Hi y'all! Kind of tired as I haven't been sleeping all that great lately. Debating on either doing yard work now or taking a nap before heading back to church tonight.

Suzanne, sounds like a nice night no matter what. I know when it has come to wines, my taste has changed. Auslese are usually good, but can be sweet. Actually for me now, it isn't the sweetness I go for, but smoothness or one that isn't very dry. Luis and I totally differ on our thoughts though... and considering I am rarely a drinker now I suppose it doesn't matter :p
Sorry you didn't make it to WDW though... hpe you go soon!

Nancy, evil woman! Luis has showed me my pile of YC and told me I am not to get anymore  I guess I can't blame him though ;)

Tara, that is a crappy morning. Hope the car dries out soon and I do hope your day got a heck of a lot better!!!!!

Karen, good finds there! Sorry about the people not showing... could some have gone through it before though and not wanting to do it agian, or not care for the style? (I didn't totally)

Paula, I'll look at your post and see what I think... though I've not been one to hunt & find jobs much. I might get to it tomorrow since my brain does feel halfway like mush.

Of course did our usual church & lunch thing with our friends. One set of friends totally complimented us by saying they figured we would be good parents. May or may not sit for her 2 year old on Friday. Not doing it for income... I just think Colin's a sweetie :teeth:

Well, as I've typed I've gotten all my jewelry off like I am going to do yard work, so I had better hop to it before I run out of time to try to do it and then shower before going back.

See y'all later!

I'm back home. Happened to call Jill when Kevin and I were heading out, so the three of us made the trip.

I'm now ready to begin my scrapping (sorta) adventure. I got some vellum and some Disney themed papers at JoAnn's. They were on sale 4 for a dollar, so it was reasonable. The sucker that I am, I bought yet another calligraphy marker to use on the vellum, since I'm hearing that printing on it can sometimes be a pain.

Paula, on the job front, I'm kinda where you are in some respects. I need to take a 'leap of faith' and go for the type of job I want, instead of sticking to this. Fortunately, I love what I do-I just see a time where I can't do it anymore due to health. My suggestion would be to spend a little money to go to a career counselor-and read "what color is my parachute?".

Lainey, we did a wine flight in Germany at Epcot several years ago and we both loved them. That expanded us from our usual white zinfandels. Then the neighbors Karen and Pat took great pleasure in finding wines for us that we'd like. We were ready for the wine tasting that we enjoyed at the Home Show, and now that we're drinking this company's wines, it's expanded our appreciation.

Karen, I'd always heard that topiaries were very finicky to maintain. Or was it the heat?

Getting hungry here. Ed put his yummy pot roast in the crock pot, but it's a much bigger roast this time, so he doesn't think it's ready and should be tomorrow's dinner! I want some now, lol.

I posted ham?! Where? When!? Dang, I don't remember. Now I'm posting him and I don't even remember. How can I enjoy it if I don't even know I'm doing it. Shoot. That really sorta sucks. :(

So life returns to normal just a wee bit in our house. Small schooling catastrophe behind us, a few weeks of public school (Ack! Mistake. Back to homeschooling now) and 16 inlaws fed and housed for three and a half days last week. They're all back home now and my house is... ah... quiet again. The last month or so has been a tad stressful. I am now the proud owner of a few grey hairs and by gosh I earned'em!!

Cleo is on the mend!! I am so happy to hear that Elaine. Hugs to you both!

Hello and welcome back to Stacey! Tinkerbear is adorable!

Suzanne, because I'm so guilty of skimming the last few months, I may have no idea what I'm talking about... *very likely* but... are you new to scrapping? Well if you're new to it, yay and welcome to a wonderful hobby. If just stocking up... yay, cool! :) Vellum is fun. I use it for most of my journaling. :)

Paula, I do hope school is going well for Chris. We're going on year three of homeschooling Cam. We tried public this year...for like... a minute. LOL! Stress level went through the roof. Poor kid. :(

Sherry... how is the dryer?

Any Sim'ers here? Wondering about the latest expansion pack. Sigh. I think I might have to have it.

A Happy Birthday to Pam's DD! :flower:

Lily went on a cruise?

Ugh... sorry about the wet car Tara. Been there, done that.

What a sweet compliment you received from your friends Elaine! See! I told ya. ;)

So anyway, Hi to all ya'll. Hope everyone is healthy and happy.

Yep, I've been dragged in. I used to scrap eons ago, back in high school. This of course, was the dinosaur age where we had to hand cut construction paper. My exciting part of it was when I had paint pens and crayola came out with multi tipped calligraphy markers.

I am a seriously frustrated artist. I have a very artistic eye, just can't translate it to paper...Ed is now seeing in the home decorating that side of me, lol. This is where the scrapping is VERY dangerous and why I've resisted it. I'm only jumping in now because I want to make the store bathroom into a 'motivational' room-with all sorts of things to inspire the team. Die cuts would have made this a lot easier-I'd just post things on the shapes, but now it'll be a little more elaborate. It's probably a good thing-my mistakes will be on work stuff, not a scrapbook for me!

Trouble brews-Kevin was with me, and found some NYC stickers and pages. I told him we'd print the pictures they took in Manhattan and he could decorate them as he wished. He picked a chocolate chip page, a strawberry page, a cherry page and a gold star prism page...no, he doesn't like food!

Hey all :)

Wanted to stop in and say hi ^_^

I really need to do some cleaning today but I keep finding ways to put it off =p after this I think I need make dinner and finally get to the cleaning :P

I have still been REALLY busy at work... things are going well just busy... at least the days have been passing quickly (although it seems like some days too quickly really >_<). Looks like we have a good chance of getting a BIG new contract which is great... just means a ton more work :P will have to hire a few more people if we do get... which would be a pretty big change. Don't think they are sending me to Disney for that convention >_< not suprised but it would have been nice :P I soooo want to go down there at Halloween time... maybe next year =) They will probably send me to some classes though... they are around here.

Today I found a new store... a VERY dangerous store :P Near my parents there used to be an animation art gallery that I used to go to often and bought stuff from... I got to know the owner pretty well but she ended up selling the gallery... I stopped going there shortly after she sold it. Well today I was out and about and found a new animation art gallery near here... and the owner actually knows the old owner of the place near my parents pretty well. It has been a few years since I have bought any animation art (ran out of wall room :P) and needless to say there are a few things I really want to get now >_< The owner I met today does a lot with vintage, original Disney art and she said she should be able to find me some original production drawings of Peter Pan... so... I think I know what part of my year end bonus at work is going towards :P They also have WDCC and Olszewski stuff... both of which I have some of and buy occasionally... not many places around here have that so I am normally limited to temptation to buy that stuff when I am at Disney... like I said... dangerous place :P

Anyway... should go make dinner and stop putting off cleaning >_< sorry I haven't been around... I really want to start checking in more often... probably just have to do it from home since I have no time at work >_< :grouphug: to everyone :)

Hey All,

Well I am as guilty as the rest of the people who didnt or dont go to the classes. Dh and I did not go. After planting and stuff both dh and I were sick from the heat. It was NASTY hot out there. We both felt it better to stay home though I do feel guilty.

Elaine this is the first time any of us are going through this book so no one has been through it before. They just choose not to come....or at least the ones I talked to today.

Suzanne I found that the topiaries were both hard to maintain and the heat got to them very badly. I couldnt seem to water them enough for them not to croak on me. I think they need shade and our front porch gets the sun all day long. Didnt do my homework before I bought them. I just thought they were beautiful. I now have bushy red multi-petal daisy looking plants in the pots and they actually look pretty nice because they almost match the door and the trim color which is a rust red.

Suzanne it sounds like you had a wonderful night last night. Good for you!!! You deserve it. Im sorry your plans for WDW didnt work out. You did the right thing though. Sounds like you are going to have tons of fun scrapping. Im the way you are. I have a very artistic mind but I cant put it down on paper.

Elaine Im sorry you havent been sleeping well. I bet thing illness with Cleo has you so upset its hard to sleep. I wil say a prayer that you get some good and restful sleep tonight.

Paula I second what Suzanne said about a job counselor and the book What Color is My Parachute.

Uh oh Jon an animation gallery. I would be tempted too. I love Disney Animation Art. I have to stay out of the Art of Disney just for that reason LOL!!

Kimmie I can sympathize with school stress. Between both my boys they have had this house in an uproar since they started back to school with the homework and getting it done. As we speak my eldest is whining because he waited until the last minute on something. Im glad things are getting back to normal for you with the inlaws going home. Hopefully most all your stress will go away now.

Tara Im glad the dance went over so well. How neat that meeting was! I have done the same thing with the car.

Well I think Im gonna go out and sit on the porch for awhile and destress because my eldest is about to make my blood pressure go through the roof with the whining and complaining. If he worked as hard at what he is doing as he does at whining he would be done!!

I will check back in laters.

HUGS TO ALL!!!! :grouphug:

There is so much I'd love to say... but I am too much of a lady to do it :p

Suzanne, my appreciation for whine expanded thanks to a couple of friends of ours. Actually one of the best things we did was a wine tasting for their wedding :teeth: And of course it helped them pick what most would like served. Sadly though, even one glass with tons of water after causes terrible muscle cramps, so I don't get to drink near as much wine as I used to.

Btw, Kimmie, glad you survived the whole hectic past month... guess now you should cover those gray!!! But, your turn and hush it, twit!
There I think I'm done :)

Jon always a pleasure to see you again! What a wonderful place that sounds though! I wish Luis would "let me" get that much... though I am pushing for a French Horn... so I better not push too much for other things at the moment :p Have fun looknig at all the art!

Karen, sorry you missed the class, but I don't blame you. I guess I also don't blame the ones who don't want to go for other reasons. Like I said it was an okay book, but I didn't really get into it too much. Couldn't quite put my finger on it, but he sure didn't "move me" like I thought it should.

Well I should get dressed again. Have to head back to church at about 8:30 or so. I hope y'all have a good evening!

Snerk snerk. :p

But, your turn and hush it, twit!
I know I know. But hey! I emailed you a wonderfully yummy little goodie. I figured that bought me an extra day. :teeth:

Suzanne, excellent way to become familiar again with the scrapping world! Good luck and will we get to see some pictures?

Hi Jon!

Karen, homework and the complaining that goes along with it. Ugh. I hear ya. When do they figure out if they'd just DOOOO it, it would be... DONE! Hey! Amazing how that works eh? Oh but in truth, who am I to talk. Procastination is one of my finer skills.

Kimmie so true so very true. He is done now and in bed thankfully. Had all weekend to do it and we did remind him but noooooooooo he has to wait until Sunday and then make his dad and I nuts.

Dh had me hysterical a few minutes ago. He shook his head and said.....I wish I had a camera on the porch for when you go out there in the middle of the night, spot the three foot white guy in our front yard. and scream.....He's talking about the statue which faces the house. He cracks me up sometimes because he knows me so well ROFL!!!!

It really does look pretty out there though. Everything came out looking so nice. All I need to finish it is to put in the suncatcher picks and we need a set of windchimes for inbetween the two hanging plants. We have a gift certificate for the Christian Bookstore and they have some really nice windchimes.

I think Im gonna hit the hay. Im tired.

HUGS TO ALL!!! :grouphug:

It did...

and you sent that yesterday... so...

still waiting :p

Back from round two of church. Next week (if Eric does buy pizza... and even then maybe I'll do it), I might wind up doing 3. I do like the people at the 10 am mass, but there are some at the 9 PM that I love as well... and it's a smaller group that is what I really love! So who knows, I may be doing double every week

Karen, so glad that your yard turned out so nice!! Wanna do mine next? ;)

Luis is just throwing in a load of laundry... not sure why he waited so long. But going to red and sleep sometime soon :)

Morning, all.

Ed let me sleep in, when I had stuff to do...oh well. Too late to do some of them.

Suzanne

Hey gang,
ugh!! Its monday!!
Things are better today. The car is mostly dry, but I need to get some clay tings to put in to soak out any moisture that is still there.

We ended up going to Wally World last night and I never did get out and do the tree limb sitting in my back yard. I guess that is next weekends venture (oh wait, I'm going to Richmond for the State Fair. Oh darn guess it will have to wait another a week...then I'm going to NOVA. Drats! :rotfl: )

I don't do wine but I do do whine :teeth:
Badger Balm sounds like something you put on you to attract a badger!!

Okay, I gotta get some work done. I have a training all day tomorrow and I need to get my sub plans in order. I have bowling tonight! HOpe I wake up before then!! hehehehe

hugs,
tara

Just giving a howdy! I'm sorry to hear about the limb hanging, no car saet, unintended car pool, didn't get to go out for breakfast Blues, Tiara.

I took our mini-van (I'm so cool :smooth: ) through a car wash Saturday night (yes, part of Mrs. AA's and my date night included washing and vaccuuming the van).

We had to take a friend's boys with us to a birthday party Saturday afternoon and I knew they would enjoy the short cut dirt road experience :teeth:

Tara, just bring towels for a while ;) And pity you'll have to hold up on doing the tree branch :p

I need some help y'all. I am offering to sit for a friend of mine on Weds morning. If we had kids, we'd swap times with her. We don't ;) So she asked my going rate... help??? I haven't sat for friends for money in years (like 10 or so)

Alan, you summed up my weekend well!! Thank you!! :teeth:

Elanie...I pay my girl $4 / hour. When I ask her what she charges (we've doing this little dance for 4 years now) she always says "what ever you want". tell them you want a nice juicy steak dinner with the works!! :teeth: !!!

Okay, back to work I go. No more sneaking off to the dis!!

What a great guy you are! I mean we all know what you can do in a car while it's being washed... terribly romantic ;)

Tara, I used to get paid $5/hour way back in the day. I was honestly going to offer to do it for free, but she mentioned it and I went "huh"?

Didn't sleep well at all last night. :rolleyes1 Hopefully tonight will be better.

Elaine, I'm usually a sucker and do the sitting for way less than I should. I think $5/hr. sounds good, though. :)
