Hey Pam! You calling me a bad girl?

I've only been to Macaroni Grill once. Food was yummy. I prefer Carrabbas, though. :teeth:

Thanks for the nice comments on my boys. :)
LOL, Deena. Julian is my wild child. :teeth:

Afternoon everyone! :)

Ok, I'm going to attempt something in the nature of ketchup. It may come out as some other condiment (mustard, perhaps), but it is my first attempt. ;)

Sherry - That picture of your boys is really cute. Are any of them twins? Maybe it's just the shirts playing tricks on me. heehee

Elaine, thanks so much for the big list o' names. I am definitely printing out a cheat sheet. I think I'll add YaYa terminology too, as I pick it up. ;) I did have fun at the party. It was actually the 2nd work Christmas party I had - one is our company-wide one (we call that the prom) and this one was just my work group. People in our group are all roughly the same age and level of craziness, so it was a lot of fun. We also continued it at a local pub afterwards .. :drinking1 Good times. I'm with you on the spider issue, btw. Spiders larger than a dime are the responsibility of my husband.

Caroline, do be afraid of the nekkid ritual dance. You will be pestered and harrassed until you are publicly humiliated.

Pestered and harrassed until I'm publicly humiliated, huh? Sounds like a good time to me!

Pam - Thanks for the cheat sheet idea (and for inspiring Elaine to type one up, heehee). Congrats to your DD on her A. That's great! Fortunately our tree is on a table so the ferrets can't get to it - otherwise I'd have the same ornament problem. :(

Amanda and Beth - Thanks for the name encouragement. Hopefully with cheat sheet in hand, I'll be up to speed soon.

Kimmie - Hope you're feeling better. Neck/shoulder pain is lousy. We have that LoTR set on our wish list too .. hope Santa comes through for me!

Tara - Macaroni Grill sounds yummy. We don't have those here, but now I'm eyeing macaroni for lunch. ;)

Ok, there's probably been more posts since I started, but I have to get back to work now. I've given these grad school applications enough time - apparently they really *aren't* going to submit themselves. ;) Thanks for the warm welcome! Talk to everyone later. :wave2:

Thanks, Caroline. :) Nope, no twins. They are all carbon copies of each other, though. :teeth:
BTW, welcome! :)

I wonder what is with the youngests turning into the "wild child" :p

Caroline, glad you had fun with the party for work! So nice you get those! (If you read enough you'll find out how much I love my company I work for ;)) However, the size of a dime???? That's awfully large isn't it? :faint: :p
I'll be all nosey again and ask what are you going to Grad School for? (no smart remarks from y'all please)

This day is going way too slow for me... 45 minutes to go

Hi all

To all having cold weather and snow you are more than welcome to come here. It is a balmy seventy degrees here. It gets a little chilly at night but, I think it is perfect weather. I do not miss the cold or the snow. After living in Alaska I have had enough of it.

We do not have a Macaroni Grill here. Just got a Johnny Corinos and it is not bad. We are suppose to get an Olive Garden next year.

Liz I hope your car is finally fixed.

Elaine I was afraid of bugs at one time but, now that we live in the desert I am getting pretty good at killing anything that crawls.

Sherry love the picture of your boys. Am hoping to get Jessica's pictures done soon.

Nancy I am going to try and make some of your cookies next week. They all sound soo good.

Had Jessica's christmas recital for school choir on Tuesday night. It was a good concert but they did not sing any christmas songs. Was kind of strange.

Hi Tina  Be sure to stay away from the nut free thread. There may be some allergic over there :teeth:

Hi there Ya Yas!
Tara was playing with the coloring book I see.
Sherry, I get those handsome youngsters out of whack. I couldn't even begin to name them, even though I had the pleasure of meeting one of the J's at that pin meet. I am so pathetic when it comes to names/faces. (I need a cheat sheet for that)
Caroline, you are so Ya Ya! ::yes:: grad school huh, sounds like oh so fun! Yes, ya best get the aps sent then.
Tina, glad you had a good time at her concert. As I have said often, I really enjoyed going to those when my 2 were in school. Sigh, I do miss that time.
Deena, :rotfl: now that must be the reason I haven't opened that thread.

Our lunch was filling, I ate way more than I have been of late and I am still not hungry. I enjoyed a roast beef sandwich and fries and ate all of it! I couldn't stop myself.
:earseek:
Off to see what I can do for tonight.
Later all...

Hey ya-yas!
what are we doing wayyyyy over here on page 2?

anyways, I have an update on my family :)
my dad was able to come home Tuesday. We set up a hospital bed for him in the living room. He's still in a lot of pain, but he's better. He like to cruise around the house in his wheel chair...
My brother is doing a lot better. He's going to go to school for a little while monday to catch up on some things...but then he's not going back until after vacation.
My step-mom is doing better- but she really needs to see the doctors again because there's something wrong with one of the cuts they stitched and her left hand is still very swollen.

thanks to everyone for your prayers! It means a lot to me and my family :)

well...i guess i can do more homework now :(
maybe i'll work on mock trial...no better yet i think i'll watch t.v. :)

'night ya-yas

<3 manda

Glad to hear your family is getting better. I cant imagine how hard it was for all of you. Just know we are keeping your family in our prayers.

Hi y'all... had choir practice tonight for Christmas services. Luis and I will be doing the 5:30 and the midnight masses. If I didn't have mashed potatoes to start at 11 or so, I would go to the 10 am mass that morning as well. Luis will be though :teeth:

Bad thing is I am still very stuffy from the trip/cold weather. Not a cold, but annoying

Tina, I love the Olive Garden! Definitely worth trying out when they open! And trust me if the bugs have more or less than 8 legs, I can squish them w/o a problem. It is just one type that gets to me :o

Nut free thread??? Now I am curious ::yes::

Manda, glad to hear that everyone seems to be doing a bit better. You all remain in my prayers.

Luis put up lights tonight... and we decided that as soon as the after Christmas sales hit, we are buying a few more sets... this one has had it, but it will do for a week or so!

Manda, glad to hear your news. It is good that the family can begin healing. Hope it continues in a positive way. Prayers being said for all.

Elaine, that is a ton of singing. Whew! I guess it is not like working when you like it however. Me, I can't get any of the creatures dispatched easily. I just can't seem to do it. Eyyyewww.

Watching the Apprentice. I didn't really watch all that much of it this season. I thought it was kinda dumb this time around. I just wanted to watch the end of season. Put a load of towels in and off to watch the ending.

Good night all.

I bet they are adprable in their Christmas pretties!! Glad to see you and Lainey are getting along ...........she really should have grounded you or something for treating Antonio as you did while she was away!!!!

Suzanne, I saw a new topper on Ebay!!! I am hoping they have them in the World!! The one I saw was from Disneyland. It was the cutest little Stich wearing a santa hat. Should you see that one, can you grab me one or two? I would greatly appreciate it!! Actually, sign me up for any of the new ones that you happen to see, if you don't mind!!!

Mr.Incredible.....where have you been? Miss you popping in to say hello!!

Boo, how are things with you? How is your holiday baking coming along? Hope your gookies are turning out just fine. Nothing like a nice aged gookie!!!

Kimmy, Kama, Kristy, SnowArk, Krista, Kathy, and everybody else I know I am missing......

Well, that is all I have for now!! Not much going in here! I have LOTS of laundry to do, as well as a kitchen to clean tomorrow. I might actually find the floor of the bathroom even!! I HATE housework!! I really think I NEED to win the lottery just so I don't have to clean. That is so not my specialty!!!! Oh well, off to bed for me so I have LOTS of energy to clean this messy house!!

Nighty night!!

Evening Ya Yas!

Just finished watching the end of The Apprentice. I didn't find the ending particularly surprising but honestly, I don't think I'd want to work with any of those people.

Elaine, my parents' house always had spiders everywhere, so growing up my room always had little ones in it. If I hadn't learned to cope with the small guys, I would have been 'relocating' them non-stop. All bets are off if they're furry though. :scared1: No worries about being 'nosey' (which I don't think you were - heh). I'm planning to start working on my PhD next year in atmospheric science. I've been working as a meteorologist since I finished school a few years ago, but I think I'll always be the book-type, so more schoolin' is probably unavoidable. Contingent on schools accepting me, of course! :rotfl: Sounds like you guys have a lot of choir-ing on tap .. that must be lots of fun. :)

Tina - Nice to meet you. :) 70 degrees sounds wonderful, although I would imagine you earned it living in Alaska.

Lily - Glad to know I qualify for Ya Ya-ness. I have 2 applications still giving me grief. Hopefully I'll be finished with them before bed. Could be a long night though.

Amanda - Hi there. :) I read about your family's accident in my Ya Ya background research. Glad to hear they're on the mend. All the best to you.

Liz - Thanks for the welcome. Nice to meet you too. :)

Ok, must get back to my 'statement of purpose'. Who knew it would be so hard writing an essay who's purpose is to say 'hey, I'm sooooo good - accept me!' (Of course, my husband is stuck cleaning up so I can concentrate .. I guess I could have it worse. ;) ) Wish me luck!

:wave2:
Computer problems.....my computer is down. On a SLOW OLD one, so might not be around much until we do something about it :(
I have been trying to read mail and answer PMs for 2 hours and this is the first thread I have gotten to.......waa!!

But..Sherry, very nice picture.
Welcome home John.
Caroline, nice to see you here so often.....we must organize that dance soon ;)
Lily...thank you for the card :)

We have a Macaroni Grill due to open at the "big" mall any time now.
I don't care for Olive Garden except for their salad, soups and breadsticks.
I made it to Cheesecake Facorty today :bounce: It was VER yummy! My friend and I were afraid we wouldn't be able to eat our cheesecake so we split an entree and split 2 slices of cake :teeth: Soooooo.......good!! Pumpkin Pecan and Chocolate Peanut Butter.....that place will be a tradition for us now on our yearly downtown Christmas trips!
But....it doesn't work for a rehearsal dinner....so back to the drawing board on that.

Tired.....must sleep.
I will try to check in tomorrow. But have baking and then that exciting Christmas party  to go to.

Morning!

Sorry to hear about your computer problems, Nancy.

LOL, Lily. Even I mess up my boys names sometimes. :teeth: That is Jonathan on his stomach (he's the one you met! ;) ), Jordan on the left, Julian at the top, and Jared on the right. :)

Gotta go wake the boys!!

:wave2:

Good morning everyone!

I work right across the street from a Cheesecake Factory, and it's one of my favorite restaurants. The menu is huge (you know the menu at a restaurant is big when there are ads in it). I tend to stick with the same six or seven dishes when I go though. I rarely get the cheesecake, but I really like the dulce du leche (I probably butchered that word), the brownie sundae, and the fresh banana cheesecakes. Yum. Oh, and the Boston Cream.

I also like the Olive Garden. The food is very good for a chain (although not as good as most small Italian restaurants I've been to). I look at the Olive Garden as a place where I know I can get a good meal no matter where I travel, and sometimes you need a familiar name when you travel.

Two other chains that I really like are P.F. Changs for Chinese, and Chevy's for Mexican.

Now I'm hungry. I may have to order from the Cheesecake Factory for lunch today. Yum.

JellyrollsKaren

Mmmm Cheesecake Factory, Mmmmm Carabas, Mmmmm Olive Garden, Mmmmm cookies!

Where's that intervention program? Help!

Good morning all! Very tired today... hopefully I'll get a little more sleep this weekend.

Yep, Lily, that is a lot of singing, but I like doing it a couple times a year. I don't think midnight mass is near as bad as the Easter Vigil Mass though. I might go to the practice on Tuesday night, but I was told it is optional. In the mean time we were told not to get sick and to rest our voices. Our poor choir director is stressed though. At least these are all songs we know fairly well ::yes::

Hey that's a great idea!!!! Oh Alan.... come here... we need to talk :p

Caroline, I really admire those who can go that far into their education! I nearly quit with my undergrad and am thankful that I will never have to go back! Good luck with it all!

Nancy, so sorry about your computer :( I hope it can get fixed soon!!! Glad you enjoyed the cheesecake Factory. I need to go back to one sometime around here.

Sherry, now I feel better about your boys' names. I had to write them all down one time so I wouldn't forget :o

Like Karen, this food talk is making me hungry!!! And starting to night, I am sure we'll be eating more. Always happens when my brother is in town. My dad and brother both like to eat well!

Going to skip a real breakfast and have a nice cold Coke (caffeine!!!!) instead :teeth:

Have pondered this post for a bit. Here it is:
My first concert as Ed Sullivan would introduce them
Ladies and Gentlemen.........
.
.
.
.
.
.
THE BEATLES!

Makes me not only feel old, I am old! :teeth:

All this food talk is making me hungry. We have a CF about an hour away but haven't tried it yet. My mom said she may take me for my b-day, though. :bounce: :bounce:

Today is the boy's last day and then they are off for 2 weeks. YAY! I get to sleep in and no more making lunches. :bounce: :bounce:
