Weight Watchers - core plan & cheapest cost???

We totally should start a Weight Watcher's thread.:thumbsup2

[SNIP]

Or even CARE how many AP's you earned in one day of Disney walking?:cool1:

This made me LOL - especially since I do wear a pedometer in the parks! During Mousefest, I logged at least 20,000 steps/day - but, according to the online site, that's only 4 points... :sad2: ... and probably only 1/4 the points we'd need to spend at Spoodles!

Just made goal (60 lbs lost - w00t!) before WDW vacation & Christmas... managed to gain 5 lbs back, but I'm confident I can lose it again. :)

I LOVE the online tools!!!
I have tried WW many times but never stuck with it b/c I got tired of counting points & journaling…well this go round I decided to do the online tools and LOVE it!!! I actually pay for it through my HSA (health savings account) through work…so I don’t see it coming out of my regular bank account.
I live in the New Orleans area, so eating rich, bad foods is a normal thing…and it is so hard to stay on track! But with WW I can eat little bits of the bad food, with lots of the good food!
I started WW right after Labor Day (weighing 190lbs, size 18) and lost 15 pounds (now a size 14!!!) with no exercise…Thanksgiving I fell off the wagon with all this holiday goodies…and plan on getting back on Monday! From Thanksgiving-now I have only gained 1.8lbs b/c now I’m conscious on what I’m eating and portions. I cannot wait to get back on it and start tracking online again! This go round, I’m joining a gym to see the inches go away! I’m just hoping to be a size 8/10 by my Disney trip!
My only advice for all you new WW people is…WATER, WATER, WATER!
Good luck to everyone! And I love the idea of a WW thread!

Really good website is Dotties weight loss - http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html

GOOD LUCK!!!

:yay: :yay: :yay:

I was on WW last year, lost 40 lbs, quit tracking points and gained it all back, plus some :scared1: I am planning on rejoining next week. I would do just online but I need to be held accountable and the meetings do that for me. Having to step on the scale and have my weight recorded by someone else motivates me to stick to it.
They sent out cards for free registration last week, so keep your eye out for those if you're a previous member.

Boy... your post mirrored me exactly! I have joined so many times these last several years and lost great amounts (30, 40, 50+ pounds), only to gain it back (and more) when I stop going to the meetings (weighing in there) and stop logging my points. I need accountability! I have tried to follow it on my own (believe me I have numerous packets and books), to no avail.

I have always liked the flex plan... and had planned on joining again next payday... this new plan worries me! Does anyone know specifics? Is it similar to the old plan, where you can eat what you want, and log the points (deduct)? This new plan doesn't tell you what to eat does it? It doesn't just have a list of foods (like the Core did) that you must eat?

ordered the At Home kit last night. Called this a.m. to make sure it went through and the lady told me it takes up to 48 hours to process the order then 7-10 business days to receive. I didn't choose the rush delivery for extra because it didn't specify any arrival dates....should I call back and have the rush added to my order? She did say that often people receive their kits just as quickly as the rush orders....anyone know how fast they are?

The new plan is called Momentum. It's basically the old points plan, with the option of going over to "Filling foods" (i.e. Core:rolleyes: ) on Week 6. Weight Watchers is now emphasizing to points peoplethat everyone needs to include as many "Filling foods"(aka Core foods) in their diet as they can, so that they'll feel full and less deprived, and teaching points people about being aware of how full they are. If you don't like to count, you can just eat Filling Foods and not count them.

The biggest change for me (I'm a maintaining liftimer:yay: ) is that AP points - the points you earn for exercise - don't have to be used the day they're earned anymore. You can roll them over and eat them any time in the week they were earned. This makes me a bit more sensible and steady on my eating.

If you join the week of New Year's or anytime in the month of January - be forewarned that meetings will be packed and busy. Come early and be prepared to wait.

Everything old is new again! I used to be on WW when they had numbered choices and veggies. I have spent so much money on both WW and Diet Workshop(anyone remember them?) and I know the diet by heart. I like the core and will go on it but I cannot see myself joining b/c after a while the meetings get really annoying(to me) b/c I can mouth the lectures!:rotfl:

I found the key for me is having a treat at the end of the day. One of the things I use is a chocolate cupcake made from

1box b/c ff brownie mix
1c all bran
1.5c hot water
1 tsp baking soda

soak the cereal in the hot water till it is soft and mushy add the baking soda and the brownie mix and mix till blended. Bake in cc cups at 350 till middle springs about 25 min. It makes 16 and I count them as 2pts each. Honestly they are really good and fudgey and one at the end of the day is really filling.

there are tons of recipes on DWLZ as well as points for restaurants.

IMHO if the flex plan works for you USE it.

I am also at the point where I need to do something about my body and health. I have spent the last two years putting the body back together (sort of hit a brick wall when I turned 50:rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) - now it is time to slim it down!!!

Leaning towards WW but need the support of a village to get me through this.......

Will you be my WW family?????

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

This discussion really is more suited to the W.I.S.H. forum. I going to move this thread over there so that the DISer there can contribute their thoughts and support.

Also try Healthdiscovery.com

BTW, the message board portion of Weight Watchers is free. They can't give you point information (Mods delete those posts) but anyone can use that for support.

I'm currently on a mission to track and stay "on-plan" until my bottom fits squarely into this really cute pair of Hollister bermudas I picked up for a song a couple of weeks ago.

a t

What a great idea. I am going to try changing my credit card to my FLEX SPENDING account once we hit the first of the year. Thankyou!
