Wedding Crasher: Lurkyloo’s 4 Parties in 3 Nights with 2 Cameras and 1 Fabulous Hat

Well there's that knot acceptance you may or may not have needed. Those knot girls are sooooo *ahem* witchy, glad you showed 'em! Congrats, is there a prize? Or just the 'pride of winning'? :woohoo:

It was tasty, but MAN was it sweet. In fact, I actually heard myself utter the phrase “almost too sweet” which has never crossed my lips before ever in the history of the universe. Which is not to say that’s a bad thing.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao::lmao:
H -e - l - p! I just caught my breath from laughing so hard!

I gotta agree with you that thick, sugary icing is the best. None of that cool whip crap. Icing with lots of sugar and butter. Yuuummmmmm! It is the downfall of every diet I have ever gone on.

p.s. I TOLD YOU YOU HAD THE BEST VIDEO!!!!! WAY TO GO!

LOL Carrie- I am all caught up now... I was at work earlier today and I was flying by your pics... and I was thinking :rolleyes1"OK what camera does she have??? LOL Not knowing it was Roots...

GREAT TR:thumbsup2

However, in the meantime, please join me in :banana::banana: over the fact that we won Best Wedding Video in The Knot Magazine's 2nd Annual Real Wedding Awards!

Hooray for voting! Congratulations!! You are the best, so it is only fitting that you won! :woohoo:

Carrie!!!

I just spent an hour catching up on your TR!!! You've been cracking me up the whole time!!! I love the pictures of your stalking Lori's wedding, the pictures you got were amazing and the shot of you guys in her wedding video is priceless!!!

I can't wait to read more!!

P.s. LOVE LOVE LOVE the hat.

Down with the evil Knotties!! Way to show 'em! :thumbsup2

:rolleyes1 I mean, WOO HOO Congrats Carrie and Patrick!!

:rotfl: Thanks!!!

I knew you would win, and honestly, you deserve it. You achieved a dream wedding at a fraction of the cost most bride's do! They should run a story on that! Congrats congrats congrats!

You are so sweet – thanks! I think, though, that the Knot’s advertisers don’t like it when they run stories with real, practical advice on how to save money. ;)

Whoo hoo! Congratulations - your have done your bit for past, current and future disney brides  Do you get a prize......cake?!

I wish it were cake! As far as I know, the only prize is that our wedding will be featured somewhere on their website – maybe as one of those annoying videos that play automatically and make the pages load so slowly... tee hee!

That is awesome for you two! Congrats!!

I have never understood the hate on some brides have for Disney weddings, I think they're gorgeous (and am currently trying to spearhead my brother and his forever girlfriend into doing one should they ever take the plunge)!

Oooh! I hope they do it! The only thing better than having a Disney wedding is being a guest at one!

awesome video award Carrie! Did you edit that video? It totally blew the other one away!

We had a videographer, StarFruit Productions, and they edited it—although I will take one iota of credit for suggesting a few changes that made it into the final video. :)

LOL Carrie- they are BEAUTIFUL pics… Congrats again on the Best Wedding Video… Sage is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you – I can’t wait to see YOUR wedding video from StarFruit! popcorn::

party:

Congratulations! That's fantastic!

woohoo!!! :woohoo::yay::woohoo::worship:

Wohoo!! Nice one Carrie - CONGRATS!!!

Congrats!!! :cheer2:

Woohoo! Congratulations!! :banana:The video is AMAZING! :lovestruc

Congrats on the best wedding video! :goodvibes

Congratulations Carrie, great video!!

:goodvibes

Congrats Carrie..well deserved!! Made me cry at first then smile through tears (happy sentimental girly tears) for the rest of the video. Loved it!! :goodvibes

Congratulations!!!!

 Thank you all! :wave2:

PS I don't think I will do a trippie for just one day.....I don't think it would be too exciting.

Aw... what about a photo-only tippie? I’m not gonna give up here...

Congrats!!
I love your trip report so far! I'm very jealous that you have such awesome, photographer friends.. those pics are amazing!!

I also wanted to say that I joined the Passporter's Club to check out your Weddings and Honeymoons book! (we're planning a disneymoon for Fall 2010)!It was a great buy! Are you working on any more e-books for the future?

Hey, cool! Right now I’m editing an e-book on the Disney Vacation Club, which should be out in a few weeks, editing the revised Festivals at Walt Disney World e-book, and revising my weddings book. After that, we have a British travelers guide to WDW in the pipeline that I’ll be editing.

Congratulations!! We knew you would win it!

I love the candle on the Plaza's cupcake. It's so Curvy.

Really curvy! I wish I hadn’t blown it out before the picture though...

Congrats!!

And good luck with your big work project!!!

Thank you!

congrats on the video win! It hadn't occurred to me before that Patricks last name is Johnson. My aunt (who married a Johnson and took his name) recently was telling us that they had yet another visit from a repo man to try to take a truck owned by another David Johnson. they have been dealing with this same truck situation for a couple years now and her advice to everyone is to marry a man with an unusual name to avoid these problems. Use this as more ammunition for Patrick to take your name!

You got it! (I certainly don’t wanna tangle with the repo man! Yikes!)

I gotta agree with you that thick, sugary icing is the best. None of that cool whip crap.

Bwaahahahahaha! I’m glad we are in agreement on that front.

LOL Carrie- I am all caught up now... I was at work earlier today and I was flying by your pics... and I was thinking "OK what camera does she have??? LOL Not knowing it was Roots...

That's funny! Well, I'd take credit for the pix if I could, but we've all seen what my photos look like... :rolleyes1

Hooray for voting! Congratulations!! You are the best, so it is only fitting that you won! :woohoo:

:cutie: Thanks!

Congrats on winning!!!

I hate those annoying videos that slow the page loading. Atleast it will be one that I will actually watch. :thumbsup2

After lunch, Amelia, Nathan, Jensey and I made our way to Tomorrowland in hopes of meeting up with Lori and her family.

“No pictures, no pictures!!”

313-1.jpg

On the way over, something exciting happened: I finally saw PUSH the Talking Trash Can!!

314-1.jpg

Only at Disney...
316-1.jpg

315-1.jpg

Not only did I finally get to see PUSH in action, I ended up having this big long conversation with him! I blame The Hat. Actually, it started when he saw me live-blogging him with my Phone...

See if you can spot PUSH’s puppetmaster in this shot!
318-1.jpg

PUSH wanted to know about the iPhone, and then he wanted to know where I was from.

Somehow the sandals just drag the whole outfit down like scuba weights!
319-1.jpg

When I said I was from Disneyland, he started ribbing me about why the MK is so much better—which, as you know, is like waving red in front of a bull...

I was having none of PUSH’s trash talk (if you’ll pardon the expression)
326-1.jpg

...So I had to get sassy with him.

327-1.jpg

Eventually he realized that Nathan was snapping away and set his sights on him and Jensey.

Jensey is a Cute Laugher!
IMG_0309.jpg

When I had blogged the H outta that moment, we continued on our way.

331-1.jpg

332-1.jpg

Lori and her group had just gotten on Carousel of Progress when we got there, so we settled in for a bit of a wait.

333-1.jpg

338-1.jpg

I asked Nate to get some shots of the new Stitch’s Supersonic Celebration stage since it seemed like it had been under construction every time DH and I had ever been to WDW, and now it is finally finished.

Your ticket dollars at waste!
334-1.jpg

335-1.jpg

We also noticed the Saddest-Looking Lady sitting nearby—I hope she was OK!

There’s no crying in Disney World!!!
341-1.jpg

“Say, look how reflective Jensey’s lenses are!”
336-1.jpg

“Pardon me while I do a little touch-up...”
337-1.jpg

Finally, after what seemed like time enough for 80 years’ worth of innovation in electricity and household appliances, Lori and her family appeared!

That’s Lori’s mom on the left and Eoghan on the right, with some Irish people in the middle (I *think*)
342-1.jpg

At this point the Roots needed to go home and get ready to shoot Christin’s wedding that night, so let’s have a look at what they captured on the way out and then pick up the story from there....

Ooooooooh!
345-1.jpg

346-1.jpg

Aaahhhhhhhh!
347-1.jpg

Back to Tomorrowland: We had a fairly big group, so Lori and I decided we should check out the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. We sorta accidentally broke into guy and girl groups, with the two of us and her mom leading the way. Lori’s mom is a hoot! I had so much fun chatting with her in the pre-show area and hearing all about how wonderful Lori’s wedding was.

IMG_0310.jpg

The show turned out to be really funny too, even though the closest we came to getting picked on was having some kid in the row behind us chosen. Also, DISer Jennifaerie will be pleased to know that—for the gag where the monster asks an audience member to think of a number and tell the audience but not him (he can’t hear it cuz his eyes are closed)—the monster guessed the number WRONG this time, which is so much funnier than if he gets it right!

By the time we got out of the show, it was getting close to time for me to meet the PassPorter group, so I bid Lori and her family farewell and booked it over to Aloha Isle in Adventureland.

OK, I know this was a short one, but I wanted to get something posted today for ya. I’m still working on a big project for Real Work, so I’m not sure how much I’ll get posted tomorrow.

Up Next: PassPorter Meet, Dinner at bluezoo, and Crashing Another Disney Wedding!

yay!! An update just as I was going to bed.

I will have nice Disney dreams thanks to you.. if Im lucky.

OK, I just got a big project to do at Real Work, so I may not get to an update today. :sad1:

However, in the meantime, please join me in :banana::banana: over the fact that we won Best Wedding Video in The Knot Magazine's 2nd Annual Real Wedding Awards!

This is a big deal for me b/c the posters on the Knot's national message boards are notoriously vicious about Disney weddings, so I feel as though I have achieved a victory for Disney brides everywhere. :rotfl:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :woohoo::yay::dance3::yay::woohoo:

I'll tell ya what... you've definitely sold me on a Disney wedding. ::yes::

Your wedding was beautiful and I'm so glad it won! :goodvibes

Last December when I was at a show, the woman in the audience selected to think of a number and tell it to the audience decided to hold up her hands to tell us, the audience, the number instead of verbally saying it. The monster, with his eyes closed, kept asking her to tell the audience the number and reiterating that he had his eyes closed so that he couldn't "hear" the number. He became annoyed when she kept telling him that she had already informed us of the number.

There was then a stage whispered conversation between the monster onstage to do the "trick" and a monster off-stage who had to explain to the monster onstage that she had held her hands up off camera and he missed seeing what number she'd chosen was. Needless to say, the monster got the number wrong since he couldn't hear the number being spoken and the monster's off stage missed seeing what the number was since she held her hands off camera when giving it.

You're right; things such as that make it that much funnier. It's a really cute show.

Carrie - congrats on winning the video contest!!!!:banana::banana:

You last posted that the Hawaii video was way ahead - did you trounce her in the end??! Yay Disney Brides!!!!

Another great update - and power to ya for having the dedication to do the live blogging in the park! I know I couldn't do it...too selfish with each and every second I get to spend in the Parks!!!;)

I have a kid in band that has a hat just like that with the feather on the top. I think it is just too funny. :)

I'll admit...I am a (non-evil) knottie. I never understood why there was such a rift...I would have LOVED to have a Disney wedding - I just have way too big of a family! :goodvibes

HURRAY! I'm so happy you guys won. I voted for you! I voted for you! Lots - well, as often as I remembered. I should have set some kind of alarm to remind me to do it daily. Sorry. At least you WON!

Great update. Your earlier post fooled me. I was all set to suffer the disappointment and then BAM! Update. Happiness is getting a Lurkyloo update.

Does anyone else see the Mickey Profile in the clouds in this pic? My husband glanced over at the laptop and saw it right away.

Yes! But only after you said something. LOL
Did anyone see the hidden Mickey in the water fountain, page 12 installment 175, 17th picture down, it's down and slightly right of center. I think lurkeyloo may have clued us in, but I didn't see anyone mention it.
