Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

9 is kinda late for DD but thought that MAYBE if we show up a little early that we can hopefully get a table and eat before the fireworks. That was the only time that I could get on the 180 day mark.
Kepp an eye out...maybe there will be an earlier one that shows up!

My Disney related Friday confession:

I booked this trip on a new MDE account, so that we can try to use last years' magic bands for same day fastpasses at the kiosks. I spent a lot of time stalking the SDFP thread and decided to try it.

Anyone else have a Friday confession? :D

I've got to know how this works :)

My confession is I've started entertaining the thought of staying at even more resorts for my room only reservation. Maybe Yacht Club instead of Contemporary? That way, instead of booking for proximity to MK for Friday night, we would be in close proximity to HS and just walk there on Saturday morning. The reality is, I'm not sure I can convince DH to splurge at all, and we will probably end up at CB for the entire time :upsidedow

You better make up your mind before te rooms are gone LOL.

Another confession: DH scoffed at the Star Wars dessert party, but if It continues for our dates I'll be booking it as a surprise. I know the kids would love it, the 2.5 yo is free, and we can enjoy the show more without staking out a spot an hour in advance!

Do you follow yuililin's (not sure I spelled that right) SW thread? They're changing the SW dessert party for the rest of July so it'll be interesting to see how people like it and if the changes continue into the fall.

Yes, I love that thread. So helpful. I'm sold as we have months for them to work out the kinks for me :D

I was hoping that it would be seating inside the launch bay, but it looks like from the Disney Website, that there will be no seating - standing tables only. Oy...my poor feet!

You know, I was just thinking that the standing tables issue might mean this is a better idea for our "down" day as opposed to something to do at the end of a long park day. I know not everyone gets to have a down day or wants to use an extra set of park tickets just for fireworks, but heading to DHS for the evening after a day of playing in the pool or whatever sounds like it wouldn't be a bad idea for those who can make it work.

Yep, that would be a great alternative....

If we weren't interested in JTA, we would certainly be up for a day like this!

I'm thinking we will hit HS for EMH to do Jedi training, use 3 FP then leave for a few hours. Come back for dinner and the dessert party. Now I'm hoping the dates all align with what I've currently got!

So we're scheduled to check in on Sun 11/27 with FD. I'm unexpectedly finding airfare that's $200-300 cheaper for the family for Sat 11/26. BUT no FD availability for that Saturday. From what I've read, they won't let me stretch out my trip with FD, right? Other options: add a non-FD one-night stay ($130 at ASMu, so we'd still come out ahead) or wait for airfare to drop (Southwest - do their prices fluctuate much?) HELP!

I ended up doing a RO on 11/25 since Friday flights were way cheaper than sat or sun. We start the FD reservation on 11/26. I've been watching SW and it's only gone up for my route but you never know with airfare! I vote more Disney days for sure ;)

Or maybe get the late flight to MCO on Sat (bonus: kids are more likely to sleep!) and stay at an airport hotel before heading to Disney on Sun. Could we take ME on Sun even though our flight would arrive on Sat?

If you tell magical express your arrival is on Sunday, and give them flight numbers for the flight arriving Sunday they won't know the difference and you can shuttle from the airport hotel back to airport then take ME. I haven't done it personally but have read many accounts of people here doing it.
