WebCertificate Question

Thanks for the detailed explanations for the webcert and webcert plastic card. I have printed this thread out for future reference. I will be requesting a webcert for my first cashout with mypoints on May 30th, before the "cost goes up 100 points for $10. cert. I think I will hold off on purchasing the plastic card until I can accumulate more $$. I wish milesource would start offering the webcert also.

You also can use the webcert card at any WDW restaurant or store. You don't have to buy disney dollars with your webcert card for spending at WDW. The card itself is all you need. I used it in Jan. at WDW and never had a problem.

Just to let everyone know, the plastic card and the online account are one and the same. The plastic card just allows you to access your webcertificate account offline.

You don't have to "transfer" funds to the plastic card.

I'm going to check out Howhot.com later. Do you know if there is a limit to accounts per household? Or is there a referral so that if someone else in my family signs up I will receive something for it?

Don't want to go in blind and end up making mistakes that you guys have already discovered.

PS, I love my webcertficate card. I will be using this for some of our meals in South Dakota next month. Very hard this time because we are building a huge 6 car garage and I have only hotel $ saved. Nothing for gas, etc which is NOT LIKE ME AT ALL. But I do have enough for most of our food on our webcertificate card and another $45 coming from my points probably a week from Monday. (I think they cut orders every Friday). Plus $25 from the Saturn test drive if it gets here before we go.

Warning-Don't assume they will put a hold on the exact amount you are spending. Restaurants usually approve the transaction with a hefty tip included in the approval. That holds the entire amount they ran thru until the actual transaction processes. Hotels will also do this. So I always try to calculate a little extra and I will not use it at a hotel so I don't end up running out of $ on it temporarily.

I don't think there is a limit on howhot accounts per household. They have a referal where you get some points when your referal confirms their email address, but I have never gotten my points for it.

If you have a webcertificate account and want to use it to pay on your ressies, you can. I am using dreams unlimited, and I just put it in like a mastercard and have never had any problem. I have paid over $200 on my ressies with the webcertificate and it has all went through fine.
