Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I suggested PJ Masks to my 5-year-old! But they all wanted Gravity Falls. DD will be Mabel, DS11 is (Big) Dipper and DS5 is (Little) Dipper.

We've never seen this show...is it any good? I love Pokémon and Star Wars and all but it's getting old on a loop over here! Maybe I can get my kid into it.

The kids love it, DH likes it too. I haven't had a chance to sit down and watch it yet, just bits here and there, but it seems funny!

Regarding missing school, my poor kids never get away from their teacher (me) and the chance for an educational opportunity everywhere we go. Tonight we made countdown posters and DS5 worked on counting to 50. Besides Star wars just about about the only thing Disney related that interests DH are hidden mickeys. So we are going to try to have fun with that. DH is always telling the kids to be aware of their surroundings. ;) A good life lesson.
We are a homeschooling family too:wave:

As a teacher I guess it is frowned upon by some that I take a week off to go to Disney. Oh well. I'm blessed to have administration that thinks family time is important and understands that we can't take the cost or heat during the summer!

As for Halloween costumes we always do a family bit. Last year was wizard of oz, this year my boys are being sharks. I am being a lifeguard and DH is a surfer. At school DS 3 will be an astronaut and DS 1 is being an alien. DS's bday is the 24th so he will move up into his brothers class just in time for Halloween. They will be cute walking around together :)

P.S. Speaking of the picture problem I have the same one with a profile pic. I keep trying to post one from our last trip but even when I modify the resolution it says it is too big. Boo!

We love it! Your little one will break out his super gecko muscles!

A couple years ago I took 4 days and tacked on to Veterans Day to get a full week. I always use my personal days and try to build onto a holiday weekend to get a vacation. It's hard to limit travel to the summer and Christmas, and it's hard to afford it too! But I'm also one of the teachers that only have kids make up the most important things they miss when they're out and never give busy work! :)

Anyone want this? I just posted on the cancellation thread too.

Party of 2

This is not a party night and MK has PM EMHs until midnight. It requires pre-payment when reserving so have your payment method loaded into your accuont. PM me to coordinate.

I set up a TP reservation finder yesterday morning for an earlier H&V time. I'm cooking dinner last night, I see a text message, run into the computer room screaming "ohh!ohh!! yes yes yes!!!" and kick my husband off the computer. He's like what is your problem? Snagged a 3pm H&V on our arrival day so now I have plenty of time between that and potential SW fireworks. YESSSS. I can't believe one opened up so quickly :)

Yesssssss!!! party:

I have a question. How long do you all "schedule" for Disney Springs and what do you do there? This is a big unknown to me right now. The only thing I remember from DTD on my last trip many years ago is the Adventurer's Club, which is no more! I've looked at most of the restaurant menus, but haven't investigated any stores yet. We aren't interested in the bowling, movie theatre, or Cirque de Soleil. So does that leave just eating and shopping?

I saw one yesterday for $7.99 too. They get good reviews!

If we were going MVMCP I would definitely buy them. But I'm having trouble correlating this trip with Christmas-y stuff since it's so early in the month!! I'm a weirdo.
I start decorating for Christmas on November 1 (outdoors) and usually have my entire house decorated by the weekend after Thanksgiving so this is prime time Christmas season from our POV :)

Well that's true. As soon as thanksgiving is over I get all my Christmas stuff out. You're totally right!!

Pretty much, yes! Last year DH and DS7 hit up Disney quest with our package vouchers and the toddler and I wandered and shopped. The kids love looking at all the Lego statues and spent a good chunk of time in the Lego store. We are having a meal there and will wander a short time but don't plan on spending more than an hour or 2 before/after mealtime there.

This will be my first time at Disney Springs, but I'm planning on just wandering around and...eating and drinking and shopping! Or, less shopping, more browsing. The only thing I'm really looking forward to buying is some bath stuff from Basin. You could go to the Coke store and meet the polar bear?

Edit: and I'm planning on spending early afternoon through about 9pm there, with a dinner res at 6pm at Frontera Cocina.

I found some Christmas window cling stickers at walmart to put on our resort window over the weekend and all the cashier could do was complain about how early the stores put out the Christmas items.

Hobby lobby has had stuff out for months haha. Bring it, I wish Christmas lasted for months. My tree ususally stays up most of January too
