I know you guys like it, but I am not a fan, too expensive for what I think is pretty lousy food. I really like Melting Pot, though - I wish we had one near me.

Have fun!

Not sure what restaraunt you are talking about in the first half of your post, but, yes Melting pot is overpriced, yes, you have to do your own cooking, but the dessert is worth it. I also love the cheese.....

Oh, DW loves the Salad there. There are better places...

Hi guys,
What an scary day! We found out about the terror attacks at morning break when the office staff read it on the internet. My assistant immediately phoned her brother who is a London bus driver and her SIL who works at Kings Cross. Her SIL wasn't at work when the attack happened but she phoned up as soon as she heard. Aparently the whole building shook and they went on to terror allert straight away. Her brothers bus was called straight back to the depot.
It really brought it home to me. Having been to the place this happened and having travelled along the section of underground line many times is quite scary.
But London is a tough place and it will survive.

Work today was good, I only had 13 kids in my room as most were visiting their school they are moving to next year. Tomorrow more of them are out so I will only have 9 kids all day!! I did see some of my class this evening though as we had the school play again which went really well. I feel really sorry for one of my boys though. He went to his new school today with many of the rest of my class. Obviously they mixed with children from other schools. The boy is a Sikh and so wears a turban. At our school the kids have known him all their lives and they do not see hime as any different to anyone else and they respect his religion. However today a child from another school pulled his turban off which to him is extremily disrespectful and he became extremily distressed. Some of my class were with him and stuck up for him and took care of him. I am really worried about him now as he has to go back there tomorrow.

Sorry to be so low lately, I hope everyone else is feeling well.

Good morning!!

Danauk - You were in my thoughts all day yesterday. When I came home from work I checked in here to see if you wrote in, but I didn't have a chance to write because I had some people over - I'm so glad that you, your family and friends are all okay. Take care of yourself!!!

NC Belle - Happy Anniversary!!

I hope everyone has a good day today - Talk to you all later!!

slo

Good morning all. Danauk I've been thinking of you so much. PD to you and yours there in England. Keep us informed.

It is amazing some of the cultural differences that this brings to focus...

Pardon a little politicizing, but the president made a good point when he commented that they were having a summit to help rid the world of poverty, and to help the environment, and these people are bent on creating poverty and destroying the envirnment. It is a sad state of affairs.

Also, Look at how Spain handled an attack vs England. Like the US, it has increased the British resolve. I think it helped Tony Blair more than hurt him....

OK, no more politics, let's have breakfast... Do you think CP will still deliver? I could use some Breakfast Lasagne...

:jumping2:

Good morning everyone!

First and foremost, Danauk, tons of PD to you and your country. Wow... what else can I say?

On a brighter note (somewhat...) I saw "War of the Worlds" yesterday. Great special effects, but the movie wasn't all that great. I only payed 2 dollars for it (I had a coupon) and I'm glad I didn't spend any more.

Tonight I get to go to a drive-in theatre! A girl from the mission trip I went on invited all of us to go. It should be a blast! Afterwards I'm spending the night at one of my new friend's house and then we're going to go shopping, so more fun!

Have a great day!

And yet again you check in and I haven't regailed you my account. I am sooooooooooooo buried at work right now. I swear I will tell my story soon.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Thanks for the PD guys.
Work today was great for the most part. I had my new class for an hour and the seem a nice bunch. There are not the behaviour issues that we had this year in it but there are a lot of children with learning problems which will be hard work getting them ready for their exams.

Oh well it is finally the weekend and I sure am glad. A few of the guys from work are going out this evening, but I'm just not in the mood to join them. Instead I will have an evening in on my own as Pete is out at the theatre playing for a show.

Hey DHS, I thought that they closed all of the drive-ins around here.....

Storm Dennis is ALMOST a category 5 storm... PD to everyone in it's wake....

OK, I had a meeting with Dr. BabyProofer. OK, he had already started. This man was an emergency nurse, and his hobby was to document why things happened to children. He decided he would much rather keep children from being hurt than have to help them in the ER. He opened up a shop, and does an 80 point check up. Our house isn't the worst, but it will be about $3,000. TagBabyIan is worth it. He is actually at Play Group now, and is going to return to his manor shortly.....

There's one just north of Ennis. It's gonna be a long drive, but hey, the only drive-in I've been to is the Sci-Fi Dine-In at MGM! Should be interesting!

Man... the first time I heard of Dennis, the first thought to my mind was Dennisd the Menace. I wonder if that name jinxed it? All kidding aside, PD to all in it's path and wake. I wonder if my relatives that live in and around New Orleans will move...

Danauk, glad to hear that your class is better this year! I'm sure you'll be able to get them ready for their exams!

Castlegazer, I hope you get unburied at work! Just think, your cruise is less than 300 days away! ;)

Everyone have a wonderful day! :wave2:

PS: Does anyone know what "Enhanced Mode" is? When you do the regular reply, you can either do the "Guided Mode" or "Enhanced Mode". What is the difference?

:earseek: You guys are nuts!!!!!! That's all I have to say.

castlegazer, castlegazer, castlegazer, he needs his playgroup...

Seriously, my house was not designed with children in mind. He is going to take about 26 hours worth of work. Windows all need special locks, cabinets, furniture, freezer, etc.

The padding on his bed (while beautiful) could be made into a ramp so he could climb out and fall to the floor... The outlet covers I have ("Safety First" is neither) jam frequently. Mainly we have lots of drawers and cabinets. We also have a stairway that the spacing is wide enough for him to fit through. we are getting a mrsh curtain and gates.

He is now at playgroup, and he is the oldest one there.....

Stairs do freak me out. We only recently began letting my son climb the stairs on his own without being carried and he is three. We had gates everywhere.

Guess what I have to now deal with with Catrina? My son loves anything tiny and little - i.e. tiny erasers, tiny lego pieces - even smaller than normal legos. He is a total constructin toy freak, so we have tons of pieces of legos, miniature tinker toys (cause the big ones are too easy for him), and everything you can imagine, laying all around the house. I am completely freaked as Catrina is beginning to try and crawl.

Its like that ad, you live and learn and then get Luvs - well, we live and learn and you begin to adjust your life to everything baby. Its pretty easy once you identify what is the hot spots.

We still have the lock on our fireplace screen door. I am also freaked out by tall furniture like bookcases, but the locking mechanisms are still in their cases as my son turned out to not be a climber at all.

OK, back to the grind. Its really ridiculous today. I have a huge approval meting on Monday.

By the way, all my baby proofing cost maybe max $100. I admit putting the mesh on the banister is costly, but there are several in many baby catalogs that are not that bad in price. I don't want to see you guys getting hosed for this. Its important, but should not cost that much money. Its also a learning process, some things you may not need due to how Ian is and some things you may find you need but that didn't come up in the inspection.

I know about different pricing and different brands. When you look at the difference between the different ones (sisde by side) you can tell the quality. I spent more than $100 at BRU for plug covers (just for a few rooms). We are taking them all back. I also want it not to show, so professional installation is about half of the cost. He may not be cheap, but he will do a first class job. He is also anchoring book cases to the walls, installing Toilet seat locks and other stuff. RRBB might let me post some of his 80 point inspection. She might even post pictures...

Our stove now has a guard on it too....

:jumping2:

OK - I am off into the tropical storm weather. Have a nice weekend everyone.
