Sherry, how many days left? ;)

I think I'll say the $5/hr, but say at first I'd have been happy to do it for free as a friend.

Luis told me I am not allowed to be paid in cheese cakes though... not yet at least :p

and one last thing

aye avast... did ye know it was "Talk like a pirate day" ye land lubbers!

:faint:

I was just going to bump us up and had that staring at me :teeth:

I think you need to post some of those photos you were talking about, Elaine.
It's getting too quiet in here.

How is Cleo today?

Nancy, I admit, I got highly side tracked this weekend. All things I meant to do with any pics, I didn't get to
And I am kind of trying to pull myself out of this, but I guess I was a lot more upset than I wanted to admit... so once I get back into a groove, I'll be posting :teeth:

Cleo is doing fine today. We decided to pull back on the soft food as it's not as easy on her with long fur ;) I also found out she ate plastic... seh does that when she wants attention. In short, she's being a brat! I called the vet and we chatted. This is all a good sign. We'll take her back in a couple weeks and in the mean time we'll jsut keep on giving her meds. She'll be on them for a couple of months :faint:

Another whirlwind weekend here--I lead such an exciting life  I get a day off to spend with my sweetie and we spend it grocery shopping, doing laundry and getting a head start on cooking for the week. Our "date night" was almost as exciting as Alan's! I think the car wash would have been more fun, actually. Managed to get in and get my hairs colored, though, and Dave got to watch football. So a good time was had by all!! LOL!!

Welcome home, Lily!!! Want to see pix and hear all about the fun you had! I can't believe people are selling their "freebies" on eBay the minute they get home--ungrateful wretches! Bet your pups were glad to see you home, too!

Tiara, I got your check and we are all signed up for the crop on Sat., Oct. 1st. Jon was at the store at the time, so we got him and his mom signed up too. I am going to post on the scrap board and remind the local folks to get registered. Found out that we will not be able to do everything Disney as I had planned--one of our vendors is sponsoring that crop and has already provided stuff for the goodie bags. So, it will be a Lasting Impressions crop and you'll get some neat dry embossing stuff. I still plan to "dress up" our tables though, since we will be there all day!! Sorry your weekend ended up so crummy. Good news, though! IHOP right down the street if you want, when you are here!

Elaine, I'm so glad to hear your kitty is improving and the liver problem has been definitely ruled out!! Nice to know that you enjoy a nice whine now and then, too!! :rotfl:

my appreciation for whine expanded thanks to a couple of friends of ours.
I must admit, I do too :teeth: Question--when you do multiple services on Sunday, are you stuck with the same sermon, same music, etc. every time? That's the part I have the most trouble with and ya just CAN'T be fallin' asleep in the choir loft!

Suzanne, I got all ready to send those die-cuts, etc. to you and couldn't find your address! Can you please PM it to me? So sorry you didn't get to visit the world this weekend. Have you read the thread about kids/parents/meltdowns at the World? LOL!!! Now aren't you glad you stayed home??!!! some of them are really slinging mud over there!

Hey, Kimmie!! Long time, no see!! Glad you made it thru the invasion of the inlaws in reasonable good shape. Hope you can enjoy a little down time, now! Can't believe you posted ham and not only did it NOT bring our little Jeannie out of hiding, but you don't even remember?! Sheesh!!!  for your young man--so sorry his foray out into the big bad world of public education was such a bust.

Sleepyhead here.....just caught myself staring at the monitor in a total fog. Better go find some caffeine to get me thru the rest of the day.

Arrrghh, indeed I did know it be that day. Now fetch me some grog ye buxomy wench.

Okay, so I did a typo... mabye it was a Freudian slip ;) (could be knowing the people)

As for the service? The readings that are discussed are the same, but there were two different priests doing the mass, so I got a different spin on it at the evening. Truthfully liked the 2nd time around better. Same music though, but that never bugs me.

Alan, who's the cabana boy here and who's the one in charge? But I'll take it as a compliment, at least the buxomy part :p

Hi all....

Busy day here - didn't know we were doing Pirate =speak today...aaaargh!!

Went to the Chiropractor this morning - he says I'm doing OK but not to push things and try to keep my work week at @35 hrs.
Took Chris for his annual check-up - he grew 1/2" - he's not 6ft 3/4" and gained 10 lbs which to me is good because at his annual 2 yrs ago he was underweight. Bad part of the check up was that his regular doctor was backed up so they had one ofthe new associates see Chris - Chris talked to him a little bit about not sleeping - he gave him 2 scrips - 1 for Valium and another for Trazadone(?) - I also told him of Chris history of anxiety and that Chris started having chest pains again - doctor said sounds like reflux - presonally I doubt it but I will try Zanax or whaver next time it happens. Chris was his usual quiet self - on the way home I told him maybe the meds to help him sleep will lessen the anxiety but if they don't I'm not letting it go this time - I'm only hurting him more by doing so. Oh yeah - I also took him to McD's for lunch and let him drive home. He's sleeping now.....

I'm still happy that I have a plan for myself - I want to dwell only on the positive an look forward.

Elaine - so glad that Miss Cleo is coming around.
Beth - sounds like quite a weekend!!
Tara - happy bowling....
Jon - good to hear from you - my son is taking a computer animation class this year - his teacher has won some awards and was ablt to get them the same software that Pixar uses.

I don't feel like working tonite - but I will....8 days to go......

Paula, sounds like a mix of emotions from the doctor. Hopefully some (all) the meds will help him out!! And who knows, could be reflux... a friend of mine sadly mistakened reflux for heart issues  (yeah I can be optimistic sometimes ;)) And take it easy on the back... though I am glad to hear that you have a good excuse not to work too hard!
Speakign of which, I did read your post... I think you ought to just try for anything and everything you think you'd like. YOu have great experience so you wouldn't likely be stuck doing low level work. I wish I had more advice, but I'm sure the right thing will come along.

Okay not just incriminating someone else... but me as well ;)

I have to admit, I am almost not willing to even bother anymore....

makes me wonder what went wrong here :sad1:

Closing down early tonight....nothing going on, so going to check out some of the season's new shows.
:wave2:

Hey i wann a be the buxomy wench!!!

Elaine that picture is scary!! hehehehe Enough to scare anyone away.

I'm sorry I'm not here to chat. Just in from bowling. I have a pms migraine so I'm taking drugs and calling it a night. Oh and I won't be able to do any bump and runs tomorrow since i'm going to be in a training all day and the computers we use are not hooked up to the internet!!

So please do not take that as being neglectful or tired of this. Trust me I would prefer to be yayaing!!

Hugs to all!!
tara

Evening all! Home from bell choir and feeling just a bit frustrated. We're s'posed to ring for the services on Oct. 2nd and of the 2 pieces she wants us to do, one is beginning to come together and the other is just awful. Our new director is very good, but I don't think she realizes that we really CAN be better, we just need more practice. I don't think 2 more rehearsals is going to be enough. But, we'll see.

Hey, Paula! Chiro says you're just doin' OK, huh? Bet you're trying to do too much, right? Moms seem to have a tendency to do that, I know. Gentle hugs for ya, girlfriend! Glad to hear Chris has gained weight and is more of a "normal" weight for his height. Hope the new meds help, but I tend to agree with you on the chest pains. And I think you're absolutely right to pursue it if the anxiety doesn't let up! Hopefully, next time you have to take him, his regular doc who is more familiar with his history will be able to see and talk to him. He's so lucky to have a mom like you willing to go to bat for him and get him the help he needs. So what toy did you get at Mickey D's??!! :teeth:

Laine, I still LOVE that shot of you and Tara with the hats! I think we should all get together at one of the hat stores and do a group shot in November!! Maybe we should do a "hat meet" and the craziest hat wins? Although what the prize would be is still another question.....Hafta think on that one! Oh, and that's cool that you get to hear 2 different takes on the same scripture when you go to multiple services on Sunday. We only have the one pastor, so we get the same basic sermon at all 3 services. But when you have different people, you can get so much more out of it, I think. They each get to give their own interpretation and find different parts to emphasize.

Nancy!! Sorry I missed you, yet again. Anything good on TV? Whew, wasn't that a heart-thumper of a pic Lainey posted for ya? I wasn't all that impressed with Capt. Jack in the movie, but that pic is a doozy!! He looks fabu there!! So, have you been following any of that thread about the homemade Disney shirts? Wow, there are some supremely talented people making iron-on transfers out there!! I feel so inadequate with my feeble attempts, now. I think I'm going to make use of some of the designs a couple of them have made available to the public. Some REALLY nice ones showing the WDW castle all dressed up the the Happiest Celebration.

Going to fold some laundry and then go find my pillow. Woke up at 4:52AM this morning and didn't really get back to sleep, so I'm pretty pooped. Oh, if if ya'll could spare some prayers for one of the young ladies in my church choir? Her office is sending her on a business trip--to Key Largo!!! I can't believe they haven't cancelled the trip in light of the evacuation going on down in the Keys right now!!! I'm sure she doesn't dare refuse to go for fear of losing her job, too.

Nighty, night! :grouphug:

still waiting
Gasp pant gasp! I'm getting closer! Tonight! I promise! :p

Crazy day today. Cam has art class on Mondays. After class we shopped for futons and carpet. His room needs a makeover. Ever try to find the PERFECT beige carpet with a picky kid that's slightly color blind? Dang! Who knew there were so many beiges out there. Pinky beige, greenie beige, yellow beige, then there's your classic, beigey beige. Or... as the swatches say... Summer blonde, vanilla cream, brushed suede. Then of course he might go with a dark brown which involves covering your floor in something called Cocoa Bean or Espresso. Personally I'd go with a combination Cocoa Bean/Espresso. Too yummy to pass up.

I have to admit, I am almost not willing to even bother anymore....
With what? Uh oh. I think I skimmed where I shouldn't have. :(

Pirate hunks! Wahoo! More!!

Elaine is going to post pictures? You mean more pirate like pictures or more funny hat pictures? :p Is that Tiara? The other funny face, I know. ;)

Hey Beth! Yeah I must be getting old. I can't remember my ham fe(a)st. ...and yes... no Jeannie. I miss her. :sad1:

The cropping meet ya'll are planning sounds wonderful!! Hoping for happy times and lots of beautiful creations for everyone. ...and pictures of the event to share?! :teeth:

Hi Paula. I do hope the scrips help Chris rest.

Hi Nancy. What'cha planning to watch? I'm curious about "Surface". I may have to check that one out.

Ah! Tara and Beth sneated while the Dis was deciding whether or not to let my post go through... (took forever!!) and now I see that that is indeed Tiara in the hat picture. :)

Oh my. Prayers for the young lady in your choir Beth! Poor thing.

Ooo, Tara sneated in before me and Kimmie right after!!

Migrane banishing
pixie.gif
for ya, Tiara! How did you do at bowling tonight? I'm sure all the bowling noise didn't do your head any good. Hope it just evaporates for ya and you're feeling much, much better tomorrow. Can't wait to see you again!!!

Kimmie, I think we are going to hafto get you to research a place for us to get together out there in your direction. We need a meet at your end of the country so you and Nancy can come! An' we can try to find Tina to come meet with us too. Maybe some of the other missing Ya Yas will come out of hiding, too. Hint-hint, you know who you are!!! Oh, and your frustration with the carpet colors has me giggling! I was just thinking the same thing at the store yesterday over the number of "shades" of black paper we have!! "Beetle" Black, "Licorice", "Dark" Black (like, there's a LIGHT Black??!!), etc! Definitely go for the Coffee Bean/Espresso combination--need sweetener with that??

I'm going to bed, now. Really! Honest! Sleep tight and sweet Disney dreams to all!

Hey Ya Yas!

Love the pics Arrrrgh! Nice candy.

Thanks all who have gone before me...nice ketchup so I won't.

All about me now. No pics to share of our trip. It was decided to not take any. I can't believe that I did it and it was quite a difficult thing for me to do. I feel like I had part of me missing. Anyway, pics are in our minds.

Picture this: lots of people having a common bond having lots of fun enjoying life. I was there!

Busy life right now here. I've got my 'puter back but now have to deal with an empty one. Sigh, I have nothing left in that hard drive I did not save. I am mourning. It seems kind of silly of me, but I can't help it just now.

Was a wonderful day yesterday. Ted reunited with friends he grew up with at a picnic we attended. It was great. One of the "Moms" who is 91 asked him if he still played piano. She said she plays every day at least some. Well, I squealed on DH and said he does not play hardly at all. Resulted in him promising to stop by her house and play her piano for her "sometime." I will make sure it is soon as her time may be limited, so his promise must be kept soon. I love that he told her that he would. When we got home it was later than I would have figured.

A quick late night hello - I tried to read and post while witrking but I think I am just connected to too many things and it kept booting me out (either that or the wrk gods were not happy that i was sneaking a DIS - lol)

Elaine - loved - loved the hat photo - too bad I don't have a scanner I have an equally attractive one of me on one of those silly red Minnie hats with the flower coming out of it....

Nancy  (thanks for my calendar name my friendly exchange enabler!!)

Tara - a gentle :wizard: for the migranes - good luck with training tomorrow

Kimmie - who knew beige would be so involved!! Actually alyssa chose chocolate brown and pastel pink for her dorm room - I was pleasantly surprise to see how well it looked. (thanks for the reminder - I still have Chris room to deal with - have curtains - that's about it).

Beth - no toy at Mcd's- should have gotten that - about 20 minute after eating those blasted chicked selects I was hitting the rolaids (or maybe that was just from Chris' driving.....)

OK - I have a confession - I sneaked aaway from my desk tonite to catch glimpses of the season premire of "7th Heaven" - can't help it!!

I will leave you with a quote from my husband tonite - coming up the cellar stairs he had been down there doing fly-tying.....
"Does it smell gluey up here? I dropped my glue"
I laughed so hard....

Goodnight friends....

Evening, all. Got home a bit ago, trying to catch up on stuff.

Internet connection has dumped on my a few times...took me an hour to get through the three pages posted since I left off this morning.

Aggravated with work...why don't people realize that you don't earn respect by trashing others to the rest of the team? Arggghhhh. Feeling unappreciated, and if that continues, I walk.

I got a nice surprise in the mail-a Disney VoluntEARS topper, woohoo. I'd sent a CD to Kimya that I'd bought from disney deals, and in turn, she sent me a topper that fetches a pretty penny on ebay! :)

Neil had a horrible day at school, and I'm at the end of my rope as far as how to get that child to sleep. Tried that Badger Balm-he watched all of the Piglet movie before we got up this morning. Then got in trouble in Language arts, kicked a kid in the groin at lunch and had a bad day all around.

I sent an email to his teachers at 7:15 this morning to give them a heads up, and his general classroom teacher sends me a note "I really wish I was notified sooner that Neil would have this kind of day." Okay, should I call her at home? I sent a reply back to her that if she looked at WHEN I sent it, she'd see it was at 7:15, did she have any suggestions on how I could ensure she gets the information in a timely manner? I know better than to try calling the school in the morning, it's chaotic in that office and I don't want to add to it.

So, anyone got any ideas on how to get the child to sleep?

Suzanne
