Hmmmmmm.... methinks Nancy's Lily is giving Boo a little competition for the title of "Little Miss Hosty-Totsy YaYa"!!

And tons and tons of going out to Christin for the job!!!

Blech - rain, rain and more rain. More flooding, although we are about a mile or so from the creek and are safe - but tons of the cottages are flooded again - 3rd time since Sept. The girl at work has her road under water - again.

Pammy Im sorry you are getting so much flooding. I will say prayers that the rain stops.

Well the other potato's didnt blow up so I ate the blown one LOL. The kids were excited that I actually made baked potatos. Normally they wont eat them. Go figure kids.

Kristy I use my crockpot a lot. I put it on the top of our flat top stove or in the sink just in case and I always cook on low since I have to cook it for such a long time. I have never had a problem and it's just so nice to come home and have dinner basically done. All I have to do is heat up whatever starch we are having and a veg. We are eating much more healthy lately and we are just being much more of a family lately not eating on the run and eating junk foods.

Ohhhhhhh I found the exact crockpot that I want to get at Sears. I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. Its a 7 quart stainless steel with a temperature gauge. It's gonna be perfect for roasts and stuff like that. Im so excited!!! It's on sale too!!!

Pam so sorry to hear about all the flooding in your area. I'll send up some prayers for everyone, especially your coworker.

Thanks for the tip. I always put mine on top of a LARGE wooden chopping block and then on top of my island. Otherwise it will warp the island protective covering I have.

Been planning prego SIL #1's baby shower with my other SIL. We're going half and half on the invitations. Then in the fall, we'll be helping with prego SIL #2's shower. Sooo exciting! Plus, Junior's cousin is prego and my friend's sister is prego. And my SIL's sister is getting married, so I'll be showered out this year.

Karen, that crock pot looks like a nice one! My cooking skills have always scared me enough that I've avoided crock pots. I've always been SURE I'd poison someone because I cooked something at too low a temp. or not long enough, etc etc... Guess if I followed a recipe that wouldn't happen though huh? Why didn't I think of that before now?

Pam, how is DD doing now that she's back in school? Getting back into the routine can sooooo stink!

Then, those are kept in my Crop in Style tote thing, except for the colors that I am working with. Those I leave on my table because I'm a lazy slob.

"Why do you say that?" My overtired brain revs up the engine and starts weighing the pros and cons of galleries and museums that have started doing this...Pace Wildenstein L.A., the Guggenheim Soho, Bilbao, Vegas...

"'Cause then we'd have to start referring to the WHITNEY HOUSTON and Claes Oldebnburg in the same breath."


GROOOOOOAN! Is that bad or what...DH came up with that all on his OWN! I thought Deena'd like it bc it had her hometown in it.

Kim Im doing a lot better this evening painwise. The pain pill is starting to wear off and it's tolerable now. I think I just tore that muscle again. Just gonna have to be careful. Other than that Im feeling actually pretty good. Im going back to work tomorrow and have been doing little things around the house all afternoon just to keep it moving.

Kimmie I think you would do great with a crockpot. It is very very difficult to mess anything up in it or undercook in it unless you use the high heat for something that needs to be slow cooked. I have a ton of recipes for you if you want them and a lot of them are online so you can bookmark the sites.

I am really excited about the new crockpot. It is exactly what I want and it's on sale. What can I say appliances make me happy LOL.

Karen, I should investigate the crock pot thing. Who knows... maybe I'd actually create something decent... miracles do happen! Are you less likely to set off smoke alarms with them? Hi YaYa's! Just wanted to quickly say hi and head back to bed. Stayed home from work today and slept and laid around mostly.

Just received some bad news that a first cousin died. My mom is taking it pretty hard so I will be heading down to visit with her tomorrow.

Hope all YaYa's are healing, staying warm and out of trouble. LOL!

Kimmie I have a ton of recipes and yes you really cannot set off the smoke alarm with the crockpot. I will type up some for you and send you some links to some sites I have bookmarked.

The one the kids especially like is made with pork cutlets, a can of cream of mushroom soup, a little white wine or whatever wine you have open, and a can of mushrooms. You just throw it all in in the morning, set it on low and let it cook. It comes out great and very very tender. You can also do this with skinless chicken breasts. Also if fat and salt is a consideration you can use the low fat soups and the taste is really no different.
