Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

This will be my first time at Disney Springs, but I'm planning on just wandering around and...eating and drinking and shopping! Or, less shopping, more browsing. The only thing I'm really looking forward to buying is some bath stuff from Basin. You could go to the Coke store and meet the polar bear?

Edit: and I'm planning on spending early afternoon through about 9pm there, with a dinner res at 6pm at Frontera Cocina.

Another good point, I'm debating between a late morning before our MVMCP or an evening for DS. It's vacation, so we follow the "It's 5 oclock somewhere" motto for leisurely drinking. :drinking1 I'm even thinking of just getting snacks at the little food huts instead of a sit down meal.

I have a question. How long do you all "schedule" for Disney Springs and what do you do there? This is a big unknown to me right now. The only thing I remember from DTD on my last trip many years ago is the Adventurer's Club, which is no more! I've looked at most of the restaurant menus, but haven't investigated any stores yet. We aren't interested in the bowling, movie theatre, or Cirque de Soleil. So does that leave just eating and shopping?
That's a great question! I don't have any time at all allotted for DS yet, I'm hoping we can get over there at some point but I don't know. There's a Vera Bradley store I'd love to check out, and of course the Lego store and the big Disney store. But my DH, who is a usually really good sport and up for just about anything else, hates shopping and can be a real wet blanket. I wish there was some way for me to go by myself!

Check out Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar if you can get in there - it looks super awesome :)

Walgreen's is behind and still has Halloween out (slackers!) but I've had good luck there in the past finding Disney-branded seasonal items. I hope to check their Christmas selection when they get it out to see if they have any Disney window clings. I thought Walmart had some Disney in the past too but I didn't see any yet - though the clings they did have out were super cute! :santa:

I don't want to do much shopping myself. I do want to get over there to check it out, but I'm not looking to dedicate time to shopping. Do the stores stay open pretty late? I did have a late morning I was thinking to use for DS, but now I'm thinking that I'd rather get over to AKL to check it out. It's the only deluxe resort I haven't figured out a good time to go visit and Boma looks delicious. I recently decided to give up my 2nd AK morning and therefore the Tusker House breakfast ADR, so Boma could be a good replacement.

I've seen some reviews of it and definitely looks like a neat place to try. I guess one advantage to going in the afternoon timeframe is that these places are likely more crowded in the evening.

We are big shoppers, so, including lunch, we could easily stay from opening to 2 or so. But yes, it is pretty much stores and food and a few extras like the hot air balloon ride (is that still there?)

Ack! I just searched for the Frozen ears dd8 has been talking about since last year and can't find them on any Disney website (Disneystore or Disneyparks). I did find them on Amazon via a reseller: https://www.amazon.com/Disney-World...F8&qid=1475587870&sr=8-1&keywords=frozen+ears

But I don't want to spend that much on ears that were something like $25 last year. I guess I need to get her fixated on something else. :sad2: I wish they had "Rey" ears (Star Wars). She loves Rey but really doesn't have any toys or anything that revolves around her.

EDIT: Oh come on! Look what I found in the Disney store: Aurora, Belle, and Ariel all get hats but nothing for Elsa?!ears.PNG

I read about the hot air balloon and put it in my notes, so it must still be there!

Have you searched Etsy - there are a lot of cute ear headbands inspired by Rey, and Elsa of course ;) and around $20!

Very cute! I've never purchased anything from Etsy before (don't flame me!) but I'll look around. :)

No flames! I have ordered a few things over the years and always been happy with them. If you do purchase anything make sure you read through the reviews first! I have found most Etsy sellers that are handmaking the stuff take such pride in their work - unlike a lot of the random stuff on Ebay that comes from god knows where.

Hobby lobby has had stuff out for months haha. Bring it, I wish Christmas lasted for months. My tree ususally stays up most of January too

If I go into Hobby Lobby before Halloween I just quickly walk by the Xmas stuff diverting my eyes. I am a one Holiday at a time girl!

Speaking of Christmas, what are the top resorts to see for decorations and why? I would like to go see a couple if we have time.

I've heard the pianist in the lobby of the GF plays Christmas music and I think they have a gingerbread house display or something as well.

Ive read the GF for the gingerbread house, and WL are 2 not to be missed.

I don't believe I've ever stepped foot into the GF haha...but we have dinner at the WL so I'm excited to see it!!
