Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

@JamieOak i hope DH is ok!!

Everyone stop being sick and injured dangit!

My 2yo was up half the night with a fever and chills. He's coming down with something and has spent all day laying on the couch watching Disney movies - better now than a month from now right?

Oh no! hope he feels better!

Goodness! I hope you guys get well soon.
Good grief! We need to fit in (another) set of ear tubes for DD before we leave - and then she has oral surgery scheduled for the week after we are back. Feeling a little sheepish about pulling her out of school so much... but she is doing well so she will be fine.

DD and I both have nasty coughs right now, too. Hoping those are gone by Thanksgiving!

Happy healthy vibes to all!

Also all my yoga pants are so worn they look not presentable enough for public. And most of my shirts look frumpy. Maybe I should have thought of this sooner, I need to do some shopping for basics for myself before we leave!
I'm right there with you. I make sure everyone else is always dressed great, and I have a few sets of tees and yoga pants, and those seriously need replaced.

Definitely shorts by day and pants on cooler nights plus a hoodie. We're coming from 20's and 30's so I'm not concerned about it being too cold at any point. Definitely a raincoat though. I'm hoping its not as rainy as last time but I want to be prepared!
20s and 30s! :cold: Yes you will be needing shorts because 70s will feel tropical :beach:

I'm from MI - we will likely have snow by thanksgiving :scared:

Yeah, it's hit or miss here in Iowa as to the snow. Dh will probably ask our neighbor to buzz down our sidewalk with his snowblower if we get anything while we're gone. It's not unheard of to have 6+" once in awhile between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hope it doesn't get that bad though! :scared:

Don't say the s word to me. We're still recovering from our record breaking winter 2 years ago. We had just bought our house and had no snowblower and a long steep driveway :crutches:. Fingers crossed we won't have any before Thanksgiving!

Those of you traveling from north to south, what will your travel-day clothing be like? I was thinking we could do jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies (gotta get from the car to the terminal somehow without freezing) but on the return trip I doubt I can convince anyone to put jeans on while in Florida. Thoughts? We do have a long layover in Houston on our way back, maybe we could change into jeans there?

We will all wear pants on the plane, but we leave early so it will be cooler. I'd say pack long pants in a carry on and change during your layover.

Although planes can get pretty warm...my sweaty kids may need to be in shorts for comfort!

Yup. That is our plan. We have lightweight jackets that I am planning to have us wear to the airport, then shove into our carryons. They will also be good for any chilly times while there - we are wearing them here lately when mornings are 35-40 and highs are 50ish.

One of DH's only planning responsibilities for this trip is to figure out how to manage any snow removal while we are gone. :)

I'm from PA and there's already snow in the forecast for this Thursday morning!

Noooo!! It's been really chilly here, it was below 30 this morning, but no snow yet. Not that I'm complaining, lol.

That sounds about right, jeans, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. It's a nonstop for us on the way home so we'll probably have to put pants on in Florida since Milwaukee is going to be cold. :(

Guys, for my next trip, PLEASE remind me to be at WDW on a Sunday so that I can do California Grill's brunch. Josh (easywdw) posted pics on his Twitter and it looks amazing and I am so bummed!
