the best way to kill a relationship or at least my for 24 hours dh and I have been holding screaming matches because for the first time I have not gone over my 26 points and I would like it to stay that way and dh calls it bean counting how do I get him on board

Your husbands need to be more supportive of you first and foremost.

I don't understand the bean counting comment?

You are holding screaming matches because you didn't go over your points? What is there to scream at eachother about?

OP in the past you've posted about losing too much weight and have also posted your measurements (which did not indicate that you needed to lose any weight at all). Perhaps your husband is concerned that by trying to diet when you don't really need to you are compromising your health?

I am sorry never mind a family member came over due to a unrelated mater and we brought up this problem and we solved it we will try to plan our meals better

I guess the question I would ask is are you trying to lose weight or are you now a lifetime member and trying to maintain your weight? And with you asking how to get him on board are you referring to him joining to lose weight himself or of him supporting you. If it's to get him to lose weight, until one wants to lose it for themselves they will never get on board. If it's for him to support you that can be another whole different matter. I myself come from a very morbidly obese family (not my DW & DD) and I was once extremely obese myself. While I was losing weight I would hear from those around me how much better I'm looking; from my family (again not my DW & DD) all I would hear is how anorexic I looked and how I needed to add some "meat" to my bones. Today I am a very healthy 156 pounds on a 5' 10" body, I run 6-7 miles every other day, and work out as well. As you know, WW's is designed to be a healthy program that promotes proper eating habits and exercise and does not encourage unhealthy weight loss either too fast or too much... I would talk with your group leader and make sure your goals are realistic and healthy and if so, you keep pressing on to do it for yourself and in due time your husband will jump on board. Good luck... :thumbsup2

I have not read the OP's previous posts about too much weight and prior measurements... But as someone who lost 115 lbs 3 years ago on Weight Watchers and still maintaining my weight as a lifetime member, for me WW's is not a "diet" but instead a change in my lifestyle. With that said though, you may be correct on her husbands concern.

I agree with you on the bean counting comment. I am a lifetime member on WW's and I still track my points (bean counting) after having lost my weight 3 years ago and still maintaining.

I'm a lifetime member too. A little up right now. Lost seventeen pounds post baby so not a huge loss. Do you hate the tracking? I didn't mind it while losing the weight eleven years ago, but tracking all the time drives me crazy. I'm busier now too and hate making my life all about focusing what I put in my mouth. As I said, I'm up about five pounds right now so maybe one does have to track every morsel of food forever. Sorry to get off topic, just had the thought.

I have learned at least for myself that I always have to be conscience of what I am eating. I still track by using the WW application on my smartphone. It is not all that cumbersome to do. I will admit though, I don't track as "religiously" as I did while losing. After several years of doing WW's I have come to know the points of most of what I do eat. Sure, I still splurge and have some ice cream or a slice of pie, but I still try and stay aware of where I am in points and how much I weigh. For me, it is worth the small effort to track compared to where I came from and how I felt every day physically and how I saw myself.

Congrats to all of you lifetime members! That is a great accomplishment. I'm a member and just can't seem to kick things into gear. People like you are inspirational and prove to me that this is the best program as it's healthy and more of a lifestyle instead of a diet.

Thanks. It isn't easy, no doubt about it. I had a much tougher time losing the weight after my second pregnancy compared to my first. And it was only ten pounds! That weight stuck no matter if I kept within points. It wasn't until two years later that weight watchers worked that time. it was very frustrating and I lost faith in the program. On e heavyweight was off it was harder to keep off. I guess it's aging. Knowing point amounts instinctively helps me make decent choices but I find kicking up exercise has been key as I age. Just started running. Good luck. I will say tracking was essential while I was losing.
