I tried to post yesterday, with no success.

I needed to buy oatmeal yesterday. I broke down and spent the premium price, over $3, for a box of Quaker's Weight Control oatmeal in Banana Bread instead of buying the store brand's apples and cinnamon flavor that was on sale 3/$4.

I fixed up a serving and was quite disappointed. It had no flavor. I don't think I could eat half the serving. I just can't eat plain oatmeal. I'm wondering if that's normal with the weight control version. I've had Quaker's bakery flavors in the past, in banana bread, and it was quite good.

Is it normally flavorless? Or, did I have a packet without flavoring? I'm afraid to try another. I'd like to call Quaker's hotline if this was a bad packet, but wanted to know what W.I.S.H.ers thought of the Weight Control oatmeal.

I can't answer the Weight Control brand. I use the low sugar apples & cinnamon and like that and make it with water.

I'd be interested if you call what they advise.

I use steel cut oats and cook with a banana and a packet or two of Stevia plus. Top with light vanilla soymilk. It has plenty of flavor, and plenty of fiber, and is minimally processed.

I tried the weight control oatmeal, but it didn't satisfy my hunger, nor my desire for flavor and texture. I'd much rather put the effort into something that's satisfying.

I like the weight control maple and brown sugar. I use about a cup of water to make it. I have used more water and it thickens up ok, but tastes really watered down.
