Are all the yayas here and accounted for-everyone have their buddy? I can't believe about Snoopy!

I haven't been around in aeons-really, not even to lurk! :listen: - and so this is a shock. I hope all our ladies are still around(although let's face it the ones I'm REALLY worried about are Pam, maybe Beth...AND maybe Deena...) all the rest of y'all are pretty angelic...wel, you know out in DIS"public" ;)

How is everyone? DH and I are taking a trip to France -leaving tomorrow! When I return I'll start work at a new office-doing more residential projects. And that's about all that's new with me. :earboy2:

No really, now, all you Yahoos have been behaving? Next thing you know they'll have banned SHEP or something...I'm confused.

Toodles ladies! :wave2:

Oh and I've hit 5,000 posts! It's only taken me 3.5 years.:)

Don't say you weren't warned:

I have a class of yahoos that is really making me rethink my career choice. So before I do that I figure I need to nip the behaviors in the bud. To do this I have been calling parents when the kids give me trouble. Most of the people I call either have disconnected numbers or the numbers are bad.

So I just finished with this class and one kid was really giving me grief. Not something I could really write him up for so I told him at the end of class when he asked for candy, that his name was top on my list of parents to call this afternoon. He looked panicked and began to apologize for his behavior.

So I pick up my cell phone, dial the number, and I get dad on the phone.
So I explain the issues, inattention in class and some defiance which I'm sure is because he has reading issues, however, he is not going to get very much out of the class if he doesn't start paying attention and lose the attitude. I explain this very nicely and with lots of positives (he's a nice kid, he can read if he wants to, yada yada yada). I always phrase it so the parents don't think I'm attacking their kid and so the parents will be willing partners with me to get the kids to do what I want.

What I really wanted to say to this parent was : Your kid is a pita, he talks incessantly, disrupts other students, cops serious attitude when I tell him to do something, and does the work half-assed. But nooooooooooo I tell them nicely.

The response I got from dad was, "Yup" and then he hung up. I was stunned with the "yup" so I said thank you and then he hung up. He could have had the courtesy to at least lie to me and tell me his going to speak to him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where's the smiley who is screaming and ripping their hair out!!!!!!!!!!!

okay, thank you for the forum to vent!!

back to the regularly scheduled yayaing!
tara

:wave2: Jeannie.
Have a great trip....guess that means we won't hear from you again in years  Bad Yaya!!
Congrats on the new job,

I asked about the diaper bag because Dave's cousin's son is the mastermind behind it.
I think Dave wishes that had been around when he had to carry one ;)

Glad you had fun, Paula. Christin is back working at Penney's again. She isn't happy, but it will do for now.....but I love the discounts. I hear it is candy bar time again too :teeth:
I will let you all know when the time comes to share the employee discount, if anyone is interested. They have it a couple times a year where she gets cards to hand out that entitle the holders to get her discount.

Have fun, Elaine.
I got mine done.....bank, cleaners, Wal-Mart, Craft Mart, Jo Anns and photo store.

Babycakes!!
:love2: Seriously, do you still have my email? (I lost yours in one of my great computer crashes!) I think I will be going down soon.... :guilty: I've had about 20 posts go poof in the last couple of days. Someone does know how to get ahold of me, right??

Aw, Ti ara, I know this hug won't make it go away. I have not much else to give you though. I feel bad that parents are like this.

Hi Jeannie! How are ya? Have fun in France. I loved it when I made it to Paris.

Elaine! Wow! The fun just never stops at your place.
:rotfl:
Paula, so glad you found a way to de-stress a bti. Mmmmm

Nancy, Sorry for Christin. Candy bar time Mmmm

So off I go back to work...

Sorry about the uninvolved parents, Tara.

And hello Ya-Ya's :cool1:

Okay Lainey, I know I teased you about the air dropping, but now you've gone too far.

and see if I can find wax for a cutting board I have as well as some drugs. Fun afternoon, eh? ;)

A fun afternoon of combining drugs and chopping things with sharp objects?
(Isn't that Pam's job?)

No good can come of this....

Very quick EOIP.

Stayed at the hospital with mom and Kathi last night. She slept well, and is having much shorter periods of being alert. She's barely eating. She agreed to a DNR and Living Will, and signed those this morning. I signed all the rest of the papers from Hospice to have her discharged to a Hospice facility. Wilma is coming to visit, so now they won't do the transfer until Monday. I don't think it will be that long, but she's comfortable right now.

Thanks for the good thoughts. I've been selfish, I just want lots and lots of time with her. I'm headed back over to the hospital after the kids get to bed tonight.

Hugs to all.

Suzanne

yuck... have a headache now... just wish it would go away!

Paula, you sneated in on me earlier! I am glad you were able to get so much done today and mostly for yourself. Mall walking & shopping can do me a ton of good as well!

Jeannie :love2: You need to stop in here more often... we miss the likes of you! Enjoy your trip though and good luck with the new job :)

Tara, I am sorry about that one parent. I guess at least you know you can't count on htem for support. good luck though, and keep your pretty hairs in place... don't pull em out. Just do what my math teacher did... he had a blow up squeaking hammer. When he was annoyed (not really but hwen he pretended to be) he would bash that puppy. It was funny and worked for us!

Nancy, that is too cool about the bag!!! Truthfully I like the way it loosk more than some so I'd want it for myself :teeth:

Pammy  Sorry about everything... the place is rough now though. I am choosing to get what I wnat out of this place (my friends here) and ignoring the rest. But, you are in my address book (provided the business one still works... the same that is listed on the envelope you sent not too long ago). You wont' be lost or forgotten :love2:

Lily, trust me, my life is not as fun as it sounds on the screen. I just know how to liven it up some :p

A fun afternoon of combining drugs and chopping things with sharp objects?

Watch it Alan... I will be seeing you in just over a month now :p

Suzanne
Hang in there... but I am glad to hear that she is comfortable and everything seems in place. My prayers are with you all :(

tara, boo, Paula-- :wave2:

Liz-- :rolleyes1

Well y'all have a great weekend. I'm going to take off tomorrow for Mrs. AA (bless her little worried heart) to make sure I know where everything is and that I have a plan for the kids while she is gone.

We are still trying to find someone to keep the kids Saturday night for us to drive up to Atlanta.

Either way, wish us luck with Lela's birthday party and Mrs. AA's flight.

Pam...are you misbehavin' again? Sometimes it is hard to behave ::yes::
PM me an e-mail just to be sure ;)
Beanie sent me hers too :)

Oh, Suzanne :grouphug: I am glad she is comfortable.
Spend as much time as you can. I made if for Dad, but missed Mom and always regret that.

Good weekend, Alan. With all those plans.

Todd....so, do you have a TV show we don't know about?

Suzanne -- We went through this with DH's Dad 10 years ago. It is so very, very hard. :guilty:

Elaine - yep, that's the right email! :goodvibes

Alan - I'll have you know that I might be hopped up on about 6-8 Pepsi but that's all I've imbibed/ingested while chopping up "things" with sharp objects!

Hope your weekend plans work out!

Tiara - crazy how some parents either:
A) don't want to admit that their child has done wrong
or
B) Says, "Yeah, little Johnny a bad kid. But what can I do??"

Paula - Hope your meeting goes well at school tomorrow. Sounds like Chris definitely has migraines! :guilty: Ask the guidance counselor if your state has a cyber school program. I honestly think that he would thrive with this kind of schooling. :grouphug:

Are all the yayas here and accounted for-everyone have their buddy?
Good idea Jeannie. Everyone grab someone and hang on. :( Not sure what's "acceptable" anymore. :guilty: So many thoughts, opinions, etc. Ugh. I just keep backspacing and retyping. Eh, never mind.

Suzanne, sending you a hug and an extra prayer tonight.

Jeannie in France? I see London, I see France, I see.... ummm... never mind.

Tara, that dad is an idiot. I'm in the mood to round up all idiots today. Remember the cattle prod from years ago here in CB land? :p

Hey Pam? Thank you. :)

Paula, I'm glad to hear the counselor called. Keeping all of you in my thoughts these days!

Beth's boss needs her... hee! Love that! Seems someone needs to learn to run his own company, hmm... wonder who?

Dang. Cranky today aren't I? Sorry.

Elaine, I had the very same idea! Let's just cast on, cast on, cast on... then glue'em all together to make... uh... something. :teeth:

Pam, that's a wonderful idea!

Kim,
You're welcome! (What did I do??? :confused3 ) Was it because I wanted to rent you and dorkboy a room in kejoda and I's hotel?? :confused3

Was it because I wanted to rent you and dorkboy a room in kejoda and I's hotel??
Heck no, that would warrant more than a simple thank you!! Something more along the lines a big fat hairy hug! Er, I think. I suppose I should probably find out what kind of hotel this is first. In room jacuzzi? Room service? You're not working the kitchen are you?

JEANNIE!!! Have a wonderful trip!!

Todd has an admirer? :faint: :rotfl: What a strange thread.

Suzanne,

I am sooo tired. Was going to go to bed early and now my neighbor wants to come over and do a resume at 8:00. :rolleyes1 Hopefully it won't take her long.
