Weird and Ninja’s Pre-Disneymoon [Completed!]

Monday, April 5: Frog-Sized Margarita

Once I finished internally debating a career change, I quickly hurried on outside through the automatic doors because I heard a sound I was hoping to hear in real life! The JAMMitors were playing! Well, they weren't the JAMMitors because it was during the Flower and Garden Festival. Instead, they were called the Jammin' Gardeners or something like that.

IMG_1495.jpg

We actually only caught the end of their show, but I was glad to have caught them at all! They really are an entertaining bunch! I'm especially amazed at their skill because they all stay on the beat and obviously have great rhythm.

IMG_1497.jpg

I've tried playing the drums once or twice since I've been on many different worship teams at church. One particular time was with my cousins. We would go to my grandparents' basement because they had everything set up down there (guitars, keyboard, drums). My cousin Danielle was our drummer, and she was trying to teach me a basic beat. Okay, it took a while to get my hands coordinated to hit the sticks correctly. However, once she tried having me add my feet, it was impossible! I was the most spastic person ever! Guess the actual drumming took too much concentration because I've never had a problem tapping my foot when I was in the school band playing the flute. God just did not create me to be a percussionist!

IMG_1499.jpg

These guys, however, were definitely talented! Plus, it's not just hitting things to the beat. They each focus on a particular "instrument" to create a particular sound that just works with the other two. Oh, and on top of that, they're funny! They're just wacky and sometimes tell jokes. You can really tell that they love their jobs!

IMG_1510.jpg

The only disappointing part of the performance was that they didn't give out stickers at the end! Haha, I know, I'm supposed to act like a 25-year old, right? I've seen on TRs that the JAMMitors give out Junior JAMMitor stickers or something like that. I wanted to get one afterwards, but obviously, being an entirely different group meant that that wasn't going to happen. Oh well, there's always next time!

We headed to the other Innoventions building because there was another thing I knew I really wanted to do. Before we headed inside, Weird got a pic of Pumbaa! Are you achin' for some bacon?

IMG_1514.jpg

He also really loved these giraffes because the pose made it look as if they were actually moving forward!

IMG_1515.jpg

Inside this building, there was this little model. Don't know what it was for, but as I've mentioned before, Weird went to school for architecture, so he's immediately drawn to all sorts of buildings and models!

IMG_1516.jpg

A little conference room!

IMG_1517.jpg

A little science lab! And the periodic table of elements too!

IMG_1519.jpg

I wish I could have tried everything in Innoventions, but that'd require a separate day! I wasn't quite sure where I was going since we never really explored Innoventions before, at least not any time recently. Soon I started seeing signs. What I really wanted to do wasn't The Great Piggy Bank Adventure, so we kept moving on until we reached the section dedicated to velcro!

IMG_1520.jpg

Next time, cute pig. Next time, we will partake in your adventure!

IMG_1531.jpg

This sign was one that I just had to photograph because it said "hook and loop" on it. In preparation for the New York State verbal exam for the 8th grade, I do this practice listening session (I read a story twice, students take notes and then answer questions and write an essay) called "Hook and Loop," which is about the guy who created Velcro - George de Mestral. Yes, I have that memorized at this point, haha.

IMG_6639.jpg

For those of you who are interested, the reason why he thought to invent it was because he went out for a walk with his dog in a woodsy area and returned to see a ton of burrs stuck to his dog's hair. He tried brushing them off, but it wasn't that easy. He took a burr into the lab to examine under a microscope and saw that it was made up of what looked like tiny hooks. He realized that nature (haha, or God!) had created the perfect fastener!

Of course, most people won't think much of it because everyone says Velcro (combination of the words velour and crochet), but a few days ago when I was at the dentist's office, I saw a commercial for Pillow Pals. You may have seen the commercials or at stores (we have a stand in the mall that sells them). It's basically a stuffed animal that unhooks to become a pillow. Well, in the commercial the guy says to undo the "hook and loop." Haha, he's talking about velcro!

Seriously, I'm just going to keep going on and on about Velcro ...

Well, we rounded the corner and I saw what I was searching for ... the area to make your own velcro frog! I think this is so cute because it's a free activity that might not be as thrilling as Test Track or Mission: Space, but it draws out the inner kid in everyone! Mom, Matt, Weird, and I all chose our frog so we could start picking accessories.

IMG_6642.jpg

Oh, where was my dad you ask? He was sitting on one of the sofas on the other side of the building with my mom's backpack taking a nap. That worked for us! He could rest, and if he was closing his eyes, he wouldn't realize how long we were away!

There were so many pieces on the spinny rack things that I could not identify. I wonder if they were supposed to be certain things or if they purposely made them unrecognizable so that you could use your imagination and decide what to use it for! Haha, that's what I ended up doing!

IMG_6641.jpg

I actually started off with a green frog. You have your choice of green or purple. However, as I started looking for accessories, I realized that a lot of the things I wanted were green! I started removing the few pieces I stuck on so I could switch it, but then my mom switched with me. She wasn't enjoying it that much because she felt out of place. She said she didn't think that she could/should be making one because she wasn't a kid. I told her, "Weird and I aren't kids either, but here we can be!" Okay, I most likely made that quotation up, but it was something to that effect.

The one thing I KNEW I wanted without a doubt was Mickey ears! That's really the only thing there that's distinctly Disney. Even that can probably be used in some other imaginative way as well!

IMG_1521.jpg

Here is the one place that I remembered to look up! I loved how they showed the uses of velcro in the mobiles.

IMG_6644.jpg

Want to know why the astronauts are up there? Astronauts have a little strip of velcro inside their helmets so that when they have an itch, they can just rub against the strip to scratch it. They obviously can't use their hands, so that provides some relief! And yes, I learned that from the story I read out loud to the kids! Can you tell it's one of my favorite informational texts? It's much more interesting than the one about the guy who fixes all the clocks in the palace at Versailles (the 8th grade listening passages are mainly informational texts, the 6th grade has the fun short story ones!).

IMG_6640.jpg

Love how they decorated pretty much every space that could possibly be decorated.

IMG_6645.jpg

This was also my favorite. What does it look like to you? Most of you probably see a baby with a diaper on and a bib. It took me a while to see it (and I mentioned it to Weird too!) that to me, I thought they were representing super babies! You know, a baby wearing a diaper and a cape because he/she is a superhero!

IMG_1523.jpg

The only bad thing about this area at that time was that there were 2 CMs replenishing the spinny racks with more velcro pieces. They just seemed very unhappy with their job. It was an older man and an older woman who didn't talk to anyone or smile to anyone. Maybe they wanted to work at a different station? Maybe the frog velcro station requires a lot of organizing or clean up because people don't put the pieces back? Whatever it was, I just wanted to be like, "You work in Disney! Smile a little!" (I think that's why my mom felt a little uncomfortable.)

Finally, I present to you my frog! My frog was definitely ready to have some fun on vacation! What's in her hands? On one side, she has a cup that's holding a margarita! Virgin, of course. This little froggy knows how to have fun without alcohol. In her other hand is a tortilla chip. Feeling the vibe of the Mexico pavilion!

IMG_1529.jpg

Woohoo for actually being able to experience something I wanted to do! I think I wrote about it in my PTR, so I was extra excited. On the tops of the spinny racks there were rolls of blue velcro so that you could attach it to the back of your frog and wear it as a bracelet or attach it to your bag. We got those and then were on our way! Hmm, there isn't a pic of the other frogs that my mom, Matt, and Weird made! I wonder if we ever took one later on. Guess we'll find out as I continue this TR!

But where were we heading next? We still wanted to do more in Innoventions; we knew we weren't done there yet!

While we didn't get to make paper, we did spend a lot of time at the velcro frog section. I think I made a frog and DD made a couple of "happy faces." I think there had been a few plain velcro circle pieces and we just put some sunglasses them and some mickey ears and fastened them to the wrist strap and she wore those as a bracelet for a few hours taht day. I think you can see it in my TR when she is meeting Daisy Duck and Stitch.

What is the Piggy bank adventure?

We had so much fun with the frogs! I think it's such a great free souvenir for everyone. Sorry the CM's weren't so happy :-\ We had a really great older guy on our last trip who was constantly cracking jokes-- he was so sweet!

Looks like you had fun at Innoventions! One of these days I'll get around to exploring it more. I keep hearing about all these fun things that I never knew existed like the frogs and the paper making.

In that general area, there was this small display case with a soccer match. Weird took a picture of it and said, "Look, tilt-shift!" Haha, we cracked up about that because we both LOVE the videos for MK (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyZfIlxwsfI) and Epcot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6pTRcVuoRA)! If for whatever reason you've never seen them, you MUST watch it!

DH showed me those for the first time the other day and I can't stop watching them! Did you see that there is one for DCL now too?!

Want to know why the astronauts are up there? Astronauts have a little strip of velcro inside their helmets so that when they have an itch, they can just rub against the strip to scratch it. That is very interesting!! I've seriously always wondered what they do if they have an itch! :rotfl:

Seriously who knew that you could make paper and play with velcro in Innoventions? (well okay, obviously you and a ton of other people on DIS, so basically the answer is just me)

We always just skip and rush through Innoventions. Seriously I think I've been in there twice. I'm not sure how much of that stuff I could get DH to do though.

I'm currently working on convincing my friend to come on a trip with me and bring her 7 year old so I have someone to do that kind of stuff with me :rotfl:

What a cute idea to make the happy faces! I'll have to go back to find those pics. I didn't even think to make something without the frog. Hmm, makes me wonder why they picked a frog!

The Piggy Bank Adventure is a game that you can play with your group. You get a cute piggy bank that you stick into a spot for each game. Then you play the game on screens, I think, and the "money" fills your piggy bank. The point is to see if you know how to save for a certain goal you pick (ex. dream vacation, college fund). It teaches kids the value of money and how important it is to save. I've read that adults can really learn from it too! I think that's the best game for Matt to play; he needs to learn the value of a dollar.

I look forward to the day that I can bring my kiddies there to make frogs! Haha, not that I need an excuse because I'll still be going there without kids! I know CMs have bad days too, but an attempt at a smile would've been nice. I think I'll make it a point to be nice to grouchy CMs; maybe they need someone to smile at them!

It's kind of difficult to do Epcot in one day. I used to think that MK could be done in 2 and Epcot in only 1. I'm starting to think that the opposite is true! I still love MK, of course, but there's so much of Epcot I haven't yet experienced just because of my attitude towards the park growing up (haha, boring and too educational!). I think I'm just more interested in it now because I teach, so there are more things that I can bring into my lesson from Epcot!

Obviously I need to spend more time in Innoventions!

Most definitely! I still have at least 2 more updates for Innoventions!

DH showed me those for the first time the other day and I can't stop watching them! Did you see that there is one for DCL now too?!

That is very interesting!! I've seriously always wondered what they do if they have an itch! :rotfl:

OH COOL! I'll have to watch the DCL one! I didn't know that they had one. I saw a glimpse of something on YouTube when I was searching for the video, but when I clicked the "back" button, I didn't see it anymore, so I thought it was my imagination. I hope they do it for the other parks too!

Haha, glad that my random trivia knowledge entertained someone else too!

Haha, don't worry, I didn't know about the paper and velcro until researching for this past trip! Just happened to see it on people's TRs and knew I wanted to try it myself! Best thing to do would be to grab a pamphlet that tells you where everything is in Innoventions.

Ooo, bringing a kid would be SO MUCH FUN! I think that's the fun part of having a younger brother. We can do ALL the kid stuff with the excuse that I'm doing it with him! Haha, in actuality, he's doing a lot the stuff because I want to do it!

Your frog is adorable! Love the Mickey ears!

I really like the design of that model with the little conference room. Those are the exact types of things that I love about going to WDW ~ every trip is a unique experience no matter how many times you go! :goodvibes

Definitely! That's why I didn't feel so bad skipping things at Innoventions. It's just designed to be impossible to do everything in one trip! I'd like to do a different game at Innoventions next time. We did "Where's the Fire?" twice already, and I really like it, but I want to try something new!

Monday, April 5: Don't Fail Me, Gyroscope!

I guess I missed this photo the other day since I was updating from my netbook. Here is where you can get your frog!

IMG_6643.jpg

And I also couldn't put this up the other day either because I didn't upload it to Photobucket. This is a brief 2-minute video of the Epcot Jammin' Gardeners' performance. I love how the guy uses the lids to make the sounds on the ground. Eventually the people who were there leave, so there's a little bit of time where there's a better view of all 3 of the Gardeners. Oh, and in the beginning, the guy with the lids makes a joke about a hidden Mickey, so that's why he's holding them to his head.

This is the video my dad took while we were making paper. He heard it and went out there earlier. It's a different part of the performance, and you can see one of the guys use the whole line of cans. Super fun to listen to even though my dad's slightly shaky with the camera (it's HD, so I wonder if that has something to do with picking up more of the shakiness).

We finally found the part of Innoventions that Weird was dying to do! Segway Central! Weird had such an interest in them for a while that when I told him we could try them out at Epcot for free, he got super excited! I just asked him why he had such a fascination with them and this is what he said, "Haha, I just think it's a cool way of getting around. I suggested it to my office because they'd always make us walk from office to office, so I thought it'd make more sense to have them for the students."

Look, Weird "wrote" on the TR. Woohoo!

Anyway, we hurried our way to the line with other adults since you have to be 18, I believe, to try it. It might be 16 though. We had to sign our lives away in this notebook. Haha, not really, I don't think it was that serious. I forgot what we had to write on the page.

We eagerly waited our turn even though I was a little nervous. I'm not exactly the most coordinated person! But there was no way I was going to pass this opportunity up especially since part of me is really interested in the Segway Tour around World Showcase! I know realistically that I would never be able to do it though after reading the details about the tour on Michelle's trip report (for SoonerGirl's segway tour update, click here). It's a lot of standing, and after she and her mom finished the tour, they gave them instructions for the time afterwards since they had been standing in one position for so long. Unfortunately, it'd be too much for me to handle with my vasovagal syncope. Oh well.

It was my turn, and the CM told me to hold on to the handle bars and THEN step up one foot at a time onto the segway. I must have had a brain fart because even though I heard him and understood him, my foot lifted up before I had both hands on the bars. I wonder if the CM thought I was stupid. Haha, I especially hated that I did that because I'm a teacher and get bugged when students don't listen to the directions I give! I felt better when Weird said he did the same thing too!

IMG_6647.jpg

He explained that all I had to do was lean forward to move forward and lean back to move back. Turning left and right would just require moving the handlebars to the right or left. It's really amazing how it works. So the CM had me go straight down my lane.

IMG_6649.jpg

At the end of the lane, I was to lean back a little and stop. I guess that part scared me a bit because I didn't want to fall even though it's designed for that sort of weight shift. I ended up bumping into the guy's hand.

IMG_6650.jpg

Then he had me turn around in a complete circle.

IMG_6651.jpg

Then I zoomed on back to where we started and turned around again.

IMG_6653.jpg

Getting off the segway required the same steps as getting on. Step off first while still holding on to the handlebar and then let go of the bar. Wow, isn't science just amazing? Weird explained that there's a gyroscope inside that keeps it balanced. That's all I know.

Weird went on with a different CM in the other lane. I think he said someone just switched or something like that? Seeing the video, it seems like his session was shorter because he didn't do the complete turn? Or maybe he's just in general faster than I am! Even from seeing the video, you can tell that the CM he had just seemed a lot more pleasant. I really wish I had had her instead! Would've made me less nervous!

Here's the video of both Weird and me on the segways. What's funny is that when I'm getting off my segway, I get confused and don't know where the door is to get out! Then when I finally get there, I still don't know how to get out! Haha, some other guest had to help me with the door, but he said he had had an issue too! The other funny thing is the guy who's waiting on the box on the floor in Weird's line. haha, he was pretending to balance or something! I think his family was next to us, and the wife was filming.

Look at my cutie! So in his nerdy element. Weird realized that he didn't need to actually lean his body forward. All that was required was putting some pressure on the front of your feet to move forward. I wish I had known that beforehand.

IMG_6658.jpg

When we were done, dad decided that he too wanted to try it. He realized it was free and that this was such a great opportunity! So he hopped in line, and we got to watch him and video his experience. My mom didn't want to try it because she believes she's extremely spastic and was afraid she wouldn't be able to stay balanced. Matt, of course, was too young, but he wanted to try it. Hope they still have it when he's older!

I am enjoying all your Innoventions updates, since this is one part of Epcot I really haven't explored before. That's so neat they have a free demo of the segways! Did you ever feel like you were going to fall backwards? I'd be so worried about keeping my balance if I ever did the tour.

Gosh, I missed a lot of great updates! :headache:

Paper making sounds like so much fun! I would really like to try that in December. I liked that you said it would be your alternate career choice. If I had to pick any other career besides teaching I would pick travel show host. That's kind of unrealistic, though.

I love your velcro froggy! :lovestruc I never even knew you could do all of this cool stuff! It stinks that the CMs were grumpy, though. Crabby CMs always make the experience a little less special. :sad1:

I HAVE to ride a segway! It looks like so much fun! Whenever I see them I always think of that Weird Al song where he's like, "They see me rollin' on my segway..." I don't know any of the other words but I remember the music video had Donny Osmond dancing in the background. Anyway, that is something DH and I will definitely have to try! You and Weird make it look so easy in your videos, but I will probably bust my butt! :rotfl:

I love the "action shot" of you on the Segway!! You're moving so fast, you're a blur, lol. Our mall security guards have them and I think they're so FUNNY! I don't know if I could do the sewgway tour, either. A few minutes on that would be plenty! I'd be too afraid of tipping over, even if that is nearly impossible.

I didn't know you could try out the Segways for free either, Don would love that! Good grief, I've missed alot in Innoventions!

I'm so excited for you that you got to try them out, aren't they fun? When I was watching your video and seeing you turn it I kept thinking 'pull that handle girl, they'll turn a lot faster than that'! Guess I think I'm and old pro now :lmao:

See, that is why I avoid Innoventions. The dreaded segway. You scan people's reports for sharks and avoid them - I do it with segways! :lmao:

I'm so so so so so so so so so bad at them it's not even funny. We did a tour on them in the Caribbean and I was in tears, running into buildings and ended up breaking my foot I was so tense and uncomfortable on them.

Way to go that you mastered it fairly easily. My dad always tells me there's an international ban on me driving a segway anywhere :rotfl2:

Glad to hear you're enjoying the Innoventions updates! I was glad that they had the demo because then I could try it since I know I won't be able to physically handle the tour. Plus, it's a good way to try it to see if you should even bother signing up for the tour!

I didn't feel like I was going to fall backwards. I think it's actually really easy to maneuver once you actually trust it. I kept thinking that it can't be possible for something on 2 wheels to just stand up on its own. I think once you get over that, it's a lot easier to maneuver. Plus, using Weird's suggestion of moving forward and backward by just pushing your feet down instead of moving your entire body should really help. There'd be no need to have to lean your entire body back then.

Haha, if anything, I kept telling myself that if I fell, it was carpeted. Oh, and maybe I'd get a Mickey sticker :thumbsup2

Trying to update more often especially since the school year's about to start! Only have 2 more weeks until I have to go back to work. Although being busy might actually make me DIS more because I'll be avoiding the work ...

Ooo, travel show host would be fun! Weird and I watch Travel Channel and other travel shows once in a while. Some hosts are just so ditzy or too old. You'd be a perfect younger host!

I think people could probably spend the entire day at both Innoventions buildings. I know I'd want to bring my kiddies here to have them explore and have fun even though they might not think it'll be fun at first!

Haha, I don't know that Weird Al song, but I might just have to look it up to see Donny Osmond dancing! And then I'll HAVE to show it to my mom!

Segway Central is definitely worth it then if you don't want to do the tour. I think it'd be fun to do the tour just so that there's less walking and a tour guide could point out all the things in WS. I don't know that I'd be able to pay attention the whole time if I'm worried about not tipping over though!

Keep the segway thing in mind next time you have to convince your Disney Grump to go back to WDW!

Haha, I was too afraid! I wonder if they can change the speed to make the ones indoors not as fast. I would think so just because we'd be doing a lot of crashing into walls if not! You should be the guide for my segway tour then! We'll get there early before people are there, and we'll go on the segway every 2 countries or so and then stop and get off to take a snack break! Great way to eat around the world (even though I know WS isn't really open then).

See, that is why I avoid Innoventions. The dreaded segway. You scan people's reports for sharks and avoid them - I do it with segways! :lmao:

Ouch! What a terrible segway experience! I wish it didn't happen at all, but since it did, too bad it wasn't at Disney! Hope they took care of you in the Caribbean!

Oh, so THAT'S why there was a picture of you near Segway Central!

Monday, April 5: Our 11-Year Old Son

As you've seen in the past few updates, we spent a good amount of time in Innoventions. There were, of course, so many other things we didn't get to try. For example, there was a whole section of video games that we were interested in. We saw it while waiting for the segways. Weird, of course, wanted to try the Cars one, but we didn't have much time.

He snapped a blurry photo of the sign on the wall. I thought he had snapped a photo of all the arcade-style video games, but I guess not! I've learned that we both need to take pics of everything because we really do see different things to photograph.

IMG_1543.jpg

We knew we wanted to play "Where's the Fire?" since we had done it before in the past, and I wanted Weird to experience it.

IMG_1544.jpg

Basically, there are two teams that go into the different rooms of a house. The entire house is like a mirror image so there's a living room on both sides, a garage on both sides, etc. You're given these huge flashlight-type things that you're supposed to use to point out the fire hazards. Whoever is with you in your room has to point it at the same hazard at the same time, so it's a game that actually requires a lot of communication.

We missed a game that had just started, so the CM there told us we could come back in 10 mins or so. I think we looked around for a bit and then returned to take the quiz on the touch screens. Is it just me or are touch screens just so much fun? I know that some CS restaurants have touch screen ordering, and that makes me want to eat at those places JUST to order on a touch screen! I digress ...

As we waited for our turn, we were extremely entertained by the man who was running the game before ours. It was odd, but the CMs we saw there were much older. They looked like senior citizens who retired and decided to work at Disney just because it's fun! The man announcing the winners was wearing dark black sunglasses to look extra cool. He put them on before all the teams moved back to the starting point to find out the winning team! That means he was doing it just for the show of it! LOVE IT! He was such a cute ol' man!

When we were finally let in, we told the CM that we had 4, so Weird and I were on one side and my mom and Matt were on the other side. The woman CM who first greeted us actually took over with running the game. I was disappointed at first, but she was great as well! Seriously, these CMs who love their jobs just make it that much more fun to be at WDW.

As other families started joining the game, I knew that my side was going to lose. Going in to one of the rooms was a family of 4, which included both parents and 2 extremely young daughters. Since everyone gets a flashlight thingie, I knew it'd be hard to have all 4 of them point at the same hazard since it can even be difficult for 2 people to point and click at the same time! I pointed it out to Weird, but oh well. We weren't playing just to win! We were playing to learn too, right? Hehe. Mom and Matt's team had a lot of competitive looking members, like pre-teens and such. They had smaller groups as well.

The CM explained to us what we would do. I love how they give us the directions one at a time. For example, they call out for those standing on a certain color on both sides to get their flashlight things and then another color. Definitely prevents any chaos or trampling from occurring. Even when a little kid takes one out of turn, the CM has them put it back. It's not done in a mean way, so I really appreciate that. It's just teaching them that rules have to be followed in the order that they say it (you know, just like we adults are supposed to step up on segways ... haha). Soon we were told to go into certain rooms (the color we were standing on was the color of the room).

Since mom and Matt were right across from us in the same room on their side of the house, I was able to get a picture so you can have an idea of what it looks like. The floors have different colors. Also, some rooms are twice as big (ex. the garage is bigger with 2 screens).

And then the game BEGAN! Weird and I had a little bit of an issue pointing to the same hazard at the same time. It's kind of difficult because our eyes are looking at diffent parts of the screen! And then I had an issue trying to figure out which "light" was mine. Just a little spastic with that ... maybe I got it from my mom! Took a few tries to finally get into momentum. When we finished a room, sometimes we'd get a bonus round too. Love how the whole thing works though. Once you're done with a room, it tells you what room to go to next and provides an arrow so that you go in the right direction. Brilliant!

After the game was through, we went back to our starting positions to find out that, as I had predicted, the other team won! Either way, it really was super fun! I waited for my side to filter out to the back to the exit, so I could ask the CM if I could take her picture! Absolutely love how she posed for it! Definitely put me in an even better mood!

One last thing that we wanted to do was get our pic taken with whoever was there for the Visa Character Meet n Greet. I had read earlier about how it's kind of difficult to find because it's behind this black curtain. I thought it'd be in a really obscure place, but it wasn't that difficult to find. If you're looking at the "Where's the Fire?" game, the fire truck will be to your right. Just walk down that path on the right next to the wall and you should be able to find it. Of course, my memory could be failing me right now, and I could be leading you to a bathroom or something ...

There was no one on line at that point. We didn't do it earlier because there were a ton of families. At that point, it was just us, so we were excited about that. Weird showed his Visa to the CMs (they had to write down his name because it's only allowed once a day) who probably thought it was odd that we were there. I don't know. It just didn't seem very inviting. Unfortunately, Matt was with us! I had told him to tell my parents that we were going to get the pics, but he thought that he was supposed to come with us. So he was in all the pics!

When I first went in, I saw that it was Mickey and Pluto! I was happy that it was Mickey, super happy. I showed him that I had Mascot Mickey, and he gave me a thumbs up or something, but the characters or the Photopass guys just seemed to be rushing us. I don't know. It was just not the experience I thought we would get.

Then suddenly, Weird and I were out of the pics, and they were taking pics of just Matt ... wait, what?

Later on, Weird said that the Photopass guys had said, "Okay, now mom and dad, you can step out." I didn't hear that at all! I forgot what he had said exactly, but basically they thought we were Matt's parents! Um, do we look that old? Does Matt look that young? I don't know. I guess you would assume that Matt's our kid, but what if we were all brother and sister? I just thought it was weird.

We left and found my parents. I complained to my mom because Matt was supposed to stay with them. I had him come in the room with us because at that point, my parents weren't in sight, and I wasn't about to send Matt looking for my parents! He has a tendency to keep walking without realizing where he is, so I wasn't about to risk that. Now Weird might have to get a pic with Matt in it!

My plan was to talk to the CM at the photo place and explain the situation so we could get a different photo. I've heard that that is allowed on rare occasions. I was really hoping it would work because I felt bad since it was Weird's card. Plus, I'd rather he keep a photo of the two of us in his room and not the two of us plus one, hehe.

At that point, my mom needed to go to the bathroom. No wait, I'm mixing up the timeline. When we went back to find my dad, my mom had left to go to the bathroom and we had to wait for her to come back (so I had to wait a bit before I could complain, haha).

Anyway, here's a random pic of me waiting for my mom since she ended up having to walk to the other end of the building. In this pic, you can see the Slapstick Studios. I think that's where they have this game show featuring velcro! I read about it on one of Timandlesley's TRs. On the right side, you can also see the activity where you can be in your own video game. They record your running/jumping/etc. and then you can play it on the game! There were a lot of people waiting for this one, so we had to skip it. Next time!

What a great time at Innoventions! Still so much to do, but there's an entire World Showcase to explore!

Saw your TR in your siggy so I figured I'd check it out:goodvibes I'm loving it so far and can't wait to read more! You remind me a lot of myself in Disney, with taking lots of pictures and such. Keep the updates coming, I'll definitely be subscribing:cutie:

Touch screens definitely make ordering much more fun! I really want to try Contempo Cafe for that reason!!
That actually looks like a lot of fun-- we have a great picture of DBF in the on-fire house, but we didn't play the game. Definitely next time!
