Merry Christmas ----- Merry, Merry Christmas!!

Whew - just back from my usual flight around the world with the Jolly Old Guy! I'm exhausted.......we got stuck in a couple of chimneys in Ohio and slipped icy rooftops, chased by a knife-wielding lunatic in Alabama, saw a fake Santa kissing a Mommy in Kentucky, heard some lady in MA yelling for "Jar-Jar's Dad", got lost in a BaB closet in WA, lost our sleigh turbo charge power in NC, got tangled up in a cactus in AZ, tried to catch some rays in FL, Santa was caught spying on some chick breastfeeding in VA, saw two women performing a YaYa happy dance at the same time in IL and VA, let's not even go into what was happening in TX ( :earseek: ), a very, very cold lady in Canada was spotted dancing nekkid in the forest at midnight....., fire company was rushing to kitchen "mishaps" in both MA and CA (something about wanting to make breakfast for the family....), and then there was the dude in Florida wearing a grass skirt ----- and nothing under it! :earboy2:

Just your average, typical Christmas Eve....... ;)

Oh my, I wondered what that flash of red and silver was! I tried to cover up but i guess it was too late!

Merry Christmas to all!!!

Santa was good here! Jarrod got all the Ninja Turtles he wanted! and a bunch of other stuff to clutter the house!

I got two really cool pairs of boots!! Now I have to wear skirts so the dressy ones will show!!

Gonna go watch Gone With the Wind! Scarlett is marrying Mr. Kennedy and riling people up!

hugs to all,
tara

SSB, you're like the Yaya weatherman. Care to report on the weather here in Beantown? I'm a bit chilled up here right now.

Suzanne, I hope your little guy enjoys that bike. There's nothing like getting a bike for Christmas when you are a kid :)

Too funny.... as SSB was going to be in Boston for the holiday... and would have been able to give better report that way... haha!

SSB is guessing:

Wicked Cold (see...even used Bostonese) :)

Agree on the bikes! SSB saw several kiddos riding their new one's around... including my oldest DS... a blast!

Today here in Orlando is pouring rain, and in low 50's... ugh. Was to go to MGM tonight, but the theater might be looking a tad better.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!

Started out good...now I am quite frustrated. Todd's Aunt's Christmas gathering is canceled due to no parking because of the mounds of snow. That I can deal with. What I am most frustrated about is that Mandy has a 'knot' at her throat gland. She isn't running a fever, but she also isn't acting herself. After talking with my Dad he convinced me to call the Dr. I have only called once in Mandy's 7 years. Her Dr. isn't on call, so I figured I wouldn't get anywhere. They just want to see her on Monday. Says it is probably something going into an infection....okay, so give her something preventive. I am so use to her Dr. who is very preventive and since I don't come in for just anything is always willing to talk it through with me and come to a mutual agreement. The 'knot' hurts when we touch it. I hope everything is fine on Monday. The girls are looking forward to our short trip to Indy....

We are going to my Dad in about 2 hrs. He didn't come to my sister's yesterday. We have no idea if we will be able to park, Dad's vehicles are snowed in for the most part and he says they only cleared the parking for the bar across the street

Spent some time at my brother's this morning. That was nice.

This is a total EOIP...but as frustrated as I feel today...that is all I can muster.

EOIP....but wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!

Had a wonderful morning.....got lots of goodies :) Including some Jack Sparrow bumper stickers :teeth:

Hope everyone is having a good day. Continued get well wishes for those that are sick.
Safe travels to those going places.
Be back later.

Now you know Im bored out of my gord. Ive been searching in vain for these flat cardboard embossed angel ornaments we got one year. I love them but we cannot find them. I can't find them on the web either. The tree was so beautiful that year. We had all the angel ornaments on the tree and lace ribbon streaming down from the top of the tree. I really want to do the tree like that again next year. I have had dh going nuts in the crawl spaces trying to see if he can find them. I can only find two of them and they were in the house for some reason.

Very quick hi here... about to play a game that my brother & SIL gave me and just enjoy my family today. All food has been cooked and eaten and life is good. Survived with only one 2nd degree burn and a very small 1st degree on my thumb (thanks to my brother :p)

Anywho...

Pam... that was beautifully written :teeth: Loved it!!!

You know, SSB, I would rather have the freezing cold weather here than rain. Enjoy hte evening no matter where you go.

Amanda, I pray that Mandy's "knot" isn't anything serious!!!!

Mad love to you all... off to race through WDW on my game :hyper:

Keep good thoughts please. I'm taking my mom to the emergency room. She is having a pain and numbness in her shoulder. She has had it for a few days but it seems to be getting worse.

I'll update when I get home!
tara

Tara my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your mom. I wont stop praying till I hear an update from you.

Merry Christmas YaYas!

This is going to be an EOIP, I'm afraid. I've been in and out of bed napping all day - this cold is knocking me out! Our family gathering isn't until tomorrow so Scott's making me some turkey tenders (breaded with stuffing .. best idea the grocery store's ever had!) and some fixin's. Smells good, even through my stuffy, Rudolph-like nose.

Slight breach of EOIP etiquette here, but Tara, I'm keeping good thoughts for your mom. I hope all is well.

Tara, my thoughts and prayers are with you all... do keep us posted on this when you can

Caroline, I have a history of getting bad colds around Christmas... I hope you are feeling better soon.

I am just tired right now... the pizza I had for dinner last night dinner sit well with me and I was up until about 3:30 with my stomach hurting. Slept in a little today, but not quite enough I think... cooking/baking takes a lot out of me too.

Back to family stuff :)

Sorry to hear about so many feeling under the weather. Prayers headed out to all of you!

It has been quite a disappointing evening here too as well. Greg's SIL decided to be a real witch this evening. It would appear that we are done being treated like crap. Sad thing is, Greg and his brother will really suffer due to this, as will the girls. Neither Greg or I can bear to take her crap anymore regardless of what relationships get severed. Not such a Merry Christmas here. I sure wish it had all worked out a lotdifferant. I am really going to miss the girls.

Night night!! I am beat!!

EOIP here too! Merry Christmas to all!!!! Too bad it will all be over with soon :( :(
We had a great time at mom and dad's house today. I have plenty of Disney dvd's to watch this week and Derek has plenty of sci-fi dvd's to watch :) We also got to spend time with my grandparents, Dakota and Dakota's mom(Amanda). Oh...my grandma also made me a lasagne....YUMMMMMMMMM Then for dinner mom and dad stuffed us with turkey, dressing and the works.....boy did we bring home loads of it too. Gotta love that...no cooking for me this week :teeth:

Tara, Karen, Caroline, Amanda & Todd I'm keeping you all in my prayers tonight that everything turns out okay.

Oh yah.....you folks up north KEEP YOUR SNOW UP THERE....pretty please with a cherry on top ;) We're forecasted to get 1 to 3 inches here tonight. If you're familiar with NC you know that everything here shuts down when the weather guys says snow or ice

Well, I'm home.
Mom is still in the hospital. The did an EKG, blood work and chest x-rays and they don't think that it is/was a heart attack. The dr. feels relatively confident that it had nothing to do with her heart. Actually, let me back up b/c I don't even remember what I told you the first time.

She has been having pain in her left chest for several days (I found out last night:rolleyes: I tried to get her to go last night but she didn't want to. Even though the pain in her chest was a stabbing pain. She justified it by saying that she wasn't having any numbness or tingling, she wasn't short of breath, and otherwise felt fine. She did note that she had a numb spot on her breast but figured it was just a fluke. So today the pain continued but she fixed Christmas dinner and did the whole Christmas thing without complaint. Then the numbness (duh! Numb???) was found on her side under her arm. So finally after dinner she decided that she should go to the hospital and be checked. Ethan went with Chris and Beth and I took Jarrod to his other grandma's house.

They triaged her straight back to a room and had her hooked up to an ekg in no time flat. She kept telling them how dumb she felt for coming in when she was pretty sure it wasn't a heart attack. anyway, the EKG was fine, the blood work looked good, and the chest x-ray was good. The chest x-ray was my concern since my GMA died last year of lung cancer. But he said her lungs were beeautiful!! However, since she has some risk factors for heart disease (family history, diabetes, over 55, and fat) they decided to keep her over night and continue to check her blood to make sure this wasn't the beginnings of a heart attack. The will also do a stress test tomorrow and if all is still well then she can come home tomorrow. If not, well....

Mom and I had already planned to start a weight program after the first of the year and now I KNOW we will. This is too much of a scare for either of us! I told her I wasn't ready to become a completly single mother!!

Sorry for the ME post. I"m going to go to bed now, it has been a long day. Thank you for all the thoughts. I'm know they are helping tremendously!!

I'll check back in tomorrow morning!
hugs,
tara

Tara I am SO glad to hear that mom is okay. I was SO worried. Get some sleep sweetie. It's been a long scary night for you. I will continue to keep mom and you in my prayers. I just know you will both do what's best for you and if you want a weight loss buddy Im here!!! Maybe we could all do it together!!!

Tara I'm so glad to hear that everything looks good on the tests. I'll keep praying that she passes all of the others one tomorrow. I know that with determination you and your mom can meet your health goals.
Karen that's a great idea. Derek and I have really fallen off the wagon since the beginning of November and gained back several pounds. However, we're back on plan starting January 2nd....so we could all start a mini WISH "challenge/motivation booster" here in yaya land.

Kristy I LOVE that idea!!! It's so much easier when you have someone doing it with you and going through the same things you are. We all might be on different diets but they are diets just the same. I have a HORRIBLE picture of me taken at dh's Christmas Party a few weeks ago and Im keeping that up on my fridge. Hopefully having to look at that picture will help keep me motivated after Jan 2. I decided not to try before then after thinking about it because it's just too hard around the holidays with all the junk around that you don't normally eat.

I'm glad to hear your mom seems to be ok, Tara. Hope they find it was just holiday stress getting to her. 2 years ago I started having migraines that made my left side numb and feel like it was weak. I've had migraines since I was a kid, but these were totally different and scared the heck out of me! They had me on an EKG and the whole bit. After I told him my symptoms, the ER doctor said, out of the blue "Do you get migraines?", and then said "Yup, that's just a different kind. You're fine." So I hope something similar happens for your mom (well, I don't hope that she gets migraines but I hope that it's something that simple ;) ). Get some good rest.

I'd be on board for a YaYa-based weight loss effort too. I've been doing ok on my own the past few months (pre-WDW/Christmas anyway), but I'm game for a team effort. :)

Right, I'm off to bed. Gotta get up early to head to my parents' house for Christmas Part 2 - The Revenge. Have a good night everyone.
