Howdy, all.

It's brisk here this morning-but this is early October weather to me. The weatherman last night was talking about the 'hard freeze' and protecting those plants, and it was 35 degrees! Geez, Louise, what wimps, lol!

Had my one shindig this am. The Media Center at Kevin's school had the Volunteer Thank You Breakfast. It was nice to meet some of the other people who help out there.

Pam, see above about the weather. Because it's so much warmer here, the kids didn't really think Christmas was all that close. We got the tree, and until it gets put up tomorrow night, they've been thinking mommy and daddy are a little nutsy coo coo with the talking about Christmas!

Welcome, Beams of Light. This is a great family right here on the Dis-I jumped in about two years ago, thanks to Bethie! Wait until we get to do the next exchange, and you'll see what fun things our sistahs can send you! :)

Anywho, if I get out to work now, perhaps I can go grab those teacher gifts. I'm getting off easy this year, Neil doesn't have 8 people working with him daily. Then again, I'd cook them a big lunch and they'd be happy! I like the fact that I don't have to do teachers and daycare, though!

Suzanne

oooohhh, thanks for posting the Beast pics!! Those goofy ears look like I have my long hair back!!! I guess I should have picked the mickey ears or the tree hat!
tara

Okay, y'all just had too much fun at JellyRolls; thanks for linking the album Lily!

Dating myself? Heck, I had to, no one else would go out with me...oh, you meant with the concert. Does it help if I say it was a friend's parents who dropped off several of us young teens (not yet driving age) at the concert? ;)

Amanda, I'm glad the work party went well. I'll have to ask about Dixie chili though.

I went home a few minutes ago to see if Rebecca had indeed found the stone from her engagement ring or not. She realized it was missing last night and was worried sick. She found it in the carpet this morning and couldn't wait for me to come home and let her know if that was it or not.

Anyway, I saw she had a crock pot of chili going for supper...yum!

Hi'ya YaYas!!

Sigh. Why do we get in snarky moods with no reason? I hate that. I don't like being the resident PITA. If I'm not careful, Santa won't bring me my lifesize cutout of Aragorn! :guilty:

Welcome Snowark! YaYa land is a wonderful place. Pull up a chair and stay awhile! ....and BeamsofLight, we're thrilled to have you as well! Welcome to our little corner of the CB! :cloud9:

Lots o' YaYa/MickeyWorld pics! Yay!! You all look great!! It's great to see some of your good looking faces again and those of you I hadn't seen yet... it's wonderful to have a face to put with the name! Looks like ya'll had a wonderful time!

Karen, your sig pic looks great! So those are "your guys"? Yay!

Alan, you have a beautiful family! Your girls are just adorable!

When did I become a Dis Cast Member? Hmmm...

Nursing until college.... snork snork!!

Pammy Poo... awwww come on...but but... I only do good things to cabana boys!

Tara, I'm sorry to hear your wrists are hurting. The mousing sometimes makes my arm and shoulder hurt. Bleh.

Nancy, I've been keeping Gavin in my thoughts and prayers. Poor guy. Such a horrible thing to go through!

Bethie, thank you so much for keeping all of us in your prayers. You are such a sweet lady.

E feels sorta snarky too today? Nuts. :guilty: Sigh. Hugs and all that mushy stuff to ya kiddo. ;)

Watch any of THE DVD yet Elaine? We watched the movie yesterday afternoon and... last night... and into the weeeee hours of the morning. Whew! Long one! Yay! We also watched the Making of ROTK portion on the Appendices disc two. Cute cute! Sigh/swoon.

Suzanne's slab is poured!? Wahoo! Weather. Alas, it isn't exactly Christmasy here either. Anyone know how to do a YaYa Nekkid Snow Dance or anything?

Liz's car troubles are beginning to look up?! This is wonderful news! Yay Liz!

Alan, I do hope it's the stone from Rebecca's ring!! Ack! Losing that would be so awful!

Don't worry Pammy. Boo and I will uphold the tradition of setting off smoke alarms and smooshing burnt ground round so that you'll know you're still in YaYa land. ;)

How was the work related Christmas party Boo?

Nancy confetti.... I peeked this time too.

Ooooh! Boos and cheetos on whoever planned that Christmas party, Nancy? What were they thinking?

Beanie was here!! Come back! I plan to pelt Elaine with greenies in an attempt to exorcise the snarkies! Wanna help?

Waves to Kristy, Suzanne, Liz, Alan, Tara, Deena, Kimmar, Lily, Sherry... ummm ummm... gosh there's a lot of YaYas these days! Must start keeping a cheat sheet of names!

Cardiologist appt. today. Yawn. I'd rather go Christmas shopping.

Kim, I hope it was Diane telling you about the Segway tour... if not, Bernie might have been accusing me of almost running into things ;) If you get a chance to do the tour, I say you should do it! Best thing I've ever done there!

Tara, hope your wrists feel better soon. I admit I wear I brace quite often on my right hand for my troubles. Oh and htat wasn't a very short ketchup there ;)

Suzanne, heard about some of those "cold" temps... I'd kill for those right now!

Alan, you did kind of leave out about if it was the stone or not... since I read elsewhere (angels) that it was, I'll say I am glad (again) it was found.

Yep, Kimmie, not such a good day. It's just the day and nothing else really. It shouldn't bug me so much, but it does.
Nope, no watching of ROTK yet :( Too busy at the moment. If my family wants to watch it sometime, I am sure we will, otherwise it will have to wait for us to go on vacation.
Btw, they changed the tag system... no more DIS Vets and all that... they are cute now.

Oh, I *finally* looked at the pics... oh how I wish I could've been there!

Whoops..I did leave out that detail didn't I? I got so caught up on the chili... :teeth:

Yes, it was the stone. I suspect we will be having that repaired soon. ;)

YOU inspired me to start a NEW THREAD!! :p :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Yep, and I responded to it when I saw you "call me out" on it. That was before I saw you post here. ::yes::

Could I ask y'all to please send up lots of prayers, good vibes, and PD for my SIL(Junior's twin who is pregnant)? She is having an emergency ultrasound right now, as her bloodwork came back abnormal and they are checking to see what is wrong. I am a nervous wreck right now.
Thanks so much.

Afternoon......pictures, I missed the picture link. I must go back and look.

Lily...skip the Minted Snowballs ...they were only okay. Kind of boring. If I did them again, I would add crushed candy canes to pep them up.

Almost had a disaster. M'Cori finally opened her e-mail to verify their flight next week, to find out their return flight was listed as the 30th instead of the 1st!! :(
I have Lion King tickets for the 30th.....Geoff knew about that, so they have to pay extra $$ to change to the first :( Airlines claims, it was her fault and if she had changed earlier, it would have been different. :( Bit now they get to stay to see it.
Cake testing on the 24th....Merry Christmas.

Off to check those pictures.

Damn I hate it when that happens :smooth:

Alan, that must be some *really* good chili there!!!

Sherry, thinking very good thoughts for your SIL... I will keep them in my prayers.

Nancy, shame about the flight,b ut I am glad they have it all worked out okay. That is always one of my biggest fears when I book a flight (the wrong day is listed)

Sitting here at my computer at a weird angle... I am afraid of a stupid dead creepy crawly and Luis won't be home for a long time to take care of it :(

lol, it's dead... they won't touch it if it isn't moving

And I admit, I got all shakey and went downstairs with my laptop to avoid it all :rolleyes1

Just a quick hello everyone! I'm beat from another crazy day at work. Did another hour of OT, and I'm going to have to work on Saturday. I like the OT checks. I like the OT checks.

Sherry, sending out good thoughts and prayers for your SIL. Keep us updated.

Have a great night, everyone!

JellyrollsKaren

Lots of prayers for your sil Sherry. I hope everything is okay. And where have I been?? I didnt know Junior was a twin.
Elaine scoop it on a piece of paper and flush it down the toilet.
Nancy good thing they finally discovered the dates on the tickets, to bed they had to pay extra to get it fixed.

Thanks for the prayers.
SIL & BIL stopped by with sonogram pics. The dr. on call and the technician said everything looked fine. Her OB/GYN will check them, also. SIL said the heartbeat and everything was good. Thank God. And, its a BOY!! :bounce:

LOL, Deena, yup, Junior is a twin. ::yes::

Sorry for the driveby postie, but I'm dead tired and thought I would let you know that I arrived home safe and sound at 5:30AM today. I left WDW at 10AM, stopped in Greenville SC for a couple of hours to have dinner with my former neighbor, then pointed the minivan northward. When I crossed the North Carolina/Virginia line, the outside temp was 32 degrees. Within 10 minutes, the temp dropped to 20 degrees and it started to snow. I followed a Virginia DOT salt truck for a few miles, then struck out on my own. Thankfully the snow let up in short order. By the time I got to the first toll booth on the West Virginia Turnpike, the outside temp had dropped to 16 degrees. Yikes. I hated to stop for gasoline, but the cold air kept me awake. I hit the Ohio line at 2AM and pulled into my driveway at 5:30AM. I took a one hour nap, then Sue and I headed south in the van to visit her aunt and uncle in Newark. During the 5 hour roundtrip, I managed to catch a few more Zzzzz's.

Needless to say, I'm glad to be home. I'm off to work tomorrow. And off to bed right now.

Crap... I thought my brother was coming in late Friday night... now he'll be in early in the afternoon... I thought I had all that time to clean & shop... oops.

Karen, don't work so hard ;)

Deena, I am such a wuss I couldn't get any closer than 1 foot too it w/o freaking out about it. Don't ask... I'm pathetic...

Sherry, glad to hear the good news!

Welcome home John!!! Glad you made it safely through the snow and icky weather!

Evening Ya Yas!

I want to ride along on that magnificent ketchup, it has taken my breath away. What a great job all those who went before me.

I just got home. It has been a long day. Snarky things here too. Must be the ozone. I know it all starts with the week before the full moon and continues until the full moon, but this seems like it is starting a wee bit early. Sheesh!

Nancy, Thanks for the warning on the peppermint cookies. I'll hafta stop the order from our resident baker. She will just have to move on to the next on the list.

JRKaren, hope you aren't going to be too overworked. Stay well.

Sherry I am so glad it is all ok with SIL and a boy too! How great to know.

John, glad you made it home. My it was a lot of late night driving. Sleep well. I would probably need to sleep for a week to get back on track.

Alan, glad to hear the good news about the stone, oh and the chili too...I like chili!

Amanda, hope your holiday stuff is easing up now so you can enjoy your family during this time. Thinking of you and family.

Hey Todd.

I am receiving cards. I will thank you all collectively just now and do a better job later.
Elaine, well I guess you shouldn't worry too much about cleaning your house. You have done a good job. Take it easy so you can enjoy your borther instead. I understand about the creepy crawly things and critters. I always run the other way. I still ask someone else to handle the dispatching part. I usually try to save them all and set them free.
:earseek:
That is why I claim to be the protector of the critters that Pammy wants to use in her roadkill stew.

Everyone, Newbies, stay a while and welcome!

My boss was off sick today. I am hoping that she will be better and come in tomorrow. We are supposed to go to a local restaurant for a Christmas lunch with some others and if she is not here, I want to postpone it. I had the dentist today, then dinner, exercise at the gym, and then the dreaded grocery store. Whew! I am quite tired, it has been a long day.

I hope tomorrow goes a little less filled. Sleep well.
