It takes less than a half hour to get to page 2???? :faint:

Amanda, I will admit I have *never* done my own taxes before in my life. My dad did them for me when I lived at home & was in college and Luis has done them ever since we were married. Given my total inability to deal with numbers, it's probably wise he does them ;)

Oh btw, did you ever find the spoons you wanted?

Woohoo! WTG for Jared!! :Pinkbounc

OMG!! :earseek: Yikes! A chocolate fountain??!?!? Boy, I sure picked the wrong Lenten season to give up CHOCOLATE :badpc: !! :mickeybar

Lil--thanks..weight is all in the spare tire area.. ....

Kimmar--gotta love Pam... :wizard:

Elaine--I did my taxes on the 1040ez form(long time ago).. :rolleyes1

Someone just shoot me. I am so tired this morning I could cry. Not gonna be a fun day. At least we have nothing to do tonight so I can go home and sleep after dinner.

I have never done my taxes myself either. I always have H & R Block do them. Im too afraid of making a mistake plus they get you every deduction possible. Problem with that is its getting more and more expensive every year to do it that way.

We did get our tax refund put into our bank account today though WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! Now I can pay the registration for summer camp for the boys. We were sweating it because they are filling up quickly.

HUGS and love to everyone. I gotta get back to work.

Hi Ya Yas!
Finishing up since work so rudely interrupted me.
Sherry, morning! TGIF for sure!
Tara, I've been meaning to say I so love your siggie pics.
Karen, :wizard: Bang! Shooting PD to ya! Sleep well this evening.
RM, ooooh a chocolate fountain. Oh that reminds me. Has anyone tasted the new chocolate drink at Starbucks? Ooooh my how sinful that is. Sorry about the doc stuff. I get to go next month.
Kimmie, since it is the season of giving too I will step in here and give you a break as I scoop up all the chocolate thereby saving you from all the bad stuff.

Sorry... :confused3

Good morning.

RM...glad you got that doctor thing over with. I hate it too....and my time is coming soon.
No menopause thing to deal with ...guess that is one good thing ;)

I looked at Chocolate fountains for the wedding :teeth: I really wanted one....but too $$$

Did our taxes for years....then got 2 businesses and an inheritence and handed it over to an accountant. They started charging way too much, so last year we started going the Turbo Tax way.

Christin is coming over today to do laundry and pick up the portable DVD player. She has the security shift at the Science Center tonight and needs to stay awake.

Karen...hope that sleep study leads to finding some way for you to get some good sleep.

Suzanne....cute office stuff there.

Cold here too....and dry! My nose hurts :(

Kimmar, how is your MIL doing?

:wave2: everyone. I need to run some errands. See ya later.

Kimmar, that's why I never give up chocolate ;)

Todd, we file jointly and I swear if I did it, the tax boys would be after me :p I know we have all our info we need from the house and work, but no one has sat down with it yet. We got the last bit from work right before we left though, so we didn't even have time to look.

Doing the tax form for us isn't all that bad... I actually look over it and understand it, but given my history with writing numbers, I just do not trust my eyes to do the numbers and math right.

Awww... sorry Lily, I am sure it will go away soon though.

Nancy, I hope your nose stops hurting soon. Good luck to Christin tonight at work. Hope she can manage to stay awake :)

Good Morning All

A Chocolate Fountain :cool1:
Can we get one?? Can we?? Can we?? Pleaseeeeeeee??

Well it is extremely windy here today. It started last night but today seems worse. Our wicker furniture on the porch has all blown over. I figured I will leave them that way until the winds die down. No sense in fixing them if they are going to just blow over again.

Went to breakfast yesterday with my hubby and then went to dinner at the Atlanta Bread Company for Wis. Cheese Soup (yummmm) And we even split a brownie :faint:

Ds and I both went to get our hair cut yesterday. I figured what the heck since he's in the chair I may has well have mine done too. We were done at almost the same time so it worked out nicely. :cheer2:

Oh... and THEN.. :guilty: we came out and I had a flat tire. Or at least a going flat tire. sooooo off to the closest Gas Station, paid 50 cents to use their air machine, pumped as much as I could, then drove over to the place that normally works on my car. They had the car up, plugged and out the door in 10 minutes. Only cost $8. They even gave me what gave me my flat, it was a blade from a tool used in cutting vynal siding... So when I got home I polightly "spoke" with the workers next door. The neighbor is having her house sided and we were even nice to let them use our property for their equipment when we had all the snow. You see our house originally had an outhouse so the main bathroom was added in later. Ok well it looks like a room on stilts connected to the house..Anyway it hangs over the driveway so come rain or snow it's dry under there.. That is where their equipment was. The were very nice and offered to pay me back. I said don't worry about it, just please be more careful and pick up all your tools when you are finished each day so it doesn't happen again.

Taxes: Yuk!! DH has an accountant to do ours. I just give him all my forms to add to the collection of IRAs, Savings Acct., College Stuff, Work, Etc.. Before I was married I use to do my own. It was pretty easy... :wizard:

Nancy: have fun with those errands. wanna do mine while you're out? :teeth:

Lily: sorry about the weight, I knew someone would find it, I am glad I didn't leave a return address on it.. :rotfl:

Ya Yas who have lost their weight look no further. I have found it!

I don't think that you found ALL of it. I gained a dozen pounds last year around June (when I first got off my crutches). Did anyone here lose about a dozen pounds that month??? You can have it back.

I'm going back into lurker mode now.

thanks for the hugs!!

I've made an appt. to see Jar's dr. and see if she can help me.

Also, ordered more drugs for myself....maybe that will help.

have a great day and weekend if I dont' get back before monday!
tara

Can I just say that I totally HATE my bank right now?

Did our taxes today. We usually go to H&R Block but this time we went with a guy that lives near us that DH knows. Much cheaper.

Lily, I also found a bunch of those pounds. My diet starts on Monday. :rolleyes1

Um..... I was kind of hoping 28 might be a good year for it... still too young? Oh well :rolleyes1
Amen, sista. I think that every month or so. :sad2:

Yo, Sher! Why do you hate your bank? Oh i know!!! I ALWAYS think that there should be MUCH more in there than there is...hmmph! WHere does it all go? :rolleyes1 Oh and LMAO when I caught yesterday's epi of AMC...Oh help me! :rotfl2: What's his name, the guy yelling at Bianca, the "abusive" character...that was some PRETTY LOOOOOOUSY acting. :bitelip: Reminded me of the old Lucky SPencer/new Adam Jr whenever he had a "passionate, angry" scene....haahyuck! Makes Ryan Lavery look like a Shakespearean actor! :duck: ;)

Anyhoo....we are ALL OVER the map about the homebuying thing. I'm now considering a two-family in our hothothot university neighborhood and renting the other unit, but the risk...Am I ready to be a landlord? Anyone a landlord, here?

Anyway, all around.

Getting a chocolate fountain? Hmm... reminds me, it's time to move... I know what y'all like so this weekend when I am calmed down from my day at work, I'll get to it :)

Stacy, sounds like a heck of a day for you. Sorry you had to go through that, but it sounds like they are being nice enough about it all. I agree with you on the furniture... I'd leave it too (unless it was near to damaging something of course)

John, you shouldn't lurk... we like those who post as well ;)

Speaking of which, to every single one of you lurkers out there (and you KNOW who you are) POST!!!! We miss ya

Sherry, good luck with your bank. I know mine gets to me every now and then. Almost as much as the people who don't send bills to us that we have NO CLUE how much we owe, and I only remember to pay ontime after having to track down numbers and websites to get the money out to them! Speaking of which... need to do that with NY&Co. Had to do that with Circuit City too. Special financing deals are great... when they remember to send you the bill

Tara... more  for you. I do hope that the doctors will be able to help you and Jar out as much as possible :grouphug:

Jeannie, I swear if I didn't have some teeny desire to have kids, I would probably look into the good & bad of just taking it all out ;) Not a landlord here, but I know some friends who have been/are. They said the key is being *very* specific in the contract and being good about repairs when needed (as in making for a good relationship with the renter). Have fun deciding!

Hi everyone!

I'm alive and well. Just been busy at work again, and haven't had much to say, so I decided to keep my mouth shut for a few days.

So, all this talk about iPod shuffles made me go looking for one today. Saw them at Best Buy and the Apple Store. Wound up buying an iPod mini instead. I was going to get the 1GB iPod shuffle (which would hold about 240 songs), but decided that the iPod mini would be better because of the display and it can hold 1000 songs. It's not that much bigger than the shuffle, and if I'm going to have that many songs on one thing, I'd like to be able to search them pretty easily.

Other than that, nothing going on here other than work.

JellyrollsKaren

Not much going on here, either. Been a busy, but boring, week at work, so I haven't had much time to post. Then there are all my "extracurricular activities"..........
Tonight, we are headed to BaB!!! Going to visit Dave's mom in NJ for her birthday tomorrow and we've decided her Dipsy Duck needs a sibling or a pet. Hoping they have the Happy Birthday accessories......

Yes, I'm guilty of lurking too. Just don't have anything much interesting to say. Arthritis has been bugging me and I've been a bit cranky. Growing up just is NOT all it's cracked up to be.

Thank you to all of the yaya's who have taken Karen's challenge. I have done so well thanks to the yaya's that I'm going to revise my goal!! I have just about made my goal!! Ya'll are the best!

Evening Ya Yas!
Hi TC nice to have you come out of Lurk mode.
Stacy, ok chocolate fountain it is. Meet you there later.
Elaine, Oh boyohboyohboy! We're going on a move...looking forward to it.
Beth, hope it slows a bit. We miss ya here. BaB shopping oh such fun.
Liz, glad you are back. Come on in.
JRKaren, iPod mini, now you can get a Bose docking station for GREAT sound!
Jeannie, good luck with the deciding. We dealt with the rental thing oh so long ago in the dark ages when I was a child. It was a PIA as I recall. I guess for our family we just weren't "into it."
Tara, PD for you and Jar.
Nancy, so what's up for the rest of your day. Errands successful?

Got back from dinner now getting ready to go to Borders. See ya later....

Yay, two of the lurkers said hi :)

Yep, picking, but oh well...

JRKaren, sorry work has been so busy. I hope not too bad though. I don't blame you for going for the iPod mini. Holding that many more songs AND the display would be worth it to me. I know I have about 1400 songs on my iPod currently and I know the little ones take up space fast. Enjoy it when you get it!

Bethie  I hope your athritis is feeling better soon. And never worry about your mood, we are just happy to have you here whenever :)

Way to go Tara!!!! That's so great!!!! It's a wonderful feeling when you can redo your goal to another since you reached the first :)

Hi Lily! Enjoy your evening out at Borders... I admitedly love that store!

I should have a boring weekend ahead. I have lots of cleaning to do, but I do have a g/c to the mall I need to spend. I think a few work clothes might be in order ::yes::

Jeannie - get the 2 family unit and then DH and I will move up and we'll stay with you in the one side and use the other unit as the skinnin' shed! :rotfl:

Yay to Tara!! :jumping1:

Oooohhhh and JRKaren got some groovy new :music: that I can shake my  to!!!!!!!

Elaine - did I have a great time on OUR vacation? I can't remember....... although all of that baby oil is still in my pores..... :confused3

Lily - somebody left their weight on MY doorstep, too!

Beth - getting old does stink!
Rose Mary - I read where perimenopause can last last for up to 10 years and then actual menopause for around another 10 years. I don't know who to pity more - me or my poor hubby! :rotfl2:

DD and I have tickets to the ballet to see Sleeping Beauty tomorrow. They're $49.00 each. I also got one for my friend and then her son made district band - so I told her I would get someone else. My other friend just called and said she can't go (the one who's been battling cancer for 2 years) - her white count cells are off and she's in chemo until April. The Dr. said she can't be around anyone and risk getting sick. Of course I've been sick all week.

Sooooo.... I just called up DH, who is on a frozen lake ice-fishing. Our conversation:

Me: "Hi Honey. How much do you love me.'
DH: "Ummmmmm, lots - WHY??!!"
Me: "A lot? You love me a lot?"
DH: "This conversation is making me nervous - what did you do now?"
Me: "Nothing. I just wanted to say I love you sooooooo much."
DH: "Yeah, sure. What did you want?"
Me: "Go to the ballet with us tomorrow......"
DH: "Moan, groan.... Isn't there anyone else you can drag along?"
Me: "Is my Dad in the shanty? Ask him."
DH: "Did you hear that - she wants you to go to the ballet!" :rotfl:
Dad in background: "Oh yeah, that's what I want to do - sure I'll go......."
Sounds of hysterical laugher waft back to me.....
DH: "I have to go - I think I have a bite on the line. Try and find someone, anyone. If not, I guess I'll go."
