Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

What is the cancellation policy on the Wishes dessert parties? 48 hours? I'm trying to figure out when I need to start stalking hoping to get a Holiday Wishes party. Its worth the cost just for the VIP parade seating instead of staking out a spot 2 hours early like last year.

Help me with the rental car! We do 1 week plus 3 days. My DH takes care of booking the car but we thought he waited too long because he's finding no good deals! Right now the best he's got is $233 for a week and then $40 for each extra day. Not good!!! What company are you getting the good deal with? Any help to save some money is appreciated!!!

What size car are you looking for? We rented at alamo last year on Disney property. The care care center rents Alamo and National. They rent from the care care center and the Swan. They also have shuttles to take you to both. I ended up walking to Swan from BC. Are you flying into MCO? Do you need a rental the entire time you are on Disney property? I figured since it was on Disney property it would be ridiculous. It was much cheaper and more convenient. I actually rented on last day of trip and drove to Tampa to visit family. I believe I signed up for Alamo insider and got an additional discount.

Super bummed this morning. Saw a post on FB this morning offering a PPO BOG on 11/29 and was the first one to comment (it was only 2 and I need 4, but it was a start). She dropped it for me but I missed it! AND it's my 40th birthday and I'm not super excited about that either. At least I can now say it's only one month until we fly out!

So I just read on another thread that All star sports Touchdown building was moved to a preferred room! That's the building the agent told me to get for standard. Now I don't know what to do. My MIL is having surgery a few weeks before we leave and the less walking the better. Any suggestions?

@Melwhit16 i read that too and was bummed. So much for that plan! We ended up just requesting ground floor and near transportation and am hoping for the best!

I was hoping to pack so much less this trip but feel like I need way more clothes because of the weather, especially for the kids. Last trip we only brought 1 hoodie and 1 pants per kid and never used them.

I know layers will be key, but I don't want to do any laundry! And my kids are messy so rewearing items won't happen either.

Are you all thinking shorts for day and pants to change into at night? I'm realizing my 7yo grew out of most of his shorts this summer and he needs a few more pairs. Ugh!

Also all my yoga pants are so worn they look not presentable enough for public. And most of my shirts look frumpy. Maybe I should have thought of this sooner, I need to do some shopping for basics for myself before we leave!

When we went right before Thanksgiving we didn't wear shorts at all. Pants or capris and a tshirt during the day and add a hoodie at night. That seemed to work for us. You just never know with the weather these days. Soon we will be close enough to check the forecast!!

What's wrong with our group here? We just can't seem to stay 100% healthy!

Now my DH left work and went to the doctor because his knee got very swollen and painful overnight. They are sending him to an orthopedic because it needs the fluid drained out of it and maybe they'll figure out what the cause was.

@JamieOak My 2yo was up half the night with a fever and chills. He's coming down with something and has spent all day laying on the couch watching Disney movies - better now than a month from now right?

Ugh!!! Hopefully everyone feels better by Disney time.

I pretty much live in capris when it's even remotely warm so that's what I'll be wearing. Super exciting. I'm figuring on short sleeves and sweatshirts if needed for the kids, and I guess we'll bring both pants and shorts and play it by ear?

DH has an appt with an orthopedic bright and early tomorrow morning, so hopefully it's good news. I'll probably take time off work to take him because that's the only way I'll get an accurate report, plus I'm not sure he could fill out the paperwork by himself.

Definitely shorts by day and pants on cooler nights plus a hoodie. We're coming from 20's and 30's so I'm not concerned about it being too cold at any point. Definitely a raincoat though. I'm hoping its not as rainy as last time but I want to be prepared!

I looked online and it doesn't say on the reservation page but other sites say it 24 hours. I'll definitely be searching in the days following up to our party night hoping someone drops out. It's so hard to get a table of 2 though!!

Good grief! We need to fit in (another) set of ear tubes for DD before we leave - and then she has oral surgery scheduled for the week after we are back. Feeling a little sheepish about pulling her out of school so much... but she is doing well so she will be fine.

DD and I both have nasty coughs right now, too. Hoping those are gone by Thanksgiving!

Man! I'm sorry about the tubes. My youngest had them once and it was amazing the difference it made for him. Hope al goes well! Just think how much more comfortable she will be on the plane with tubes

My two boys both have appointments for the Tuesday after we get back from Disney.... the older one is getting his tubes out and the younger one is getting his put back in. We're not having any issues right now so I asked if we could hold off until we get back from our trip haha.
