Can anyone tell me a first hand account of what the weather will be like the first 2 weeks of December? Really unsure what to pack?
Its my first time going in the winter season, cannot wait to see all the christmas decs!!! :yay:

Hello! Yey - we're going then too :yay: it's really, really soon!!!

Seriously though, I believe the weather can be hot or cold... we were there early dec in '07 and it was hot, but I've heard of it being cold. When we were there early Jan (ok so not the same time, but similar weather possibilities) we were boiling the first half of the holiday and freezing the second (ie winter coats)...

We're taking things we can layer up! Makes for a heavy suitcase though doesn't it?

Yeah I wish there was a more definitive answer...but the temps can vary greatly. Bring options...some days short sleeves were worn on our trip and others we had to wear jackets and sadly gloves and scarves!

I think layers would be your best bit, when I've been then its been a bit chilly in the evenings but warm in the day so if you have a short sleeved top on you can just slip on a jumper etc.

We've been the first 2 weeks of Dec several times and like everyone says the temp can vary dramatically! You can literally be wearing shorts and a top one day and the next be in jeans a sweatshirt and coat! So take a bit of everything, so that you can wear lots of layers if need be. I also take hats scarves and gloves and believe me we have needed them! It's a great time to go and no matter what the weather is like I'm sure that you'll have a great time! :thumbsup2

We are also going the first 2 weeks it is a great time to go as the parks look great it is not too busy. With regard to the weather it is very changeable I will definitely take a winter coat and gloves with me but also shorts 3/4 length trousers! But if you need clothes well then you will have a very good reason to hit the malls!

I was there in December 2008 and wore mostly Jeans and Tshirts, then added a cardigan for evenings.

I did have warmer clothes with me as I was headed to NYC for a week afterwards

As everyone has said the weather is all over the place we had a mixture of days in the 20's and one day at 7 degrees!!! (which turned out awesome as everything was a walk on!!!). We only had one quick rain shower though the entire trip.

we used to go early december every year - some years it was swimming weather the entire time, other years it was quite cool.....

i have to find the picture of the kids on the boat to the magic kingdom, sitting in their double stroller, all bundled up in their snowsuits, mittens and balaclavas....it was COLD that year....
fortunately, since we were living in michigan at the time, we had our winter jackets/mittens with us, otherwise we would have all frozen to death...

however, most years the weather was mild, but the possibility of cold means you have to do as everyone has already said - bring layers so you'll be prepared...

Hi

We always go in December:santa:, and I can only agree with what the others have said:thumbsup2

We've had some trips where its been roasting :cool2: and other times its been really, really cold :scared1:

I always makesure that we have a jogsuit each and a fleece and if we need anything warmer then we just buy it in places like walmart ;)

From what our local TV weather people are saying, we are setting up for a lot of cold air to come down from Canada this winter. If is like last year, we get a cold front with 2 days of cold then a warm up for 2-3 days then back to cold. I had to wear my warmest things from hat, coat to gloves and hand warmers last winter.

One thing to remember is that what the locals call cold and what we call cold are two separate things.

I remember going around in jeans and Ts one year and the locals were all wrapped up like it was below freezing! :)

I usually go in early Dec (and am this year Woot! Might see you around the world :) ) and I pack the usual jeans, Ts, etc. (not shorts, it'll be too cold for that) and add an extra sweatshirt\jumper and a coat just in case.
