Weight loss for Wishers and becoming Leaner Meaners!

Good Morning Everyone,

Kim: Welcome. Good luck with the weight loss. I hope your cold gets better quick.

Dave: Now that I know you're reading us everyday I'll be sure to say hello.

Jeff: That's so cruel. Just wait until we get a foot of snow and I'll post pictures then and you'll be so jealous... or maybe not.
Beautiful pictures, beautiful girls.

Maria: Good job getting all worked out before 6 AM. I hope your conference is a good one.

Beth: Glad to hear you're feeling better. Nice job on the 12 lbs. Keep at it.

Tracey: Glad to hear you had a great 10 miler. I love Fall running too. Great pace.

Mike: Hope the knee continues to get better. Good luck with keeping the weight off while you are resting it.

Julie: Glad the candy is gone. We still have some, but I'm ignoring it.

Stacie: Hope you are able to figure out your foot numbing problem. Hope the back of the knee gets better.

Amy: How's it going? Hope DD isn't keeping you too busy.

Lisa: Last we heard you were just 3 lbs away from your goal, how's that going? Are you there yet? Hope you are doing well.

Wendy: I hope you are finding a way to your goal.

Connie: Hope the shoulder rehab is going well. Hope all that scary weather in TX this week didn't affect you.

I was planning to get back to marathon training this week, but ended up with a cold. I've skipped a few runs and have decided to just do a few easy runs this week and start back with the plan next week. I don't think it will really set me back too much.

WW this week was great. The leader is so fabulous. She gave us a little string with a jingle bell and for each lb we lose between now and Xmas week she'll give us another bell to put on the string. You'd think she was offering diamonds the way I'm so excited to collect these bells. My eating has been very good. 9 days in a row of counting WW points and staying within my limit and I'm down 2 lbs this week so just 11 to go till my goal. I love how good it feels when you're on a roll like this. I know that some little thing can come along and push me off the wagon, but I'm trying to anticipate the obstacles so I have a plan to deal with them.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

2 lbs down, 11 to go

Hey guys!
Beth...Awesome job with the weight loss and glad you're feeling better.
Maria...Thank goodness you make the travel plans is right. My DH just recently remarked that we need to talk about where we're eating in Jan.:lmao: What training plan are you using for the 1/2? I think you're "spot on"(that's for you, Deb!) in dropping a week out of the training schedule now....you'll do great next week and hopefully, sleep like a baby (unless you're like my baby, then you'll wake up around 2am and wander around the house looking for a warm body to snuggle up to:rotfl2: ). Nice job getting the early morning workouts in.
Kim...glad you're feeling better.
Jeff...beautiful weather...gorgeous girls....thanks for showing us what the sun looks like, I kind of forget when it's sooooo gloomy here.
Cindy...:yay: for the weight loss!:yay: Wait until we send Jeff the pics after an ice storm with all the trees down, then he'll be jealous:lmao: .
Wendy, Stacie, Connie, Amy, Vic, Julie, Deb,Lisa and everybody else......
Yesterday, I did 3 miles on the TM and Pilates for Dummies.

Hey folks! How is everyone???

I'm just popping in to say HI! I took Monday as my rest day since I did my 7 miler on Sunday and the back of my knee was still a bit sore. Tuesday became a rest day too as LTO! Today, my new shoes in a WIDE are supposed to come in so I plan to try those out on the TM tonight and if I'm feeling froggy, I may do my PfD (Pilate for Dummies) DVD. I may invite my SIL over to join me. We'll see...

My cleaning lady came yesterday so the house is descent and mentally I just feel better about adding the PfD to my workout tonight.

That's about it from me!

:wizard: for those that are feeling icky!

Have a happy day!

Stacie

Wow, a whole bunch of you Meanies came out to play after I left! What, am I not party material? :confused3

Now, lets see if I can keep this all straight.......

Jeff: Ok, you are a brave man going out in WINTER without your coat! No kidding, you have a beautiful place to live and play......and the girls are so cute. Keep the pictures coming.......we do appreciate the view (just want to experience it first hand, you know?)

Tracey: I have one of those wandering boys.......but I finally broke him of coming to my bed. It's like sleeping with a St. Bernard......:scared1:

Maria: Good job getting the workouts in.......I know how hard that is to do. I admire anyone who can sacrifice sleep to workout! :worship: :worship:

Cindy: I love how good it feels when you have the mojo to keep on track with eating......no better feeling in the world (except keeping up the workouts!). Good job.......those 11 pounds don't have a chance, you will hunt them down and eliminate them! :cool1:

Kim: Hope you feel better.....it's a bad time of year for sickness!

A big shout out for the rest of you Meanies!!!!

Beth

I need some ideas for low cal snacks that I can carry with me...I am getting so burnt out on nuts, string cheese, and yogurt!!! Anyone have some ideas for me?

TIA

Angie,

My snacks of choice lately:

laughing cow cheese wedge with Wasa crisp
apples
bananas
carrots with humus
100 calorie snacks of anything
edaname packets (they sell them with Dora on the package in the freezer section)
Special K 90 calorie bars
Firber One bars
FF Fig Newtons
Kashi Fruit and Graham bars

Now the trick is to choose just one or 2 of these and not one of each.

Good luck,
Cindy

Hi Lean Meaners! Well, I think I was pretty good last week - ate my veggies, watched my portions, drank my water and cut out my snacking. I weighed myself last night and I'm down 3.3 pounds! :yay: Now if I can keep that up until January, I'll be one happy gal! Realistically, I'll be happy if I can lose inches or 1 pound a week.

Had a tough workout on Monday with my PT. I'm surprised that lots of different things are still achy but I think that's a good thing?

Maria - I've never noticed dark chocolate Aero before. I've seen some interesting flavours for Kit Kat - green tea, banana, orange. If they're hard to find, I can bring some in January for you. Just let me know!

Angie - For snacks, I like pears, grapes and Clementines (I think they're about to be in season again), a small handful of salt-free mixed nuts, snack bags of plain microwave popcorn, Wasa bread with low-fat cream cheese, low fat Babybel cheese wheels, no-sugar added Jello pudding cups, Kashi granola bars (these aren't low in calories though), Thinsations PB cookies, Nestle Singles After Eight or Coffee Crisp, 1 point WW lemon bars.

Kim - Hope you're feeling better soon!

Dave - I have that song on my iPod... very catchy!

Stacie - What kind of shoes did you buy? Hope your knee is feeling better.

Cindy - The jingle bells are such a cute idea!

Jeff - Gorgeous pictures! Looks like you've got a tough winter ahead of you

:wave2: to everyone else I've missed!

Just popping by to say "hello" to all the mean-leaners. I am so sorry for not posting more but life is hectic right now. Sometimes I feel like I am drowning in my chores. I haven't even had time to keep up with reading the posts, never mind posting again. I guess it's just status quo for this time of year.....it will get worse before it gets better. Hope all is going well with everyone.....hope to be back soon.

I read the thread everyday but don't post alot since most of what I had to say would have been on my blog anyway.

Walking Panda:hippie:

I wondered about that myself -- I, too, missed the sometimes silly, sometimes sobering Panda pop-ins. I hope you'll post more often when you can. I don't get to all the blogs, boards, or even the threads on this board that I'd like to -- though I know they have good content. We miss you and Erica too!

As far as my weight loss journey, I made myself a little map from home to WDW Florida, peppered it with "road markers" with weight goals for certain dates along my "route", and am diligently trying to hit them. They are probably a bit more aggressive than I can actually manage, but at least it gives me something more solid to shoot for than "lose something before Disney" -- my standard mantra. I know with Christmas and Thanksgiving there will be ample opportunities for excuses. I'm trying to head them off.

Take care, my leaner friends!

That was very nice Wendy, you're a sweety. I kinda got the feeling that people were tired of Silly Panda and Evil Panda so I quit posting very often.

I have been living what I preach and Erica and I have both slimmed down a lot, since you saw us last we have lost about 50Lbs between us. I've got her on a weight routine to correct her imbalances and help with her weight loss.

Yes the holidays are a time of temptation but also a time to practice not giving in. You will be much happier and proud of yourself if you stay strong.

Leaner Panda:hippie:

Tired of our panda? NEVER! Maybe that's why I'm finding it so hard to get over to the boards more often these days. I miss the witty postings of you and several others that have been MIA lately. I sincerely TRY to check out the other forums, but realistically it's not going to happen...... especially during the next 2 months. Add me to the list of those who want to hear more from our silly Panda.

i hear ya jean it is so hard to keep up but i do try to read everyday just don't usually get a chance to post:headache:

Mornin' all!
Cindy....speaking of "jingle bells", we love the "Jingle Bell Run for arthritis". They give you bells to tie on your shoes.
Stacie...I always feel so much better when the house is clean.
Beth....St. Bernard is right!!!!:sad2: He was in our bed again last night and that means I get kicked in the head most of the night. But, then I have to admit that I love when he just snuggles in:lovestruc .
Angie...I love those Carmel mini rice cakes and laughing cow and WASA crisps are a favorite, too.
Vicky...:yay: awesome job on the weight loss:yay: !!!!
Jeanne...You said it, Panda is ALWAYS welcome with words of wisdom.:)
Wendy...I love the idea of the map to WDW and the weight loss goals. I tend to be very visual and that sounds like a great plan.
Kim...

I ran some intervals on the TM last night...12 min at a 9:40-10mpm pace with 90 seconds of walking recovery x3. I'd like to get my 5k time down below 30min. As tired as I was, I woke up at 4am and couldn't sleep anymore. I may have said it before, but parenting the little ones is physically exhausting and parenting the older ones is emotionally exhausting and having them at both ends.....I'm beat!!!! It's a long walk for me today!:)

I cranked out a speedy 8 miles in 8:27 mile pace. It was quite hot out, 84 degrees after the sun went down. Oh well, just prepping for Florida, in case it's humid again.

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Good morning, Meaners!

I may or may not to make it back later this morning with a longer post. I've been at conferences and haven't been to work since Tuesday, so I suspect I have a big pile waiting which will mean little time to DIS this morning...

I just did my 40 min on the bike, so I'm all worked out until tomorrow's long wog. It's a good feeling, I just wish I didn't drop like a log at 10 every night. I can't stay awake anymore, even when I want to. I guess I've finally adapted!

Jeff -- Ok, now I see the downside -- I don't know how you run in that heat! You are a machine! :thumbsup2

Tracey -- With parenting the entire spectrum, it's extra important you take time for you through your workouts! It's such a great stress reliever. Enjoy your long walk! :cool1:

Kim -- I hope you're feeling better! :grouphug: Post when you can, that's what we all do.

Jeanne -- I could not agree with you more! We need more Panda, more Debra, more Vic, and more posts from everyone! It doesn't matter what you say. At this time of year, it's just good to hear that everyone is out there getting as fit as they can. :yay:

Dave -- I have missed your wit, charm and positive attitude. Please do not hesitate to post here, you and Erica are beloved and we miss you! :grouphug:

Wendy -- I think the map is a great idea! I'm all for trying anything new to get me motivated to move!

Vicky -- Green tea KitKats?! Ok, that's a new one. It sounds like you have some really fun flavors up there! :cutie:

Angie & Cindy -- I have a new fav 100 cal snack -- Twinkie Bites! They taste just like the real thing, they're just three bites of :cloud9:. I had them with a cup of hot tea, and I was good for the night. Just a thought! :goodvibes

Beth -- I would party with you anytime! I think that's how the posts go -- they always get rolling when I'm away :confused3 :rotfl:

Stacie -- How are you feeling? I hope your knee is better. :upsidedow

Shoutouts to Amy, Howard, Mike, Connie, Julie, Lisa and all the Lean Mean Brigade!

Wow, I did get my whole post in, so now I can just come back to chat later! :surfweb:

TGIF!
Maria :flower3:

Hi Maria, was actually just popping in to say HI and wish everyone a great weekend!!!!!

Feeling much better...thanks:hug:

Good morning y'all.

I have Erica and myself on a weight training routine between now and January. I'm hoping the extra strength training will make up for the lack of miles. With both of us losing two weeks for bad colds after Disney our miles are not were I would like them for marathon training.

Is everyone else ready for January?

Lean Panda:hippie:

Happy Friday to the Lean Mean Brigade (stolen from Maria)!
Jeff...that's an awesome pace, and in the heat ! I worry a little that with it getting so much cooler here, that Jan. in Florida will be a rude awakening.
Maria...awesome job getting those morning workouts in. I wish that I could get it in first thing in the morning.
Panda...Yay...you're here! I'm feeling the beginnings of a cold coming on and I'm trying to muster up the energy to get my 5 miles in. I think it's going to be nice and slow.
We had the cross country banquet last night and the speaker was an All-State high school and college runner who then ran professionally for Team Adidas. He was motivating enough that even though I don't feel like running today, I'm going to run anyway. Have a fantastic weekend y'all.

Good morning!

How is our Lean Mean party brigade? party:

Jeanne/Wendy: It was good to hear from both of you! I know about this time of the year. I am so busy all the time.......I lose sight of the 'prize'! Every day brings a new list of things I need to get done......it gets exhausting.

Tracey: I hear ya on the emotional/physical beating I take everyday with the raising of the children. Wow.....I never realized how hard it is. I do sort of miss the younger years.......it is getting harder and harder as they get older. I found out that my oldest ds is getting picked on at school pretty badly. He was in tears last night telling me what his classmates have been saying to him......I guess the worst is the he is called "Fatso" by most of his class. We are trying so hard to get his weight under control......these things just make it worse. He ended up bingeing last night before he told me about it. I am at a loss in what to do to help him........:guilty:

LTO seems to be the average battle cry......I hope it helps that we are all in the same boat!

Beth
