Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Noooo!! It's been really chilly here, it was below 30 this morning, but no snow yet. Not that I'm complaining, lol.

That sounds about right, jeans, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. It's a nonstop for us on the way home so we'll probably have to put pants on in Florida since Milwaukee is going to be cold. :(

You could always wait to change when you arrive in Milwaukee. :)

Also, we have yet to get below freezing in the city. I think the rural areas have all hit 32 or lower, but seasonal allergy sufferers need it to get a bit colder!

I get my rental car deal from Costco travel web site. R u a member? I often found a great deal from Costco travel.

Alamo is what we picked this time. It's on site at the airport and has best rate at this time. Best luck!
We don't have Costco. Nuts. But I will check on Alamo! Thanks!

What size car are you looking for? We rented at alamo last year on Disney property. The care care center rents Alamo and National. They rent from the care care center and the Swan. They also have shuttles to take you to both. I ended up walking to Swan from BC. Are you flying into MCO? Do you need a rental the entire time you are on Disney property? I figured since it was on Disney property it would be ridiculous. It was much cheaper and more convenient. I actually rented on last day of trip and drove to Tampa to visit family. I believe I signed up for Alamo insider and got an additional discount.

We fly into Orlando International. We are staying off site so we need a car rental from the airport. Do they have Alamo at the Orlando airport? We do need a car the whole trip so it's a week plus 3 days.

Yes they have Alamo onsite at the airport.

I'm enjoying the month of a low energy bill. We've run the a/c a couple times but haven't turned the furnace on yet. I'm hoping we can make it to Nov 1 at least. Should be nice and low, just in time for our last money-saving push before Disney. :)

I caved and turned the heat on Sunday night. My kids were complaining of being cold while wearing plenty of layers. It was time! We run our furnace more beteeen now and the snow than we do all winter, because we start burning wood then. Our heat bills are glorious when the wood stove is being used! If we start burning too soon though it's like 80 degrees in the house haha.

I'm remaining optimistic for mid 70s and no rain, and no lows below mid 60s while we are at Disney. A girl can hope!!

Those of you traveling from north to south, what will your travel-day clothing be like? I was thinking we could do jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies (gotta get from the car to the terminal somehow without freezing) but on the return trip I doubt I can convince anyone to put jeans on while in Florida. Thoughts? We do have a long layover in Houston on our way back, maybe we could change into jeans there?

We are in Rochester NY. It will most likely be freezing when we leave and return.
While wear jeans/yoga pants t-shirts and hoodies. I'm going to pack shorts, extra T-shirt, and bathing suits in our carry-on so we'll have a change of clothes in case our room is not ready when we arrive or something happens to our luggage. If the weather in Orlando is warm upon arrival my kids will most likely change into shorts before we land.

I am freaking out over MK on Saturday. We have an ADR at CP at 7pm and 3 FP that day. I really want to take the kids to CP and have to use FP for haunted Mansion before it shuts down but all this crowd talk is scaring me. Does anyone thing later in the evening will be better?

:dogdance: Woohoo! Ok now share your TP finder magic with me please pixiedust:

I just purchased a Touring Plans subscription today. The projected crowd levels are frightening. Even more frightening is that yesterday crowds were much higher than predicted. I hope that's not the case on our week!

All the more reason to have a solid touring plan! And keep expectations in check ;) I panicked when the numbers jumped but really have been watching ride times off and on and it's all fairly manageable if you use your fastpasses wisely.

At least that's what I'm hoping!

Not helping with the freak out!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1: :earseek::eek::blush:
Maybe we should skip MK that night. But then we miss our CP reservation!

I missed an alert and was thinking, wow, no one is talking about anything over there?? 70 messages later....:rotfl2:

That happens to me all the time! I will think man the board is quiet today then check and see pages I have missed.

When I come to Disboards (okay, let's face it, I always have a tab open to the Disboards), I always click on "Watched Threads" at the top. A list of all my threads I follow that have had new replies pulls up and I can click on my favorite ones from there. Once I've made my way through all my watched threads, I then click on "New Posts" to see what is happening overall. I hardly ever look at my alerts because there are just too many.

I didn't know about this "New Posts" button at the top. Ugh I wish I had more time to waste. Work is super busy this week and now DH is laid up. I can't wait for this weekend and hopefully I can dedicate some time to vacation planning. Just 30 days left until we leave!
