Weird and Ninja’s Pre-Disneymoon [Completed!]

I never spend much time in Imagination, so it was great to see your pics. Weeble Wobble is so cute, aww!

Hahah I'm the same way, I don't like talking on the phone much, either. And now that cell phones exist, I can't stand having a heated-up phone up against my ear! I much prefer to talk to someone in person. If not then IMs or e-mails would do.

Woo hoo, out of the Seas! I like Figment! We hopped in there our last trip after Honey, I Shrunk the Audience-- I think we would have thought anything was a step up from that awful, outdatd Kodak commercial!

Haha, that's why we avoided HISTA! We hated being squished in that room with the slanted floor that made it hard to stand and just WAITING while watching the repetitive Kodak stuff! Oy! After that last trip, we decided we'd never do it again. Wish I were there now to watch Captain EO again though!

Haha you forgot to mention that as your parents were talking to that family, you stood there and snapped pics of your feet and the floor! Those are such great pictures

That's so funny how we took the same pictures! I didn't realize you were such an architectural photographer ;)

I just looked it up, his name is Weebo! Close one with your guesses though.

I really love your updates. If I didn't have pictures to reference, I don't think I'd remember what was coming up next! You know what that means, right? We gotta go back!!

That's later! Haha, I thought that was at that time too, but it's after the Imagination Pavilion. I had to search the emails for the collage you made, but I found it!

Haha, there we go! Weebo! I knew it was something like that.

Yes please. Let's go back! Stacikristine said she'd help us with renting points! We gotta! Plus, saving money by possibly putting off getting the stuff like the Kivik couch will allow us more money for our honeymoond :D

If you liked Season 1, just wait--they get so much better!!! 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8 are the best--7 is the absolute best! :thumbsup2 I know what you mean...we'd have to take breaks in-between each season bc we'd watch it like crazy people once we started one.

They have all of Season 5 of LOST on Hulu now...just not Season 6. We watched the first episode of 5 last night.

Yeah, having the episodes online is great! Did I tell you we're going to start a new show in the fall? It's called The Event. http://www.nbc.com/the-event/ It looks really good--and we'll be able to watch it from the start!

Thanks! I love my hipster. :goodvibes Hehe...I thought you were talking about matching shirts and pants and stuff. We do that with the color coordinating thing sometimes too. We always do it with our "Easter clothes". Our first year I had a purple dress and he had a green shirt with that color purple in some of the stripes. And this last year I had a flowery dress with some black in it, and he had a black shirt. It makes for good pictures!

Yep--I love seeing all of the different brides and grooms' tastes! It'll be fun to see what you and Howard choose!

I'd love to help yall price it out! Did I tell you that I want to look into doing travel agent stuff wherever we move? I just love helping people plan vacations! Let me know when yall have more info!

And your update was great! I love the Imagination pavilion too--the building is just so neat! That's cute that Weird has taught you how to appreciate buildings. I was always the same way about my ponytail--I would get so mad if someone messed it up! My dad would do it just to tick me off. :headache: That should be a tip in "Being a Character 101". hehe.

The only thing that I don't like 24 is that I get TOO into it and I actually get very scared! Strangely, the terrorist stuff is not what scares me. I figure that stuff is going on in the world right now, but it's not something we know about. However, the stuff that scared me during season 1 was when Teri and Kim were kidnapped because it was ... real, you know? Not that the assassination stuff isn't real, but this is stuff that could directly affect me as in it could actually happen to me! And with season 2, the stuff with the abusive father is frightening too! Haha, on top of the fact that the guy was one of Lorelai's boyfriends on Gilmore Girls ...

I'll have to look into The Event. There aren't many shows on these days that come out with new episodes to watch. I mean, if LOST is over, 24 is over, Gilmore Girls is over (haha, for a while now, I know), and Steve Carrell is leaving The Office ... I mean ... oy. Oh wait, there's 30 Rock! I love that.

I know that some people are dressed entirely matchy-matchy for engagement photos or family photos. I think it's too much. Although I admit, I think it's cute when mother and daughter (as in really young daughter!) wear almost the same thing. Haha, it makes me giggle inwardly!

Ooo, travel agent stuff would be fun for you if you love doing vacations! My aunt is a travel agent out of her home. She's always done it on the side of whatever job she had. That's why when my cousins went to Boston to visit another cousin on a road trip, we asked her to book the rooms for us to get us a better rate!

Haha, I like the "Being a Character 101" thing!

I haven't done Figment yet. In fact, I always look over the Imaginiation pavillion. However, Epcot really isn't my favorite, so I just like to hit the highlights and keep on going.

I love the little things that you guys keep taking pictures of and I like how we can compare your pic with Weird's pic. Very neat! :thumbsup2

Epcot wasn't my favorite either, but I've grown to love it. I think that Animal Kingdom is my least favorite, but I've only been there once. I just feel like, okay, I can see animals at the zoo. But I think I should get back there before I really say that it's my least favorite. Oh well, guess I gotta go back to Disney World! Hehe.

I told Weird that he wasn't allowed to take pics in certain places (ex. dark rides in Fantasyland) because I wanted him to enjoy things with me instead of just take pics and see it through the lens. Haha, but we both can't help it. We love taking pics even if it is of the same thing!

It's amazing how detailed their queue is, but because no one's ever really there, no one gets to take the time to appreciate it!

I always have to say, "What?" when talking on the cell phones. I don't know if I just don't hold it correctly to my ear or what. I just don't like it! I agree with you ... either talk to me in person or online! I know people say that phones are better because you hear the person's voice, but I don't see why it's any better than talking online. I'd rather have the webcam on instead!

Monday, April 5: Creeper Moon

Moving on to the next room, we saw 3 wacky scientists who won the Inventor of the Year Award.

IMG_1347.jpg

When I was younger, Wayne Szalinski was just so cool. Haha. I know I really enjoyed the movies as a kid even though it did get me nervous when the shrunken kids were stuck in the yard! I think the part I hated the most was when one of the kids was stuck in the bowl of Cheerios and was about to be eaten!

IMG_6546.jpg

I never actually saw Flubber, so I can't comment on this. I know that I did want to get a Flubber toy from whichever fast food restaurant had it, but I didn't.

IMG_6547.jpg

The last guy on the wall is Nigel Channing. What a name. Nigel. This is such a "I have a British accent" kind of name.

IMG_6548.jpg

We zoomed through the rest of the line. That was only expected because we were in my dad. He doesn't take the time to enjoy really much of anything at Disney.

Look! Ride vehicles! Too bad that little kid is in the picture.

IMG_1348.jpg

And too bad this one is blurry! The lady was quickly ushering us to our row so that I couldn't wait for the vehicles to stop.

IMG_6550.jpg

My dad was a little weirded out by the fact that the lady didn't let us sit in the first car. I don't think my dad remembered that the separate cars moved to face the scene so each one would have front row seats. Even so, I think it would've been fun to sit in the first car so that we could move into each scene first. I mean, we technically should have had it. It was a minor thing though, nothing huge. Just a slightly negative feeling I got from the CM when my dad asked if we could sit in the first car instead of in the last.

It was okay though; it didn't ruin our ride ... haha, or make it any better. It's still just the Figment ride! Here's my fam in the back row.

IMG_6551-1.jpg

Just a taste of what's to come.

IMG_1349.jpg

I tried taking a pic of Figment, but it was too dark and I was not about to use the flash! The part that I really liked was the butterfly in the cage! On one side, you see the butterfly and then when you move past it, it disappears! So cool! I wasn't, however, that crazy when we were in complete darkness. Hehe, had to move a little closer to Weird for that part.

IMG_6553.jpg

I remember really liking this part last time I was on this ride. I tried looking around everwhere to see the upside down Open House. I was especially interested to see what was on Figment's kitchen table! Haha, I like food. Here's the video of that section:

I knew the skunk smell was coming up, so I was prepared and had my nose plugged, but I could still smell it. I mean, I know it's not that terrible; I know there are worse smells out there. I just don't like having to smell something terrible as part of a ride!

Another part that I didn't quite appreciate was one of the scenes at the end when suddenly there's this explosion or huge puff of air in your face when the walls come down to reveal the colorful world behind it. That scared me! Immediately, Weird and I turned around to look at my mom because she HATES things like that! Too bad we forgot about it and weren't prepared! The video is what you see after that huge shock!

You'll also see another reason why I thought this ride was extremely scary. THE FACE IN THE MOON! Um, British Nigel, why must you frighten me so? Why must you be singing? And moving from side to side? Ugh. I hate faces in the moon or in the sun. I like going to craft stores to look at rubber stamps. I love making greeting cards but don't have time for it anymore especially since it means taking all the stamps, inks, embossing powders, heating tools, chalks, trays, cutting mats, blades and other instruments out of storage to lay it out (and of course, that means putting it back away!). I have a ton of stamps that I started collecting since I was maybe 6 (lots of fancy wood mounted ones and now clear ones), and although I may not do it as often now, I still look! Love them all and wish I could have them all! However, any time I see a sun or moon with a face on it, I have to point it out and go, "Who would want this?!?" Haha, I know there are people who like it; I am just not one of them!

We didn't spend that much time in the play area afterwards. I was interested in taking a pic to send home, but all the stations were taken and it just wasn't worth the wait. Plus, my dad was with us. Haha, he really is extra impatient once we step into WDW!

This stuff was cool though! I remember seeing a DISer taking a pic with her hubby as if they were flying over Magic Kingdom. This would be cute to do, but I wish they were much cheaper.

IMG_1350.jpg

Okay, so maybe I'm not that big of a fan of Figment, but I did think for a moment that I would get this t-shirt! Put a character on anything as a baby, and suddenly I love it!

IMG_6556.jpg

Okay, we were definitely skipping Honey I Shrunk the Audience ... where would we go next?

First off - I agree with Stacikristine - definitely look into renting points. We did it several times before we bought into DVC. One trip we stayed at SSR for cheaper than it would have been at the POP! Hopefully you can squeeze in a trip after all!

I used to LOVE figment when I was younger. Then again, the Dreamfinder never tried to decapitate me :rotfl:Even in High School (back when plush mini-backpacks were cool - I swear!) I had a plush figment backpack/purse I carried everywhere. But last time we went on the ride, which was the first time DH had been on it and first I had been on it since the re-remodel, I was like wha?? DH looked at me and said "you liked this? You really are weird." Now that's love :lovestruc

Can't wait to see where you go next! Could it be time for you date with a certain Super Hero to save the world?

I hate to admit it, but I am not an Imagination fan. I wish I liked it, but I don't. For me the best part of that part of Epcot is the jumping fountains outside of the pavilion!

I'm with you on being creeped out by faces in the moon or sun. Almost as scary as clowns!

The only thing that I don't like 24 is that I get TOO into it and I actually get very scared! Strangely, the terrorist stuff is not what scares me. Haha, I like the "Being a Character 101" thing!

I know what you mean. I would get SO into it too! When I start dreaming about things in the show almost every night, I know I'm sucked in. Did I tell you I almost legitimately prayed for Jack and Tony one night during season 3? I had to stop and remind myself that they're not real! :rotfl: YES--that dad is super creepy. I hate that things like that really happen.

We've talked our best friends into watching The Event too--we're all excited about it! It's starting September 20. You can watch the full trailer on the internet. It looks like LOST and 24 kinda combined...if that makes sense.

I love it when little girls and their moms dress alike too! My little sister and I are 10 years apart and when she was really little (like 5 and younger) we'd sometimes have matching shirts. We both loved it.

Did your aunt get her license or anything like that? I'm still trying to figure out how all of this stuff works. I've talked to Jenny105 a little about it (she works for a TA), but I want to find out all of the options. I just think I would LOVE it!

Figment is one of those rides that I feel like you have to do once, but it's not important to do again. It's cute, but not amazing. hehe--that burst of air startled me too! I'd forgotten about it before we rode it. We'll be skipping HISTA next time too!

haha, first of all I completely agree with you about having to work over our summer. Maybe we are spoiled as teachers since other jobs don't give you a whole couple months off but during summer school I was kind of bad about planning. OK clearly I did do lesson plans but I guess even teachers have the "it's the summer" mentality. :rolleyes1

The robot's name from Flubber is Weebo. I really wanted a Flubber toy too. LOL. I do remember I got this little stuffed magnet dude from the Disney Store. It basically looks like a green blob with arms and legs and a smile but it was actually pretty cute. I think I still have it...

The butterfly part is really cute! I always wonder how they do that. And the ending is the best with all the Figments. When we did it on our trip I completely forgot about that part and when the curtain (or wall or whatever) dropped I was like OOOOOHHHHHHH!!!! hehe

Ahhh, Figment. I have to admit that this past trip, I was secretly relieved when my daughter didn't want to ride it over and over again like last time. Phew.

And also have to admit, I loved dressing up my little girl in the same outfit during our trip. My friend lent me her shorts so we could match, but I had to give them back. :sad1: I figured, she won't let me dress her like me for too many more years.

By the way, I'm watching gilmore girls currently on ABC Family as my munchkin naps. Maybe I should wake her......it's getting late. I hope to have a relationship with her as close as Lorelai and Rory!

Thanks for your Figment update. :) Somehow, we've never made it to that attraction. We always seem to hit our favorites and then run out of time since our trips are usually on the shorter side. Next trip, we have agreed to forfeit some things that we always do, so that we may try new attractions. For example, we've never been to Tom Sawyers Island or the Swiss Family Treehouse in the MK.

Can't wait to see where you go next! Could it be time for you date with a certain Super Hero to save the world?

I love hearding things like that! That you stayed at SSR for less than staying at POP! That just amazes me. What is it exactly ... people who have DVC points who can't use them so they rent it out? Staci sent me a thing to read over, but I haven't had a chance to look over it yet. It really seems to be looking slightly possible that we'll make a trip at least the year of our wedding (as opposed to not possible at all).

Haha, what a lovely use of the word "decapitate"! It was much better when I was younger, although I do know that I used to be scared of the words part that used words from Poe or something? But hey, more kids would be exposed to Poe if the ride were still like that! AND I could talk more about Disney when I'm teaching English because I do Edgar Allan Poe with the 8th graders!!!

I hate to admit it, but I am not an Imagination fan. I wish I liked it, but I don't. For me the best part of that part of Epcot is the jumping fountains outside of the pavilion!

I'm with you on being creeped out by faces in the moon or sun. Almost as scary as clowns!

I wanted to hang around the fountains and at least get some fun pics, but as I said before for other things, my dad was with us! Haha, he wouldn't understand my need to hang around fountains.

Ooo, clowns are crazy frightening! Ever since this one scene in one of the Pee Wee Herman movies where he loses his bike and there's a fake clown or something that stares him down? Something like that.

Haha, you're such a silly almost praying for Jack and Tony! But that's just how real it is! When I was filling out a survey for my church group about which celebrity we'd want to meet, I said Kiefer Sutherland. I also added that he'd probably have issues with my constantly calling him "Jack Bauer" though! Then when I was watching the start of season 2 this past weekend with Weird, he mentioned something about KS's DUIs or something like that? And I was like, WHAT? And he said, "He was arrested." I was in SHOCK! Boo, KS! You're ruining the image of Jack Bauer! I was so upset that I chose him as my celebrity even though I did technically choose Jack!

WHOA WHOA WHOA ... that was intense! Haha, I just watched the trailer for The Event! I "hate" these things because I want to know NOW; I don't want to wait to know what it's all about! Haha, this is going to drive me crazy. I'm sure I'll be watching it too! It's funny how there are so many famous faces in it, especially the guy working with the President in this show that was the bad guy on season 1 of 24! And I'm thrown off by the President because I expect it to be David Palmer!

I'm not sure if my aunt has the license or what. I just know that she can get better rates than we can because she's a travel agent. I'm sure that has to be mean she has some qualification otherwise I'd like to book a vacation and claim I'm a travel agent too, haha.

haha, first of all I completely agree with you about having to work over our summer. Maybe we are spoiled as teachers since other jobs don't give you a whole couple months off but during summer school I was kind of bad about planning. Haha, it IS the summer! It's hot and gross out, and we want to sleep in too! I know that it's not as bad as working the entire year straight through, but we have to compromise being teachers as well. I mean, we have to go to Disney during the summer only or during school breaks. I don't think I'll ever get to the point when I could miss an entire week of work just to vacation. I might add a few days before a break or something, but I can't imagine taking off an entire week. It'd probably end up being more work before and after it!

I knew the butterfly part was coming up, so I was trying to pay particular attention as if I could figure it out. Haha, that's kind of silly of me because I'm sure Disney wouldn't make it that easy to see!

I'm surprised that kids like the ride so much! Did your DD mind the skunk smell? I'm curious to know what little kids would say about the smell especially if they had no frame of reference!

I was thinking about that pic of you and your munchkin when I typed that comment out! Ahhhh, you two with the plaid shorts; it was the cutest thing EVER!

I have to give Gilmore Girls a rest ... I've gone through the DVDs so many times that I literally reference GG every time. Haha, if you were to ask Weird, he'd tell you that when something happens, I'll give a quotation from the show or says, "It's like so-and-so doing this or that." He'll say, "Wait, who?" and I'll say, "From Gilmore Girls" and he'll say, "I should've known." Haha.

There's always more to do! I haven't done Tom Sawyer's Island either, and I thought I was sure I'd get to do it this past trip! Oh well, next trip! I know I won't get to see everything I wrote down (I brought index cards filled with Hidden Mickeys are the secrets that I wanted to check out), but it was fun being able to see some of them! If we saw it all at once, our future trip reports would be rather boring ;)

Monday, April 5: Weird's First Taste of Beverly!

It feels as if we've been in Epcot for a while, but we really weren't! We only got through 3 pavilions! There was still so much to see and do and all of World Showcase to see! However, even though we may not have done that much yet, we were all rather thirsty! So where did we go? Club Cool!

Walking and walking and walking to our destination. We stopped by this photo spot to take a family pic in front of the reverse waterfall. And yes, I did the girly thing by putting my hand on my hips so that my arms wouldn't look so chubby, haha.

IMG_1351-1.jpg

Then Weird took this pic of me because there's one of me in my stroller in this spot (give or take a few yards; later on Weird said if he saw the pic, he would've had a better idea of the angle ... next time!) when I was really little! I had this slightly pouty face. Haha.

IMG_1355.jpg

Here's the original pic. You might have seen it on my PTR in the "Stroller Photos" flashback.

A203.jpg

I think we may have stopped at the bathroom first because Weird took this picture of Matt? Or maybe we were going to get to Club Cool this way instead of walking all the way around? I don't remember. But don't you love how they have these random yet really cool AC-ed hallways? What a good place to rest and even take a nap! Plus, any time we need a bathroom break, we usually go to the one inside one of these buildings instead of the ones outside. Not everyone knows about these, so it's never crowded and they're much cleaner, in my opinion.

IMG_1358-1.jpg

Finally got to Club Cool! I saw a pic in one of the Celebrations magazine that showed that before it was called "Club Cool" and it looked more like an igloo, there was a caveman person inside the ice in a window or something. I saw the pic and I'm glad they changed it because I'd be too scared to walk past it! Cavemen are creepy because of the ... Geico commercials?

Sip sip sip. I love that they have this here because it's just really amazing that Disney gives all of this away for free! Okay, so it's not so much Disney since it's Coke. My favorite one that I went to get right away was the Mexico one. In the past, I've tried every single drink that's there, and I just don't see the point in wasting my calories on something I know I won't like as much as the Mexico one! Yum.

IMG_6558.jpg

My parents really love the China one with the watermelon in it. It's okay, but it's just not my favorite.

Weird, on the other hand, had never tried any of these before. You know what that means! Haha. I didn't have to trick him to taste Beverly; he knew I wanted him to try it. Plus, he eats a lot of this bitter Chinese melon at home, so I knew it wouldn't bother him that much. What was funny was that when he was filling his cup, a man next to us told us that it wasn't good! I forgot exactly what he said, but I told him, "Haha, I know; that's why I want him to try it!" Haha, you can watch the video of his first taste of Beverly! Well, more than a taste ... I told him to drink all of it ...

Weird was really excited to see the Vinylmation! He was very intrigued by these things since we first saw them online.

IMG_1360.jpg

The one we both really liked was the Herbie one. I don't know if he's even seen either movie, but I know I haven't!

IMG_1363.jpg

The reason why I love it so much is that it took a lot for me to finally trade for the entire Herbie outfit on VMK. Plus, probably one of my all-time favorite pieces of furniture on VMK was my Herbie couch! When I printed and laminated my flats, I even printed one out of Weird and Ninja on the couch.

You can see the couch in this picture of the "restaurant" I designed. It's to the right of the fireplace.

VMKNinjaRestaurant.png

(If you didn't play VMK, there are a few cool things about the room! The purple doors are Monsters Inc doors, so if you clicked to go into one, you'd appear out of the other. That was the way you would get from the waiting area of the restaurant to the eating area. The seats closest to the entrance, which is where Ninja is standing in the bottom left corner, are Expedition Everest ride vehicles. The blue seats are Tron chairs. The other blue teleporter led to a room for Weird and me only, so that's why I put a lantern there so no one could go in unless I allowed it. Also, the green Disneyland turnstile could be clicked so that it was blocked off and no one could go into the kitchen without my permission.)

I think the transparent one with the Mickey heads on it is cute too. I haven't gotten into Vinylmation because some are cute and others are creepy. I wouldn't want to get a creepy one, although I did finally learn recently that they do have trading available in some places (I forgot whose TR I read that on!).

IMG_1364.jpg

I quickly walked around the rest of the small store to snap a few pictures of the merchandise. Although I love the colors, I wouldn't wear a shirt like this because it's TOO colorful. I look young enough as it is, haha.

IMG_6561.jpg

We joked that this is the bag that my mom should get because we joke that she has all these biker friends! Any time we saw these big motorcyclists on the road, we claimed they were my mom's friends! Hmm, I may have mentioned it during our travel days. Just don't mistake the kinds of bikers ... mom's friends are the ones who ride Harley's, not the ones who ride Yamahas.

IMG_6562.jpg

On the way out (with my feet sticking to the floor ... but it's okay because as long as it's sticky because of soda and nothing else, I'm fine with it!), I spotted this display. I thought it was really cute!

IMG_6563.jpg

Okay, now that are thirst was quenched, where to next?

First in response to your comment: Yes, basically DVC owners who have extra points or just can't use theirs for whatever reason will rent them out to non-dvc members for usually about $8-$15 a point. To give you and idea in April 2011 Thurs - Sat a studio at SSR is 16 points a night. So if you can rent points for $8, that means that your SSR room is $128 a night. Not to shabby.

Actually, what year are you looking for? We might be able to help you out. I promised DH after our Disney heavy year that we'd go elsewhere in '11, so we might have some extra points in '11 or '12.

Then, In response to your new update - BTW yay for being on an updating roll lately! I do the same thing at club cool. I've tried them all, so I just go for the ones I know I like. But I love taking new people there and seeing their reactions!

The video of Weird is so funny. He was all mellow about it... I liked his reaction to you asking him if he wanted more. :rotfl2:

I'm with you on the Vynlmations. Some are so cute, and some are creepy. They're not cheap enough that I wouldn't be angry if I got a creepy one!

Wow, I love all the updates! I'm a total slacker on my TR right now. I need to get cracking! I have to say that I like that watermelon soda too. I also always end up getting one of the frozen cokes when I am in there. It's just so refreshing when it's HOT outside!

I enjoyed your last two updates. Now I know I'd at least like to try Figment and see for myself what it is about, but I know I wouldn't care for the skunk smell. Too bad I couldn't see the Beverly video from work. I would have loved to have known Weird's reaction!

I know! I just got so into it--I would dream about 24 stuff all the time. And now I dream about lost. Last night, I was in this race thing with Sawyer and Juliette and some other people and we were trying to get away from Charles Whitmoore. It was crazy! Sawyer was our leader.

That's crazy about KS! I saw an interview with him one time and he said that he's gotten used to being called Jack. He answers to both. He has a daughter that just graduated high school--it's crazy that he's that old and he's still doing all of those crazy stunts. It's funny to watch him age over the seasons, though! It was 9 years from start to finish!

Doesn't it look good?! I can't wait for it to start! I wish that David Palmer was our president! Every time I hear or see an Allstate commercial, I think about Pres. Palmer. Yeah, it's so funny to see the different actors/actresses that are in the same TV shows. LOST has quite a few people that have been in both, and some of the ones in The Event have been in one or the other. Michelle from 24 is going to be in the next LOST episode we're watching! I love Michelle!

Hm...I'll have to keep on looking into the TA thing... :)

Yay for Club Cool! I'm with your parents--the watermelon one is the best! :thumbsup2 That video is great. Weird's face is priceless. I could NOT have drunk the whole thing. YUCK!

Oh--and the pics of you now and way back in the day by the fountain are great! It's fun to look at old pictures like that!

I liked the Mexican drink the best, too. It was the one that tasted the least like soda to me (I hate soda) and it was very refreshing.

That video of Weird was too funny! My crazy BF actually LIKED the Beverly. I was like, "aw man, are you kidding? I wanted a crazy reaction!" He likes everything, I should have known  Haha.

Love Club Cool!! I too "tricked" DBF into tasting Beverley-- but, like Weird, he wanted to try them all...SOO not my fault then. Right? :thumbsup2

I have never tried any of those Cokes before! :guilty: I have missed so many things at WDW that I need to do my next trip!!

I love that you took the picture where the stroller picture was originally taken. That is so cool!

All of this merchandise makes me want to go shopping... :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the DVC explanation! I told Weird to read it too so that he would have an idea what it was all about. Our timeshare (that my parents are thinking about selling) worked differently. It was a bit more rigid. We have a certain week that has to be used each year, and if it's not, it can be "banked" for later use (by a certain time, I think 2 years). We can trade weeks or trade locations, but there's always a hefty charge for it. The flexibility of DVC sounds much more inviting!

We're looking at 2012. The initial plan was to get married in Feburary so that we could have our Disneymoon during Presidents' Week. Of course, as a teacher, I'm limited in terms of what times we can go. I don't like the summer, and comparing Feb to April, I love February so much more! Love going to the parks in a hoodie. We thought that if we weren't going to have a Disneymoon, we'd push the wedding back until March or so (less possibility of a blizzard!), but if we can do a Disneymoon, we may keep it as February!

I didn't expect Weird to have a reaction at all because he's so used to bitter melon! Haha, it just left such a bad after taste; that's why it was kind of delayed!

Yes, Vinylmation is so pricey!!! Haha, it's a plastic little mouse! C'mon now ...

Wow, I love all the updates! I'm a total slacker on my TR right now. I need to get cracking! I have to say that I like that watermelon soda too. I also always end up getting one of the frozen cokes when I am in there. It's just so refreshing when it's HOT outside!

I'm trying to get moving since we're still in park #1!!! Next week is my last week of work, so things are slowing down a bit. One of those days will be a testing day and the following day will be going over the test. There isn't that much planning to do, so I told myself it's about time to catch up!

Mmm, I wanted a frozen Coke from Goofy's Candy Co!!! But then they didn't have those cups that you can make yourself. I wanted to do the build-a-cup so badly that I knew for a fact that I was going to spend the money on it, but they changed it! Oh well. No frozen Coke for me!

I enjoyed your last two updates. Now I know I'd at least like to try Figment and see for myself what it is about, but I know I wouldn't care for the skunk smell. Too bad I couldn't see the Beverly video from work. I would have loved to have known Weird's reaction!

Thanks for still following! Trying to get more updates up at least a little bit more often than once a week. As for the skunk smell, it can be detected even before it's puffed in your face! It lingers from the previous times. So unlike the Hershey chocolate ride in Pennsylvania that smells like chocolate!

Hope you get to watch the video at home!

Oh--and the pics of you now and way back in the day by the fountain are great! It's fun to look at old pictures like that!

Since I knew the Allstate commercials before 24, I couldn't stop seeing him as the Allstate guy on each episode. However, now that I've gotten used to 24, I started cracking up when I saw the Allstate commercial!!! Haha, I'm so easily entertained. He does have that unique voice that sounds trustworthy though, so both are very smart to have him! Or should I say to have had him since 24's over.

Haha, they should somehow dispense less of Beverly because I'm sure most people dump it out! I always think, are the floors sticky because people accidentally spilled or because people spit out Beverly? Um ... haha.

I love the graininess of old photos! It's funny because nowadays, it's all about having the sharpest photos, but the graininess just gives a certain feel to it.

Yes! Maybe that's why I like the Mexican one the best. When I was younger, I loved carbonation but didn't want to really drink that much soda because it's so unhealthy. My mom used to buy seltzer for me, and I'd put it in juice - orange or fruit punch or something like that. Maybe that's why I like it so much ... it reminds me of that!

When I watched the video again, I realized that someone said, "Big gulp" after I did. I wonder if it was that guy! Haha, funny to find someone who actually likes Beverly! I mean, I agree that it's not as bad as I thought it'd be when I tasted it. But to find someone who likes it? Haha, one in a million.

Love Club Cool!! I too "tricked" DBF into tasting Beverley-- but, like Weird, he wanted to try them all...SOO not my fault then. Right? :thumbsup2

Club Cool's the kind of place you have to stop at very often to try them all. I can't imagine trying them all at once! Well, that's because I'd feel bad just taking a sip and then dumping the rest, so I drink as much as I can if not all of the little cup. Don't you wish they had a Club Cool in the middle of World Showcase? It gets so hot there!!! I'd love a cool place for free beverages!

I have never tried any of those Cokes before! :guilty: I have missed so many things at WDW that I need to do my next trip!!

I love that you took the picture where the stroller picture was originally taken. That is so cool!

All of this merchandise makes me want to go shopping... :goodvibes

And if you go try the drinks at Club Cool, you have to try Beverly! It's a rite of passage as a DISer!

I was hoping to get more pictures in the same spots as when I was younger. Of course, so many places have changed so most of it isn't possible! And of course, my parents didn't take that many pics of us when we were kids anyway. Too bad there weren't any digital cameras then to just take a million and print the ones you want.

That's the horrible thing about Disney. You pay all this money for resorts and to go to the parks and eat. Then all the merchandise? Oy! Haha, how can we say no?

Monday, April 5: Disney Feet to Test Track

When we got tired of walking on the sticky floors in Club Cool, we stepped out to watch the water show in the Fountain of Nations. Did you know that representatives from many countries each poured a gallon of water from their homeland into the fountain? I think that's pretty cool! Definitely represents Epcot.

IMG_1374.jpg

Oh wait, I should say that we caught the end of the fountain show because just as we started watching it, it ended. Haha, by the time I got the camera recording, a few seconds later it was done! Haha, I actually say "Done" in the video because I thought it was funny that we missed so much of it. Oh well! Next time! I was happy that we got to see part of it though just so I knew what it was all about. Here's that brief 24 second video!

We knew that our next stop was going to be my favorite Epcot ride, Test Track! Some more walking had to be done. Thankfully, I had my New Balance sneakers!

Wanna know what else I was doing as I walked? This:

feet.jpg

Yes, those are all pictures of my feet in Disney! Weird's feet are in some of them too. I have a tendency to constantly click the camera button over and over again when I'm holding it. What I didn't know was that I actually had left it on, so I captured a ton of pics of my feet! But hey, they're feet on Disney ground! Haha, I also got part of my outfit and a glimpse of my bag in this last one.

IMG_6604.jpg

Ahhh, our destination is in sight!

IMG_6605.jpg

I don't know why I looked away from it though ... haha, Weird took this one. Maybe I was waiting for my family to catch up? Who knows!

IMG_1396.jpg

I decided that this was the perfect time to use the GAC. I didn't use it yet that morning, and I was on my feet for quite a while already. This is also why I was okay with going to Soarin' first thing in the morning instead of getting FP from Test Track. However, I went up to the guy standing in front of the FP line and showed him the GAC. He said, "All lines are wheelchair accessible." So ... I guess that meant I would have had to stand in the regular line? That wouldn't have worked though because I wouldn't have lasted. This is why the guy at Guest Relations said that I could also ask for a wheelchair. Okay ... the thought crossed my mind for a second, but I decided against it. I just really didn't want people thinking I was "faking" any injury just so I could sit in a wheelchair. Besides, even if I were sitting, I don't think my dad, Matt, and Weird would want to stand on that line!

Instead, we headed to get FP for later on at night so that we could at least ride together once during the trip.

IMG_1403.jpg

Last time we were here, I rode this a handful of times, at least 5, I believe. I kept hopping on the single rider line over and over again while my dad and Matt waited on the regular line since Matt was too small to do single riders. We knew that we'd be back later to use the FP so we hopped in for single riders this time again. I have to admit though that I was disappointed that Weird's first ride wasn't going to be with me. I really wanted to see his reactions!

When we got closer to the part where the CMs filter the 3 lines into the rooms, Weird saw that they had a median from New Jersey! Haha, neither of us live in NJ, but it's still close to home!

IMG_1405.jpg

I really love the way the single rider line works. For those of you who may not know, single riders are basically used to fill in whatever available seat there is in the ride vehicle. That means that it's better for Disney to get more people on each car and it's better for people who just don't want to wait! Of course, there are signs posted everywhere that say you'll get separated from your party, but in our case, we knew that we had a better chance of getting 2 to the same car since there were 4 of us.

While we were waiting to go into our holding room to listen to Bill and Sherry tell us about what tests we were going to experience (no, I didn't remember those names; I just happened to flip through my "The Complete WDW" book), I saw this. This is creepy! It's definitely something that could be in a scary movie, like the dummy puts its face back on! And thankfully, this was BEFORE I read Kingdom Keepers 3 ...

IMG_1406.jpg

The one thing I don't like about the holding room is that they stuff a lot of people in there, and then when they open the doors on the opposite side, everyone tries to cram through. My dad's the kind of person who tries to get in first. I just don't like dealing with that, and I probably would've hung back if I had a choice and taken pics and looked at some details. However, we wanted to be together with my dad and Matt so that we could possibly get 2 people in the same car so Matt would haven't to be in a car alone.

Pretty soon, a guy was telling us what number to stand on. Initially, Weird and I were in the same car and my dad and Matt were in individual cars on the other end. We were trying to get the CM's attention to tell him we were going to switch, just so that he wouldn't yell that we were moving from our spots, but he wasn't paying attention. He didn't seem to know what he was really doing (later on, we realized that Weird had to wait for the NEXT car because he had miscounted and then I think yelled at Weird even though he had placed him there). We just switched it ourselves, so Weird and Matt switched so Matt would be sitting behind me in my car.

We were off! I was so excited to be riding even though Weird wasn't with me. I love Test Track so much! It's just the right amount of thrill for me to get really excited about it and just slightly nervous but in a good way (riding it 5+ times in a row last time got me a little dizzy, so I have to make sure that doesn't happen ever again!). I can't really handle much more than Test Track. I wanted to look for a few secrets, but my seat wasn't really good for that. I was able to see the Mickey in the office in either the cold or hot room; I forgot which one, but I pointed it out to Matt behind me.

What a ride! I could do that every single day of my life! As long as it's during park hours and not after hours when the Overtakers are around ... haha, seriously, if you haven't started the Kingdom Keepers series yet, you should!

After the ride, we walked through the showroom. I wasn't interested because well ... haha, cars don't interest me. I can drive my car. That's it. Even now as Weird and I are talking about what car to buy, I immediately say that I'd like the car I have now! Unfortunately, Weird doesn't like the CR-V, but I'm comfortable driving it. Just a cliff notes version, when I was in college, my family got into a car accident. Not sure if it was insurance fraud or what because we were squished between 2 work vans. The van that crashed into us from behind claimed his brakes weren't working, but later on, police found that wasn't true. The vehicle hit our car where I was sitting in the minivan (the seatbelt locked into place because it crushed the part that pulls it back). I was fine at first, but the cops said I'd probably start feeling it later. When we were still sitting there, my back started hurting so they called an ambulance. I didn't go to the hospital then, but when we got back home, it was hurting so bad so my parents said we HAD to go. Basically, I had to stay home from school for a week because it was so bad. I couldn't get in an out of bed; doing so made me cry each time. After months of physical therapy, it's pretty much back to normal. I do still have a pinched nerve that feels weird every now and then. That spot used to be my "rain spot" too. I could predict whether or not it was going to rain because that spot would kill me! Haha, I was better than the weatherman.

All that to say, it took me a while to finally start driving. I had to take my road test after the accident, but I stayed away from cars after that. I finally started driving to and from work less than a year ago! Praise God that He helped me overcome my fear! One day I had it, and the next day I was willing to sit behind the wheel even though I used to hyperventilate while sitting there. To finally drive a car is a big deal for me and for all those who know me, so that's why I'd like to have a CR-V when I'm married or at least a car similar in size and height to it! Haha, so all these other cars in the Test Track showroom? Um, no thanks. They were either really sporty or really huge!!! Scroll down to see the latter!

I think most guys are fascinated with this.

IMG_1410.jpg

As Weird admired that car, I feared this guy. I kept thinking, "It'd be creepy if these dummies just suddenly came alive like those commercials!" Again, this was BEFORE reading KK3!!! I wouldn't have stood so close to it if I had read it!

IMG_6606.jpg

Or maybe this one? I can't help but think ... um, that's really yellow!

IMG_1413.jpg

I could NEVER drive a car this huge! I could LIVE in a car this huge though. I think I could give birth to and raise triplets in this car.

IMG_1418.jpg

I could barely see over the wheel, and I just felt like I was sinking in this huge seat! Haha, don't you think Weird is an oddball for wanting to marry that face?!? Haha.

IMG_1419.jpg

After the showroom, we quickly went through the gift shop. I was really into the Mickeys in costumes because they were all friends with Mascot Mickey! Other than that though, the TT gift shop really isn't one of my favorite shops. I do think I need to take more time to look around and enjoy how it's set up; normally we rush through because my mom's been waiting outside for us to finish the ride.

IMG_6607.jpg

Hmm, where to next?
