you have anywhere you can go? This is sooooooo not the week for you to have to worry about this too. If you need anything kiddo or a buddy to talk to call me okay?

Elaine Im sorry you are having connection problems. Im still using dh's computer when his cable modem is up because we still do not have phone service so my DSL wont work. Thankfully I called the phone company today to ask exactly WHEN we will get phones because they had it down that the problem in the area was fixed. When she went back and scanned the system in our area it showed another problem. She said we should get phones back by 7 PM tonight. We have been out since Wednesday.

Well I have to get off here as dh needs his computer to do work for the office. He had to stay home with the kids today because I had to work so he is doing some work at home.

Hi all.

Just checking in really quick. Not much to say. Not in a good mood. It's been a bad day.

One thing, though, I changed my flight, and I'm now flying down on Monday, Nov. 28. I will be staying at Old Key West the first night, then five nights at the Boardwalk, and the final night at the Port Orleans French Quarter).

I had an unusual day at work today. All of the 'puters went down. Our office had some sort of issue yesterday, I blamed it on some gremlins working around here. Well today I again said that the only thing that I could figure to be different. Turns out our "specialists" working on the heating system plugged their power tools into the surge protector of the server. They didn't do it just once, they went back and did it again this afternoon.
I wish I made as much money as they. I could do at least as good. Yup!

I recall plugging a vacuum cleaner into a UPS. Once. Blew the fuse in about 2 seconds. It never dawned on me just how much power a vacuum draws. Duh. I suppose the difference is that I learned something valuable from the experience.

Had to go search for the Mammoth Cave and First Day of School pics. Very nice. I really think that someone should setup a DISmeet at Mammoth Cave someday. I love that place.

I was out of town for our first day of school this year (business trip to St. Louis), so Sue took the photos. It's James' last one as he is now a senior. They grow up so quickly.

Just got up from a nap. Dh was supposed to be using his computer but he got hooked up in watching the news about the storm. He is going out to get pizza for us for din din. Yummmmm Im starving. He is also going to try and top off one of our vehicles which should be interesting beacause they have been reporting about the gas lines.

I swear if we dont get phone/ DSL service soon I am going to ask for a credit on my bill. My DSL is expensive and that has been out for three days already. Phones I can kinda do without because I have a cell phone. We have just been really lucky that dh's cable modem has been as stable as it has since mine went down. His is normally off more than its on. Cant complain about that because its from his company and its free LOL!

Hi all... didn't do snit with my computer. funny it's been working okay so far... it knows I am mad It's really just a simple cable issue, but considering I am upstairs and the cable modem is downstairs and way at the back of my house, it takes a bit to get it right.

But I did two other things I absolutely dread doing... cleaning the tub and shopping for jeans So I got some done today. The tub looks good enough and I dropped one more size in my jeans. Never dreamt I would've made it to a 4 in jeans.
