Can anyone tell me what the weather is like the first week of sept? And how is the crowd levels are? really want to go when it is comfortable we just set the dates tonight for our next trip. We just combined Dh welcome home trip and the kids birthdays. Dh is gonna be deployed in the desert for 15 months don't want him to burn up all over again when he come home KWIM Thanks everyone!:thumbsup2

It's still pretty warm in September especially the 1st week. Definitely can get into the 90's. I love the crowds though. They have just died down from the summer rush so generally the wait times on the major attractions are down to under 30 minutes. One warning: Lately Disney has been packing them in with the free dining promotion. If they do this for 2008, the crowds will definitely climb. We tend to avoid free dining like the plague.

It's gonna be hot. Just as hot as the summer months really.

I'm about 90 miles east of WDW and it is just now beginning to feel like fall. Today is the first day my girls are wearing long pants to school in fact. It'll still be ht the first week of September, but it may not feel like it for someone who has spent so much time in the desert. Crowd levls should be pretty good. Free dining has really upped the levels during this previously slow time though.

SO would u go or wouldn't go at this time. We had originally picked Oct 5-15 might still keep that one then plus the food and wine is going on then. Can u till get free dining?

We were there at that time last year, it was HOT!! But, the crowd level was super low!! Would I travel again at that time, not sure, we loved the crowd level, never saw disney so empty, but it was HOT!!!
But, think of how much you can get done so fast, and then go home midafternoon to swim. We are the type to open and close the park, but this trip we had 2 full weeks at disney, so we had plenty of time and did lots more swimming. THe weather was great for that!
Not a horrible time to go, but I could not go when it was that hot, and crowded too. It has to be one or the other for me!
Have a great time whatever you decide.

Hot and humid. The crowds depend on the free dining program. I have never been and this is what I have read.

September is my favorite time of year. Before the kids were in school we went every September. It is hotter than all get out, but the crowds are very, very low. Even with free dining I think the crowds are super low.

October is very nice also, not quite as unbearably hot crowds are still low.

WELCOME TO THE DIS:thumbsup2

I have tried all day to talk DH into going in Oct but he has hi mind set on Sept. I hate the heat uggg but if thats what he wants it's his trip along with the boys and they don't matter when they go. We have picked the dates now I hope we can catch the free dining. I may have to adjust the dates. Thanks everyone for replying.

We were there in September of this year and thought it was fine (we are from Ohio and are used to heat/humidity), it definately was no worse than home in the summer. The crowds were not horrid, we did make the mistake of planning our days according to EEH... we will not do that again. Bounceback and the UK was offered free dining (September 2008), which surely increases September crowds but it was bearable. We are going back this coming September, just a bit later in the month because I want to see the fall decorations and maybe go to the Halloween Party!

I didn't think of that. The fall decorations fall is my favorite time of the year. I might pick later but still sept.

That's my favorite time to go! It's "cooler" then (still warm enough to swim but not unbelievably hot) and we love the F&WF.

Free dining usually ends at the end of Sept, so you'd have to choose one or the other. :)

As of now there is no guarantee about the free dining being offered. We are hopeful however! :thumbsup2 I know bounceback was offered to those that were there during free dining 2007 and the UK was offered free dining for 2008, so it very well may be. I will send some magical thoughts your way :wizard: in hopes that it is offered!
