Merry Christmas Eve, Ya Yas!

I've wandered out of bed for a few minutes to say hi to everyone. I hope this is the worst day of this cold, because geez! I had to cancel plans we had to visit friends tonight because I think I'd only be awake and coherent for about half an hour. I told her it would end up being the first scene in the next big zombie movie - me hugging her and accidentally coughing on her or something. Next thing you know it's Cold of the Living Dead. :earboy2:

Lily, the snow around you sounds so pretty. Hope you didn't get too cold moving it around, though. Those socks sound nice and toasty though. Yesterday when the sun was setting after the storm, it was very sparkly here too. Hope your little hairless puppy is feeling better. Too much excitement for him in the snow?

Pam, yup if I had to pay full tuition .. well, let's just say it might as well be 3 million dollars as 30 grand. No way, no how, especially for 4 or 5 years. Fortunately the programs I applied to have tuition waivers if you do teaching or research assistantships, plus I can apply for grants since I'm doing (hopefully) a PhD. Some ofthe guys I work with are American and what they paid for undergrad tuition just blows my mind, though. :earseek: Say, if I'm elected Ketchup Queen, do I get a crown? A sash, maybe. heehee

Elaine, flan sounds tasty about now (although I can't taste much). I'm glad it was worth the burnt fingers.

Nancy - Yay! I'm glad your computer is on it's way back to it's old self. I'm sure you can get it back to the way you had it in no time. :)

Kristy, hope the weather change didn't upset your sinuses too much. I think the headaches I get from low pressure are one of the things that prompted me to get into weather. At least I can predict them myself now, heh. Your niece is a cutie.

JRKaren, hope your family get together went well. 17 people sounds like a lot of fun (and I'm sure it's 18 in spirit). That dip sounds yummy too, and I would think crackers would be fine for it. Let us know how it worked out. I'm always up for a new dip recipe. ;)

Sherry, have fun at your mom's place. Hope your aunt and cousins were able to make it too.

lvs_eeyore, I hope your weekend of rest gets you feeling better. Try not to worry too much about having to delay some of your holiday stuff because of being under the weather .. it'll just be Christmas extended to next week. Feel better. :)

Deena, well, at least you didn't have to go *in* the mall. They had pictures of some of the ones around here on the 6pm news. Yikes!

Beth, wow! That's great the way things worked out. Talk about Christmas magic. I hope you guys have a wonderful time!

Tara, that's a shame about your ex not getting to see your son. Hope it can make it there sometime soon.

Rose Mary, thanks - we might go see the Unfortunate Events movie this weekend, then. Hope your wrapping went smoothly.

Ok, I better drag my germ-y self back to bed soon. I just wanted to wish all the Ya Ya sisters and brothers a very Merry Christmas, and to say thanks for letting me hang out with ya. I've only been a part of the gang for a short time, and you've all made me feel so welcome. I'm so glad I clicked in here.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Cake testing is done!! Cake is ordered. It will be lovely.

Have fun Beth.

A friend in IN said they had 28" of snow!!

Have a good evening everyone.

helenabear... saw your signature shot in person today... but alas, NOT good weather today for Epcot.... cold, raining... windy.... ack. Still lots of persons, as you could imagine. Skipped invite to CLProsessional as figured SSB would have flashbacks to Chicago, or sumpin'

Hope all o' the YaYa's have a great Christmas Eve!!!! :)

Nancy, glad your got you computer back up and moving. Yay that the cake is picked!

Kristy, what a cute siggie pic. And your clippie is looking oh so smart on you! Wow! 30 pounds lost. That is an amazing thing you are doing for yourself. Congratulations!

JRKaren, thanks for the pic. Hope your family day went fantastically well!

Sherry, hope you had a good eve with the ILs.

Karen, don’t be too sad this Christmas. You haven’t ruined anything! I am certain your family is grateful to have you even if you are a bit sick just now. You have your holiday whenever you do. It doesn’t have to be THE day. Glad you managed to sleep. Hope that it is helping. Sometime you need to let things pass by and if this is the time for you then so be it. Grab a good book or movie and just relax. You have been and are such a busy person.

Deena, so no more employment for your young one? OK, if you are happy for your flakes, then I am happy for you. I think we have way too many here.

Dave, What a great DH to support Beth on her upcoming trip. That is so sweet.

Beth, wow! What a great opportunity you have there. You are really smart to take advantage of a “free” week. Will you be making that Ya Ya meet up with Amanda and Todd then too?

Liz, ohboyohboyohboy for your! Sounds like you will be really enjoying your week. Glad to hear of it.

Tara, sorry that Jar will miss his Dad and that Dad will miss being with his son. I’m hoping that they will be able to connect soon. Sounds like you will be enjoying some Santa.

RM, have fun wrapping your things and enjoy your family.

Caroline, hope you feel better tomorrow. Glad you came here to hang with us too!

SSB, sorry it is kinda cold there. We had a great weather week there that first week in December. I guess we were really lucky.

I think I would miss not being able to run here to see what everyone is doing and tell you all what’s going on here too. I am feeling mighty blessed that I have been able to join in here. What a lucky one I am!

I’m off to relax some. All went quite well for dinner tonight. We all enjoyed each other during our family time. It was a very relaxing evening. Going to wait up to see if I can spot Santa tonight.

The snow is covering some stuff outside like the boys toys, cars and houses and its still coming down good. Im so excited to have a white Christmas here in Houston. I hope it snows all night long.

Tiger Lilly.... heard some WAY cold times where you are... one of my best friends up there to see her parents for the holidays

Evening, all!

I haven't begun to ketchup, but might get to reading the 10 or so pages while Ed makes a minor repair. We got Kevin a bike, it was already assembled, but the nice, overworked elf at Walmart might have missed the training wheel that wasn't moving. Ed was looking forward to assembling the bike, so to be able to make a repair to the cool bike is okay. Let's just say my little motorhead will be in chopper heaven!

To all of you up north braving this ice and foul weather-there's a guest room anytime you want to cry uncle. There's even a car for use (if ya drive stick, that is!). I feel bad for y'all dealing with all of this.

Long couple of days at work, but the fun of it got me through the sleep deprivation. I kept telling people that they couldn't leave until they bought something for their inner child, lol!

To those who are sick (Karen and others), please rest up and get yourselves well!

Good night, Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Suzanne

It's 12:15 and guess who isnt asleep??? My kids!!! ROFL. We thought we would wrap the gifts while they slept tonight but now dh is hole up in our room wrapping like a mad fool ROFL!!! I got the stockings up and stuffed. Dh got his little booklet of candies in his stocking. Thats all he got for right now but I bet it brings back good memories for him tomorrow morning. After I am better we will both go out and get something for each other.

Im feeling a little better about being stuck in the house and mainly in bed or on the couch. Missing church tonight was hard for me. It was very difficult for me not to see my church family as they mean so very very much to us. I was going to go anyway and very nearly got dressed until dh sat me down and talked some sense into me. I am so not used to not being on the go all the time. I dont do sick well if you havent figured that out already LOL!!!

I just want to say thank you to you all for your wonderful friendship, caring, compassion, laughter, and fun. You all mean so much to me. You all are the best!!! I wish I could hug each and every one of you in person but for now a cyber hug will have to do. (((((((((((((((HUG))))))))))))))

SSB I will probably be in Disney next Christmas. Promise me I will finally get to meet you???

Too tired to do a ketchup here. Long day, but good! Just did a double duty at church (5:30 and midnight masses) and had dinner & present exchange with family between the two.

Very very very very cold! (when my husband wears a coat, and a winter one, y'all know it's cold). It read about 10 earlier today and we are well below zero tonight. My heart is really going out to people still w/o power here in Ohio :( Our neighbors had to take off this morning for warmth, and our choir director also had to as well. Some were w/o power for over a day... some still are.

Anywho, totally ignoring y'all ;) So I will just post this pretty little picture for all dreaming of a white Christmas and say Merry Christmas to you all!

WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!
It's Christmas day, yippee! I'm off to visit my family.
Hope everyone has a very special day with lots of wonderful times!
I'll be back Sunday!

Merry Christmas to all!

IM UP!!! IM UP!!! IM UP!!!! Who's yelling?? Oh it's you Rosemary!!! Hope you have a glorious day with your family!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY BESTEST YAYA BUDDIES!!!!!

Coffee is making and Im just waiting for the kids to get up. They didn't go to sleep until WAY late last night so Im not sure how early they will get up. Knowing them though it will be any time now and I don't want to miss it.

I couldn't have called it better if I tried. They just got up LOL!!!

Happy Christmas, Everyone! I hope that Santa is good to everyone, and that you all have a wonderful time with your families.

My family had a nice gathering yesterday. No one seemed too sad. We had one pretty funny moment yesterday. We were playing Cranium, and we had a question where we had to guess who a celebrity was based on three clues. The clues included Selena and Puff (and I can't remember the third). The answer was Jennifer Lopez. My mom couldn't stand Jennifer Lopez (Because of the new husband every other day), and she would sometimes go off on these big long random tangents about how she just doesn't like JLo. So, I figured it out right away, and I just started laughing and laughing. And one by one, my sisters got it, and we were all just laughing, thinking about how much my mom didn't like JLo. I think JLo is the only person I've ever heard my mom say a bad word about.

Anyways, my coattails are so full with Pam and Lily riding on them yesterday, I hope I can get through the rest of this post.

Karen, hope that Ping and Pong are happy with the gifts Santa brought them. As soon as the gifts are open, you get back in bed and rest. You didn't get very much sleep last night since you posted after midnight, and then again at 6:30.

Elaine, that's a great picture there. That stinks that some folks near you don't have power. Not a good weekend for that.

Liz, what are you doing getting all sentimental and mushy on us? What were you smoking last night?

John, 1 degree below zero? Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I hate the cold.

SSB, you're like the Yaya weatherman. Care to report on the weather here in Beantown? I'm a bit chilled up here right now.

Suzanne, I hope your little guy enjoys that bike. There's nothing like getting a bike for Christmas when you are a kid :)

Pam, Liz is always doing sneaky things. I'm sure she is always sneaking on all of our names and writing evil things.

Kristy, isn't it fun watching the little ones learn new things. Oh, and I loooooove Cracker Barrell. I love the hash brown cassarole, oh, and a mug sundae with caramel is often in line for dessert.

Nancy, you did a cake testing. Where's the cake for all of us? You can't mention cake without giving some to all of the yayas. That's the rule.

Deena, all excited about a few snow flurries, eh? Come up north for a few blizzards, and you'll be cursing the stuff like the rest of us.

Beth, have a great time at Liz's. I hope you survive. Are you going to bring a little Karen with you so that Liz can torture me? Although, it won't bother me nearly as much as it bothers Liz that I tortured little Liz.

Tara, that's too bad that Jar's dad got stuck in Boston. I went to the door and screamed, "Jarrod's Dad are you out there" but he didn't answer. I only got strange looks from the neighbors. Go figure.

Rose Mary, enjoy your visit with the relatives. Talk to you on Sunday.

Lily, I know what you mean about being part of this group, and really just of the DIS. It's nice to have a great support group there is I need it. I really had a blast hanging with everyone earlier this month.

Well, that will do it for now. Later.

JellyrollsKaren

Karen Im going to rest and relax all day. I didnt get much sleep last night at all. Christmas just makes me sleepless LOL. The only thing I have to do today is to start the Turkey. Dh will do all the rest. We are not even going to the IL's today because dh does not want me out and about at all. Good news is IM FEELING BETTER!!! Im still coughing pretty badly but the fever, nose, head, aches, and lymph node are much much much better!!!!!

The kids loved what they got....Pong being much more animated about it than the older Ping. I just hope Ping really does like what we bought. We got him a lot of science stuff like a robotics kit because he is so into it. He seems more enthralled with the 9.99 BeyBlade game I got him for the gameboy though.

Dh was very very very sweet. He went out briefly yesterday to pick up something for dinner and while he was doing that he picked up something I had seen that I really wanted.....a bottle of Sunflowers Perfume. I found that in my stocking this morning after I thought I would get nothing right now. I feel badly though because all I was able to get dh was a booklet of hard candies that he likes. He did say he loved it and it did bring back memories of childhood. He used to get one of those every year from Santa.

Merry Christmas everyone!!
John--cold here today too!!
Think its 0 out right now...brrr...
Skipped midnight mass because it was so cold and worried about the hill to the church....

Okay y'all... some of us went to midnight mass and wanted to sleep in today ;)

Just a quick hi... I might check in later from my Dad's as everyone is sitting around and vegging :p I have to get dressed, grab the flan, mixer & some dried minced garlic and then head over to start peeling potatoes for dinner.

Most of the rest of the day is going to be relaxing!

Todd, last night both services were a bit "thin" in the crowd. Very cold and the roads are in awful condition since nothing can melt away yet. Even the major streets can be bad! Ours has huge mounds of ice/snow. Wise move to stay home! We are hovering right around zero at the moment as well.

Anywho... I need to fly... see you all later!!!

Merry Christmas ----- Merry, Merry Christmas!!

Whew - just back from my usual flight around the world with the Jolly Old Guy! I'm exhausted.......we got stuck in a couple of chimneys in Ohio and slipped icy rooftops, chased by a knife-wielding lunatic in Alabama, saw a fake Santa kissing a Mommy in Kentucky, heard some lady in MA yelling for "Jar-Jar's Dad", got lost in a BaB closet in WA, lost our sleigh turbo charge power in NC, got tangled up in a cactus in AZ, tried to catch some rays in FL, Santa was caught spying on some chick breastfeeding in VA, saw two women performing a YaYa happy dance at the same time in IL and VA, let's not even go into what was happening in TX ( :earseek: ), a very, very cold lady in Canada was spotted dancing nekkid in the forest at midnight....., fire company was rushing to kitchen "mishaps" in both MA and CA (something about wanting to make breakfast for the family....), and then there was the dude in Florida wearing a grass skirt ----- and nothing under it! :earboy2:

Just your average, typical Christmas Eve....... ;)
