Flan is done!!!!!!!

Sherry, I suppose I could send it to you... with this freezing cold, I bet it would keep ;)

Pam, flan is very very good :teeth: The carmelized sugar isn't perfect at all, but better than it could have been. But I had a sneak taste of the custard part... yummy!!! I love this recipe!

Lily, I can only hope that the sun will come out a little tomorrow... it is supposed to be cold, so all of this ice would be gorgeous with that sunshine on it! Do stay safe out there!

Liz is making me post naughty things on her thread - I think someone should call Santa and report her!
Am not!!! And Santa KNOWS I have been a VERY GOOD GIRL!!! Just ask him!! :cool1:

I'm back :bounce:
No cheetoing of Geoff.....although he could probably eat them all.
But I am on my computer.....it of course has a long way to go to be back to the way it was....but I can DIS.
My speakers don't work, I miss my merryweather cursor and he loaded me a new browser that I need to get used to.
It is so naked. There is nothing on here :(
BUT....no time to read or post now.
Too many holiday things to do for the next few days, then I should get back into the old "rut" ;)
I've missed you guys!!
Hope everyone is staying well and warm.

YAY!!!! Nancy is back :bounce:

Good luck getting your computer back where it was!!!

Heading to bed soon... get to sleep in a lot tomorrow :hyper: Might actually read again tonight too!

See y'all later!

shhh...I'm not really here.....I'm actually in bed sleeping like I should be ;)

Elaine I want Flan too!! Sorry about your burn though..ouch. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Everyone beware...the flood waters are about to pour :umbrella: ....Liz has been a good girl this year :duck: :earboy2:

Nancy I'm sending pixie dust to your computer and extra chocolate to Geoff so that he can fix everything.

Pam congrats to your dd on the grades....those are WONDERFUL..ugh college is a bear :) heheheh...I can sympathize with your son. When I had a beagle my walks with him were a lot like runs. That breed is high maintenance.

Tara good luck getting all the gifts wrapped without getting caught.

Lily...I loved reading your description of the snow/sun sparkle. That's always one of the best pictures of the winter. I'm definitely ready for Christmas and definitely enjoying my break. Today was my last day of work till Jan. 3rd so I'll be around here all next week. Well...at least when I'm not scrapbooking, reading, or sleeping :cool1:

Beth....I'm sending a house cleaner your way so that you can come hang out here and have a RELAXING holiday!! 'k?

Caroline I hope your on the mend soon.

Hiya Sherry....want us to send coal to your neighbors?? ;)

Yup....it's raining here still. Luckily the temps are in the 40's so no signs of bad weather...just barometric pressure changes to annoy my sinus's :charac2:

okay...I'm creeping off to bed...and remember...YOU DIDN'T SEE ME HERE!

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone! Where the heck did this year go? Geez.

We're having our big family Christmas get together today. With my dad, sibilings, their spouses, and the nieces and nephews, there will be 17 of us there. It's the first Christmas gathering since my mom passed away, so I'm sure it's going to be a bit sad and weird.

I'm making a buffalo chicken dip that I saw a recipie for in the newspaper a while back. I've never made it before, so hopefully it came out good. I wasn't exactly sure what would be good to dip in it, so I just got some Ritz Top 'Em crackers. Do you all think that's the right thing to use for dippers for that dip?

Elaine, hope that burn heals real fast. I hate burns. They hurt like h-e-double hockey stick. Oh, and I'll try some flan, too.

Sherry, good to see you around here again. It's funny because your first post back was shortly after my last post, and I had been thinking to myself, "We haven't seen a post from Sherry in a while."

Amanda, great sneakers there! I really hate that icy snow! Yuck!

Karen, I hope that you are starting to feel better. It sure has been a rough year for you sickness wise. You get this out of your system and have a healthy 2005!

Nancy, glad you are back on your computer. Hopefully you will get it back to where you want it real soon :)

PK, good to see you around here again! Don't be a stranger! It was nice meeting you as well. I hope that you wash your hands just like your mom does!

NHAnn, hope you have a Capering Christmas!

Caroline, sorry you are still under the weather. Hope you are feeling great real soon

Tara, those stupid Sears people. Losing your pictures. You definitely give them holy heck! And if that doesn't work, tell them they'll have a group of Yayas doing nekkid ritual dances in stores throughout the country!

Lily, I think all of this snow you have been getting is God's way of helping you with that cookie problem you have. There is no need for us to have an intervention for you--God is doing it. Of course, the rest of the folks in your area are suffering with the snow because of your cookie problem, but what can you do? It's all about Lily.

Pam, I heard about the little thread conversation you and Liz have going (although I haven't been reading it--Liz read the whole thing to me on the phone last night). Me thinks that Liz isn't the only one who is a naughty girl.

Liz, you have been a naughty girl all year long. Oh, and by the way, that soap isn't oatmeal soap. It's really haggis soap. Happy bathing.

Kimmie, Apolo Ohno. Just had to say the name. It's such a fun name to say. Apollo Ohno.

Deena, don't wish for snow. It's not fun. I hope your boys are starting to feel better.

Kristy, Dakota is getting so big. What a cutie she is! Love the newest siggie pic.

Hello and hugs to Suzanne, Todd, Alan, Krista, Kathy, SideshowBob,

Well, I think that will do it. Have a great one, everyone.

Karen

Morning Ya Yas!
Happy Chritsmas Eve!
JRKaren, I'm riding in on your ketchup. Way to go! Wheee!

Enjoy your gathering. Toast to your Mom who will be with you today.
I am not a good judge on food prep, so I can't advise about your dip/crackers.

I've got to tidy up inside a bit as I was outside doing that yesterday. Dog bedding is in the washer. Scrubbing the cage as the little hairless got sick in in during the night. DH is at work already. I've got the dinner lined up and defrosting. Tomorrow's dinner is in refrig, defrosting. All is progressing.

OK, Lily, I won't ask you for anymore dip advice. I will save all of my cookie questions for you, though!

Karen

Good morning all! Slept in this morning and loved it! I have nothing really to do today until this evening. So I'll just bum around the house I think for a while.

Hi Kristy... I mean no Kristy... well you know ;)

JRKaren, enjoy the time with your family. Those crackers sound good to me to dip in. I'm usually not picky myself though.

Lily good luck getting everything done today.

Morning!

Merry Christmas Eve!

We will head out to my mom's later today. We always spend C. Eve with her and my brother and my cousin. Not sure if my aunt and other cousin's will make it tonight.

JRKaren, your dip sounds yummy. My DS would love it. I think crackers would be good to dip in.

Lily, good luck with all your preparations.

Elaine, enjoy bumming. That is what I will basically be doing until we leave. :teeth:

Merry Christmas Eve my dear, dear YaYas and Bothers!!!

I am riding in on Lily, who is riding in on JRKaren's ketchup coattail!! ;)

okay...I'm creeping off to bed...and remember...YOU DIDN'T SEE ME HERE!

Hey!! Has anyone seen Kristy lately??? :confused3 (Adorable pic of Dakota, btw!!)

JRKaren - What!! GASP!! Has Liz been sneaking in and posting stuff under my user name, AGAIN?? I tell ya, she's a sick, sick girl! No Santy Claws visit for this YaYa!!

Oh and Liz - I agree - your visual description of the ice and snow was just lovely. I am happy to report that we have a teeny, tiny dusting of snow on the ground. YeeHaw.....

Shep - hamster update??

I just want to see that all of you bring such joy and happiness into my life. You are my sounding board - for all things good and bad. I know that I can count on you to share my triumphs and my tragedies, my good times and my darkest hours.

To think that almost 5 years ago I logged onto here to find out info for a trip to WDW and the Disney Cruise - and I found oh, so much more!!! :grouphug:

Have a blessed Christmas my friends!!!

I'm here! :teeth: :teleport: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE Everyone!!!

JRKaren  I hope you have a happy day. Remember to cherish the memories of your mom and know that she's with you in spirit.

Lily enjoy your day and don't worry about every little speck of the house. No one will notice them except you ;)

Elaine enjoy your lazy day. They are great aren't they??

Sherry enjoy your day as well.

Pam your sentiments are exactly how I feel as well. I'm so lucky to have found you all 2 years ago.

Thank you all for the compliments on Dakota's picture. She is growing like a weed and learning so many new things, like how to stick out her tongue.

I'm heading to the shower soon so that Derek and I can go to Cracker Barrel for lunch, then we'll be heading up to grandma's house around 2pm. Then back here to call his parents by 7 for Christmas via phone. After all of that we'll go to the 11pm Christmas service at church.

Merry Christmas Eve. I'm in such a good mood today......still issues with the computer, but so much better.

We're headed out to do some cake testing......then back for some food prepping.

Have a fun, nice, safe day everyone.

Hey everyone,

Just got up about ten minutes ago. I've been religated to home and bed until Monday. No going anywhere, no doing anything, no stress. Sounds great but it's making me sad. I want to go to church services tonight and we had to cancel with my ILs for tomorrow. I didnt get anything for dh from the kids except a little book of candies for his stocking. Now I cant even go out and get him anything. I wont get anything in my stocking either because dh has been so busy with the kidlets that he hasnt had time to go and he wont leave them with me to go anywhere. I guess we will go out after Christmas is over. Just kinda isnt the same. Sorry Im a downer.

Hope everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!

Quick hi and bye... just wanted to say hope you all enjoy your Christmas Eve nights around here!

I had a lot more to do today than I thought. Need to get ready for church and stuff... see y'all!

Oh my. Just dropped Michael off at work (his last day) at the mall. To say the place was a madhouse is the understatement of the year. Took me forever to get away from there. Im sure it will be fun fighting them again at 6 when he gets off.
Oh!! We had a few teeny tiny snow flurries here. I hope their big brothers come along shortly!! lol
and since I probably wont be on to much this pm or tomorrow...........
MerryChristmas!!

OMG, what a Christmas this is turning out to be!!! I get to spend tomorrow with my son!! I've been so bummed becuz Dave has to work all weekend and next week, he is working some days and some nights. So this past Tuesday, the boss comes to me and tells me that while I already know that we have off on Friday (today), it has been decided that the office will also be closed all of next week!! And I still get paid!! Wonderful, I'll be home, but DH will be either working or sleeping. I mentioned it to Liz and, WONDERFUL sistah that she is, she offers her plane voucher to me so I can come visit her!! She immediately started checking flights and then things started to fall apart at work. But, I pulled it off, got all the fires put out yesterday, and then the boss says he would like me to drop by the office a couple of times next week to pick up the mail and deposit any checks that come in. DANG!! Liz is already making plans, how am I gonna work this?!! So, I talked to my buddy, the mailman, and he says, no problem, put the mail on hold for the week! I was planning to come home Friday, anyway, so I can pick up the office mail at the PO then! (See, Saturday is our anniversary and I want to be able to spend the whole weekend with my sweetie  ) So, now I'm :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc cuz I get an extra week off with pay, I'm goin' to visit one of my best buds, AND she's got snow!!!!!!!!

Good thing we didn't use the bail money when we were all down at WDW--I have a feeling Liz and I are gonna need it!! I hear the plan is to spend the entire day in THE CITY (Chicago) on Wednesday--including a show that evening!!! I'm sure we will have some mighty interesting stories to relate next week!!

Total EOIP, I'm afraid, but I'm just soooooo :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: now!! Dave, you are just the BESTEST for being so understanding and letting me go!

Gotta go get ready for church, now. Ya'll have a warm and wonderful evening!

PEACE ON EARTH, GOODWILL TOWARD MEN

ketchup
Beth congrats on going to see Liz. We will keep the bail money handy for you two!! Leave something standing in Chicago!!
Deena...I understand the mall stuff. My mom used to drop me at work during the holiday season b/c parking was such a pita! Glad he is almost done and that you have a few flakes around :)
Pam..sorry for the lack of snow...we have cold air but nothing else!
Elaine...flan sounds good, send some here! And i'm convinced you can't prove you actually cooked unless you burn yourself!
JRKaren...if you see a guy walking around Boston looking totally dejected and like a man wihtout a home say hi it just might be my ex (Jar's dad) He was supposed to come to town today on an overnight layover and the plane broke, so he is stuck in Boston. No family, no real friends and sad because he doesn't get to spend Christmas eve with his son. I'm so sad for him. I told him to get himself a nice dinner and to try and enjoy his evening.

Have a good evening all!! Gotta get santa stuff ready here soon!

hugs,
tara

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE TO ALL MY WONDERFUL YA YA SISTAHS AND BOTHAS!

OH NO Watch out Chicago, two wild women and gonna invade. Beth
how exciting :Pinkbounc :jumping4:

It's rainy and cold here BUT, I'm not complaining!!!!!!! I'm just mentioning it since everyone else is talking about the lovely cold, snow, ice that you all have going on. :earseek:

Elaine-I didn't know you were interested in moving to a warmer climate. I would have worked on Luis for ya' while ya'll were here. If you and Luis move to sunny Fl. and Liz and Greg OH WOW! I would have lots more Ya Ya fun!

Nancy-so glad you are semi-back with us. Enjoy your family for the holidays. It's a little sad here today. DS spent some time w/me this afternoon, but he's gone to his grandparents with his dad for the evening and I have to wait until early a.m to pick him up and head out to be with my family. Loved all your cookie recipes. I'm making a Cream cheese poundcake right now and then a peanut butter one.

Kristy- Where ya been? (LOL) Your niece is adorable.
Tara-Love the boys Santa pic. Happy Crack & plumbers ROTFLMAO! You are too much!

Pam-Love your family pic. Are you sure they gave you the right pic? LOL
Congrats to DD on those wonderful grades. I know you are very proud of her.

Kimmi-If you are yaya scum then what am I? Ok don't answer that...........
(stupid 'puter won't let me get the smilies I want)

Jeannie-good to see ya around. Any bagels left?
John, Glad DW was ok hope the van isn't too bad off.
JRKaren-Wow big family gathering at your house. Your mom is gonna be smiling down happy as can be to see you all together. I know my dad will be with us. It's hard not to miss him most this time of year.
Lily, slow down woman you wear me out, LOL! But what great exercise all that snow moving is, huh? Getting ready for the intervention?
Caroline Good luck with all that college stuff you got going on. And you don't need to read the Unfortunate events books to see the movie.
Sherry beautiful snow pics. Boys all excited and ready for Santa? Mine keeps asking questions about the presents Santa is bringing: Is it green? Does it have to be plugged in? etc..........
Suzanne and Karen-Hope you are both feeling better. As well as Deena's bunch. Not fun to be icky let alone for the holidays.
Tina How's the DD's boyfriend? LOL
Ok, I just know I'm missing someone but, this is one VERY long post I know.
(Sorry Todd) That's who I missed Amanda and Todd. So sweet Todd made you stay home with all that crazy weather you are having. Hope you all have a wonderful time next week. Watch out for two crazy women that I hear will be on the loose. Run.................
Ok, I have to get my rear in gear and wrap some presents. Put it off to the last minute.
First I want you all to know how very lucky I was to find you all! I have enjoyed every minute of my DIS time. I was truly blessed with some wonderful new friends when I found this home (even tho' we move all the time ;))The past year has been very challenging for me and without you all I don't know that I would be at the point I am now. I truly love each and every one of you and wish for you a happy, joyful blessed Holiday!
Luv ya!

Beth I am so happy for you!!!! That is so wonderful!!! Have a wonderful time with Liz.

Getting ready to eat dinner here. I should be at church but Im not allowed to go. Sigh..... I feel like I've ruined Christmas yet again.
