Morning...on hold for 30 minutes so far, listening to BAD easy listening. Note to self, tax refund buys a hands free cordless phone. Retire Mickey to another room.

The tag fairy must have been visiting the yayas this past week, because I got a new tag based on my comments about "The Parent Trap", lol. Now I'm scouring everyone else on here to look for new tags.

Hi to everyone. Finally got what I need, thirty seconds after getting a rep.

Off I go to finish the taxes and see the doc!

Suzanne

Todd your cruise is coming up pretty soon!! How exciting! We are going to to the DCL one day just not sure when. Guess I better go before Fall 2006 when I have to start paying for college fee's and tuition.
Rose Mary our school gets money for attendance too but sheesh, going to the school with the Flu or Head Lice--yuck! Plus I'd be one mad parent if my kid got lice from the school because they wont let the student go home.
 Its Friday!! no I just have to make it through til about 9pm tonight when David gets home. Then I can regroup my sanity for next week.
Send out your good thoughts to Evan today. We have an eye appt to see if he has a lazy eye or not. I never noticed anything but his preschool teacher said she had. He was tested by the school nurse and he passed the test but as we were leaving she said oh....I just saw it turn in so we have an appt with an Opthamologist today.

Deena,

Good luck with Evan. I've got a lazy eye-it wasn't taken care of and I've got a big blind spot as a result. The eye works, the brain just shuts off what it sees since it doesn't match the other eye. Wasn't forced to wear the patches, and I found out just a little too late that surgery would have helped (I was 24 and they felt it wouldn't help then, but if I'd done it even two years earlier...).

Look for it when he's tired, that's when mine is really noticeable-and if he needs exercizes, be firm!

Suzanne

Deena--good luck today at the eye doctor with Evan...

Amanda already talked about possibly booking a 7 day cruise in 2007 if we like this cruise....

Good luck to Evan.

Stopped at the grocery store and guess what they just put in? A place to build your own bear. :teeth: Looks pretty cute. Although the outfits aren't as cute as BaB.

Good morning.

Deena, glad you made it through the week. Is the family feeling better?
Good luck with Evan. Geoff had lazy eye. Diagnosed at 19 months.

JRKaren, good luck getting someone to help you.

Suzanne....LOVE the new tag!! I haven't had any new ones in over 2 years.

Sherry....I have seen those BaB-wannabes....just not the same.

RM....good luck with your celeb sightings ;) I told the story of the one we saw in Penney's  Didn't know it at the time.

Amanda....you are not late for Elaine's wishes. Today is her birthday ;)

Todd, no advice on excursions. Only been to Alaska. And the really neat excursions were too pricy. I decided to do the less expensive ones the first time since I didn't know what I was doing.....and had no help with input ;) Loved them though. And we liked exploring on our own.....although I would have been perfectly happy to stay on the ship.
I would love to do another sometime......the Fjords!! But way too $$$ Someday.

:wave2: Liz
:wave2: Pam

And everyone else that hasn't checked in yet.

Deena, good luck with the Evan's doctor's appointment. I have a lazy eye (or more like two lazy eyes). I've had surgery three times for it (once on the right eye, twice on the left eye). Way back when I was a kid and had it, they tried to treat it with glasses, and then I wound up having surgery on one eye when I was two and the other when I was three. I needed a second surgery on the left eye when I was twelve. I still have the lazy eye problem when I'm really tired (people notice sometimes that I'm not looking at them).

Did you know that the Mona Lisa has stabismus (the medical term for a lazy eye)?

JellyrollsKaren

Pam-I didn't think you were lying, just thought you were teasing me about

Oh ye of little faith. :guilty: See - the media isn't always horrible and mean...... ;) Do I have to send you to my website for proof of the story?????????? ;)

Deena - good luck with the eye doctor.

Nancy - my dream vacation, besides Scotland and Ireland, is a cruise to Alaska!! We loved the DCL one we did 4.5 years ago. I think the Alaska one will be on the back burner for a long, long time now..... :rolleyes2 DS just announced that a career CSI-related interests him. (DH said, "Why not, he has tons of experience gutting things and blood doesn't bother him!) Why can't my kids pick a career that only involves 2-4 years of college????????

Amanda, how nice and kind of you to have Mandy's friend over and providing him with the love, care, and nurturing that he needs! :goodvibes

Tara - I went back and read your painting post! I remember that! Too funny!! And I saw that TH thought your boy was sweet and couldn't do any wrong..... unlike someone's brats..... coughDeenacough :rotfl:

Happy Birthday Elaine!!!! :bday:

HI everyone! Just a quick check in - I am sooo far behind - may take days to ketchup!!

What a week it's been. I had my car checked - no damage from the fender-bender - DD's friends car going in for estimate today - also had recall work done and regularily scheduled maintenance - that all too about 4 hours - thankfully I brught magazines and a DD coffee!!

Report cards came on Thursday - no surprises - DD failed her AP Stats class for the quarter but passed for the semester - we knew she was struggling with this one - all other grades above 90.
DS (my adhd kid) failed gym (sigh..) but passed everything else - only English (his least favorite subject) went down - everything else went up - and no negative behavior comments so I was pretty happy - I definitely think changing the meds was a good thing - he has his 504 review in April - I am thinking of some other reccomendations that may help him.

As for me housebound and working - the old truck that we kept when DH bought his new one is dead in the driveway so I let DD take my car to school every day (another perk to working from home).
We did DD FAFSA (financial aid) forms last night - college is coming so fast - DH totally stressed out over it!!

I'll check in again later today .....

Paula

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELAINE!!!!

Love ya'll, haven't had a chance to see what's happened over the last couple of days. BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!!! Am going to try to ketchup--the guys are in a meeting and hopefully, they have a lot to talk about! Then maybe, they will all go to lunch together!!! ::yes::

:cloud9: 12 pm and still in my robe and jammies :cloud9: this is the life!!

We did get some rain then snow then a mixture of rain and snow last night into this morning. Some schools were delayed but nothing serious :cold:

Anyone see Happy Days Reunion Last Night?? :guilty: I missed Most of it because I forgot it was on...

ok more ketchup later

:wave2: to everyone else that was not mentioned !!!

:grouphug: have a wonderful day :grouphug:

:cool1: It's noon time and the sun is finally starting to peek out. Hopefully, it will stay out so people can see that Jacksonville isn't so bad. I hear we are being trashed in papers all around the country. Guess it's the ones that didn't get the bid for the Super Bowl. Anyhow, :sunny: is good!

Deena, good luck at the eye doc. Hopefully, if it is lazy eye they will catch it now. Cameron went to the childrens hospital to have his eyes checked out when he was in 1st grade. They said he just had astigmatism and needed to wear glasses only to do his schoolwork, reading etc. Well, 7 yrs later we find out he actually had a lazy eye and it should have been corrected then. Now he has amblyopia which the eye dr really didn't think could be improved but, gave him some eye exercises. He improved so much by the next appt. the doc was in shock and told the whole office about it. Oh & the head lice thing, my sister really has a problem with that. She has two girls and makes them both keep their hair pulled back and lectures them all the time about not using other kids combs, brushes etc. She would flip if they got it.

Uh oh, must get back to work. (Had to really work today  ) Darn it!
Later.....................

Hey Pam! I was just looking at your signature, and I think you need some dancing bananas in it. I think it would look cool if you had like two dancing banans on either side of Disco guy. Like this:

  :dancer:

JellyrollsKaren

Ohhh. I do like that. It's like he has backup singers.

JellyrollsKaren

Stacy-Why are we suppose to wear red today?

JRkaren-I agree, LOL.

am·bly·o·pi·a : Dimness of vision, especially when occurring in one eye without apparent physical defect or disease. Also called lazy eye.

stra·bis·mus: A visual defect in which one eye cannot focus with the other on an object because of imbalance of the eye muscles. Also called squint.

JRKaren: You have the squints, LOL.

Pam said:
And I saw that TH thought your boy was sweet and couldn't do any wrong..... unlike someone's brats..... coughDeenacough :rotfl:

Hey I bet you didnt send her kids that "how to be naughty" handbook that you sent to mine. All Pammy's tried and true secrets!!

BTW the guy in the middle should be stripping down to his skivveys's!!

My bananas are frozen about half the time

Been wearing my red all day today, Stacy ::yes:
About to head to the movie....finally get to see my scary one :hyper:

Geoff had eye surgery when he was 21 months old. The lazy eye hasn't returned. He went from being far sighted to being near sighted though. Went without glasses for about 2 years before it went the other way.

:wave2: Hi Beth.....bye Beth.

See ya all later.....oh Pam, I think your DS has chosen a great profession. I would love to do something like that....but of course, I would pass out on the first call
